I have a friend that works in a Nebraska store, Im told that they are working skeleton shifts. The management is terrible, Workers feel that they are actually almost in prison. some of the cashiers dont even get a break in the first 6 hours of work. They say customers a number one. So if they are too busy u dont get a break. Their workers cant even have a simple bottle of water at the register. I will not shop their anymore, People have the right to take a break some time. With all these Big TAX breaks there getting you would think they could pay their employees more than 10$ an hour! By the way thats poverty
Had purchased a washer and dryer from the wise va lowes the people i purchased it from were great sales people, when the delivery drivers came and installed they tore a hole in my laundry room floor. That has been almost 3 months ago and i am still trying to get my floor fixed. It is a horrible experience every time i call to check on the status i have to speak with a different manager and have to explain the situation every time i call. It seems anymore to get any awnsers i have to call corporate and then they call my locale lowes and i finally get a call
On June 8, 2011 My husband and I went to the Lowes on W. Washington (and Buffalo) in Las Vegas to pick up paint for our patio. We have been going to this store at least once a month for 20 years. We bought our paint, secured it in the "basket" in the back of our truck. When we got home (3 blocks away) both cans of paint had tipped over and the lid came off one can. We had pink, oil based paint all over the back of our black truck. After spending 3 weeks trying to receive some type of compensation and dealing with Taylor (a disinterested manager at the store) and Loew's insurance company we were done. We could not get any assistance and were told Lowe's would only pay half the cost. We were told we were to blame for driving recklessly (we are senior citizens) and the last time I spoke with the manager, Taylor, he told me I didn't need to come to the store or call him again. He said for me to deal with the insurance company. Dealing with the insurance company was no help. Human Resources (in Las Vegas) said they mailed the forms and video to the insurance company, but the insurance company did not receive the documents. After several phone calls to the local Lowes store and their insurance company we gave up. Three weeks later we filed a claim on our auto insurance and the car is still in the auto body shop today. The oil based paint dried and they are unable to get it off. We will never do business with Lowes again. It is disheartening to see how they do not care about their regular customers. On top of it all we are out the gallon of paint. All this because some employee couldn't be bothered to tap down the lid of the paint can!! Lowes - you suck!!
I was recently in the Auburn, Me. Store on Turner St. with my 5 year old Son and witnessed something that I think needs to be handled in that store ASAP!!! First of all I witnessed a Dept. Manager "which I got his name and it is Mark Morriset" loudley calling another worker a Little Boy Toucher Can you say Harassment for one for the Employee who I felt very sorry for but very inapropriate for the customers and my Son. I will be going across the street to Home Depot from now on if that is tollerated in your stores!
I second that last statement about 1557. I am also an employee in that store and there is a serious problem going on there. And you are right we lost the only good manager we had. Somebody needs to investigate the store before it gets even more out of hand and yes very true about the surveys
I have been with the company a very long time. This past week we lost the best manager our store ever had. Like I said I have been an employee in this store for a long period of time so I have seen many managers come and go. This manager that left and found another job will be sorely missed not only by our employees but also by our customer base. Our current store has the worst morale probably in the company. The managers that are left are lazy and unapproachable and sometimes are not on the floor for days. And to add insult to injury the only good manager we had left and to my knowledge was not talked into staying. In my store 1557 we are highly persuaded by management to give the store extremely high scores on the employee opinion survey. Some managers tell us to give the store high scores and they even look over our shoulder when we take the survey. The company is not what it used to be.
I ordered 2doors for my home on March 17, 2011. The ist door was installed 5/16/11. We pd. a total of 2011.00. THe 2nd door was returned because it was the wrong size. I was called 2x that my door would be delivered on 6/16/11. I had to call and was told door was delayed again and would probably be delivered on 6/20 or 6/22. I was told that after all I was given a $300 credit and a 100.00 gift card. (big )deal) I was also told that this problem was told to the corporate office and they r aware of the situation. I called the corp.office the customer line says that we r busy and u need to call back. If your store can't deliver and install in less than 3 months don't advertise that u sell doors. Maybe 60 min. or dateline is next. Come on deliver or return. Poor customer svce. and delivery.
I am the founder of a non- profit for Autistic children in the Philadelphia area. I went to Lowes near the Neshaminy mall and asked them to donate materials for a 4th of july float. Just like Home Depot and CBM I was first told o.k. then when I went back I was told by the H.R. person, that would not be possible. I was asking for about three hundred dollars worth of materials. lowes at the Neshaminy mall probabaly brings in that much every other minute of a regular day. as a contractor I have spent over 100,000 dollars in a year there myself. We thought maybe we just ran into a bad person but when we contacted corporate, they didnt seem to care either. We allow these companys to rape our neighborhoods and when you ask to give a little back they give you all kinds of excuses why they can't. Or they play the shell game where one person says call this person, then that person says you had the right person to begin with. its called the run around.VERY SAD!
How is it company policy that says no illegal drugs when you have empolyees selling and give script drugs out plus mangement supporting pot for empolyees at parties yes I have 100% proof not only is mangement sleeping and dating fellow empolyees again have proof why nothing said what do you do your job is on the line I don t work there but know who does and Lowes has major sex harassment and sleep with me you ll get promotion faster. I do belive you should check into this!!! Concern customer
That is republic missouri store regarding concerned customer
Several weeks ago I bought a storm door and paid extra for the $97.00 install. The employee said it would NOT be a private contractor but would be an employee of Lowes. This included removal and install of aluminum. Low and behold, the employee turned out to be a private contractor in a Lowes shirt. Then he told me the door would not fit in the space and I would have to order a special door at extra cost. That he would also charge to remove and place new aluminum around the door. I could see price creep. This is when the carnaval began. 5 different prices quoted and debated. I said I will remove the aluminum because it only takes 5 minutes and I am not paying someone $50.00 to do that. Finally the regional manager says : “Should you decide to have a storm door installed the store has been communicated to that the additional work needed will be provided to you at no charge". Now store employees said that they now interpret that to mean they will only take down and install the aluminum around the door. Store employees tell me that they can read "take down and install" "is" in this statement: “Should you decide to have a storm door installed the store has been communicated to that the additional work needed will be provided to you at no charge" Additional work at no charge translates to only uncapping and capping the door jamb. Yet I am still looking for that in that sentence. Now the installer comes out to install the door after waiting a week. He says you need a piece of wood between the door jamb and the brick molding. Not being capable of doing that and not offering, I told him I would have it done in about 45 minutes. 45 minutes later called the store and said I had to help the installer out and build out the jamb and I am done. He can come back. Now I'm told that even though he skipped the appointment, he cannot fit me in today. I said no, the schedule is for today get it done. The store manager called and says he has no power over his installers, that they are private contractors. Well, I guess what was first a Lowes employee is now a private contractor they have no control, over. To many inconsistencies. Lowes employee is really a private individual. We can do this for $97.00 to include capping and uncapping and the private guy raises the price. We can do the job at no additional cost meaning I have to do some of the work. You will need a special order door when I did not. If you are not going to be truthful, you need to get your stories straight.
On 5/30/2011 I ordered a Char-Griller from Lowes store #222 North Canton, Ohio and was not delivered until 6/10/2011. I ask that I have a 30 min call so my wife can put our dogs in house before delivery and they said they could NOT and will be between 13:00 and 15:00. When delivery was made they were mad that my wife had them carry grill to back yard approx. 30 feet. The drivers never gave my wife a copy of the receipt they had her sign. Then when I put grill together They had delivered the wrong cover for the grill. I called customer service and they then called the store in North Canton, Ohio and I was informed that it will be exchange but they will not deliver that I have to come to the store to exchange it. I make my living driving for a large LTL trucking company and if we would treat our custumers like Lowes does we would be out of business. I will have to think real hard the next time I make a purchase. HELLO HOME DEPOT
Why do you make it so difficult for Veterans to receive the 10% Discount? From the feedback I've been receiving, Vets are saying that a Veteran Photo ID card is required. Most Veterans don't qualify for a Photo ID card. Either give Veterans the discount or don't. The only Veterans that have photo ID cards are: Active Duty Military, Retired Military, Veterans who are qualified for VA Health Care, or 100% Service connected Disabled Veterans. Why not use a copy of a document that proves they are a Veteran along with a Photo Driver's License? Please respond. Sincerely, David Graf, Director of Veterans Affairs, Northampton County, PA.
I just sent an emial about the Veteran Discount. My email address is: dgraf@northamptoncounty.org Please respond.
I am an employee at Lowe's currently. Since I started, I have dealt with many forms of harassment and rumors. The upper management has no regard for its employees, especially new, female employees. I was written up for talking to a family member during company time. My family was shopping and I was helping them look for items. So I was written up for that. I can tell you right now - my family and friends will NEVER shop at Lowe's again. I am constantly on edge working there, because I'm afraid I'll get in trouble for talking to other employees. In my opinion, Lowe's is a horrible company to work for. Let's hope for something different in my future. I have a son to support or else I wouldn't be there right now.
Lowes Corporate has once again turned their backs on the old veterans by only recognizing a Vet ID card (which the old Vets do not get unless they had a disability) and not a DD214 with valid drivers license at their home Improvement Centers. Although I have a very large amount of Lowes stock (but not for long) and am a previous employee of Lowes, I have begun shopping at Home Depot since they still appreciate the old vets, as well as our recent vets.
I was very overwhelmed with the customer service at Lowes Monroe with a cashier Shaye she was friendly and ready to help me with finding the perfect plant for my mom! She needs a raise for standing in that sun too good job!
Lowes is a poor poor work place and managment is worse and their HR is any worse!
I am a Disabled Veteran working at Lowe's. I have been discriminated against
usually I would gives lowes a good rating, but on this past sunday, my husband and myself were buying a riding mower, I knew it wasnt going to happen but I kept teasing the staff about having it delivered that day, my home was 1.5 miles away, so as my husband was giving all of the info so they could put it in the computer, they informed him it was 80 dollars to deliver, I said to the manager , oh come on, cant you knock that charge off, we do alot of business here and its only around the corner, theyve been there to deliver on a number of occasions, he just laughed, didnt respond at all, so my husband said forget it , I will take off the mower deck and go get my truck and get it myself, still no response, i know from other shoppers that have been given special items just for buying a large item such as a pressure washer to name one.we proceeded to go outside where the mower was, not one of the 3 people there went Out to even assist him to remove the deck, he was down on the ground on his knees in shorts on THE concrete, not a one of them even offered to help, this is unacceptable, guess what they say about the big box stores is true, if this would have ahppened at aubuchons or a private store, they would have atleast!!!! followed him out of the store to assist,or just to keep a happy customer , knocked off the delivery charge for the next day. I was sooooo disgusted that we went back in and cancelled the purchase, guess someone else deserves our business, oh and I will be telling many people about this episode. thanks for your ear.
