I belong to LA Fitness in Orange, CT and am an avid racquetball player for many years. The gym has the latest equipment etc, but it is dirty to say the least. The locker room is not cleaned often nor do they change the water in the jacuzzi more than once a week. I am surprised that the health department hasn't closed this gym. Another huge issue is that the racquetball courts are hot and humid, and my racquetball buddies and I have asked the front desk many times to please check into why there is no a/c / air ciculation inside the courts. We are being told that they have no control over it, because it is monitored from the main office in LA. I find that to be a bunch of BS to say the least. I just wish that another gym comes to town and opens up racquetball courts and put LA Fitness out of business.
hot tub heater has been broken 3 weeks i am 68 and use it for my arthritis all over my body every one has complained the temp is 94 im convinced the club has """"gone green""" i am a member of the camp hill pa club
I joined LA Fitness three years ago to take advantage of the pool and the elliptical machines. Each year the gym membership grew to the point where I have to wait in line for a machine. It’s been like this for over a year, to the point where I no longer can use the elliptical, treadmills or bikes. Additionally, last year the pool was out of order for a couple of weeks and just last month the pool was out of order again for about 5 weeks. Then just this week, only 2 weeks after the pool was repaired it is once again out of order. UGH! It’s awful that you accept so many memberships that the members cannot even utilize the equipment without waiting on lines AND the pool is constantly unusable.
There should be a 0 star rating as well. There should also be a huge class action lawsuit against companies like these. They could care less about you once they have your money. No customer service, never call you back, OH and get this!!! My wife cancelled her account 2 YEARS AGO!!!! and they have been taking money out of her account SINCE! Time to get the TV stations involved folks!!!
I HAVE PICS OF THE BOCA EAST, YHAMATO RD. BOCA RATON, FLORIDA , OF THE GYM AT 5 AM. WEIGHTS ALL OVER THE PLACE. A COMP;LETE DISGRACE. KNOW MEMBERS WHO R. NO LONGER MEMBES. VERY UNPROFFESIONAL FOR A CLUB THAT PRIDES ITSELF ON CLEAN AMENETIES. SHAME ON YOU!!!! WHY DID THEY ASK MY GUEST TO PAY 15 DOLLARS FOR A WORK OUT WHEN HE HAD A 3 DAY GUEST PASS? BULL SHIT!!
Wishing LA would start recycling at the clubs. It seems the majority of the garbage is plastic water bottles.
DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS GYM!!!! You will be just another bar code... Ive experienced the wost customer service experience possible at the Gym In Mesa AZ Greenfield and baseline. They Are nothing but a bunch of Used Car sales men CROOKS!!!! Please take this warning
Northbrook Illinois gym opened late 2010 and started out well though you must take the "tour" and are not allowed to use the "free" 3 day pass until you are strong armed into signing a contract. I did NOT KNOW EVERYONE pays a different fee based on how hard you negotitate.....UNFAIR!!!!!! Several of my friends are memebers and we all pay differently. Facility stayed in decent shape but clearly staff has recently left or been replaced as they were all told that they must work split shifts. Since then few people working and the cleanliness has declined. "Lucky" the manager often out. He does not staty on top of what needs to be done.
I wish to make an important statement concerning particular L.A. Fitness club. I am a retired Police Officer and frequent the club in Lindenhurst, N.Y.. I am there every day and have seen several managers come and go,. None have taken the time to see what is happening in the club. If it werent for the effort of an Asst. mgrs, namely Nick and I believe Chris, thegym would be a mess even though it is new. The new mgr, Evan again is the most unsociable mgr yet. He does not leave his desk to see what is happening. No need to take my advice as I could supply names of half the gym lmembers attesting to this. Now we have heard Nick may be leaving. This would be a disaster as he is constantly checking the bathroom, floor, and equipement and is the only one doing so. Please re-evaluate. Again, I can give names of half the members who are displeased with each mgr, and the current one.
I have been a gym member at different gyms since the 80's. This is the first gym that I have ever been treated so rudely. The Manager will not even acknowledge you as well as any of the trainers. If you ask them a question or even just say hello, they look at you with a blank stare. I have gone out of my way to be friendly and try to start up a conversation with the current manager at the Wade Green location in Kennesaw, Georgia. He will not even smile and just keeps walking by you. Seriously! Is this costomer service? Bring Back Ballys! The instructors are crap because LA Fitness pays them what instructors were paid in the 80's. YOU GET WHAT U PAY FOR!!!!! LA Fitness has to be the worst gym, management,facility and environment that I have ever worked out at. EVER!!!!!!
Actually I wish one of the choices for rating would be a big fat 0. LA Fitness represenatives are non-professional and after only one thing a SALE, signing a contract...In my field of work I deal with the public on a daily basis and this type of customer service would not be tolorated. I am posting this from the Lee County area in Florida and both locations of LA Fitness, Cape Coral, & Ft. Myers FL are the most unprofessional and rude "kids" I have met with. My son was signed up with LA Fitness, application, processing fees and whatever else, for a total loss of $125.00. I was going to be the one to pay the monthly fees once he was signed up (this was a gift from the person signing him up). I was never contacted once to get any information from me and the day he was signed up, circumstances out of his control or mine. Yes he was out of town for 5 days, and when he returned to town went to the fitness center and tried to disenroll. He was treated poorly, and my phone calls thus far have been fruitless. He was told to mail something in for a $25.00 refund. Well this is no way to do business, in life there are circumstances out of our control and LA Fitness represenatives have thus far shown no compassion or empathy. "Just sign on the dotted line". As I said I have not been contacted to make the arrangements for payments info or my banking info. All they cared about was getting that $125.00 and then oh well it really doesn't matter if we continue our membership there, there is no getting out of it now. Totally unacceptable way for a business to treat customers.
The LA Fitness in Parsippany NJ, The swimming pool area has been closed for more than 10 days since 6/1/2011. :-( it is bad!
was denied use of my 7 day pass just now because the general manager said "how am i supposed to make money?" worst gym ever. always have problems using a guest pass. i was gonna join but now i am def not. most rude general manager. barret parkway kennesaw location.
I tried to cancel my membership a few months ago, when I was told that the only way that was possible was to send in a cancellation form. I sent in the form and they are still charging me!!!! none of the phone numbers that Ive been able to obtain lead to a human representative... This Company is a SCAM!! Id suggest you tread lightly when dealing with them..
This is by far the most shocking and disgusting business I have ever encountered. When my husband and I joined the club Pure fitness we had a great experience. We never had any issues, everyone was nice and helpful. However a few months ago Pure Fitness was bought out by LA Fitness and we have been so disgusted with the changes that we are now changing to a different gym. They have fired the old trainers that were part of the former company to bring in their sales team of trainers that will come and interrupt your workouts to inform you how you are doing this or that wrong and will pressure sale you into buying into a training program that costs 100s of dollars a month. If you ask to be left alone that you are not interested you are belittled with the comments that you obviously are not interested in really getting healthy and like wasting time and money on what does not work. That you should not have joined the gym if you didnt wanna do it right. There are 5 locations in my area and we figured that location just had a jerk and we changed locations, the second gym we asked to be shown around and again they tried to pressure us into buying a package. We walked out. Another location several machines didnt work. Clearly you are paying only for the privaledge of being solicited. I would avoid this company. They are completely and utterly morally corrupt.
LA Fitness on my side of town East Side in Tucson AZ (Wilmont Road) the people who work there are extreamly rude!!!! Even the manager Victoria is rude!!! They tend to treat you like ur nothing, just another customer paying to use the gym. They trwat u like you like they dont care if u cancel ur membership! They are rude and dont explain things properly! Im canceling my memebership because of their poor poor customer service!!!!
The guy,I think his name is James here in Fort Worth, TX, who signed me up for training class ripped me off by just letting me sign the first page of the contract which had no description about the cancellation charges. I cancelled the day after I signed up for the class and still they won't give me my money back. Can I sue that guy, instead of the company?
I joined LA almost year ago, and now I can't wait to get out of my contract with them!!! I actually avoid going to the gym just because I hate it so much there. Needless to say, I still pay my monthly payments although I hardly go at all. They claim they're the best out there from membership to personal training, but really they suck ass!!! They're always looking for ways to rip you off. NO LIES!!! The only thing great about LA is the building itself, but the service and staffs suck and they don't care about you. Don't be decieved by the image LA wants present to you-"don't judge a book by it's cover." I have to say, I've been with two different gyms before I joined LA, only because it's less than 5 minutes from my house. Lifetime and Bally's were beyond better for anyone who truly just wants a membership to stay healthy and keep in shape. LA is a hoax!!! If you don't believe me, read the other comments above and below!!!
Take the money and run. As we all know their goal is to sign you up and then forget about you. I go to the club in Miami at 160th st which the equipment is in disrepair,missing pins,broken and never seems to be fixed. I would say average time on repair is 4 to 6 weeks. Our clubs other problem is opening on time and with a attitude of tough. Members do have a way to get back at LA Fitness and we ( a majority of members who are tried of the attitude towards members) make a practice of it whenever we see a prospective customer being shown around we make sure to let them know what a mistake they will make if they sign up.
This place is awful you sign up and you cant get out of the contract! I have calling every number available and no one answers or picks up, I have been on hold for over an hr at one time, and another time the phone is busy for several hours, most likely someone took it off the hook because they dont want anyone to cancel there contract! I would not recommend this gym to anyone I cant even find one positive comment about this place!!!!!!!
