I recently paid off my charge card for $614 checked my bank account they removed the money &checked online that kohls received it. Went to use the card 3 days later &I was denied. Spoke to customer service & was told because I made such a large payment they put a hold on my account for 14 days. So apparently they penalize their customers who pay off their account in full & on time. Customer service told me I shouldnt make such a large payment.no wonder why our country's economy is so fucked up. Cancelled the card &I will never shop there again I don't care if their giving shit away
This happened at Khols Ladera Ranch,. CA I had a 10 dll off mens apparel coupon..... when I get to the register, I give te coupon to the lady and she is like... I'm sorry sir this does not include this jeans!!! WTF?? Then I ask for the manager,I. Figure the cashier is a piece of crap and doesn not know what she's talking about.... Well the manager turned out to be the same..... I understamd this coupons come from corporate. But at the end is the same company... I called cororate and they said those jeans are not considered mens apparel!!n. WTF?? Shame on you "f"ing Khols!! I'm glad I scared the crap out of the manager by yelling at her ....
KOHLS didn't post my payment, so I received another bill 3 weeks later with late charge, interest and last amount bill. I called immediately!!! They said they didn't have it. I had to call bank, bank sent them posting by fax of them cashing check. I called today to see if they posted it. "No sorry, we are having problems with postings not being updated." SO, today is last day of my 30% So Rachel (rep) told me to have manager hold anything that I may purchase and go back after they post payment and pick-up. WELL!!!!!!!!!!!! I am retired and have my pride!!!!!!!!! Plus the calls! They made me feel like a deadbeat! Plus we live 30 minutes from any Kohls!! I believe that Kohls owes me an apology!!!!!!!!!
I agree with most people here -- Kohls just doesn't care about their customers anymore. I've been a loyal customer since they opened. Two years ago they dropped me from the % off mailers. Been trying for 2 years to get back on the mailing list and their stupidity in the IT area can't get the job done. Guess they don't care they are losing so many customers that spend $5,000-$7,000 at their stores. I will NEVER step foot in Kohls again -- LOVE JC Penny's
Six years ago I moved from Wisconsin to California. In Wisconsin, Kohls is a big name and a big deal and are really really nice stores to shop in. Good prices, good service, clean stores. When i discovered a Kohls store in my Cali town I was very excited. It was a company I knew and trusted and was thrilled to give them my business. How wrong I was to think that the Kohls qualities i loved so much would be consistent throughout their chain. The store in Cali i shop at is in total disarray and the staff are some of the rudest people I've ever dealt with at any retail store. Little by little I just weaned myself away from Kohls and began shopping other places. Recently I went in to look for something in their kitchen section. Their products were a complete mess, piled on shelves with no organization, boxes opened, things broken, and the department was unstaffed. I wandered around for 10 minutes looking for some help. When I found someone, I asked if they had the item I was looking for. Her response was precious. She heaved a sigh like I had asked for a kidney, rolled her eyes and said..."listen lady, i don't know. go dig around in the stuff and figure it out yourself". then she turned on her heels and walked away. Kohls has completely lost my business forever. And i know they probably don't care...i mean it's obvious they don't care about customer satisfaction. But what i'll also do for them is tell every single person i know and who will listen about my experience there so i can try to ensure they don't get business from anyone i know.
Once again disappointed, this will be the last time. You send me a $10 Gift Card to shop since the store is usually not busy. I use the card plus spend an additional $300. Go to exchange two pairs of jeans because of wrong size. You have one pair but not the other so I choose another pair. The first pair you even exchange no affect to my Gift card or Kohls cash. I must return the other pair and then go buy the new pair this causes my gift card to be deducted from the purchase price and is not given back, even though I was going to purchase another item. Seems to me you offer me a gift card if I make a return I should get at least a store credit, not lose my gift card or have my Kohls cash amount reduced especially when I spent more than the required amount on the unreturned items.... Kohls you keep alienating customers like this it won;t matter how many Gift Cards or slaes you hae you will be out of business... at least in W. Lebanon....
What I am upset about is they have Christmas stuff out already, I know they want sales but in September having trees and decorations up come on that is way to early. You take the holiday sprit. Too soon why can you not be an example and say to the world that Kohls will not put Christmas decorations up till into November I think you will get more sales then.
returned a sheet set at your pittsburgh pa (steubenville pike) store that was on sale, that i paid for with a $10.00 card that was mailed to the home, plus used some of a gift certificate that i received. when i returned this set to the store cound't get credit for the $10.00 card unless i bought something that was the full purchase price of the set. even though i was willing to purchase something else with the credit. as a side not2: your merchandise is junk made overseas and filmsy. after i spend the gift certificate that was for $100.00 i will never enter your junkie stores again. an ex customer
The store manager in the Kohls store in Millbury, Ma let's you use expired coupons and expired Kohls cash from months ago. She's amazing! She gives discounts on everything! I don't how she get's away with it! This lady in front of me told her that she found this sweater in a an 80% off rack.(clearly, it was a new Fall sweater). The store manager said "No problem I'll take care of that for you!". I couldn't believe it! Come on lady have a consonance!
I paid $9.00 extra on two separate orders two days apart to receive my orders via air mail both in plenty of time for my only son's wedding and then to go out of town. Received one order yesterday missing six items and the other order today missing one item. Talked to three different people. At least one lied and said she was a supervisor, but the third person I talked to told me she was not. Not one person was willing to resend me the missing items at airmail despite their mistake. I paid for this. Not only are they stealing from me what I paid for the items, they are stealing the extra I paid for air mail. By the way, I have spend well over $2000.00 with Kohls this year alone - these orders totaled approximately $500.00 and the missing items were actually insignificant to the store - 6 pairs of panties and now in todays shipment, an $11.00 slip. I am only 46 but I have become disabled, and this is why I shop via the Internet. After how I was treated by Stephanie O and then Eric, if that is even their names, I will never shop with Kohls again, even though it had been my favorite store. My husband and I have owned our own business for over 20 years. If one of our employees had acted the way these two employees had yesterday and not taken care of an issue regarding undergarments, especially with my extensive shopping history with Kohls and that this is obviously Kohls screw up, not to mention I told him I would find a way to contact Dan Kohls directly and I did not imagine he would take too lightly to one of his supervisors not taking care of such a small (to him) issue involving panties, that his customer had already paid for and had already paid for quick delivery.
Dont order from Kohl's.com. Placed an order on 8/23 and used a gift card. The final receipt indicated that it took the balance on the gift card but did NOT reduce the total amount charged to my credit card. Called, on hold 15 minutes, to be told they were aware of the problem and emailed me a receipt reflecting the total charged to my credit card minus the gift card balance. I was eligible for $20 in Kohl's cash that I would have emailed to me within 24-48 hours. Called back a 2nd time and the Kohl's cash was immediately sent to me. Another hold of approximately 10 minutes. Item was to be delivered by 9/5. Went on-line to check status as my package had not been received on 9/5. Item was lost/stolen during shipment with UPS. UPS website said they would be concting sender. Told Kohl's on 9/5 I no longer wanted the item as I had lost the $20 manufacturer rebate and the 10% cashback bonus award through Discover. Was told that credit would be issued and a gift card sent to me. Again, these things were not done so I called back 5 days later (9/10) to be told that it is under investigation and that credit would NOT be processed for 2-3 weeks from 9/5 date. No credit to credit card and no gift card would be issued until they finished their investigation. People are apologetic but I still dont have use of a gift card, nor credit processed back, until they finish this investigation.
Store #1308 Manitowoc, WI has got a new manager "Missi", talk about a poor example for associates to follow. If she does wobble her lazy behind out from the office, then she just stands at the front of the store, talking on the phone. Since she has arrived, employees are dropping like flies, nobody wants to work for someone who doesn't even acknowledge your existence. She is cruel and rude, and will be lucky to have any employees left working there for the upcoming holiday season, matter of fact, they can't get anyone to even apply, and this area has a very high unemployment rate, what does that tell you? It's so funny, when they get word that "visitor's" are coming to the store, then they are all running around like chickens with their heads cut off, trying to spruce things up, it is such a joke! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU BIG SHOTS SITTING IN YOUR OFFICES AT CORPORATE? DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT THE DOWNSLIDE OF YOUR COMPANY? You try to run a store with no people working, expect the freight team to unload the truck, process the merchandise, and then need us to "quickly" throw out the merchandise, any old way, because there is no one on the sales floor to do it. Our store looks like a glorified rummage sale, nothing is sized or organized, with no rhyme or reason in which the merchandise is displayed, it's just a big joke! Then the big head honcho's strut around the racetrack of the store, and don't get into the depths of the departments, to see what a screwed up place it really is. EVERYONE is getting extremely frustrated...what would you do, if all of a sudden you couldn't get anyone to work at your stores? It's getting that close, and I heard the truck team talking, and they said "Missi" made the remark, if they can't "turn the truck", we'll find someone who can...really? The truck team is doing just about everything, and that's how she shows her appreciation. It would be sweet, to see her unload a truck...that would be the day. Kohl's is just heading in a bad direction, and if Corporate doesn't start listening to us, they will end up with no one to do the job!!! You expect so much, for such little wages...you should be ashamed, it's like working in China for 25 cents an hour...slave wages for employees, so the BIG SHOTS can get the BIG BUCKS! Terrible company to work for!
I am leaving my kohls today. They cut my hours on register because I can't get enough credit! Is it my fault I'm in a poor economy!? I always show up early. Talk to customers and get them smiling. Once I ask about the credit they flip on me. I hate having to ask. And then because I hadn't got on in a month or two, they cut my hours! I work 8-14 hours a week all because I can't open charge accounts. Well I found a job that looks at how I work without things I can't help and willing.to.give me more pay and more hours. Its horrible credit accounts reflect your hours. I can't live off of 50 bucks a week! Thata my gas and I have a wedding to be paying for. Not happy at all
Unpleasant Employees at Santa Clarita( Golden Valley ) store ! With three kids and shopping there for 10 years only because it's a block away we are just sick of being asked to sign up for a Credit Card ! And they cop an additude when you say No ! Most of them must get a Bonus or some perk to get us to sign up for Cards and Mail. I have enough JUNK Email. And the young employees are apparently cluless about the dangers of Credit Cards . So I save 3% or 5% " Really " and the card will charge me 30% at the end of the month. Pay it Off, sure, and how many people do that ? If fAct there are sometimes penalties for paying it off read the fine print . So Kohls STOP Harrassing us to buy into your Credit Card scams and why can't I just Purchase my items with a pleasant smile and Thank You for shopping at Kohls . We,re moving on to another store !!!! Steven, Santa Clarita
They suck
I've worked for this company for 3.5 years now and have never had a problem with my management/ admin. assistants until now. Because my hours have been cut to 8 maybe 12 hours a week, I had to take a second job somewhere else. Well, when i told my store manager about me doing this, he got mad about it. He asked me if i had already made a commitment to the other company and i told him yes I had...i started working at said second job that morning. Well...I was told that i needed to redo my availability sheet by the admin. assistant, so i did. I was called in the office this week and was told that i had to make a decision as to where i was gonna work and that i had ONE DAY to figure out which place it would be at. Basically I was given an ultimatum by my store manager. I don't appreciate it one bit. The reason why i took this other job is because every time I've applied for something full time, they ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS give the position to someone else. That's not fair to me. Not only that, I can't live or pay bills on 8 hours a week.
On August 21 of this year I was searching for a battery for a watch that my daughter bought for me at the same Kohl's store # 316. There was a struggle getting the back off the watdh but Sarah persisted and called Mary to help. When the two of them could not get it off they called for assistance from Kenyatta. The three of them succeded in getting the back of the watch off. Mary found the replacement batterry and helped me select a band for the watch. All of them did a fine job of service to the customer. Is there any way that Sarah, Mary an Kenyatta be substantially recognized for their good work? Thank you for hiring excellent employees in the Jewelery department in Store # 316. Liam Ferguson
I understand that when the store opened in Oct.2008' they had 14 associates unloading the truck, as of today, we now have 5! They expect the same amount of work to get done as the 14 man team, but now expect the freight team to get all hardlines done, plus mens basics, ladies accessories, childrens basics, and even the toy department. More work, less people and low wages. Because the floor associates aren't getting their work done on time, it reflects poorly on the truck team. Our new manager said, if we can't start turning trucks, they will find someone that can. Really? They are so desperate to hire people, that they had to put applications out at the front of the store, because people aren't responding to the ads they have on the internet. At one time they claimed, they only wanted people who applied on-line because they wanted people who knew how to work a computer, or had access to one. Many good people (older ones especially) came in to apply, who had good work ethics, and they turned them away. Now they are begging for candidates, and no one is applying because they heard what a disorganized place it is to work. When I say disorganized, I say that with true meaning. The name of the game is to just get the freight out, it doesn't matter if it is organized or not, just beat the clock. There is a 69 year old man who is like the "lead man" or thinks he is, unloading our trucks. He acts like he runs the store, and treats other employees like they have a mental disability. He is in charge of putting out the freight in the bedding, bath and housewares areas. These areas look like crap, and most of the stock is sitting in the warehouse, not being replenished. It doesn't look appealing at all, and needs the touch of someone who knows how to make it look good and inviting to the customer. But the ones who have a "flare" for organization and know how to make merchandise fit out, they don't give them the opportunity to do so. They just do everything half-ass at our store, and I don't understand that our district manager doesn't see this on her visits. Walking around the race track, and not going into the departments to see where the problem areas are, is just a waste of time. High ticket merchandise is just sitting on the shelves in the warehouse, items that customers are looking for. For instance, we have beautiful framed art sitting on shelves in the stockroom, and no one seems to care, that they are missing out on sales. People are always asking for it, and when I approached management about getting it out, and stressed that customers are asking for it, they just blew it off. I have always cared about the way things looked, and strived for organization in the areas that I worked, to make it a pleasant shopping experience for customers, but Kohl's has made it PERFECTLY CLEAR that, organization is not their main objective. Stick it out any old way, and have the store look like a "glorified WalMart" is what their leaning towards. Our store must have the highest turnover rate of employees ever, as they are here today and gone tomorrow! They don't train anyone, and so they become frustrated and quit, and I can't say I blame them. A few weeks ago, they had us come in for a session on "merchandising", and the first hour was spent making "PAPER AIRPLANES". 20 employees sitting around making paper airplanes, to show us how important team work is. Really, we didn't know this! Another waste of payroll, when we could have been getting something constructive done. This company has got to wake up, and get with it. You have to start paying your associates some decent wages and quit lining the pockets of the "big executives", who don't have a clue on what its like to run your ass off, to try and get your work load done, and try and help customers, with hardly any associates working. What happened to the day of full-time employees running their own department, and really knowing it~and then having a part-time person come in, and finish up the workload that they didn't get done, or having a list of things for them to do. All this cross training is fine, that you do understand other areas, BUT, have your employees work in a designated area, that they have the expertise and knowledge of keeping that department "up to snuff" so to speak. The end result would be a more well run store, merchandise would be replenished on a daily basis for that department and the associate would be up to speed on whats going on in their department, instead of having other employees messing it up, because they don't know whats going on. You will end up with satisfied associates who will care about their areas, and enjoy coming in to their job, and MOST OF ALL~ satisfied customers and SALES, SALES, SALES!!! Get with it Kohl's! Plus, you can't keep on with your no-hassle return policy. People are taking advantage of you, and in the end, your giving away merchandise, will be the demise of your company. The writing is on the wall, you can't keep on taking back merchandise that people have used or worn for a year or more, you'll find that out eventually. It's too bad that the company is going in the direction it is, because it used to be an enjoyable and classy place to shop, and I thought it would be the same to work there, but I found out differently.
Kohls in Clifton, NJ is the worst place to work!!! now with the new store manager that they have since the end of 2011, she has no respect for the employees, she lacks a lot of work ethics, she creates a hostile environment, a good manager will try to look for the best strategies to get the work done in the most efficiently way!! but what she does very well is screaming and yelling at the employees in front of customers or anybody without caring, she does not appreciate all the hard work and effort that the employees do, what she does is CRITICIZE EVERYTHING, even the work that the other assistant managers do!!!According to her, they do not know how to do their job!!!, she is not friendly, she does not say HI to you if she does not feel like to or specially if she does not like you!!! of course she is not going to give you hours!!! and if she gives you hours is because she will be expecting a visit!!! She just will come to you to embarrass you!!! and this is what she enjoys to do everyday at Kohls in Clifton!!! making feel everybody miserable and she abuses the employees emotionally!! in which Emotional Abuse includes everything that she does everytime the employees come to work such as verbal abuse and constant criticism, intimidation and manipulation!!! She does not care if the employees have medical conditions!!! she will snap at them!!! so aggressively and rude at the same time!!! A lot of employees are so afraid and frustrated of these UNETHICAL WORK CONDITIONS!!! AND IT IS totally unacceptable!!!! Kohls Corporation defiantly needs to do something!!! they need a new Store manager ASAP!!! many times does not even let the employees to use the bathroom!!!harassment in #1 in kohls in clifton, It is so sad to see that a Store with good reputation has a store manager like her.. and the worst thing is that nobody is doing anything to fix the problems or get into a resolution!!!! She always in a bad mood, she approaches the employees as she is going to attack them, she intimidates them that she is going to fired them all the time!!! Employees do not say anything because they are afraid to lose their jobs, and they think she is powerful and nobody will do anything for them!!! I will strongly recommend Kohls CEO or Corporate to take this very seriously and ask employees to take surveys about the management in the Clifton Store ASAP!!! or to sent somebody from Corporate anonymously without letting them know!!! Somebody needs to STOP all these violations of rights that she is doing in this store!!!
On Friday, I visited Kohls in Visalia, CA. I had gone there before and was shocked how unorganized the merchandise was...NOTHING HAD CHANGED. If you want to see an improvement in sales, I suggest that clothing be presented in a shopper friendly way. By type (blouses and tops, slacks, jackets, dresses, etc.) and then by size and color. Makes shopping easy and may even promote time to find something more in the store before you have to leave. I have seen thrift stores better organized. HAVE STORES TAKE A GOOD LOOK HOW MERCHANDISE IS PRESENTED. DOES IT ENCOURAGE SHOPPING WITH PLEASURE. I hope should I again visit a Kohls store I see great improvement or I will never again step foot in a Kohls. Thank you for considering and following up on these suggestions.
