Worked at Lowes.....five years...never a negative note...did great proactive work...helped anyone in any department...used my brain....didn't understand all the stupid favoritism...stupid work at times then got fired...for a legitimate call out....this company is run by men who don't know anything else....I guess I feel bad for them...but the manipulation of their policies is just a way to weed out the smart working class...that don't do stupid...and expect things to make sense....see ya.

I wanted to address an issue that no one wants to address. First i must say i really like the people and the environment. Managers are nice and understand the everyday guys life who works and wants better for his family. The co-workers are a joy to interact with,and the guests are your neighbors and relatives.....If a person finds a better work environment then Lowes it is very rare,(personal experience). Yes i do work for Lowes and through my journeys, careers, jobs, and life experiences i can not ever remember feeling this good about working for a company and to toot my own horn i have worked for some of the top companies in their field in this great country of ours while always exceeding expectations in every one of them. I first started looking at Lowes racial and gender data to see if my assumptions where wrong. Dealing with inequality in America is something we must all come to grips with no matter what gender, race, or religion we are...... I have noticed a trend at Lowes in my city. The area demographics do match in regards to the labor force...but not managerial positions. If a study was inacted on all manager positions compared to the city demographics it would be disheartening. As it was for me to just evaluate 3 stores in my general area. i started looking at this anomoly after submitting for 10 different jobs inside the organization. From fulltime specialist to mager positions,I am fully qualified for any and all but did not warrant an interview for any. Ofcourse this note will be seen as an upset person who did not get the jobs desired BUT NO. I bleed red for LOwes, and no matter what i love what Lowes stands for. IMPACT.....always there for the customer. But being and educated American i must say this...Evaluate everyone accordingly, dont just give out a position because they are managers looking to move backwards in the organization, which is what filled the desired positions. These people had their chance and simply want a check for if they truly wanted Lowes to succeed they would have stayed in a higher position to control success. Lets not hire simply because an uncle requested to hire someone he knows. Lets not hire because they look like the rest of the managers. Look deeper and you will find that Lowes is a top notch company needing top notch qualified help. Lowes deserves educated people looking to better themselves, their company and their country. I visited Lowes store in 1001 W Oakland Park FL for the last time !!!!!!! Coming out with the cart,trying to handle it I ask the person at the door,Please. be careful with your feet, she yelled back at me..."NO YOU BE CAREFUL WITH ME"... Smiling to reduce her lack of courtesy and professional manners I asked her to understand I am not very good pushing carts. She continue yelling and making ironic remarks about what I just bought.. I apologize for not identifying myself but if Lowes hires this kind of people who literally verbally "ASSAULT" customers...I would be very afraid of personal and/or family wellbeing with retailation. I live in Bloomsburg pa . We were recently flooded and had to gut our first floor. I receive a flier from you in the mail with prices valid 10/27 thru 10/31. On page ten of the flier there is a picture of a living room painted with a paint color I love and would like to paint my downstairs dining and living room. Unfortunately it doesn't state what color it is. Help! This is the perfect color. Is there anyway I could find out the color? Please help. Thank u!

Can't even give it one star. Purchased a Whirlpool Refrige, on 22 Oct 2011, agreed to have it delivered on 29 Oct 2011. Received a phone call on 29 Oct 2011 at 0835 am from LOWES stating it would be delivered between 10 am & 12pm. Well at 1pm it still had showed up. Called the store, and was told that the driver was in an accident, and that it might be able to be delivered today, I responded that it was a bunch of crap, that I kept my part of the agreement and they should keep theirs. Well you know haw managers act. As fars as I'm concerned they can keep the Frig, zero my account, and I will purchase from HOME DEPOT, OR SEARS.

I was in your store on Fri. Oct. 21st. made a purchase of 4 items, asked for a veterans discount, and was told i could not get one. This store is about 10 miles from my home. I also went to another Lowe!s store about 30 miles away, and made my purchase of 8 or so items, and they asked me if I was a veteran and would I like a discount. Why is it that some stores give vets a 10% discount and some don~t give anything. We have a program called (return-a-favor) for all veterans in our county and was told that Lowe~s is one of the biggest to honor this program. WHAT HAPPENED???? I buy a lot of stuff from your store,and I think the U.S. veteran deserves a discount. If it were not for the veteran that kept this country free, there would not be a Lowe~s store anywhere. I would like a reply,My email will be with this note as I send it.

i love lowes, i use peoples credit cards and make online orders , big bux, and then go pick it up at the store, they dont even check id or credit card... i just walk in and walk out, and you pay for it.... workers are all dumb there, every single one of them. no joke - thats the point of this response... peace

I wrote a complaint on this site and I made the mistake of putting my phone number and I get calls several times a month asking if I am Lowes complaint department. NEVER include your name address of phone number. I want my removed.

The wife bought a pressure washer for me for christmas last year at the Brewer Maine Lowes. It sat unopened in the box until two weeks ago when I needed it. I put it together and followed the start up instructions provided. The pressure washer ran for 30 seconds and then died. I called the problem number provided for the next 7 days, they never returned my calls or answered the phone. This Task Force 1600 pressure washer is absolute junk. I took it back to the store it was purchased at and they said they can not take it back because it was sold over 30 days ago. I promptly told the clerk that it is theirs either way because its junk and they sold it to my wife. I left that 20 lbs of junk right there and left. I used to be a loyal Lowes customer but as of today I will be taking my business to the local Home Depot store and I will be letting all my friends and business associates that the junk they buy at Lowes will not be stood behind.

you buy a water heater...wow my sister brought a water heater at Lowes, it cost over 900.00, she was not informed of all the Extra costs...of over 500.00 . Wow...never heard of anything like this for a water heater. My husband could have flown down from Alaska and put a water heater in for that price...wow

My wife bought me a troy bilt "horse" riding lawn mower for father's day 2010. I have had some trouble lately, a couple of weeks ago my engine blew up. Since my wife bought the mower we built and moved into a new house All my paperwork for this mower was lost. My wife spent about $1500.00 cash on this mower. I have been to our Lowes,they have found the mower in their computers but refused help except a 800 phone number that got me nowhere. Pathetic. Pathetic Pathetic. Thats all I've got to say about the Lowes we purchased around $3000 of fencing. Because of Lowes the 1st fencing contractor that was suppose to install it, Southern Fencing, the wife of the owner of Southern Fencing called me up and blessed me out then hung up on me. Between getting the fencing problems we encountered & incorrect billing that we were promised to "make up" for what we went through. a little over 5 months has passed and still dealing with it. Then the Lowes mgr David Altizer, in not a very pleasant tone in his voice, told me to stop calling his boss. He forgets WHO is helping furnish his paycheck. This is not the first problems we have encountered either when it comes to installing various different things. The first door we purchased & had scheduled to be installed was RESCHEDULED so they could send the contractor on another job. The 2nd door we had purchased had to be special ordered because of the size. It came in dented & LOWES was going to deliver it to us anyway. Fortunately there was an honest employee that advised us the door was dented. Then when the door came in again then we got the run around of having a contractor even show up. The fencing problem however has really really done me in for purchasing items for my home.

I wrote a message on here about 3/4 days ago about Lowes wrongfully firing my husband but needless to say it did Not show up. He worked for them for 12 years n got fired because of 2nd hand smoke, he was at a friends house watching a foot ball game an the guy lit up a joint, my husband does not smoke! Well next day when he went to work ( he was a delivery driver) he was in a accident not his fault. he was sent to take a drug test and pot showed up in his system and thet fired him! He told Lowes how it must of gotten in his system and asked to take test over but was told no! There was another guy that failed drug test about year before and was told that if he took a drug class he could keep his job, but the guy quit, He Did smoke pot. But they didn't offer my husband the same choice they just fired him! Now 2/12 months latter and now he can't even get unemployment because of the reason he got fired. Now how is that fair? Now were behind on our bills Becouse of this. Just want to say to Lowes that you haven't heard the last from me!!!

I worked for Lowes in Gainsville, fl for almost 13years, got fired because of 2nd hand smoke. I was at a friends house watching a foot ball game and the owner of the house lit up a joint, I dont smoke. next day at work they done a piss test and I failed, Well I told them what happend that I Did Not Smoke! And even asked to take the test over! But was told they don't do that, and they fired me. I past Every poss test for the past 13 years! Now that's on my file and can't get unemployment! Gone on 3 months now with No Money!! Can't Pay My Bills Now! About a year ago Lowes fired another guy for smoking pot and He Did Smoke! Lowes told Him that He Could Keep His Job if he went to a drug rehab.something to that affect. But they wouldn't offer the same to Me! I was a Hard Worker! All my customers liked me Even the bosses said I was a Good worker! I was a Delivery Driver, I would get out there and bust my ass for Lowes, I'd get the job done and get back to the store while some of the other drivers were out there goofing off. Now I'm out of a job no unemployment no money and a family to take care of. All the years I worked for Lowes Plus I lived an Hour Away!! They don't give a S- -T about anyone! They could of at least Not put that on my file So I Would of been able to get Unemployment! They Don't Care about nothing but get that money from there costumers. And they don't care about there costumers Just there money. Lowes should be a shame of there self's

we bought flooring from lowes for are new home the the first flooring was a complete disaster. it was bambo 2070 feet of complete junked. then they came back and overed three different floors none close to the color as before but we took br111 tiger wood and looked great the floor people did a great job.then in about 3 months the floor started to cup and crack, so we called turned it in and 9-10 people have been thru the house in a period of 12 months or so and after all that i recieved a letter from br111 that it won't consider anything for the moisture wasn't stable in the dwelling so they passed it on to lowes and athey said pretty much the same thing. neither one will give me any report of nay kind and when asked they told me that we will have to sue to get anything from them. do i recommend lowes for flooring absolutely not. dan

I started working at lowes the number is 1959 in blfd va ive been there for about two yrs when i started about four or fives months in me and one of the employees got into it and they wrote me up because i called him stupid but the next day he called him stupid and they didnt do anything to him it took me almost over a year and half when i got moved to delivery thats when i got my raise there is other employee that started the same time i did and he has got 5 raises i dont think that is far i do the same work that he does when i got back from delivery i asked randy honaker if he had anything else for me to do he asked me if lonny wolf had his hours he told me he didnt care what i did. seems to me that all the delivery manager is worried about in just one employee after that went in one morning checking for delivery item on the computer to see if it came in got up and left the computer to look for it came back to the computer i was useing lonny wolf was on it getting his check stub i told him that i was working on that computer he got up told me to hurry up he walked behind me hit me in the back of head i told him not to hit me again sat down at the computer he walked beside me and ask me if i want some of it. i told terry / delivery manager at that time he said that he as going to talk to someone about it i told him that i shouldnt have to work in these conditions so i told him that i was going to leave. he told me that is was a very good posbilty of getting fired. so i stayed at work to take out deliverys meantime i was getting all the trash to throw it away lonny wolf came back there told me not to ask him for anything again i told him to leave it alone told terry that he doesnt need to go out with me to delivery. got back from delivery bo stevenson came back to talk to me he asked me to tell him what happen between me and lonny i told him that i think it wasnt rite what he did by hitting me in the back of the head nothing was done about it lonny wolf has done nothing but push his weight back there and jumping on everyone back there running his mouth.so now they have got a drug addict in delivery which he was there before me his name is keith fields. He going to keep it up until he hurts someone in delivery I think you need to do a drug test on keith fields randomly You are going to lose a very good worker. how can you have family members working together in the same departments. when married couples cant work together. i hope you read this and take care of the business that needs to be deal with. before someone gets hurt really bad and in other departments. i will not be back at lowes as a employee i was treating unfairly like all of the other employees has

Compared to HD, Lowes have nice product layout, large variety of selectios, clean and wide aisles and so on. However, when you call customer service, it's terrible. Before you get to a live person, you go thru variety of options, then before you get to speak with someone, you get referred to another person/department but the wait is so long. You have to patiently wait and listen to no less than 2 songs or music. I was referred to an outsource service in India and it was an underwriting section which deals with credit history and reports! Can you believe it, our sensitive personal credit histories are in India and what if the system is hacked. No wonder there is so many IDENTITY THEFTs and losses going on. All I can say is not only is the customer service POOR when it comes to phone service, it is both terrible and worst. If Lowes perform bad, I wouldn't be surprise. VM

i would to let anyone who would like to work for lowes they are so low. my wife worked for them for 5 1/2 year the last 4 as a head cashier then all at once they fired her her for missing one day the week before. i believe it was over the insurance because in 3 days after her firing i was to have my 8th back surgery and yes i know its alot but it needed to be done and still was done.then i found out today they fired 59 distict managers but they dont seam to have a problem spending MILLIONS,MILLIONS AND MILLIONS on a race car team but they cant keep hard working people on the pay roll

It has come about that about 50% or more of the items that I used to purchase at Lowes are no longer carried by Lowes, apparently the shelf space now used for gardening supplies. The store employees say that it is a corporate decision. So now that the Lowes has run all the family owned hardware stores out of business, and Lowes no longer carries what I need, and I waste more than 50% of my trips to Lowes and Home Despots because they both carry almost the exact same inventory, I now find myself purchasing a lot of stuff on the Internet.

I bought 2 6 feet Blue Spurce Pine trees $65 on clearance in the middle of the summer of 2010 at the Hiilliard Ohio store. They said they would put the trees aside. They didn't. They sold my trees to someone else. The manager didn't say he was sorry. He told me that it was normal practice to put a tag on the trees to say sold and people pull them off. I was told that the tree would be taken to the back of the nursery. Which didn't happen. I talked to 2 other lowes and they said that is what they do when they sell plants. They wanted to give our money back. We said no. We want the trees. They called around to look for trees after i called them back. One of their managers lied to another and said that we came and got our money back. I told her that I still have the receipt and that never happened. She stated that there are not any pine trees at this time. She said that in the spring come back. We agreed . We have not been contacted by lowes. It is now October 2011. I have gone to the store once a month to look for the trees. they haven't had any. We are so disappointed in lowes. We buy everything from that store. We perfer lowes over home depot. Not any more.
