LA Fitness is a very racist company to their BLACK GUEST AND WOMEN. I have a friend here in Portland and young Black teenagers would go there to play basketball they were harassed enough until their parents pulled them out. T think we should pickett this place and let them know this will no longer be excepted.
i have been going to the club in stuart fla, and just go for the water classes. for the past 2 months the water in the pool has been cloudy and reeks of over chlorination, the desk has been told from several members that take this class, they even closed the pool for a day to drain it but it still is the same cloudy water! something needs to be done but the club hasnot fixed the problem!!!! very unhappy with this situation
AS if the situation at LA fitness is no bad enough and we thought it had hit low levels. Well we just hit a new low with LA firing our great and hard working janitor- Glenn (Warren, MI). The man worked hard, was very friendly with every one, and every one in the club knew his name. He was fired despite of the fact that his work more than doubled due to the invasion of the LOW PAID memebers of Bally. Glenn is raising a family and needs this job. Shame on La fitness for doing this.
I am a former employee of LA Fitness and in multiple times I asked my change of address for W-2 purposes. That never happened and now I need this tax form urgently. I called the payroll department and nobody can give me a straigh answer to my problem. I have never received my tax form w-2. My ID number is 1921860 my tlephone number is 619-772-6099 Please somobody reply to my need! Do I need to drive to you office to fix this problem?
I have been a member of Bally's for over 10 years. I learned that LA Fitness took over Bally's when I tried to go into my account to pay my gym renewal. Today I received the rudest "customer service" call ever. Some young lady called and said your membership is past due and I have to pay the amount (almost $200) NOW. I asked her if she could get me a hard copy of the bill and I will take care of. She said that she could not e-mail or fax me a hard copy. I then asked her if she could mail me a hard copy. She said she couldn't do that. I asked to speak to her supervisor. A guy came onto the phone, did not introduce himself and didn't now who I was. I explained to him that I simply need a hard copy of my bill. He said your card was rejected for renewal and you need to pay it now. I told him I never signed up for automatic renewal, so I don't know what he was talking about. He actually got off of the phone without telling me he was going to do so, and the young lady came back on the phone. When I proceeded to ask her to show me how to log into my account on LA Fitness's site, she kept saying "I have another call coming in! Can you hold?" I told her "No" twice. She insisted she was going to take the other call and hung up on me. THE RUDEST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED AS A CLIENT. They helped me to decide not to renew my account, and I suggest you don't renew or sign up for LA Fitness. JUST RUDE!
Dear LA Fitness I am writing to let you know that the kids club is filthy and not secure for parents taking their children to this facility. The club is not being kept to the original standards when the center first opened and security gaps are clearly visible. This particular facility needs to have consistency with cleaning at all levels with special emphasis within the kids club due to higher exposure of germs being spread. I will be contacting the police department along with the public health department if changes are not made soon. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.
Im from indianapolis and want the glendale branch to put a door by the entrance to the pool directly to the locker room. It's more convenient that way. The fishers Indiana club has one. I became a member of at the LA Fitness in Arlington, VA in January 2012 only for the cycle classes, which are pretty good on average. The management needs to come up with a workable solution for the over-crowded Saturday morning class, but that's another story. The main reason this place is awful is because of their terrible lost and found policy. I inadvertently forgot my wallet in the women's locker room after the Saturday cycle class last week. I accept full responsibility for the idiocy of leaving my wallet. When I came back to pick it up, I was happy to learn that someone had turned it in; however, instead of handing it over to me, I was told that it had been placed into a safe for which only the operations manager has a key, and he, of course, only works during regular business hours, so I would have to wait until Monday morning. First of all, a call giving me a heads up that my wallet had been turned in would have been nice so I would have had the chance to pick it up before it was thrown into a safe with no key onsite. After explaining to the gentleman at the desk that I now had no way to buy food or gas over the weekend, he reluctantly called the manager, who reaffirmed the policy and refused to come in to open the safe. So, I returned at about 9:15 on Monday morning only to be told that the manager went to the bank but "should be back in 30 minutes." I was not happy. Upon his return, I explained to the manager why this is such a terrible policy. He thought I should be grateful that it was returned. I tried to explain that, while I was appreciative of that, it made no sense to hold it hostage for an entire weekend and that they need to have a key onsite. He didn't understand my point and was outright rude, so I cancelled my membership on the spot.
I've been a member of the Hazel Dell, WA location for 2 years. I joined to attend the evening Water Aerobics classes. This is about the only thing I can do because of lower back and knee problems. We have been without an instructor on Tues. & Thurs. nights since the beginning of the year. We're constantly given excuses about why there isn't an instructor. She's sick, her son's sick, the sub couldn't make it and the list goes on and on. I was told to call in before coming to see if there would be an instructor. BULL - It's not my responsibility to make sure someone is there to teach the class! It's their responsibility to make sure they have an instructor. Last week we were assured a new instructor would be starting. Guess what???? No one showed up. I've made calls to speak to the manager, but they're never in and obviously don't know how to use a phone because they never call back. There's never a manager on site to talk to either. They're very happy to take your money, but they don't seem to care about anything else!
I recently joined LA Fitness in Burnsville MN due to the price increase of the gym I had been going for over 15 years. The gym is nice, the equipment is up to date, but the MUSIC is loud and offensive. My husband and I have complained to the manager several times and he has told us that several people have complained about the music. His solution - tell the person at the front desk to change the chanel and turn it down as it not suppose to be loud in the morning. We have tried that, and guess what? They don't know how or they can't change the chanel because they only have one. I don't enjoy working out or getting ready for work listening to hard rock music. I'm not in a bar. How many people have to complain to be heard???
Called to get Child care squared away, as manager wasn't willing to work with me, I have 4 months left on my membership and they will be losing me as a member, I will take my business elsewhere after 15+ yrs with Bally's.... due the the shitty LA Fitness take over.... very displeased, and it's only been about a month, since the change over, I have plenty of gyms in my area.... So bye!!!!
Can you please fix the sauna at the LA Fitness in Franklin Mills P.A. the sauna is broke since december 2011, and 1/2 of the heater is missing.It seems to be the same story in all the facilities with issues...management says the same stuff to the members, corporate knows about it, they call the guy to fix it, and the guy didnt show up...sounds like a recording from all the above answers to the comoplaints.yet LA Fitness is very quick in the monthly member fee charges...what ever happened to good customer service? If this keeps up I am pretty sure peolpe will start buying equipment for their homes and cancel LA Fitness memebrships, or go to other gyms and then we all know what happens to a compamny when not enough money and profit comes in...bankrupcy! and employees out of a job.
I wish I could give this place 0 stars. ALL of the workers at the Lansing, IL location are grossly unprofessional. If the janitor tries o stand behind me and clean a machine I am actively using one more time, I am filing suit. The trainers are supposed supposed to be there to help you, but if you do not entertain their flirting and inappropriate conversation topics, they ignore you completely. The environment is highly oversexualized and encouraged by the staff. Something needs to be done.
I JOINED L.A. FITNESS JANUARY 2011. i SIGNED UP FOR A TRAINER WHICK COST ME $120.00 A MONTH. RECENTLY I HURT MY ANKLE AND THE DOCTOR SAID I SHOULD STAY OFF OF IT. I STARTED CALLING L.A. FITNESS IN PARSIPPANY, N.J. SINCE THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER 2011 FOR THE MANAGER. HE HAS NEVER CALLED ME BACK. FINALLY I SPOKE TO A WOMEN NAMED PAT AND SHE TOOK CARE OF ME. I FAXED HER THE LETTER FROM MY DOCTOR. I WANTED TO CANCEL MY TRAINER. PAT SAID IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF BUT IT WAS TO LATE TO CANCEL IT FOR DECEMBER. HERE IT IS FEBURARY AND THERE WAS THE #120.00 IN MY DECEMBER BILL FOR THE TRAINER. I AM VERY UPSET WITH THIS HOLE ORGANIZATION. EITHER THE PHONE IS ALWAYS BUSY OR NOBODY CALL YOU BACK. I AM CALLING ME CREDIT CARD CO. AND TELLING THAT I AM NOT PAYING FOR THE SERVICE THAT I HAVE NOT HAD.
I visited the Alexandria VA location, went there on Friday evening, got there around 6pm, and the intercom announced they were closing the men locker room for maintenance, I thought a pipe must have burst or they lost hot water and had to made a emergency repair; it was neither, the manager decided to clean the men locker room, when it was extremely busy inconviencing and furstating the customers, the manager explained to me, she only has a female custodian and wanted to clean the locker room, I never seen this happen before, why can't they bring the cleaning people in when the club is closed and simply have someone come in a few hours during operating hours to servicing the common areas. Something needs to change I went there this morning and the gym was dirty, trash everywhere. HELP
I need to know where a part-time employee of LA fitness can contact to report harassment and discrimination. My daughter works for LA Fitness in Mission Valley and they don't pay her for training hours, she has to run back and forth on her time off for the key to the building..they switch her hours last minute...they spread rumors and fire employees..so called management takes employees out to drink and party so if you do your in the in club but if you don't well your in the out club. They even told her that she needs a doctors note to call in sick and to find her own replacement...I have never heard of such bull crap..she is hourly and not salaried. Next I will contact the CEO of this club...and the better business bureau and the labor board...harassment and discrimination should not be tolerated and this management needs a wake up call. Any other LA fitness employees have similar situations do respond.

So we were told that with the month of January concluding, the impossible situation at LA fitness clubs will be mitigated. Nothing can be further from the truth. With the LOW PAID Bally members invading our clubs the situation is dire and in need of immediate repair. I go to an LA fitness club in Warren, MI. I start at 5AM. At this early time, every treamill is taken, you have to wait on machines to work out, Bathrooms are dirty and must wait for a shower booth to be available. This was never the case before this exodus of these LOW PAID Bally members. IMAGINE the situation after work hours. We were also told that Bally members will pay equal monthly membership as the original LA fitness members. Again Nothing can be further from the truth. Not only Bally memebrs continues to pay their low fees and I witnessed one contract shown to me by a Bally member indicating he will pay the same fees through Jan of 2014, but they use the racket ball courts (I have to pay $10 over my alreasdy high membership fees) free of charge. This is not the American way of fairness and Justice.. Shame on LA fitness management..
Ever since the "takeover" things have just gone downhill. There was no respect to the Bally's veteran members to inform them of the changes. We received a letter well past the time this sale was made - but no mention of how our membership contracts were being handled. When new staff was put in place none of them had answers to anyone's questions. We were told our Redford, MI location would remain open - only to find a note taped to the door stating they were closing the end of the month. Once this was posted things went from bad to worse. Equipment was stolen, trash cans not being emptied, not providing paper towels or toilet paper. But the staff was finding time to sit in the office and meet up with friends. Going to the LA Fitness I am now forced to attend the staff is not friendly and not welcoming. No one can even tell us about our memberships or our membership fees - questions are answered with a shrug of the shoulders and a "I don't know." Here's to crossing my fingers for something better to come and seeing some of my friends at the Livonia LA Fitness!
Dear Gentlemen, I am sorry to come at you with this notice but I have no one listening me at the local management level for the fact that they are afraid of retaliation. I’m honestly trying to reach out to your HR department or senior leadership.. I have wrongfully been accused of training people at your Culver City facility. I have been a member at this facility for quite some time. Most of the original Bally total fitness employees know me and have come to support me in my physical needs and achievements as I began to compete in amateur bodybuilding last year. As a friend and member of your facility, Cameron and I were both getting ready for The NPC Grand Prix in April, due to our intense training I had been accused of training him, when in fact he’s my workout partner. I do not receive any type of compensation for working out with him. All we do is give each other an additional push to make and help us meet our goals. I was accused of being a certified trainer in which that is false and there is no record of me even getting any type of certification or attending any type of training that would consider or call me a fitness trainer.. I honestly don’t want to seek any legal option but will if needed as I have been advised to do so. I honestly just want to be at the gym and be reinstated, I enjoy working out at the Culver City facility. I have about 10 family members there and possible an additional 20 close friends that work out at the facility, all who support me and know that these are all false accusations.. The reason I want to contact HR is for both Falsification of documentation by your PT Supervisor Quan Paxton which I believe he should also get some type of Corrective Action taken for his slander of myself and false accusations, if that’s not enough the same individual has violated your Ethics Code if any on the grounds that he is dating someone he oversees at the gym, name can be given upon request. I never saw or did anyone go over any type of investigation, no one was called in to be interviewed and all was done by the assumption of your employee Quan which did make a $500 bonus for having Former trainer Julian and myself excluded from LA Fitness… Yes I know of the catch the illegal trainer incentive LA Fitness offers, in which he had false claims. As you can see there is a bad apple in Culver City, I hope you can understand the stress this employee has caused me and other members there as they can not believe this is happening.. i have a big support group at the gym which are willing to petition for me if needed. Thanks for listening, i have additional detail on a day by day on an excel sheet for the last two weeks with better detail and proper timelines of the incidents upon request
