As a long time customer who had a $20k credit line along with my husband (joint account), they dropped it to $10k approximately three years ago due to the ailing economy. I understand this as companies don't want to see open lines of credit that somebody might abuse, even those other than the cardholder. However, I recently received our new cards and was told our credit line was now, get this...$224.00 So it went from $20k, to $10k to $224.00!!! All because they tell me "we've not used it recently." Ok, here's a tip for Lowe's -- you might want to email, mail a US mail letter, call me, or maybe send a smoke signal or something as I'm plenty ticked that the morons you sub-contract out to to handle your credit issues tell me I have to "reapply" -- well that lowers my credit, when we can least afford to have that happen. Our credit scores are both above 800 and that's as good as it gets. Never late on our bill, not once, and this is how they treat people they want to spend their money there?!? Lowe's is getting as bad as Home Depot. Please support the "little guy" in your area. These big box shops are ruining the Mom and Pop stores and this is what happens: arrogance!

I was at the Knoxville TN location on chapman hwy complainign to the front desk about a product they sell called Concern weed killer, supposed to be safe for pets and kids made of corn glutten. I had some very sick pets, this stuff smells good and taste good to all animals who want to eat it, dogs, cats, my pets were vomiting this stuff up for hours I thought they would die, they were eating it. I told the lady at customer service about it, she seemed very concerned tried to offer me a refund for the 4 bags I purchased but had to call the manager. The guy seemed young, inmature and uncoverned, sorta smirky like yeah right sure your pets got sick and sure you bought 4 bags but dont have a receipt. The woman/clerk seemed more mature and concerned , too bad she is not the store manager. I only got a refund for one bag, although I was not seeking a refund I just wanted them to know it is a dangerouse product. I was not impressed with the manager too chauvinistic. Otherwise I like lowes and I like that they discount the dying plants instead of trashing them in the dumpster so I shop there

i have done business with lowes for 20-25 years, purchasing appliances for rental property and my own home, along with other items as needed. the past 3-4 years the store has become so customer unfriendly and unhelpful that i have ceased buying from them in favor of any of several other options locally. however, i have wanted to replace some windows in my rental and make them uniform with what has already been done (unfortunately by lowes). reluctantly i went to lowes and arranged for measurements to be taken, which was done by a very competant and helpful installer. when i tried to make final arrangements to order and install the windows, the attitude was we will order, receive, and install on our time table, at our convenience. basically, i am asked to allow an indeterminate time (probably a month out) before i can hope to have the work done, and i am to pay in full for this wonderful service before they will iniate the order. this is unsatisfactory. i need to have this project completed in a timely manner in order to make it available for rental. this is the last of any purchases or projects that i will initiate with lowes.

I am writing concerning specific to both the Clearwater, Florida Stores - I have never in my life seen such lazy employees with absolutely no customer service skills - the only ones that care are the people that work the customer service desk at the clearwater store at US 19. The rest need to be put in a training class on how to greet a guest, and find out what our needs are when we walk into your stores. I have to go find someone - I walked into your store and it took me 30 minutes to ask one question! Every time I went to the plumbing department you could not find anyone, I was told that they were at lunch or on break - unacceptable! I feel completely ignored every single time I walk into either store - I have spent over $5,000 in the past three weeks in renovating my home and it upsets me every single time I have walked in - noone greets you, they literally ignore you - until I finally lost it and had to say "what is wrong with you people". I will take my business to Home Depot. Noone has a clue on what they are doing- you need to learn from Home Depot - follow their path - many other friends have told me the same - there are way too many other stores to buy from.

My car was hit in the parking lot at Lowes this week while I was in the store. When I asked the store manager to review their security cameras for a plate number so I could report it to the police, I was denied the information. They stated that they would not release the customer information. I will NO LONGER be a Customer of your store if that the way you treat people!

Please somebody do something about the service at the Long Bech Ca. store on Carson Blvd. I thought it was just me but a friend of mine said the service stinks. You need help and mobody wants to come near you. I'm 70 years old and I have to crawl under and over pallets to get some concrete while people behind the counter watch. I have spent all big money with Home Depot but only small money at Lowes. Unless they change I won't even spend little money there. Close the damn store and let Home Depot use it and I give HD. 5 stars. BTW I am a landlord so I buy all the time and you are missing out. Just a thought.

I took a fall in a Lowe's store over a huge rug left lying in an open cart in the aisle. I fell on my behind, scraped and bruised my left arm and hurt my left shoulder. Manager insisted I go to emergency room to get it checked so my brother took me straight from store to hospital. Three hours later I had a sprained shoulder and bruises. Lowe's has not paid the bill and now I'm getting calls from the hospital. I'm writing a letter to Lowe's corporate as I feel they are the responsible party. I'm fine now but it does not help that they could care less that this will end up on my credit....

Hi Folks, I made the unfortunate mistake of purchasing a HE maytag washer from Amhearst NH, Lowes, yes folks 35 days later the washer wouldent work, so i called Lowes and they sent a 2nd rate appliance subcontractor to my house, after 1.5 hrs and 2 misdiagnostics, the guy asked my wife for the house phone so he could csll tech support, until he gave up and told us the parts wouldent be availabe for 2 weeks. i dragged the washer outta the basment and up the stairs, drove back 50 miles to the Amheast store and dragged it back in the front door. Never again.

I bought two fans for my commercial office(Hunter fanaway with remote). When installed one light worked and the other one didn't. I thought no big deal I will go back to Lowes where it was purchased and get another light bulb. Guess what Lowes doesn't carry the lights for this fan. I guess my first complaint is why not? My second complaint is Hunter doesn't have this bulb on any of there sights either. Why not? Do you all really expect the lights NOT to go out on these fans? Corporate really needs to take a look at what it is doing up there and show some responsibility for the product they sell and have the parts available for the consumer. We were told go on line and find it. I have spent over $7000.00 with Lowes in the last 3mos on my building and instead of being helpful in this matter I'm told go on line and find it. As a consumer and Lowes customer that really made me feel my business was appreciated!:(

I want to get an estimate on installing new windows (to the tune of $15k or more) but Lowes wants to charge me $35 for the estimate. Home Depot --- ZERO.... I called the Corporate Office and they wont give on the charge either. Lowes....you are messed up!! Get a grip. You are not facing reality..... I hope this makes it to the President and even the Board of Directors...... PISSED WITH LOWE'S

Why bother writing this stuff people?!!! This isn't even something they will SEE! It says so if ya bother to read the heading. Don't you know that they could care less? They don't even read this stuff...they have it here as a pacifier for YOU all. Look, both Home Depot and Lowes have a garunteed market because they are basically THE biggest suppliers of these goods in the world. They KNOW you have extremely limited choices and HAVE to do this shopping at one of their stores. Captive audience, supply fits the demand, biggest game in town, earnings in the billions because of labor costs and foreign production of 89% of their stock allows them to do whatever they want (oh and don't forget their lobbyists) They don't HAVE to give a D@/\/\M about customer service, employee competency and equitable pay for said employees or ANY customer gripes. Like so many companies in the USA, they are completely INSULATED from you and anyone else who complains. Want to make a change? IF you could get Americans to literally stop buying at either busines(s)( yeah right, can't even get Americans to help each other), for a month, they might listen......maybe....but with all the money they have and keep making, I doubt it. So quit writing to the ether or quit buying at Lowes or Home Depot!

THEY TOLD ME TO NEVER SHOW A RECEIPT BECAUSE LOWES DOES NOT KEEP UP WITH EACH STORE’S SALE ITEMS. I CAN DOUBLE OR TRIPPLE MY REFUND AMOUNT WITHOUT A RECEIPT BY USING THIS METHOD: BUY SALE CURTAIN RODS, FERTILIZER, AND OTHER ITEMS AT ONE LOWES AND DRIVE TO ANOTHER LOWES & RETURN THE ITEMS FOR GIFT CARDS FOR THE WHOLE RETAIL VALUE (INSURE THAT THE PURCHASED ITEMS ARE NOT ON SALE IN THE STORE THEY ARE RETURNED TO) THESE “RACKED UP CARDS” ARE EXCHANGED FOR EXPENSIVE GOODS –TABLES, GAZABOS, GRILLS & SOLD AT YARD SALES. I was a lowes employe at harlingen store 2468 for 2 year and i have never worked in a place where so much favoratisim.The thing that i dont understand is that how is it possible that every month they quit or get fired why doesnt corporate investigates what going wrong with that store or whose making the wrong decisions.There no manager respects you.I wouldnt recommend no body to work for lowes in Harlingen.

I tried to work for Lowes in Delta Park(Portland,OR) Bad place to work. Management rude and unprofessional.Doesn't matter how nice you try to be, or your skills. Couldn't stay, even tho' I needed job. Wouldn't want others to have to go thru' what I did.

As a long time customer of over $50,000+ and a previous employee at our local Lowes here in Madisonville, KY. (I still know lots of employees that currently work there; ZeeAnn, Ralph, Rachel, Ashley, Tina, Joan, Donna, Curtis, Wendy, Jennifer, Janie and others) I went on my lunch (30 minutes) to purchase 6 little things. I got 2 little packages of nuts and bolts (which the young man in the hardware section doesn't know up from down.....I ask for a bolt smaller than 3/16 and he gives me a 1/4" and a 3/8"-Really?!!) and 4 blank outlet covers. Those outlet covers were listed on the shelf for 92 cents, they rang up $1.27. The lady wrote down the number then had me run back to make sure it was the correct item. I ran over there then here she comes.....I politely showed her that yes what it is ringing up as is wrong. I didn't have enough cash on me so I knew I needed to grab my checkbook. I wrote out the check for the little $6.57, I added my phone number, my birthdate and my drivers license number. The lady said I would have to get my license. I had parked at the lumber section and was checking out in the line that would get me out the fastest. I failed to get my license out of my vehicle. I went over to Tina at the service desk.....that I use to work with that knows I have spend thousands and thousands of dollars there. She looked at the lady behind her that said well,.......I said it is $6.57 really? I said nevermind I'll go to True Value. What garbage!! No only is my time wasted because of dealing with incompetent people but the lady wouldn't even take my measly little check. It will be a cold day before I step foot back into that store! We are ready to lay new floors throughout our house! That is why I've been painting all of my rooms, thus spending more money on paint at Lowes! Not anymore. My husband has been to Lowes looking at their flooring- I GUESS WE WON'T BE DOING ANY BUSINESS WITH LOWES! We have furnished every appliance in our house from there. Getting ready buy more appliances.....double washer and dryers. I will not spend one more penny in this store!!!

I must remain anonymous due fear of reprisal. I am writing about store #1641 Manager Mike Bennet and Josh Morrison and also Brandy the head Cashier , last name unknown. This store is in Clarksburg , West Virginia. I want to inform you that the law is being broken , their sexual harassment going on also Lowes is opening themselves up to a class action law suite. Sorry you need to know about this store . The employee's are treated like animals. Being worked 7.5 hours a day and not allowed to have a brake or lunch. =illegal. They make promises IN writing that they never keep ie:changing hours worked etc . And when a female employee asked why they are not going by the written agreement told to "wiggle her ass back to her position" This was said by Josh Morrison. When employees ask if they can go on break because they need to use the restroom they are told "breaks are a privilege" this was said by Brandy the head cashier and she told employee(s) they can us a pot in the garden area to relieve themselves. Employees are Never given a employee hand book. They have to take a picture with their cell phones of work schedules every week otherwise management will come in and change it at any time when they say once it is up hours can not be changed. If you dare cross them they WILL get even . Telling you have a choice either work full time all summer then they will not call you in ALL winter but they warn you that you can NOT file for unemployment because they will say you still have a job OR the other choice is you will agree to work EVERY WEEKEND AND EVERY HOLIDAY. They have laid off every female management worker and replaced with men. I am giving you the heads up that I have family that is being treated like this and I do not want to see a class action law suit against you like Wal-Mart because everyone is terrified they will lose their jobs at this store. Please send someone out their to help these poor employees. I am sure you do not want to see this happening. Thank you for reading this.

houston, tx, gulfgate store. i found a light fixture i really liked for 18.99. i was told the store was out of this discontinued item but the pasadena/fairmont store had 15. i made the trip there and the cashier ckd out my request, went to the manager but they did not honor the price. all other stores honor the better price from competitors! but i wont be going to LOWES anymore and will most certainly not recommend LOWES to anyone.

I have to comment on my experience I have had at the Lowes in Macedonia Ohio. I went to Lowes sunday night to get information for sheds or storage buildings, really just to get a price idea. I headed to the project desk, where i was informed i could be helped. There was one guy in the back office but he was on a phone and didn't seem to be working, maybe he was on a break, but he did not want to acknowledge I was standing there. I was about to leave and go to home depot when a younger guy, Ben, walked up, asking if we needed any help. Ben helped us out immensely! By showing us all the different options each shed "package" has and what we really needed and within the price range we were trying to spend. We did end up buying a shed package that was at the store that same night, instead of ordering one. He did try to push for Lowes to install it, but I told him I wanted to try this project on my own with my husband and other family members. He smiled and agreed. I'm not sure if he gets extra money for it to be installed with lowes, but it didn't seem to bother him at all that we did not need that option. He even helped pick out the wood and loaded my husbands truck, later! He never seemed to be bothered by anything, it was very busy inside the store that day, and wanted to help in any way he could. The knowledge he had and the patience for us seemed to never end. I hope he hears of this praise. One of the friendliest workers at any home improvement store i have ever encountered. My memorial day was spent building a shed, that i now love! Thank you again! Lisa
