My Experience with LA Fitness I shopped around and found a fitness club that I was happy with, but then they sold out to LA Fitness or LA Fitness bought them out. I never received a call or letter welcoming my daughter and I to La fitness after they bought out my clubs memberships. I was notified by a sign on the front of my old gym. I went to La Fitness and they originally had no record of our membership. We had to prove that we where members of the gym they had bought out. They didn’t know how to separate my membership from my daughter’s membership because the original club put us both on 1 contract. After a very frustrating experience, I was told everything was taken care of. The put both last names on the membership and both phone numbers so we can check in without a problem. 9 months later. The operations manager was checking in people at the door she noticed a problem with my account. April of 2010, I was told everything was resolved. February 2011 now there’s a problem. She stated that she has been the manager since the transfer took place. She has never talked to me and has no notes in her computer. I also told her that I had brought people to the club to be members. She stated that nothing was on my account about referrals. Just so happens I was meeting my friend up there as well. When my friend arrived, she told the manager that I referred her. Still NOTHING. Not a Thank you or even a **** you. I am not sure how any of that works. But, seems to me like I should have been given a bird-dog or at least a Thank you. My friend asked what the problem was. Traci Querano (operations manager) 817-283-2115 told her that I had not been paying properly on my account. At this point. Insult to injury. I said "Excuse me, this is not about not paying on my account" She then told me that I was being asked to leave!!! Now, I am getting kicked out. I really have never been treated so poorly by a company. I asked her for a business card, she stated that she would be handling this matter. I am very disappointed in how I was treated and plan to spend a great deal of time expressing my frustrations.
I like the clubs but lately they have made it very difficult to lodge a complaint. You can only complain to the club manager, not to a corporate customer service or grievance line. Today I was able to get connected to corporate AND get their phone number for complaints. (949) 255-7200
Clifton, NJ LA Fitness only cares about getting members in the door. Class Schedule doesn't even closesly reflect or accomodate the number of members. They are more concered about filling up a few classes to pay the instructor. Pilates/Yoga classes are so full you can't move. Machines take weeks to get fixed. Only the cleaning lady knows where the lost and found is. Desk help can't take or give a message. Managers don't return phone calls. Nicest people are the cleaning staff. No personality in that place. District manager was to rigid to hear even a helpful comment. Why does LA Fitness corporate dictate a class schedule for a franchise across the country. Add a class into the schedule and SEE if is attended rather than not try. LA Fitness members will continue to leave. I did.
Horrible maint in Valencia club. Paper towels always completly out, no one changes them for long periods. They say they don't have them in stock? Machines freq broken for weeks. They say they don't have extra stock? This place is managed VERY poorly, a disgrace. Stay far away.
Poor rating - they bill you continually and you can't cancel membership. Do not join
I joined the gym in 2006 before it even opened up. This Gym is located in Tinley Park, IL. The customer service is horrible and reading the reviews on this page, I am not surprised. I have complained to the BBB because I have not ever seen nothing like this ever and at that this for your health. You would think you will be able to have PEACE. They go in and out of your account without your permission. They are very misleading and unprofessional. I kept giving them chance after the chance but unfortunately my efforts with them have exhausted. Maybe these complaints will help them to resolve there issues as far as having ***** Customer Service.
Horrible place to work. They promote slime ball sales tactics and they lied on my w-2, stating they paid me way more than they did. Don't join this gym and don't work here!
All I have to say is that this gym and their little lackeys are completely dishonest.
Wow! I feel the same way. LA Fitness in Oxford Valley is a complete mess. I am a raquetball player and the courts are deplorable. Mangement is rude. Courts are always dirty. Lights are in disrepair.
Its the most ridiculous club that I've ever signed till date. I got my membership, training cancelled as I was moving to a place where there is no LA fitness. I also submitted necessary documents and proof of my new residence as they have asked me to do. It has been 5 months that I've been continuously billed and I even tried Credit Card stop payment which was of no use as I was re-billed. Guess what, Tommy, Shaun, Chris are the guys with whom I talked to and where so called assisting me. They just hang up the phone on me while I'm talking. They almost licked my foot to get me sign up but when it comes to customer service they are just licking shit. Motherfuckers and money leeches out there!!! Beware guys, LA fitness is not a place to spend money.
I joined L.A. Fitness in Stamford, Conneticut in December of 2009. I was dissatisfied with the customer service there and notified the management of my departure from membership in November of 2010. I was charged an additional 2 months following the termination of my membership. I went to L. A. Fitness in Stamford to speak with management in concern over this apparent overcharge. When I went there, I spoke to a front desk associate named Jared and asked to speak with a manager. His response was very clippish and he claimed to be the manager. I explained to him the situation concerning the overcharge following my termination of membership. I asked that I be refunded the $74.18 for the two months I was not a member. Jared responded that there was nothing that he could do and gave me a letter to send to the corporate office. I informed Jared had already sent this very same letter upon terminating my membership. Jared claimed that the corporate office never received it and to forget about ever getting a refund for the two month overcharge following the end of my membership. In other words, I had just been swindled out of my hard-earned money and told there was nothing I could do about it. When he informed me as such, I asked if there was anyone else in charge that I could speak to there, perhaps another general manager and he replied in the negative and told me that there were no other managers available. While he is telling me this, I could clearly see another manager named Julian still in his office listening to the entire conversation I was having with Jared. Jared had clearly lied to me. I left feeling very ripped off and upset. There is no way that what they are doing to me is legal. Later, I called the gym location again so that I could get the names of all the management there (first AND last) so that I would have someone to report to the better business bureau. I spoke with Jared on the phone and he told me that he was not liable to give the last name of any of the managment staff there. I intend on contacting the better business bureau as well as the local Stamford news stations concerning this incident, and I would recommend that people keep from joining such a crooked establishment.
I'm a member of the LA Fitness in Fountain Valley Ca. When a prospective client checks out a club, your given the tour of all the wonderful features. After you sign the contact, you find all these wonderful features are down or out of order for one reason or another. The water features such as the steam room and jacuzzi are out of service more than they are working. We get the same old excuse, "Well it's an old club." Preventitive Maintenence is the word of the day. Stay on top of your equipment before it breaks down. This company has to have the WORST engineering/maintenence dept. I've ever seen. Or in reality, Corporate doesn't care. I know LA Fitness is opening new clubs, but in my opinion, take care of the ones you have first, then expand. I don't know who makes your big decisions, but if this continues, you all will be looking for a new job when your members start signing with clubs that put out a good product. Please respond this this email
My credit card that was used for payment was comprimised therefore a new number was obtained. due to this, the automatic payment was not received. I received 4 calls a day from L.A Fitness reps for 2 days. I contacted customer services and they said they would note the accoubnts and the calling would stop. I returned home and low and behold nother call was there . I was advised that the delinquency is noted on the system through out the US and these people are reps from other sites. Apparently from what I was told, they receive a $5.00 commission for every person who they get to pay to get the account up to date. Be careful!!
So rude, so tacky, so unaccomodating. Equipment always disabled, resources dated and insufficient for the volume of guests, hours lousy, GM NOT helpful. Atlanta, GA
I go to you facility in Alsip Il. I am a senior (79yrs old) and go to the Aqua Arobics for my arthritus as its the only exercise I can do. My problem is that the pool water is so cold that even the younger members are having problems with it. I am struggling to keep up my dues as I am a widow and living on a fixed income. All I ask is that you keep the water temp. at 82-84 degress which I was told it would be when I joined The Hot tub is mostly out of order-and 1 handicap shower stall(which I will not complain about) But PLEASE PLEASE SET THE TEMP IN THE WATER WARMER IN THE POOL and we can only depend on 2 instructors Anne on Wed. & Thurs and Tom on SAt. the other days are hit and miss. Would you like you grandmother trying to stay active in cold water when she is paying her dues and trying not to be a burden on her family. Thank you for reading this and please give me some feedback. Waiting to hear from you Dolores Kerrigan
I just wanted to say I workout at the Mill Creek, Washington Facility. I have enjoyed my time there, however I am just curious as to how long does it take to fix a water fountain. We have one in the free weight area that has been down for going on 8 months. This is unacceptable in my book. When confronting the management there , they throw their arms up and state "They have no idea and when you find out please let us know." I just can't believe it can take 8 months+ to repair a water fountain. I understand that at some point it was about funding? so tell me why in the world woulf you spend money on two LG idescreen TV's that have not played since their installation? That money could have been better spent for a new water fountain or at least a steel bucket with a ladel??? Additionally, the Stair steppers are consistently going down and there doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency to fix them, it is just easier to put a sign up "Out of Order" and leave it there for days/ sometimes weeks. There is equipment in the locker rooms that have their down times to - Swim Suite ringers. I understand from my wife these have been out in their locker-room too. The overall cleanliness of the facility has declined in the past months too. Maybe this is something for the Department of Health to be aware??? So how about it corporate smart aXXXS, explain to this 60 year old why it takes so long??? HuH? I have begun to hear a lot more rumblings from members who are not happy. Perhaps a Town Hall style meeting with members with Corporate Participation?? Gold's is right down the block and there may soon be a mass miagration so how about just fixing the water fountain. Additionally, I would like to add that the LA Fitness Network of easy rap listening sucks. Have you heard of the new buzz word diversity??
I belong to the Dulles Town Center LA Fitness Club in Dulles Virginia. The hot-tub has been down for several days!!! They took the dryer machine out. The type that gets excess water out of your bathing suit. The staff is great but the equipment that I mentioned needs to be fixed/replaced. If I can go to Gold's Gym (with equipment that works); and get a membership for $20...why should I stay with LA Fitness? Please fix the equipment. Ken
I have found out that LA Fitness DISCRIMINATES against groups of people because of their political views! They recently banned FOX NEWS from their TVs, the manager said that it was a "new corporate policy" This is totally unacceptable because me and a big group of people are paying to workout in this gym and if LA Fitness is going to have News channels they should not only have the liberal channels it should be fair and balance! or not have them at all! I am very disappointed at the poor and ignorant decisions they are making!
The equipment at the Dulles Virginia location is good except for two or three items. 1st and most important...the dryer for swimwear in the men's shower needs to be replaced. The hot tub hasn't been working for several days. And some of the belts that you walk on the treadmill have to be replaced. I don't want to change gyms but I will if I have to. Too many places to go in this area with working equipment.
I have been trying to get me contract worked out by Olga in the Chandler office in Arizona. Not only will she not call you back, she could care less who you are. I tried to contact a different location in Tempe Az and talked to Jimmy "General Manager" and he turned me over to Brent "operations manager" who has a friend Kent that was going to work this all out in 24 to 48 hours. It has been 5 days and no call backs. The only work out you will get from this club is the running around they give you.
