The Lowes in Houston off of I-10 (9640 Old Katy Fwy) is the worst. We showed up today at 7:44pm to get a part we needed for a sink. The doors were already locked. A cart boy saw us and said, "it's about that time." I ask him to look at his watch and he confirmed that they should not be closed yet BUT added that he was "just a cart boy." There are such relaxed standards at this location. It's very sad. I won't be back.

I purchased a Troy Bilt riding mower from Lowe's with an extended warranty. It's 4 months old and went dead. I contacted Lowe's for service and they scheduled a pick-up (in a week). I took off of work to meet someone in the 4 hour window they had given me. Nobody showed up, not even a phone call. Called Lowe's the next day and they told me someone would call me back in 48 hours. (Grass didn't stop growing) Still no phone call. After speaking with a representative, I was told to call the servicing shop. Basically, they wanted to wash their hands of me. At that point I asked to speak to a supervisor and was subsequently to speak to a supervisor, was disconnected. They didn't call me back. I'm calling Lowe's corporate offices now. I would not recommend making any major purchases from Lowe's. Definitely not an extended warranty. Pretty worthless!

Well I called the service center that Lowe's told me would fix my riding mower. Turns out they were an hour away and the guy told me he wouldn't come pick-up my mower. He wouldn't send anyone out this far away to even look at it. Kind of made me wonder what this extended service agreement I bought was. At the time of sale Lowe's had told me it was for at-home OR service center repair. At the time of my phone call they didn't have anyone to do any type of service. HOW DO YOU DEFINE FRAUD? After another frustrating 2 hours on the phone the Lowe's solution was the same one promised to me 4 days ago (that never materialized). Someone would authorize a work order a call me within 24 hours. (didn't happen) Another call... spoke with a supervisor this time and was told the service center that never showed up last time was going to do a pick-up again. We'll see what happens this time. Oh yea, the service center is 2 hours away. Kind of understand why they blew me off last time. It seems like when a company sells you an extended warranty, they should have someone available to service your product, if not I'd say they're selling empty promises.

On Sunday August 28 I wanted to buy approximately one thousand dollars worth of carpet from Lowes in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, store # 1127. I was required to pay $35.00 for an installer to come to my residence and measure. The installer was to contact me within two days. After four days I called the store to inquire why I had not been contacted. I received no consideration from the store manager. All he could say was I could get my $35.00 back if I came to the store and requested a refund. This store is a 36 mile round trip from my residence! They did not complete their part of the sale, yet I must drive back to them to get a refund! I will not ever purchase anything from Lowes again unless I receive some consideration/compensation for their screw up.

I have never had such terrible customer service or rather lack of customer service in any storeI shop at.The asst. store manager was the poorest excuse for someone in his position. The lowes store is located in Madison,Tn.My Mother, myself,my brother,&sister-in-law filed a complaint the day we were there and the manager laughed but said he would tell the manager & have him call us.We are still waiting for that call.Needless to say we will never shop there again.

I don't know what recognition these posts get but I just wanted to put my complaint out there. I was behind a LOWES truck heading onto a main highway and when the truck picked up speed the rocks from his previous delivery flew off the flatbed and into my car busting my windshield. I immediately called the number on the truck to report it. I tried to get the number off of the truck but the sticker was not readable and was worn out. They still filed my complaint and turned it in only to tell me they were not responsible for fixing my windshield because I could not identify the truck. When I contacted the store in Gastonia nc which is the store the truck was from they argued this matter with me saying "well if you couldn't read it on the road what makes you think you can read it now"? The lady in HR was very rude and needless to say I lost my temper with her. I have no reason to ever make something like this up. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me. I have enjoyed shopping with lowes for years. But this has changed my mind for me. I lost respect for this billion dollar company that is too cheap to afford to pay for a windshield that they are responsible for busting. I've spent thousands of dollars in my home repairs and many other things with them and get no help in return for their mishaps. I will not be shopping with them anymore. Thanks, but no thanks.

I ordered a stove from Lowe's July 11, 2011. I was told the stove would be delivered July 18 so I had my old stove removed. To date, Aug 24, I still do not have a stove and no one seems to know when I will be getting one. I have ordered and reordered 3 different stoves and none of them have come in. The lack of communication between staff is terrible. No one returns phone calls. My service has been terrible. If I ever get the stove, I will most likely never order another product from Lowes again. Needless to say, the stove was paid for when it was ordered.

I bought a Whirpool Front loading Automatic Washer Model # WFW9050 from Lowes. I bought it 20 April 2011. August 15 it broke. I even bought the extended warranty offered at the time. I paid about $600 dollars for a washer that lasted four months. I contacted the company to execute the Whirlpool warranty. The Whirlpool service person came out and said it It has a bad water sensor it will take 8 to 10 days to get the part. When I bought it, the salesman at Lowes told me any problem would be resolved within 24 to 48 hours with their well equipped knowledgeable service team of professionals . Lowes said it is past their 90 day policy so they don't want it back. . I'm just stuck with out a washer that works for two more weeks. I have no confidence in either company anymore. We all learn from our mistakes. A wise man once said "It is Important to learn from the mistakes of others because you will never live long enough to make them all yourself." I made a mistake by buying this Whirlpool washer from Lowes and absolutely don't buy an extended warranty !

This is a letter wrote to wooster ohio store manager, Its one thing to have to deal with all the errors, when we made a major purchase of whole house pella windows. But what i cant handle is the lies that came from the manage, from the installed sales department. When the windows were ordered wrong, Both times, She has blamed everything on the sales kid that came to our house. Has even told me that he has been fired for incompetency. When in fact she made just has many incompetent errors and in turn should be fired herself !! When the windows were ordered the second time, I exclusively asked her, how is lowes going to prevent this from happening again? She PROMISED me over the phone, that she was going to re-order them herself to assure correctness. Then when the windows were wrong a second time, and needed to be re-ordered a third time, she blamed the sales kid again. Was he even still with the company at that time? or was that a lie too? Thats when i found out about the bill and more lies !! During the first error, she told me we were receiving an $1800 refund and they would reorder the windows and try and have them installed asap. What she failed to tell me, was that, she was going to re-charge our account another $860 for the reorder of windows. Which in truth that would not be a $1800 credit, making it only $940. She very sneakingly did this, by telling me that she needed my account number to issue the refund. I asked why would you need our number for a refund, that she should be able to put back money into the account no problem, but not charge the account. She also said that normally the account holder would have to come into the store for these types of transactions. I again asked her, why, that we were only making a refund, not a charge. She said that was how they did it for security reasons. That's when i revealed to her, that i did not have the account number, nor did i have a bill in the house that i could pull the number from. I told her my husband had that information and that i was unable to contact him at that time due to his traveling. She then asked me for his last four digits of his social security number and his birth date. That maybe she could make the refund transaction with just that information instead. She said she was able to complete the refund and that she would mail me a receipt, which i received. When we realized the windows were wrong the second time, that's when she revealed to me that we were re-charged $860. But nobody has ever mailed me a receipt !! Who authorized this charge, who signed, wheres our receipt???? When my husband questioned her about this charged, she outright LIED again and said, Well Mr. Z, your wife authorized the charge transaction!! Which in fact, I never authorized that transaction, nor did even have any knowledge of that transaction, She even hid it from us by not sending us a receipt. When i asked her, where was the receipt, she said , Oh, it must be in your file, didnt "they" send you one? Well guess what,,, I couldn't authorize a transaction even if i wanted to, due to the fact that, I DONT HAVE AUTHORIZATION ON THIS ACCOUNT!! My name is not on the account, i did not sign any charges. The transaction that she made, she made on her own, she charged our account without our knowledge. And she tried blaming me for her FRAUDULENT transaction. Is it Lowes policy to allow transaction to be made by anyone, especially by lowes employees? without even so much as a signature???? NOBODY HAD AUTHORIZATION TO CHARGE THIS ACCOUNT, This is fraud, and I would now like to know how you are going to handle this incompetent employee, how its not going to happen again, and if our account is going to be refunded another $1800 for the second error?? If you rather, i can take this up another level to your district manager. If that's the option you choose, please send me contact information. Regretfully, Sally Z P.S. I am livid she tried blaming me for making an un-authorized transaction on this account and still trying to contact district manager.

I recently stepped down from working at one of the Lowe's stores in Ohio, after about 10 yrs of service. When I started at this store it was one of the best stores in our Region, and then it happended. Good Mangers and employees were treated poorly and so, called poor Mangers finally drove the store to were it is today. When I left I was asked by the store Manager why I was leaveing and what he could do to fix things and I thought to myself for a minute and said if he is asking me how to fix it, it is time for me to go.

I wouldn't even give Lowe's in Columbus, MS one star, but the ratings will go no lower. I purchased a riding lawn mower in May 2010 for $1,800.00, along with a 3 year warranty, since my livelihood is lawn maintenance. When the mower started smoking, I brought it in for repairs. After keeping the mower for weeks, they informed me that they weren't sure the repairs fell under the warranty I had bought, and I would have to pay for the shipping of the mower to Birmingham for further investigation, I paid for the warranty, nothing has been proven that the problems with the mower would not fall under the warranty, yet because they do not have specialist at their repair shop who knows the difference, I HAVE to the one to pay for their incompetence? I asked for a further explanation, and the customer service representative was VERY VERY rude and short. After I asked to speak to management, they told me mng wasn't in. Does no one oversee this store?!?! After several phone calls mng is NEVER in. Please be advised that I am seeking legal counsel if someone does not respond to this matter immediately. Lowes tells you one thing and does another and does NOT stand behind the guarantee. I will be taking this matter public with all names listed if I do not receive some courtesy and assistance soon.

I read several pages of complaints, and I want to lend some advice to the customers and Mooresville. I've been a vendor of Lowe's as well as their competitors, and I always prefer to do business with Lowe’s. They’re a better company, and I intend to grow with them. Please remember that Lowe’s isn’t manufacturing the washer and dryer in the back of the store nor do they have a bagging plant where mulch is packaged. When you have a problem with a product purchased at Lowe’s, I suggest you include the supplier when holding somebody accountable for your frustration. We too want you to have a pleasurable shopping experience, so make sure you give the manufacturer / supplier / vendor a chance to make things right. We’re all in this together, and I’m confident (given the opportunity) a vendor can do a lot more than you know to correct a poor shopping experience.

Do you carry anything besides plants that is made in America?

I am absolutely amazed at what I just found out! We have been Lowe's customers for decades and right now, I am switching to Home Depot! We have friends who own a horse rescue farm. These good people rescue (and pay for) horses and donkeys from kill pens in the Midwest. These are animals who are scheduled to be slaughtered if no one rescues or adopts them. These folks have a barn which is badly in need of leak repairs. I was informed by them this morning that they have approached Lowe's for some help with materials and they were told that Lowe's '...only help humans, not animals'!! Home Depot, however, has so far donated gift cards for fundraising events (and we have not approached them on the barn issue as yet) so from now on, I will be sure that my family no longer shops at Lowe's (we shop there at least twice a week); we will now switch to Home Depot. And I see by their website that one cannot write to them directly... everything is FAQ's. And here we were some of their biggest fans! No more - I am done!

I wanted to let you know that in this day and time of mediocre customer service, lack of respect, etc. that there is still some very hard working, respectful people out there and several of them work for Lowes'. I live in Charleston, WV and recently purchased a fridge and electric oven from Lowes. The sales lady, Wanda, was beyond wonderful. She took her time with me and not because she thought I had a lot of money to work with (I was looking at scratch and dent items). Wanda and the delivery people were absolutely amazing!!I could not have asked for a better shopping experience and I will be back for all of my home improvement needs!!!

I received this Master Forge grill as a gift, and was something I really didn't want to return because of that. Unfortunately, the cover had a dent in the hood due to the fact that the way it is packed, a large grill panel easily pushes into the hood when shipped. While returning the Master Forge grill, I saw several others already built in the parking lot which had other issues. Some were rusting from the smoke pipe. Another had a broken weld from the pipe cover. A third had broken wheels. These were the assembled Master Forge versions so I could see getting one of these instead of assembling it myself was not an answer. I brought the hood in to hopefully swap it with another so I would not have to disassemble the rest to put back in the box. The Lowes item with the same sku had an entirely different barbecue in the box. It appeared to be manufactured identically, but was a different brand. Different tonal finish. Different nameplate & logo (not attractive at all) and would not work. It was a flatter black and dull. I went to another Lowes and they swapped out a hood from an assembled Master Forge model. (an hour waiting later) In the process of pulling off the hood, it ended up getting a large gouge along the side, but I was told it was the only one that wasn't dented and was so desperately glad to have a hood without a dent that I took it. I brought it home and figured I could touch up the gouge with barbecue paint later. I finished assembling it and the last part - the chimney - had to be screwed in place. It was literally the very last nut to finish assembly, and with one turn, it twisted off and away from the metal weld with a disconcerting 'pop'. As a result, the barbecue would no longer function safely. I had finally enough with the various problems that I had both seen and experienced with this grill. Gift or no gift, this Master Forge grill was going back. My advice is to skip this Master Forge grill entirely. If what I saw in the three identical Master Forge units I had the particular privilege of working with (and others on display) is any sign, it will not stand the test of time. Assembled parts may not stay in place - especially important ones like the wheels and smoke chimney - which I consider to be dangerous when using a burning hot grill -- and the paint finish is likely begin to rust fairly quickly like ones I saw on display. Even those on display in the store. It is too bad because it was a gift so I had every intention of barbecuing dinner as a thank you. I would suggest staying entirely away from this Master Forge brand as I certainly had bad experiences, and not just with one unit, but with several from two locations. With the time I lost in various assemblies, returns and try-agains, it was probably the worst product I have ever encountered, bar none. ** note ** Lowes has repeatedly REJECTED an honest review on this barbecue, and I think it is important for others to know what a potentially dangerous product it is. If there should be a fire, or other accident, they cannot say they were not made aware - and repeatedly so. Item #: 182316 | Model #:GR4002-013066 Master Forge ****** BUYER BEWARE ******

I recently purchased a Troy Built riding mower at Lowe's in Lincolnton, NC. I changed the oil regularly and after only ten months of ownership, there was a crack in the motor. I returned the mower to Lowe's and they sent it off to Troy built to be repaired. After almost a month, Lowe's called and informed me the mower could not be fixed due to failure on my part to put oil in it---I changed the oil six times in ten months. After calling Lowe's repeatedly without any help, I am still without a mower.

I ordered 8 fans online, 3 were available to be picked up at a store 40 miles from my home, 5 they had to ship. The fans for pickup were supposed to be available 20 minutes after the order was placed, I went 3 hours after to pick the up. On my arrival they claimed they didn't have any in stock, after some pressure on my part they did find the 3 fans, though they were very rude about it. Then the 5 fans arrived, I ordered 20" fans, they sent 14" fans. I called immediately spoke to a customer service rep, then waited 48 hours when I finally called them again demanding a supervisor. He said he "didn't know nothing" he was waiting for someone from the fullfillment center to call him, I had to pressure him to call the fullfillment center. Finally 2 hours later they claim they don't have the fans in stock. They tried to pull a bait and switch. So in conclusion the customer service at Lowes whether online or in store is all completely incompetent. I still don't have my fans and now have to search for them all over again.

I once the mistake of using Lowes in an attemt to grab up some soffitt repair items,a few minor tools,,and other small items for Sarurday Hunny-Do work. I'll never go back! Lowes is the non-working model of what so many big box retailers are putting themselves out of business with. I give you the following as my reason for using Home Depy ONLY! > In a cavernous store, with as many departments,I noted only 4 floor workers covering all departments and not doing a good job of it.But this can be a problem when you deliberately hire high schoolers, with zero home repair experience,so to pay only minimum wage, and no benefits, >Naturally, being short handed with non-professionals,there were people 5 deep waiting to ask for advice that was not to be had from a 19 year old kid who has never spent a day on a slab doing plumbing, framing,or wiring. I m 47, partially disabled veteran, where while I cant get out on the job sites anymore, my expertise in nearly every phase of home building/repair wouldnt even get me a call for an interveiw. My $14/hr wage requirement scared the hiring mgr off,as that is probably more than he/she earns. > Your lack of specific repair parts is a turn off that pushes men to home depot every time. You would also do better to get out of the appliance business. You are a home hardware and repair store, not an appliance show room. You may have buying power, but invest it into more and better home repair materials. > You want the repair and remodel and remodeling market,Less the "I just need a clothes basket, and soap holder" crowd. Walmart, K-Mart, bed,Bath and Betond have tnat covered quite well. >While Lowes has benn around now for around 10 years in the Jacksonville Florida market, I cant possibly see that your sales are anywhere near your competitors, Home Depot. Their department heads are actual former tradesmen, who can tell you with certainty, and often read the situation ahead and set their customers up with what is truely needed, which avoids returns.Yours, if you even have them, are gigh school kids. This does nothing to build customer confidence, > Lastly, I have never liked how the tools section, unmanned of course, is in the very front of the store. There is only a small minority of shoplifters, Put the tools back in an aisle, with a tool pro to guide customers to what they need, and not what they dont, Like 12pks of flashlights. Put masonry bits in with the drills. These are just a few reasons why I will not shop Lowes. It 9 out of 10 times ends as a waste of my time. And I go to Home Depot,Now, I dont even bother with Lowes, I've learned my lesson, Sincerely, David Abbott Neptune Beach, FL 3dabbott@gmail.come
