The women’s facilities, workout areas and equipment were very clean and the staff very polite but.....the training staff need to be certified and consistent. None of the stars represent the trainer staff.

I would not refer my dog to LA fitness.

Mens Lockeroom constantly smells - LA Fitness Snellville,Georgia. I recently had a conversation with the lead team of LA fitness and advised them of smelly Mens lockeroom. I know that sometimes guys can get funky(especially if they do not bathe before or after working out) but the case at this LA fitness is unbearable and it is constant. The person at the front desk advised me that they were aware of the problem and sometime in the future the carpet was going to be cleaned. When I asked? He said he did not have a clue. I joined the club in July 2010 and noticed the funkyness but I thought it was going to go away. Unfortunately, the funk stays and management does not seem interested in fixing the problem with any urgency.

I am a member of LA Fitness in Duncanville, TX very beatiful place; however the customer service is very poor. I fell in the area around the pool coming out of the restroom after water arobic exerise as I was coming out of the restroom. I was out for two weeks, ont one phone call was made as to my well being by my trainer or the manger. For two months the pool was not heated and we had to exercise in cold water and one day the water pump was in not working. With the number of members we have I feel that them could do better. The la Habra ca facility is absolutely disgusting. I usually go in the mornings and their restrooms are filthy. Never cleaned from the night prior. Unsanitary conditions, no hand sanitizer available in dispensers, trash all over the restroom floors, no sanitary liners for toilets! Spare yourself and stay away! All the employees sit on phones texting. No weights available, thrown all over!

I would give five starts except for this: We in Hillsboro on IMbrie Dr. had a great Pilates Teacher named Kim. She also taught Kick Boxing right before she taught our class. Pilates class was very popular and full. Then after several years of her as our great teacher LA Fitness made a new rule: No teacher can teach back to back classes......So..Kim continued to teach Kick Boxing and we got another teacher named Kim that is NOT GOOD at all. The class is now lucky to have four people in it! This is really stupid and it drove some to find another gym...and a good Pilates class.

We were given several guest passes - good for one week free. We brought 2 guests in and they were told that it was good for one day only - and they would have to pay the rest of the week. Clearly we are not the only ones who have had this happen and no one seems to care! False advertising at the very least.

The actual club in Woodbridge, Va is a wonderful club. I have ran health clubs for years and worked at your club in Arlington, which was a nightmare for me and I tried to transfer, but received no help at all. I was charged 3 times starting with around 12-2010. I spoke with with Kristin several times and she was not friendly or helpful. My credit union refund 2 of my 3 overdrafts due to the unexplained, misc charges. My bank said it was the club's liability if it was there mistake, but they did refund 2 of the 3 $30 overdraft. I have spoken with Kristin and she said the bank should pay it. I suggested her speaking with the bank and believing in the fact that they would only 2 of the charges. I have tried to get with to her to do this, but she is never around and when I ever see her, she is only the phone or constantly having conf calls. I running a club know all about the conf calls, however it seems odd that whenever I'm there she has the call. She looks stressed out and unable to handle her job. She is no friendly to me. I need to have the 30.00 refunded to my credit union. I am out of work right now and have a medical condition which keeps my husband busy with copays and medication. I did not want to have to come to corp, but I felt I had to. Because of my background, I find myself racking weights and picking up paper off the floor. There is always papers left everywhere and no one seems to do a walk through. I love the club, however a club that new should always be spotless. Please give me a call or e-mail so I can find out how to get my refund and why it took her to refund the first 2 charges. It was about a month. I know everything there is to know about running a club and I think there should be a few changes with the front desk as well. Most do not greet and say have a great day/night on departure. If it isn't obvious enough that every single comment is a piss poor one that maybe you would change something about the way you do things. I signed up for this membership because it was right across the street from my house and they had a kids club to watch my infant. They spoke fast and like they just knew exactly what I wanted. I was told that I could pick what workout method I liked best (never being to a gym facility outside of school I don't understand how contracts and such work with them) so I chose the one that worked for me. NOT BEING TOLD that the paper I was signing was for a personal trainer and that an option was to not have one I was tricked into signing up for a personal trainer at $200.00 a month NOT including my monthly membership and the kidz club. When I realized the situation I called right away and was told that it was "too bad" that I was locked into the year membership. LIVID I waited until I could afford it and cancelled the whole thing to find out TODAY that they STILL charged my bank account for the month after I had cancelled, which is how I found this page. I am trying to find a number to call and the number that this site has posted doesn't even work. This whole Fitness center is a joke and I have and always will tell everyone I know that very thing.

Totally disappointed! I bought for my husband 12 sessions with a trainer. FIrst of all just getting that was close to impossible. They wanted me to sign some silly monthly contract for the trainer. I said no, I just want 12 sessions. My husband is already member of the gym, why would he pay extra? It took me 45 minutes to get the man to accept my terms. Well my husband went and what did the trainer tell him? You must sign up for the monthly program. My husband said, let's get through this and we will talk later. Well this man berated him for 3 sessions! Instead of trying to maybe establish rapport or bond, no! Just kept telling him how he HAS to get the contract. My husband asked for a new trainer. This kid is better, but they know NOTHING about helping someone get fit. The reason I did this was so that my husband can get himself slowly back in shape. Start a routine and work out. He is in unbearable pain. As in he is in bed. As in he doesn't want to go back. Whatever happend to help someone get in shape, not beat it into him?

It is reasonable LA fitness only enforces 2 hours for kid club, and it is the same at all health clubs that offer kid club with additional charge. Do you expect LA fitness to become childcare center? Do you expect to drop off your kids there for 4 to 5 hours so you can go shopping and run errands? They offer kid club service so that for two hours only because thats the maximum hours anyone would work out or spend at the gym. If there is no such service, it would be much more expensive for you to have someone to come over to watch your kids for 2 hours everyday so you can go work out. I can't believe people even complain about this, everyone knows and aware of this. Now onto the service at LA fitness, they are the most screwed up ever. First 1) I had a training membership and they kept talking me into renew my training membership after the first 6 months, I decided to renew my training membership because the trainer and I work well together and he is super nice so it's okay. I got two charges in one month for training services which means I have two training memberships, how stupid is that? they did not cancel the old membership which I was told it would be automatically canceled when I renew it. Took forever for them to solve my issues, like months, and I had to cancel my debit card to prevent them charging me more money. I was told my LA fitness club manager that once corporate takes my money, its hard to get it back. WTF!!!! After I was told that they fixed my issues, I gave them un updated credit card for my service. They never gave me back the charge they charged me extra for the first month. Few months later, I kept on receiving phone calls from LA fitness asking for money I owe them for the second training membership which I never used and thought that they fixed my issues. After many phone calls to explain, they finanally take away the charge that I never owed them in the beginning. My other serious issue is I refered a friend to sign up, and he mentioned my name when he signed up. I've been paying for my friend's membership for a whole damn year without realizing it because I never check my credit card statement. LA fitness called me to say my credit card is expired and they need an updated card, so I came in to work out and gave them my bank card, two later I checked on my credit card and my bank card, they charged me on my credit card, and also charged my credit card. I printed out statements from both and showed them, then they realized they have been making mistake to charge my credit card for my friend's membership for a whole damn year. WTF, I know that LA fitness can collect your money, but when it comes to return what they over charge me most likely it will take months of me bugging them to get my money back. I am about to call their HQ to bitch about it now.

I am so sorry to hear all the negative reviews! I called the corporate number 949-255-7200 and asked for my account to be put on a freeze. He waived the first two months and if I want to have more time I have to pre pay the 15.00 waive fee. It was that easy. My trainer Dwayne is amazing and so kind! I hurt my back not due to the training but due to me driving 9 hours a day. He understood and it was simple no problems..Call that number and someone will help you right away!

So where should I start.... The trainers are ridiculous! They walk around hitting on 12 year old little girls all day. 2-There is only one poor old cleaning lady in the entire gym !!! No wonder everything is so dirty and theres never any paper anywhere. In the sauna, people are allowed to talk on their cell phones and scream and yell. How the hell is that suppose to be relaxing ? The gym closes at a different hour everyday. And Sometimes they announce random times on the speaker so people can start leaving. Im so dissapointed . There are never any lockers available because people have their stuff in them without a lock. The employee's give people tour's with their sunglasses on ! I mean seriously how un-proffesional is that ! Theres deff too many people in that gym, There are never any clean cardio machines & the Smoothie station is horrible.

LA Fitness is the worst company ever! I go to the Everett, WA facility. They DO NOT care about their customers like they say they do. I felt tricked into signing up for personal training session. They "manager" guy of personal training told me that he was going to train me for the first couple of times and when I went to go to my first training session he totally ditched me so he can go and sweet talk other people into signing up. The facility at Everett has had a lot of complain about their Latin Heat class. the music sucks! it is techno music with a couple of spanish words. that's not latin music. when i went to go talk to the manager she told me that corporate office told her to stop bugging them about it because they are not going to change it and if they don't like it they can leave the gym. what happened to them caring about their customers? they don't give a______. word of advise....DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM!!!!

My Mom, 76, joined the personal training and the same day decided to cancel her contract. She hadn't even given her down payment for the contract necessary for it to begin. When she tried to cancel the salesman strong armed her and repeatedly denied her requests. The consultants pressured her to provide personal medical information and literally had her shaking in their office. Clearly a situation where the elderly are taken advantage of. Do NOT join.

I was verablly abused by 2 of the trainers in Rockville Maryland in front of the staff for their false allegations. I am awaiting a response from corporate about the incident and will update this board if I do not get prompt resolution. The complaints listed above make me question why anyone would join... Additionally, one of the "trainers" I saw there recently was a doctor I recognized who had lost his medical license for running a "narcotics mill" practice. He was criminaly prosecuted! He also was an idiot of a trainer. Well, at least the facility is nice.

Will today in toms river new jersey a A NEW LOW I took cyle at 7am boy what a joke the instructor had use using weighs and cyle at the sametime???????? she keep tell us how she was treated my the milater police over seas WHAT A JOKE we cyled backwards and i almost feel off my bike!!!!!!!!! then i took the 8:30 class step oh on we jump and ran and oh yes we used bands that one broke and hit the girl i was next to (IN THE FACE) then we played muiscal step what are we in first grade WHAT HAPPEN TO THE CLASSES I WILL NEVER GO BACK

Crap Gym. Twice I picked up my daughter from kids club after an hour and she was running around with the other kids with very obvious poop shooting up her back on the outside of her clothes. Just pure neglect. Dirty. They do not close down, or even take a moment to wipe things down when this happens. I excused it the first time, as I understand it gets busy, but the second time, and after further experience with the staff and observation, they'll stick 1 to 4 very tired looking and unenthusiastic looking young people in the kids area, they often huddle together, not paying attention, very loud/obnoxious/nasty gossip sessions, laying on tables. Another time they left my 1 year old solo in a corner with a box of markers while the attendants where deep in a conversation on the other side of the very large kids area. When I asked if the markers were non-toxic, all I got was a dumb founded look and a "why, was she putting them in her mouth?" When I finally had had enough (you can mess with me BUT YOU DO NOT MESS WITH MY CHILDREN!) I thought I would do the company a courtesy by calling the corporate number and telling them why I was canceling and what they could do better. I was polite and honest, but to my surprise, met with a very confrontational company "professional bully" who listened half heartedly, was extremely insensitive and basically through back in my face any snippet of information I gave him that he could use to defend the company and save the company money. Yes, I did ask for my last pre-paid month back, because at this point there no way in hell I was stepping foot back in this gym. After my son contracted pneumonia, getting a full understanding of they're cleaning policies and the neglect of my daughter; the very rude phone person did refund my kids club membership only...there are a few decent people working at the place, but the company as a whole needs a freaking makeover! Be forewarned....pay a little more and go elsewhere!

They doubled billed me for two months, assured me the first time it happened that I would get credit for the extra billing. I never got the credit and then they did it a second time. That's $800 down the drain - it was for personal training.

The center of which we are a member of here in Florida is the same story as those before me.The mangement who work here are some of the rudest people I have ever met who have No people skills. The facility is filthy...not being cleaned!! When brought to their attention they simply said" You can go work out elsewhere!!" Really??? They didn't say that when they were wanting our money!!
