My wife’s father has over 10 patents on products sold at Lowes and your competitors. I have shopped at Loews many times myself. Your company pulling your ads from “All American Muslins” was a horrible PR move for a couple of reasons. 1. You look like you are easily persuaded by religious extremist groups. That says to me that your core leadership is not strong and company stability is week. 2. Any company that is successful knows to stay out of religion and politics. Asks your selves what percent of my customers are religious extremists? Is the publicity you are receiving being associated with extreme Christian groups generating you more business? 3. With this national publicity you are alienating potential customers that are offended by your religious stance and will take their business to your competitors. 4. How many of the products that you sell and profit from were created by Muslims? I can count 10 personally so we all know that the number must be higher than that. Don’t mix business with politics.
I am a disabled veteran. For the store in general and the other employees, the service and line of products are so good that I can not rate the Grand Junction CO Lowe's on Rimrock Drive a single star. The problem is the stores hard-nosed manager. Like many combat veterans, I have some brain injury from close explosions and concussions. This causes me to be somewhat forgetful. I had shown my disabled veteran's card about 20 times or more times at this store to get my 10% discount. A few days ago I was making a large purchase of building materals and found that I had forgotten my V.A. card. The checker called the manager and was told that I could not get my discount without presenting my card. Lowe's is about a half mile from where I live and I had switched my shopping to there from Home Depot which is over 4 miles from my house (everything else being about equal). So, that day I went to Home Depot and bought the same products there; when I told them that I had forgotten my card: they said "no problem, we have seen your card many times before. The next day I went back to Lowe's and spoke to the manager telling him about my forgetfulness due to some of my disabilities from military service. He told me that he was not going to make any exceptions about the rule and that Home Depot was breaking federal law by remembering that I had a card. Well, if there is a law about refusing discounts to veterans who forgot their card after showing it over 20 times previously, I also know that there is a federal law about giving accommodation to disabled people because of their disabilities. This manager's hardnosed approach to disabled veterans does not bode well for this area. Now I always shop at Home Depot even though it is 8 times further away and cost more gas for transport. Also, I meet with other combat vets periodically and I am going to tell them about the hardnosed approach of this manager toward vets. I meet with many other disabled veterans at the V.A., which I go to frequently; I will be sure to talk to them about the hardnosed manager at Lowe's and his attitude toward vets. I belong to two veteran's service organizations, and I plan to discus the Lowe's manager those places. Have you heard of word-of-mouth advertising? Just keep pissing off the veterans.
I'm giving a 1 star rating to Lowes due to the nature of the problem, IDENTITY THEFT. I was going to order a refrigerator on the website but had questions first. I called the refrigerator department at the Keller, Texas store and spoke to an employee. She told me that I could place the order now over the phone. Wonderful. I gave her all the information needed (she apparently wrote it down on a piece of paper instead of entering the data directly into the computer). What she did next is beyond belief in this day of identity theft, she repeated, OUTLOUD, ALL...MY INFORMATION, my name, address, credit card number, SECURITY NUMBER, EXPIRATION DATE. Anyone standing within earshot may have written the information down and will later use it to make purchases on my credit card. I called another local Lowes store and asked their employee in the refigeration department how they handle phone orders and the gentleman said they enter everything directly into the computer, even if they have to ask a dozen times for accuracy but they never say it outloud, to maintain my privacy. I'm going to have to watch my credit cards closely to make sure I'm not going to be a victim of identiy theft because of this. I called the Lowes store in Keller, Texas and spoke to a manager, Kris. Her tone of voice was of someone totally unconcerned, saying "Sorry it happened to you". She told me that Lowes has no specific procedure of taking phone orders but she would speak to the employee, then said "Anything else I can help you with?" I told her the damage was already done, anyone within earshot now has my credit card information and if I become a victim of identity theft, I know exactly the store and the employee's name that is responsible. This is the last time I make ANY purchase over the phone. Thanks Lowes, stay tuned...you could be hearing from my attorney.
I am a united states veteran. lowes in somerset, ky advertised they give military discounts. I took a copy of my honorable discharge to the store and they would not except it. What's better than an honorable discharge?
My husband and I bought carpet for the house on 11-05-2008. sent the wrong carpet out twice finally had it installed in 2009. and still was not the right carpet. shortly after the carpet started rolling up. and has not been right since. Tried to talk to the manager and was told they were not going to do anything about it. and were very rude. Paid 806.38 to install and 3995.46 fot the carpet. We will never ever buy any thing from Lowe's again. The least lowe's could have done was send someone out to stretch the carpet..its so bad I trip on where its rolled up.We are in the process of installing all new windows in the house ordinarly I would have gone to Lowe's for the windows. but I will certainly not be doing it now.
What horrible service Lowe's gives. I purchased a new washer 8/4/2010, here it is November 7, 2011 and I still have had no word from the third party whom was suppose to fix the darn thing. Motor is shot, I purchased the extended guarantee. Al I get is the run around, they didn't even order the new motor until 5 days later, after the initial repairman came. (Spoke very little english, by the way), thoroughly disgusted with Lowe's and am so sorry I dide business with them. My next step is to contact the media, and have them troubleshoot this, I'm tired of being given hoops to jump thru. Think twice people before you purchase from Lowe's. Call me I'll give you an ear full. 813-643-0388
I feel you pain Chris B. I did have knowledge of Lowes Veterans Discount and being a Veteran, I used it several times by bringing my DD214 with me at check out. My most recent visit however I was told that "anyone" can print out or forge a DD214! I have a certified with a raised seal DD214, this is not a fake! I was told I needed a photo government military ID. I am not a retiree, I do not use the VA Hospital even though I am considered a disabled vet. Why would I have a photo military ID and how would I even get one!!? I was soooooo mad when I called the Lowes Corporate Customer Service and was given the standard speech "Lowes policy is to only accept a photo government military ID" When I asked how a veteran who has had not contact with anything military for more than 15 years would get such a card I was told, "Lowes does not provide that information to people" to which I responded, "If that is the ID you REQUIRE you should be able to tell veterans who to contact in order to get the ID." Just because "I said so" is not a good reason for anything. Lowes policy Sucks!
I ordered a huge amount of items at Lowe's in Rancho Margarita, and the staff there that helped us was awesome! They took the order, then contacted the Prescott AZ Lowe's store to let them the order would be faxed. Geoff Ferrell was are "go to" man in Prescott, and the person that confirmed the order (we spoke on the Lowe's Ranch's phone). My order was to be delivered to 207 south Arizona Ave on Thursday, August 13, 2011. Two weeks later I received a call in California (our main home), and Geoff Ferrell said he couldn't get all our products to the AZ home until, Tuesday, August 25, 2011. I contacted my contractor, and let him know so he could tell the workers. On Tuesday August 25 2011, Norm (Lowe's delivery driver) delivered some of our order! Norm (the delivery driver) told my contractor that 10 main posts where not in the order. He told my contractor "sorry, I don't have a receipt to give you, but you can go to the store & get it if you want one"!! I had workers on site, and not enough post to even start the job! I WAS NOT notified ahead of time by Lowe's AZ to let me know, that with even a 2 week lead, they could not get the main post to start the job. I was liable to pay those workers that were on the job site......$800.00. I called Lowe's AZ, from my California home, when my contractor called me about the missing posts. I was transferred to Mr. Steve Soto. When I explained the problem with the missing posts, he stated "Whoops" with a little laugh! That made me so angry, I said things I should not have, but Mr Steve Soto hung up on me!! NO PROFESSONALISIM AT LOWE'S AZ!! 1 hour later, Mr. Geoff Ferrell called me back, and told me he was sorry about the problem, and would replace the 10 post with a higher quality post, and they could be delivered that day. GREAT......everything looked like it might work out!! the 10 post were delivered @3:30 pm, and too late for the workers who sat all day waiting for the delivery. The next day my contractor call me in California, to tell me that the posts were the wrong size (they were 4 3/4", and not the 4" we had ordered 3 weeks earlier). Once again, my workers were there, and Lowes had delivered the wrong materials. I told my contractor to send the workers home, and my husband & I made the 8 hour drive out to Prescott AZ, we would handle Lowes! I had to pay those workerts who showed for day 2 of the job...........another $800.00. I am now out $1600.00 for Lowe's mistakes!! When my husband & I arrived to Prescott (an 8 hour drive), we loaded to posts into the truck and too them to Lowe's Prescott AZ. To our surprise, Mr Steve Soto ( the man who hung up on me) was the manager on duty!! He was so busy passing the buck to everyone else who could have made this mistake, that I had to leave and let my husband handle, before I jumped the counter. He promised my husband he would look "in the Valley" for our posts. A sorry was said, but at the same time as the "sorry" he was still passing the buck even down to the delivery driver, Norm...WOW!! I must say, later that day the 10 posts were delivered. Should I say Thank You at this point???? I am out the $1600.00 paid to the workers, the gas, food and time to/from our trip to Prescott AZ from California to handle it. I tried to do Lowe's survey, but my original receipt was from 10/07/2011 and it was too old to leave my opinion. I WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER shop at Lowe's ever again, and believe me, all my friends & neighbors will hear about the huge Lowe's screw up.......and the "pass the buck" management.
I ordered a refrigerator from the Lowe's Store in Lake Park Fl On October 23rd. I was told the item woulf be delivered on November 6th. I canceled my out of town plans for that weekend so I would be home for the delivery. I called again October 28th to be certain of the delivery. I was assured of the date of November 6th. I called again today(they did not call me) Now I'told DECEMBER 6th!!! I have twenty five people coming to my house for Thanksgiving. NO REFRIGERATOR. The only thing they aske me is if I wanted my money back. No wonder so many stores are being closed.
Hello my name is eric powell and i am sorry to say that lowes (aim) for kentucky kenny laneum and tk flooring hired a me knowing i did not pass the back ground check but did not tell me and allowed me to work for 3 years they know tis and did not tell me destroying my life and my lawyers think i can get a lot of money so you might want to check T&K FLOORING for unlawful act because it is coming back to bit lowes in the but.
I would like to take a few mins out of my busy day to let you know I enjoy your newest commercials with their "cre8ive" touch! Thanks for making a commercial pleasant to watch. Janice
Let's start from the top. Louie Bailey I'd the store manager who has been in a intimate relationship with Tammy B. head cashier now manger to the front end for sometime now. not only have they been caught in the unisex bathroom by and employee but have been seen following eachother out of Lowes to what we all assume is to meet up. They live in opposite directions so why meet up in parkinglot and then head same direction. The said above woman had aslo been with and solicited many men (Jim, Josh S., Louis Bailey, Kenny Lanham, Tristan Davis, Ryan Aubrey, Jeremy etc etc etc). She has gone around in may occasions talking about her "toys" and her love for also woman. Many times she had sent nude photos to these men and given then blowjobs in not only the Lowes store but parkinglot. HR has been confronted many times if her activity including a employee who wanted to resign do to catching the store manger with this woman. Travis Davis was I believe the first to witness these such actions. Nettle Wallace who is the HR manager is a good friend of this woman and puts her incharge of dinners, cookouts etc. On to the next issue. This store has had children consived by a zone manager and cashier and all they did was promote and move Shorty Browm while giving his pregnant mistress a Cush job. She then had this child and continued to tell her husband in Iraq that it was his due to the fact that Shorty dropped Diedre M. Now Deidre A. Like a hot potato. Her husband still not knowing that the child isn't his. Well let's move on to Tracy Hornung who is now Tracy Ware. Another whore who has slept with Josh stoess, Eric Bell, Shorty Brown, Patrick Dalhgren and many many more. She herself was promoted and moved to another store. Let's move onto Jeremy(the zone manager) he also has been screwing around with Vickie (paint) and this was found out throu emails on their Lowes account that they accidentally printed pit in the store. Again a nice coverup by Nettie who reprimanded those who read the printed emails instead of those who wrote them. I could go on forever with this store but you get the point. It's worse then the obvious things mentioned in this post. Chris C. And Dave R. Really need to open their eyes and interview employees without the supervision of Louie or Nettie. This store needs to be cleaned out!!
Ok, here is the deal. On September 22, 2011 I had a job interview for a position at Lowe's in Elkhart, Indiana. I went to this interview and I thought I did a great job at it. I'm a professional person and very intellangent. I went for a week without hearing anything from them. Ok no problem I thought, granted the position that I did the interview for them was for the flooring department and I didn't have no experience in that field. One week later I had anouther interview for a different Lowe's store in Dunlap/Goshen Indiana for a position for an unloader. I went to that one as well and again I thought that I hit that one as well as the other one I did a week later. I must have not got that job either since I never heard nothing directly from them. Now just yesterday October 27, 2011 I had another interview for a parttime position at the Elkhart store again. And yet again I didn't get hired into the company. What does it take to get a position for that company? Do you have to kiss up to get in there or what. I'm getting tired of the run-a-round excuses that this place is doing. I will never apply there ever again in my life. It has been a waste of my time trying to get in there for this past 2 months. I haven't worked since July of 2006 and I was hoping to start my life over with a new job. I guess not. Oh and by the way, I know that most companies run a background check on you before employment, and I'm ok with that. The problem that I'm not ok with is if the company doesn't use a reliable sorce to check out the person Example: for me personally the Indiana State Police Department instead of a cheap knockoff one on the internet that isn't true or accurate. I ran a background check on my self a month ago and found out some bad information that wasn't correct and it told me who done one on me also. Guess what, Lowes did. The internet one had wrong personal information like my age and birthday, mispelled address, and other minor stuff like that. I have a very clean background, I also go to college for Criminal Justice. That right there shows you that I got a clean record since I get Government Financial Aid and Loans to go to school. Apperally Lowes dont care. I know that I will never apply there ever again or buy products there ever again. My advise is to leave them alone and not do bussisness with them.
I have been applying at lowes for two months now for a multitude of positions and have retail experience but I am turned down with-in an hour of applying. I am 58 years old and believe that this is the reason. Lowes has engaged it self in age discrimination.
We purchased a front loading Samsung washer/dryer pair with the 4 year extended warranty from LOWE'S in 2007. When the washer started leaking 4 days ago, we called LOWE'S to get a repair technician. They contract out and gave us the name of the third party company who would complete the repairs. Took 1/2 day off from work only to have the technician show up and poke around the washer with a screw driver. He said it only needed cleaning and charged me $85.00 for the service. Within 5 min the washer was still leaking. The repairman came back and tilted the washer up to look under it. I came inside to call LOWE'S to find out what my repair options were. When I went back into the garage, the tech was on the phone with his company. He wouldn't talk to me or tell me what was broken or how it would be fixed. He kept repeating over an dover that I needed to call his office/manager. I asked him what was broke and he showed me a slit that had been cut into the rubber seal around the door. I asked him how he managed to poke a hole in the seal while I was gone, He spoke absolutely no english other than to say to call his office/manager. I called LOWE'S customer service department. The manager, Christy, said that another third party company would come out to fix the problem, but since the seal was not covered, I would have to pay for it. When I explained that the tech from the third party company poked it with a screw driver she said it was not a covered issue and not LOWE'S policy to get involved. Since we bought the contract through LOWE'S, they should honor the contract and repair the unit. I did not sign a repair contract with a third party company, I signed for it with LOWE'S. It's bad enough to call customer service and deal with reps out of the country, but when they show up at your door and damage your appliances, LOWE'S should take the responsibility since that's who they chose to contract with. One more example of being screwed over by corporate america. We shouldn't have to suffer because they refuse to take responsibility. I wil never buy anything else from LOWE'S again. Since HOME DEPOT is right around the corner, I'm sure they will appreciate our business. Since we are going through a major bathroom and kitchen remodel, we'll be happier giving our money to HOME DEPOT.
I have shooped at Lowes in Hermitage since it was on Lebanon Rd in a small little building. In the past two plus years the Old Hickory BLVD store has gone to the dawgs. The store manager has no idea who was working as I told him about a problem in lawn hardware products like mowers and blowers, and chain saws today. This entire store has gone to blank in a basket. the employees are lazy, no nothing, do nothing, and; it is obvious the manager does not care. I doubt he even has an employee training/orientatyion training plan. This is sad as this Lowes aqws better then Home Depot. Since 2008, Home depot blows this store away. When the manager never leaves his office, and the employees do not care-customers shop elsewhere.
I am currenlty a lowes mananger and they could care less. Half our senior managers have boned our staff at our store and everyone knows including our distrcit manager and they do nothing about it. When you get shorted pay from work they blame you and they could really care less what happens as long as the store is profitable. Bottom line is that if you want to work for an open door policy company that prasies the good ole boy program then jump on board with lowes. No issues are ever resolved and if you call your district hr then the next day you are being questioned about it. Lookin back I would have never vested the time I have if I would have known. Funny thing is the direction we are going in now at my store is even worse. 1282
Purchased a new mower from Lowe's (over $3,000) and purchased the Service Advantage Plan - Extended Warranty for several hundred additional dollars. We had a minor mechanical issue with our mower early this summer. We noticed the service center charging/billing Lowe's for services not being performed and reported the concern. Our mower was returned the exact mechanical issue was experienced again. A pulley spindle from the deck came completely off. The service center was contacted through Lowe's service advantage and a pickup was scheduled. The mower was "repaired" and returned several weeks later with a destroyed battery and acid residue spread over my entire mower. This was early August. We immediately contacted Lowe's Service Advantage with photos documenting the damage. The mower also had never been repaired properly and yet Lowe's Service Advantage had been billed for services/repairs not provided. We brought this questionable activity to their attention and demanded our mower be repaired. At the same time we started receiving harassing phone messages from the service center noting we had reported them as crooks. We never reported this service center as "crooks" but did report questionable charges for repairs and parts which were never conducted or installed. Lowe's Service Advantage refused to repair our mower because to damage took place at the service center. Normally, I would not have an issue sending my mower back for repair but obviously a member of the Lowe's Service Advantage organization contacted the service center and shared our concern due to the harassing messages we received from the service center. Who would realistically trust a $3,000.00 investment with a service center likely to retaliate. We refused to return our product to the original service center and demanded another service center repair our mower. Finally, around mid September, we were contacted by Tena Wilson (Lowe's Executive Group) and promised our mower would be repaired using another service center. The new service center picked up our mower just over three weeks ago. Last night I received a personal call from a Lowe's Service Advantage representative asking about our satisfaction in the repair. I explained that I did not even know the mower had been repaired. I asked about the repair and no information was available. Today I had planned to contact the new service center and check the status of my mower. I arrived home to find (2) messages on my machine. (1) Lowe's Service Advantage stating we would have to contact the original service center who damaged our mower for the repair and (2) the service center calling to schedule delivery of our mower which Lowe's Service Advantage (again) refused to repair. Both messages humor me because we just received a message the night prior checking the satisfaction of the noted repair which never took place. We are sick of excuses. Tina Wilson (Lowe's Executive Group) promised us our mower would be cleaned of the acid and repaired from the damage it experienced while at the service center. She lied. We are now through with negotiating. We are demanding a full refund for the mower as well as the worthless Lowe's Service Advantage Plan. I feel we have been incredibly patient and extremely flexible until now. Should we not get more than three weeks use out of a $3,000.00 mower protected with a several hundred dollar protection plan. Ask Tina Wilson and see what she will tell you today.... tina.wilson@lowes.com If she answered to me, she would be providing a detailed explanation on why her poor judgment and lack of concern are costing Lowe's unnecessary legal fees.
To whom it may concern I am a 51 year old man that has over 20 years of customer service and sales experience. The reason for this letter is to try and learn and understand what your company is looking for in its employees because every time that I apply for any position wether unloader or department assitance I get rejected evan befor the possibility of an interview. I just dont understand what you are looking for or with what mesure you evailuate a prospective employee. It seems to me that you dont want really good workers for your store or you only want young people or evan it may be that I am not pretty enough, what ever the reason please try to help me understand because acording to what your qualifications are I certainly fit the bill.
Kudos for sponsoring the American Muslim show in the first place. It was a show designed to enlighten the public about people that live in this country and participate in the culture of this country. Shame on you for not having the backbone to stand on your principles and letting an extremist group who certainly have nothing to do with tolerance and Christian principles influence your thinking. What a cowardly response. Home Depot, here I come.
