Lowes Woburn MA I was looking for inflatable Halloween blowups; and was told by customer service they had a small inflatable blowup and nothing else. (He answered quickly without even looking on the floor) By going into the store today, they have several different characters of inflatable blowups. And due to Lowes not wanting a sale (I only assume) they lost my business. I bought online through Wal-Mart instead. Also, I have had issues with the help (Lowes employees) ... the help should be replaced!! Face-to-face customer service is not for everyone and I think most or even all should look for a new profession.
Even as an employee, you get treated worse when you buy something and god forbid you have to bring it back. Its ok for the general public to bring items back used, not in the same box and without a receipt but if your employeed by Lowe's they investagte your purchase and you have to prove to them you bought where you said you did. Store Managers at Lowe's avg $80,000 a year and walk all over everyone just to go to Vegas in march and get their bonus money which is usually ten of thousands of $$. Its all B.S.
MR Niblock, are you reading all these complaints? Doubt it! Probably at Lowe's motor speedway with Jimmie Johnson. Seriously, there alot of pissed off customers and employees that have a negative impact on your business. I was fired by Lowes and could prove my store manager stole thousands of $$$, but no one would listen, everyone protected the store manager making $100,000. I still have the tapes though! Any media outlets out there?
I have been employed with lowes going on 12 years and i guess it doesnt matter who you are its who you know. Our now store manager has had it out for our front end for some time and has taunted us with ridiculous demands. you cant leave the door for anything which i believe is crazy.I never was hired on as a door gaurd and if thats what we all need to be then we all should get the same pay as loss prevention because in all reality we are doing more than they are.not to mention I am now jobless because of this manager which I truly believe is unfair.but then again we are talking corp. words. when and why would corp. change the way we all take care of our front end. the moral in these stores have changed drastically along with their changes and let me tell you its not good for customer service.everybody i talk to now since these stupid changes are so unhappy,so whats he gonna do fire everybody in the store, how well will that help your customer service.years back lowes was one of the greatest stores I have ever worked for. The people were great, the store was great and the customers were great, thats been long gone now for some time. and I believe it has nothing to do with bad employees its starts with management, if you manage well you'll have successful followers.and all the higher ups arent always the greatest choice for some stores, mainly ours....
I've never given a comment about service at a store. I just kind of figured it was the employees job at the place I was shopping in to give "service". Well I was so wrong. On Monday I called the Hillcrest Lowe's and asked for someone who could help me with a craft. I had purchased copper sheeting to make a roof on a birdhouse I was building, I was ruining the sheeting I had and needed suggestions on what I needed to get the darn nails in the birdhouse. After a nice reception from the lady answering the call, I was sent to a lady in the tool department. Her name was Joyce.. I told her what type of craft I was working on and that I needed to know how to put copper roof on a bird house I was building. I didn't want to make big dents in it when putting in nails to attach the roof to the structure I had build. Wow, what a wonderful response, she told me I would need a hole punch, (no idea what she was talking about but I put my trust in her). I wasn't able to get into Lowe's that day, Monday, but on Tuesday I came into the store somewhere around noon and I just started to explain what I was looking for and Low and Behold.. Joyce remembered our conversation from the day before and actually took the time to find that Lowe's had copper nails small enough for the birdhouse I wanted to build. She showed me the nail punch I would need, took me to where the copper little nails were and she asked the magic question, "Is this for inside or outside?".. I told her outside and she immediately took me to the paint department and showed me water proof silicone and told me to put a drop on after I made the punch, then after I hammered the nail in add another drop to seal it so water would ruin the inside of my birdhouse. I was so happy to have a person that actually gave me insight and great suggestions to help me make sure my birdhouse would not be a "once a year" happening. I'm impressed that Lowe's has such knowledgeable and actually HELPFUL and informative people. Color me impressed and now a dedicated Lowe's customer. Thank You Joyce.. you were so much fun to talk to and so helpful with your suggestions. Everyone lately at Lowe's seems to be so ready to help people. I love having people at the entrance doors to ask where to go.. and they ACTUALLY give great direction. WTG Lowe's.. you rock.. I'm a dedicated fan.. you are now number 1 on my list of places to go when I am shopping for home improvement items. Thank you so much to the Lowe's on Main Street in Spartanburg Hillcrest area.. YOU ROCK..
I was in your Uniontown, PA store and a Manager named "Jon" was atttempting to help me out. This manager twice patted me on the "ass" as we walked the asiles. I texted my husband who was in the store with me and asked him to follow me and this Mgr. The Mgr "Jon" then fronted me and said my collar was wrinkled and tried to fix it, he was really attempting to look at my breasts. My husband observed this treatment and threw this Mgr up against the shelves and we both left and called the local police. You had videos of the whole ordeal in the aisle I was in. I'd hate to be "Jon", I might be his boss soon.
I had a flooding issue in August .. it's mid October now. I went to Lowe's picked out samples. Took three weeks ot get the samples to match up (since insurance would only pay for carpet to the bedrooms, office, bathroom). I had to get it to match existing carpting. I got the samples .. took three wks. I ordered the carpet, took another three wks. Then .. the fated day the carpet was installed .. the two milled rolls didn't match. One was a shade darker than the other -- down the middle of the room! All the while, for two months, I moved everything out of the living room (as Lowe's doesn't 'move antiques'), thus, everything had to be moved into the bedrooms, the bathroom, the office, etc. I have been sleeping with a bookcase in my back for about two months now. So, after moving all this stuff myself (I'm 5'2", 120 lbs) .. I get the carpet ... it's wrong. Have to move everything back (to have some sense of normalcy in life) because could be three more wks to get new-new carpet .. again. now, the new -- er carpet is in .. now have to move everything BACK out .. and then they install and then have ot move everything BACK into the rooms. I also had to kennel, the first time, a 186 lb Irish Wolfhound, a smaller dog, and pay someone to help me move the electronics, which Lowes wouldn't touch either. I have complained about this .. Lowe's will not work with me, offer any sort of compensation . whatsoever.
I will never shop there again, bought a refrigerator & one day past warrenty all the plastic in it broke & ice maker has a problem, then bought a fan & something was wrong w/that too after my husband spent so much time on it. Brought it back & customer service could care less!
NEVER ORDER CARPET FROM LOWES!!!!! My husband and I recently visited the Lowe's in Torrance and I have never had so many problems before. We ordered carpet to be installed into a small childs room. We were given a idea in the store that it would cost somewhere around $380.00 which was fine with us. They were to have someone come out and take measurments (from another company they hire) and then receive a phone call with a final quote within 72 hours. NOTHING... I called 3 times to only have then tell me that they would have someone call me back... After 5 days I finally got a hold of someone only to be told now I must pay over $600.00 to have the carpet installed. After many transfers and rudely being talked to by the woman who originaly quoted me I got nowhere!!! I spoke to the installer ( another company they hire out from) who explained to me a little as to why the big $ difference which still didn't make much sence. Needless to say I cancelled the order and will never to business with them again! EMPIRE TODAY WAS CHEAPER AND BETTER QUALITY AND INSTALLED NEXT DAY!!!
Lowes/Valspar Duramax self-priming? LIE! As long as you don't scrape the paint off, you're good. But, here's what the can says when you take a magnifying glass to read it.: "Bare Wood: [like what you get when you follow the directions and scrape] For maximum performance, ONE COAT OF EXTERIOR PRIMER and two coats of Duramax are REQUIRED." (emphasis mine). Please don't believe me. Take a magnifying glass into the store with you and read it for yourself on the back of the can. Just a flat-out, bald-faced lie. I'm a home-owner who has spent a lot of money at Lowe's over the years. For what they did to deceive me into this one $75.00 purchase, they have forfeited all future sales. Not only are they liars, they are idiots.
We recently purchased a washer, dryer, outside grill and a power washer from the Shawnee Ok store. We are very happy with our appliances we bought. A couple of months later we found out that if you are a veteran that you can get a 10% off of anything in the store. My husband is a vietnam vet,he has a card to prove it. We bought our items in May of this year. When we went back to Lowes and ask them about the discount, they said we were suppose to tell them at the time of purchase to get the discount.Since this discount is not advertised, how would we have known that?
Someone seriously needs to look into the goings on at Lowes in Starkville, Mississippi. I heard horror stories a year ago but decided after that long surely they had gotten their act together by now.....NOT!!!!!! We set out to get new carpeting and vinyl flooring with their recent 18 month interest free program. At 7:oo pm the night the offer expired I called Lowes flooring depart to find out our cost so we could purchase....Imagine their surprise to find out we hadn't been called....the order was given to another flooring employee who was supposed to finish getting cost together and call us....we never received call and we left 2 cell phone numbers, two work numbers and our home land line number!!!! never called, not messages nothing...then they couldn't locate our paperwork....this is at 7:30 pm....and when they did, square footage and cost on vinyl and carpet hadn't been completed....it was (quickly) done by employee I spoke with....even though the store dropped the ball, they wouldn't give us an extra day on the 18 months interest free financing to make sure everything was correct....I even heard the employee telling the store manager it was their fault....NO go....Oh we were upset. My husband wasn't getting any of it (an order close to $9,000.00) but I talked him into the vinyl, he refused to do the carpet. Install was scheduled today, October 6th..I take off work w/out pay to be home and Lowes calls at 8am saying they can't install, the seam sealer and glue for the flooring wasn't included in the order. The installer discovered this when they went pick up flooring and supplies before coming to our house. So this inconvienced the installer, me and our ill family member who lives with us. Lowes had at the minimum of 3 full weeks to make sure the order was complete and it didn't happen.....there is so much more I could say detailing this complaint but I am so totally pissed I have run out of words....Also, Lowes, had the flooring delivered to them within 48 hours of purchase, they didn't even wait the 3 days to see if we would cancel the order...I wanted the new carpet we picked out so bad and we were going to go ahead and purchase a quartz countertop and new stove and microwave, I'm afraid to risk it now.....especially carpet installation...My friend had berber installed last year and the installer cut the carpet too short at the thresholds....it took her months and months and months......they finally sent someone out. This person put threshold stripping in to cover up the mistake...NOT QUALITY WORK......I THINK MAYBE IT IS TIME TO HAVE OUR LOCAL NEWSPAPER DO AN ARTICLE ON THE LOWES PROBLEM.......
I have been waiting for a flooring quote for now 4 months. I have called repeatidly, I have spoken with several people who were going to "take it to the end" and did not. Now I can not seem to get my money back for the measurement. These people are a joke!
What the hell's the problem that the store in West Des Moines, Iowa they can't get me all the material I ordered two months ago to build a large garage and full size second floor. Every time I call they say my garage doors will be delivered, but for two weeks now I still don't have my garage doors. I am being billed to pay monthly payments, but that was not what I agreed to when I ordered $10,000.00 worth of material. Also this sheeting that was sent out is mostly CRAP! my carpenders can hardly use it because it's warped. I have had to buy several hundred dollars more of material to finish the garage because it was mis quoted. I believe that you need to make up the difference for all the material I had to buy locally. If anyone actually reads this you know how I feel about those ya'hoos
As an x- Lowes employee I can tell you what I saw... Upper Management had the brains of a squirrel and the people skills to go along with it. Lowes is suppose to be about customer service, and they are all about the bottom dollar. You remove quality people ( as I saw ) and replace them with bodies with a red vest. But, if the red vest doesnt have a clue about the products in the store, or how they are used then HOW do you expect to be sucessful. This page hosts tons of customers and previous employees that have the same complaint, POOR customer service and unfair and just wrong employee/employer relations. I hope this company goes bankrupt... and the mom and pop store that they shut down return. I purposely drive out of my way to go to a harware store to keep the money in our local economy and to keep the people who care about customer service.. Lowes is a terrible company along the same lines as Wal-mart
October 2, 2010 To Whom It May Concern: I am of the belief that Customer Service is the main priority of any business, especially in today’s economic times. My rule when receiving poor customer service is to boycott the business. That is exactly what I plan to do to Lowe’s from this point forward. My boyfriend and I went into your establishment today to make a purchase. We had been across the street at Home Depot and, because they did not have what we were looking for, came across the street to Lowe’s. The experience was, at best, terrible. The intent of the visit was to buy florescent lights to use in the garage. We had purchased eight lights prior to this visit and wanted to purchase the remaining four lights so all the lights were matching. The other merchandise purchased was lights to place on the outside of the house. It just so happened that an employee was in the lighting section assisting customers. This employee was neither friendly nor helpful; in fact, he as downright rude and unhelpful. First, he was blocking the isle so we were unable to get to the product we were purchasing. Once he stepped back to load another lady’s cart, my boyfriend proceeded to begin loading our cart. The employee bumped into him twice and almost hit him in the head with a box containing a florescent light fixture with no “excuse me” or apology. After that fiasco we headed to the checkout stand. The cashier rang up our purchase and because we were unable to see each item’s price as we checkout out because the Customer Service Screen was turned away from us, Justin checked the receipt upon completion of the transaction. It was at this time that he noticed the lights rang up for $13.62 instead of the $9.98 that the shelf label indicated as the price. He mentioned this to the cashier and she immediately called for a price check. The Front End Clerk informed us at this time that we had grabbed the wrong box and we would have to go to Customer Service for a refund. At the Customer Service desk we were given a refund. Again, we could not see the transaction being taken care of because the customer screen on the cash register was turned toward the Customer Service Representative, not towards the customer as required by Federal Law. We thought the clerk would offer to have four of the correct lights brought up for us, but did not. We had to ask if someone could bring up the lights and she said, “I can have someone meet you back there but…” At this point, Justin told her to never mind and that we would go somewhere else. You need to understand that we chose your store to purchase merchandise to improve our home. We were not treated respectfully and that is unacceptable. We do not want any sort of restitution from you. No coupons or gift cards. Nothing. We will never be shopping in your establishment again. Furthermore, we will be sharing this experience with everyone we know any chance we get. Nothing good will be said about you establishment. It is a shame that I have to be writing this letter, but I would not want someone else to have to go through what we have been through today. I hope this letter gives your establishment some insight and you take what is being said to heart and improve the customer service you provide. As I said before, we will never shop in your store again and plan to tell other individuals to avoid Lowe’s as well. We have no problem giving our business to Home Depot, or Ace Hardware, even if the cost is more for us. Your Lost Customers,
This complaint has nothing to do with any store or product. I would like to know how you allow unsolicited charges to be applied to my bill. On my October statement I was charged $23.95 for card security. No approval, signature or verbal commitment on my part. It has lowered my opinion of Lowe"s because it is outright theft as well as being illegal. How it is done is a good question. Should it be done? No. Then I get a song and dance about that we have no control over what gets charged. Whose card is it any how? Who is in control? It does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling about doing any more business with Lowe's. Thank You LJH

I went to Lowes for appliances. I was told I had to have someone come and measure for $35.00 and I said ok. They came they measured and I went to order appliances. Well, the installer said he could not put in the wine cooler because it was way too small. I called and asked for it to picked up and you would have thought I committed murder by the way I was treated. The girl was Snotty ! She then said she would call me back in 5 minutes. Well, 45 minutes later I called and there was no answer at her phone so I called the store manager and she politely told me they would be there friday to pick it up. I am not using names because I would assume she would loose her job for that as she probably should.
I'd like to chime in here. Maybe they don't have everything the commentators posted. In business for myself, the rule is you can't please everyone. Lowes is clean and fully stocked. Sometimes a vendor or supplier cannot make deadline, sometimes a purchase clerk may underestimate an order, sometimes new help may not be up to speed on displays. Lowes has good staff, clean aisles, good inventory and a desire to provide customer service and products
