I located an item on the Kmart.com website which indicated the item was in stock. I ordered the item, payed for the item, a day or so later go an email that the item was being processed. I got another email a couple of days later indicating that my order was canceled. So I called the call center to find out that between the time I placed the order and the processing of the order the item was out of stock. {why don't the system remove from instore inventory to accommodate for the online orders) The call center representative kept telling me she could not search for the item in her Kmart stores but found one in an afilliated store (Sears) for triple the cost at the Kmart store. She also said that she would give me phone numbers for me to call around to each store. I asked for the manager and she put me on hold for 15 minutes to come back on the phone to say the same thing, she could give me phone numbers to call around to each store. I told her that I understood that the first time and it was unacceptable and I asked for the manager again. She told me that was unacceptable with no further help. I d/c the call and called corporate, but they have no phone or fax numbers available. So, I guess off to a long wait with them.
My 14 year old daughter and I went holiday shopping at Kmart in Greenbelt, MD due to a sale paper that we received this week. We were searching for several video games for her Wii electronic game as well as other items. I went to the electronics department and browsed for the items that I needed. There were two customers waiting at the counter and no customer representative there. I asked the first lady in line and she said the cashier (William) was in the back looking for an item for her. While waiting in line until all were helped, another employee (Matt) came and took the electronics cabinet key. William fielded several calls while customers were waiting. When it was my turn to be helped, I asked about the games and i-phone item. William told me he had no key and that I would have to wait. We just looked at each other for a bit. He then helped several other customers while I waited. I searched for anyone near the electronics cabinet and found no one. I then returned to the register and waited for help. Matt returned and I followed him to the electronics cabinet. I asked about the games pointing them out to him in the sale paper. He obtained the item he was looking for and told me, “All the Wii games are over there.” I asked are they in alphabetic order? He said no. I said there are hundreds of games here can you help me find these sale items, pointing to the sale paper. He looked for a moment and said you will just have to find it. My daughter and I searched each game and found two of many that we were looking for. I went and informed William that we had found the games, could he get them for us? He said that he had no key. I asked could he call Matt with the key to get the games. He said no, this was not his department; he is in lay-away. So I waited for Matt to bring the key. A long time passed while other customers were helped. Then another man came with the key and asked William where he could find a pink Wii controller. I said hey can you get my games while you are in the cabinet please. He said sure. So I finally got the games and iphone item. I returned to the register and there were now many customers in line where there were none when I started my search. I said, Am I going to have to wait in line again? William said in a low voice “No, I will take care of you.” He began to ring up my items. A large man in line said to me in a loud voice “Why are you bustin line?” I said that I had been there for 45 minutes getting these items before anyone was there. He threatened me saying, “We can take this outside and came toward me.” I informed him that I am a police officer and do not threaten me. In the mean time, William was laughing at me and the situation. He said not one word like, this customer has been her before you or I will be with you in one moment. He did not call security or take any measures to diffuse the situation that I firmly believe that he caused. When he agreed to ring the item up, he allowed me to enter the front of the line. If he wanted me to wait again, he should have told me that. In any case, the confrontation disrupted everyone there. Had I not been a police officer, the situation may have ended in violence. Your employee William utterly disrespected me and was a very bad example of customer service. The worst I have ever seen.
In regards to being unpleased with visit- Double coupons up to $2 THREE DAYS ONLY- December 5th-7th, 2010! Dear K-Mart, I was very displeased in my experience at K-Mart. Sunday, December 5, 2010, I drove 14 miles to your store specifically to benefit the from this ad (attached below that states that all coupons will be doubled up to $2.00) and planned my errands around going to your store. I thought that this seemed like a wonderful store-wide sale! To my dismay when checking out I handed my cashier all of my coupons and she began to check me out. As I was told the grand total, I asked if my coupons were doubled. She proceeded to show me each coupon and say the "worth" of it like I was ignorant or something. When I informed her that the store was doubling coupons for the day, proceeded to say that she was new and informed me that she knew nothing about it and that I could go to the customer service desk after checking out. I asked her politely if she could call another sales clerk over to the checkout lane to answer my questions and she just sat there and it was silent for several minutes. She never responded or asked for assistance from anyone. A line was forming behind me with other K-Mart customers so I finally just said; "Go ahead and just check me out I guess. But I will be speaking to the customer service help desk." I paid and then proceeded to the Customer Help Desk. When I got to the customer help desk, the sales clerk had no clue what I was talking about regarding the "Doubling the Coupon" sale that was taking place at your store and had to use her head set to ask another worker and looking in the weekly store ads brochure to see if the sale was really taking place. After the sales clerk figured it out, I had to wait for my transaction to be erased from the cashier drawer of the checkout lane that I had went through before they could process my transaction at the desk. I had to wait quite a while for this to take place. To make matters worse, I just checked my bank account and found out that the items that were supposedly voided and returned were not and I was charged twice on my bank account. Now, I have to make a special trip to K-mart to have this fixed and my money returned. I had asked the customer service worker how and what to do to make sure that my money was returned after she fixed the order and she said that she was positive that it was returned to my account but if not, I would be able to do it over the telephone. This was incorrect information given because I just spoke with the assistant manager, Mary, and she informed me that I would have to drive there and speak with the front desk. I also do not like that I have to waste my ink to print out my bank statement off the computer and that you guys will have assess to seeing my personal information. This visit to your store was a terrible experience! I use to work as a cashier at a grocery store years ago, and we had to memorize the sales in the weekly ads. I hope that me sharing my experience with you will help better your store for the future and help to keep other customers happy. Thank you for your time! I like KMart, but will never shop in another store again if I receive another Kmart text message regarding store specials. This is an extremely poor method of advertising that is rejected by most of the general public.
I didn't know where else to send this so here it is. Did you know that the internet site for CW is flooding their shows with not only your commercial but with as many as 30 per show. Everybody I talk to has noticed this and are muting the commercials & surfing the web so your commercial never even gets seen. CW knows we will only sit still for 2 commercials at a time and they are taking you for a ride (your money). Check out the site on the internet. I bet who ever is reading this will get a promotion when corporate finds out. They would never get away with this on tv!
To whom it may concern, Let me tell you a little about this kmart. There was an incident where they had a man in the store following a female associate around. Later, the man was scared off by another female associate. I was working in my section straightening up, I had a buggy of re shops that needed to be picked up so I went to sporting goods to proceed in picking up my re shops this man snuck up behind me and asked for rain coats. I went down the isle to show him what we had. He began trying on one of the raincoats ,and keep me from being able to leave from the isle. He keep blocking me from being able to leave, and he continue to keep getting closer to me, and I would continue to move away from him. This happened for about 10 minutes before I was able to get away security was watching him at this point. With security around I took off away from this guy the guys right behind me trying to catch up with me. He could not catch up with me he ran in the bathroom and at 11:00 pm when I left the store this guy was still in the restroom. This guy was later arrested for theft of goods less than $500, resisting an officer, remaining after being forbidden, obscenity. I had never been so scared in my life then at that moment how I felt. I no longer want to work here because I felt that It is an unsafe place to work. I think that these female employees that are working need to be aware of what can happen even during store hours.
If I had known what a HORRIBLE experience I would have by placing Christmas gift items on order with K-Mart.com, I would have NEVER done it. However, I have learned the hard way, like almost everyone else posting on this site. Rathar than share all my details I am just going to warn anyone that HAS NOT yet ordered from K-Mart.com or Sears.com - DON'T DO IT. Even if the price is GREAT, DON'T DO IT! There is only a slim chance you'll ever get what you ordered anyway, but they'll tie up your money (credit card authorization) while they are spending weeks to NOT ship the item. AND even if you get the price and delivery date in writing, IT MEANS NOTHING. By the way, EBAY is a more reliable place to buy online than K-Mart and Sears.com.
I went into Kmart here in Delaware and used your layaway program. Went back to pick up my 2 items and only 1 was able to be located. I had the original receipt and the receipts given to me when I made my payments and they were no help the sales girls just stood there asking me the name of the toy, what it looked like, what color box it was in, ect. The customer service was horrible, asked to speak to the mananger not in, asked to speak to the person in charge not available. What is going on their are so many good people young and old out of a job I say clean house and start over.
I worked for Your company in Rancho Cordova,California, and I was let go for missing one day I called in because I was seriously not feeling good that day at all I was being very lazy and I was weak all day I was hired as a cashier on November 18th 2008, and was let go April 23,2009. At that time I had not received my last pay check the Human Resources department manager said it would mailed but it never did I very dissapointed with the way they handled themselves and now I can't rehired by Sears which would be a lot better. I still sho Kmart even though they did me the way they did. So I would like a reponse sometime soon so I can go and apply for Sears the reason I have not contcted the department of labor is because I want to work for Sears I like their stores Please Reconsider. Myself and husband while on a trip to the United States in November, visited the K Mart Store at 14091 SW88th Street Miami Fl. 33186 on November 17th, at around 4.p.m., where we attempted to purchase two phone cards. The cashier Edgard swiped my husband's credit card, and then swiped one of the phone cards to activate it, after several minutes he told us that the system had frozen. We then waited about 15 minutes for him to reboot, he called his supervisor and they talked for a few minutes, and then advised us that the transaction was voided. He then started a new transaction and again swiped our card, he then attempted to activate the pone card again and again told us that the system had frozen and the transaction was voided. We opted at that point to purchase the phone cards from another vendor. To our surprise two days later on checking our account we found that there were two debits of $53.50 each. We were debited $107.00, and never received any activated phone cards. We called the store and was placed on hold for twenty minutes before the manager took the call and advised that he could nothing, we would have to speak to the accounts person who was not there. We called the following morning and again was put on hold for about thirty minutes this time, before the call was disconnected. We left the US to return home, and emailed K Mart on the issue, and received a response, advising that we would be contacted by the store manager within two days to resolve the issue, five days later having not received the promised response, we sent another e-mail and again received a response stating that we would be contacted within two days. Guess what? the two days have passed, and we have not been contacted by the store manager. We are now of the opinion that we were scammed, and that those persons in the store knew all along that the transactions were completed. Where we come from, and one of us being a CFO of a Company, the cashiers are required to balance all transactions, before going of shift, and we sometimes find errors with transactions before our customers realise that there is a problem, so the only explanation for the refusal of the staff of that K Mart store to refund us money which was in effect stolen from us is that it was deliberate. We were charged for a commodity which we never received and would like to get our money back. What do we do to get our mony back?!
On Dec. 7,2010 I was in your store in Muskegon, Michigan; to purchase some work boots for my husband. I am an Accessiblity Advocate and make sure your business is compliant with the ADA, well when getting ready to park my truck much to my surprise the handicap parking is not regulation you have no loading zone as required by the ADA and nothing marked Van Accessible either. Your rest rooms were not any better either, what you have made as a Handicap bathroom entry is nearly impossible as the lip of the entry way is to high for access with a wheel chair, your signage is not right you cannot have it on the door and the braile signage as well on the door is not right. And the location of the rest room is way in the back of the store. The doors to the entry of the store the doors do not open to full capacity which is a must. The use of shopping carts to stock merchandise is a no no that is why you have stock cart and shopping carts are made for shopping, the policy of return stock to shelves must be done right away and no leaving of merchandise blocking anything. The Electronic Dept. was impossible to get to some of the DVD's could not reach. I am posting this as a favor to your customers but I will be contacting you also as this is a very serious issue. I will give you credit for the sink pipes being covered, and the mirrors at regulation height, on thing I did notice was that in the bathrooms marked handicap the womens door is way too heavy you may not use a dead bolt lock either, and in the mens also the door was too heavy, and no urinal which is a must. And the electric hand dryer in the womans handicap bathroom is too close to the sink and makes it hard to get to it if your in a wheel chair as I am. The electric scooters are hard to find being back by the pharmacy they need to be located in the front of the store. The photography studio there has a table they set up in the entry of the store and the tables block the game machines and the bench that is in the lobby there for people waiting to catch a cab or their ride you may not block this stuff. I found a couple of OSHA issues one clothing display where it was blocking a fire door, and step stools by doors or on the floor not secured or left on the floors. Over stocked merchandise not on the shelves but in the isles. To the customers who may read this take notes and if you find this in your stores or any stores you shop in you can leave me a message here and as many times as it takes me to notify them I will. Hope you all have a great holiday and remember those of us with disabilites want to have a safe and happy shopping experience.......please let that happen.
After going to kmart for their specific $2 coupon doubling event as advertised in the ad located in store and online,I found it wasn't worth it. I used four 2 dollar coupons so I should have received 16 dollars off my bill, well the cashier told me that they don't double coupons. Nicely I showed he the ad, she still insisted they didn't double them. She said that she would call a manager.12 minutes later the manager came(after explaining to her for 5 minutes)He said they wont double them and he doesn't have anything to do with the ad.He tried to tell me that they will only double up to 2 dollars, so I asked why the ad states "SUPER DOUBLE COUPON EVENT"if he will only double a one dollar coupon to 2 dollars???? doesn't make sense its a super double meaning they will double a 2 dollar to 4 dollars. Its not rocket science, so after reading they ad twice and the fine print and telling me there was nothing he could do about the way they print the ad, he just decided he was going to give me double coupons. Weird, then he couldn't get two of them to scan twice so he just told me my total minus 4 dollars. When the receipt printed he scratched off the total and reduced it by 4 dollars. This took another 18 minutes. Seriously what kind of morons does Kmart have working for them?? That's why I hate shopping there, not to mention that every store always looks run down and gross. Then after all that I got home and went to wrap up some onsies I purchased that same (2 pack)and realized that one was bigger than the other.Ahhhhh I don't even want to go back there to return them.At this rate how much longer can this retailer stay in business?
Dear Corporate, Your Kmart In Albany NY is located in a plaza where there is an appliance giant,Burger king and a mobile gas station. I was not a customer of your store last week when my brand new car was hit by your shopping cart. Your carelessness to address the overwhelming amount of shopping carts floating not just in your parking lot but across the intersection into wallgreens, Mobile and into the road itself. After i was done getting GAS i went to pull out of the exit to go back to work, your shopping cart was taken by the wind and slammed into my car creating $600 (DOLLARS) worth of damage. Your customer service was poor and totally Negligent! while your employees sat in the front of your building poorly dressed, smoking ciggarette after ciggarette, and cusing when they should have been doing what they were getting PAID to do... PICKING UP THE EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF SHOPPING CARTS!!!!! i think your 3rd party insurance company is just as pathetic as the kmart company itself. I hope you know since you or your insurance company are incapable of handeling an investigation i will be carrying one out myself =) i hope to see one more of your disgusting, rundown stores with a vacant lot and a for lease sign on the windows. I hope this posting on your corporate wall changes your mind, if so please contact your 3rd party insurace company and tell paul to call me with a better attitude this time and tell him not to leave a voicemail denying a claim that clearly was your companies fault (my claim number is : L10112751220001) Sincerly, Ashley
To Whom it may concern, Dec 7, 2010 I went to your store located at Kmart 3001 E MICH AVE JACKSON, MI 49202Tel: 517-787-3440 for your double coupons up to $2.00 I called to check the rules before I left to shop. The service desk is who answered the phone and I ask what days will they be running the double coupon special they tell me it ended on Monday Dec 6, 2010 your email says Dec 5,6,7, 2010 I ask How many coupons can I use per Item they say 4 per Item and you have to spend $25.00 Never telling me that its only a total of 5 coupons so I get all my coupons together and get to Kmart and spend my time shopping getting it all together get in line and when she done after 25 Min's ringing me up as her cash register was not letting her put the coupons on the right Items . the bill is much higher then I had in my calculator she informs me it only going to double 5 coupons, so I asked what 5 did u double it was my .50 coupons.so I said well If that's the case I want the $2.00 coupons double so they were not nice at all about this whole mess then decided to manually in put my whole order gain and once again she doubles my .50 coupons on I've been in line for 35 Min's there's people in line behind me not happy with me or the cashier she Findley called a manager for help what she got was a nasty girl who just started being a manager last week being nasty rude and never helped just snapped her key in the register and walked away..this time of year is so stressful as it is that having a manager and a cashier who can't understand that a $2.00 and a .50 coupon is a Hugh when doubled so anyways after all this and still not getting my point to them. I left your store without buying anything and will not be shopping at Kmart store ever again. I have been lay-ed off from the auto industries as a finance manager for almost 2 years have run out of my unemployment and have worked every part time seasonal job for the last 2 months and I would never treat anyone like I was treated and trust me delivering phone books for ATT right now is cold and not what kind of job I'm trained for but its money and I still keep my smile as I'm the one who decided to do the job so why would I be nasty to anyone for the way my life has turned so I can not and will not even try to unerstand anyone being RUDE,NASTY in a job they are doing so your manager and cashier have lost you a customer!
WOW!!! I really wish I would have looked here before I ordered anything from Kmart.com! WORST EVER!!!! I have never in my life been so let down with such horrid C.S. I just really don't know what to say other than I will NEVER shop here again and will tell everyone I can about this horrid place!!!!
Dealing with these people has been an absolute nightmare! Firstly, my fiancé and I are planning to get married on December 27th, this year and we wanted to buy our wedding bands at K-Mart, because K-Mart has the matching band to my engagement ring and they had it for a really decent price. I went on their website on the 27th to purchase my ring and his, only to find their site was down. Kind of bummed out, their live chat support said to try the next day. So, the 28th, I went back on their website to purchase the rings. The prices were different! We were frustrated, so I called their customer service department and spoke to a really nice woman and I explained to her my situation and how they should still honor the sale prices from the night prior because their site was down. She couldn't do that but offered me 10% off of the entire order, I figured, fine better that than nothing at all. She processed my order on the phone all went well and the order went through. Until my fiancé got an email confirmation for the order and noticed that his wedding band was not included in the order. She then told me that his ring was out of stock. I wanted to cancel my ring and she said she cancelled the order. I informed her I would call back on Monday the 29th. When I called back on the 29th, the rep I spoke to, said that the order had NOT been cancelled, she cannot cancel it and, AND the 10% discount was never applied! I was furious. She said I'd either get an email saying that they would ship or they cancelled the order (this didn't make any sense to me considering she had already told me that they could not cancel the order) but whatever. About an hour later, I got an email: Unfortunately, the merchandise has already shipped or released to be shipped for your order reference number 190248249, therefore we are unable to cancel the order, as you requested. Funny. Here we are a week later and I still haven't received my wedding band when delivery was promised by 12/2. My fiancée called back twice tonight, first got a supervisor, Brian, Brian kept telling him that their computers were down and he couldn't get any information regarding my ring and what the hold up was. He honored the 10% discount and said to call back and speak to some one else within a couple hours. At this point, my fiancée was reluctant, but decided to go ahead and repurchase his ring again because Brian notified him that his ring was NEVER OUT OF STOCK! Even though two reps before him told my fiancée that it was. He just called back and spoke to another supervisor by the name of Pamela, she did NOT HONOR the 10% off, gave a bogus excuse that Brian didn't put it in the notes. Again, reluctantly because we have our hearts set on these particular rings, he decided to go on ahead and order his ring, AGAIN, for $20.00 more than the sale price. He was instructed to call back on Monday to get an update on where my ring is, as PAMELA'S COMPUTER SYSTEM went down again. (What is wrong with their computer systems?) Of course she managed to place his order through before this happened. (What a coincidence?) Just now checked email for confirmation and guess WHAT? This order for my fiancée's ring got DECLINED AGAIN! Thank you K-Mart for screwing up my wedding. We are a struggling couple on a fixed budget that have been together for 14 years and we're having a very simple wedding at the courthouse because we cannot afford anything more extravagant. Thanks to your bogus site, well below par customer service representatives and shoddy computer systems, your company managed to completely botch our wedding to the point where we have no idea what we're going to be using for wedding bands! Here we are, as I add this last piece of information because this original story was posted on another site 12/06/10 my fiancée called K-Mart again tonight, and spoke to a man, Dominic, of course not only were Brian and Pamela “unavailable” but got the same song and dance again regarding my ring “our systems are down, if they come back up, I’ll call you back, if not, call back tomorrow.” THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! I’m calling corporate tomorrow and I don’t care if I have to call every hour on the hour, I WILL GET ANSWERS! K-Mart has officially ruined my wedding! To those of you thinking about shopping at K-Mart or K-Mart.com, BEWARE! K-Mart as a WHOLE is just absolutely terrible and after this experience we will MOST CERTAINLY NEVER shop there EVER AGAIN! We will be encouraging everyone we know to do EXACTLY THE SAME!
Keep up the good work i get my show from there AT a great prizes best place in town THANK YOU AND God bless
I went to my Local Kmart to pick up prescriptions for both my mother and myself. I told the Pharmacist that I needed refills on ALL my maintenance medications. He ask which meds I needed, I explained to him that I did not wish to share that info. out loud in front f the 5 other people that were in line. He told me "Well then you can call your refills in and I will fill them that way". I said why should I have to do that, when I am already here. Why couldn't he have ask me to write them down, or something else, like MOST pharmacies do??? My entire FAMILY will be taking their business somewhere else. This seems to be a TRUE VIOLATION OF HIPPA to me. I am one Very Upset Customer!!
I guess the reason that there were many Kmart stores closed over the pass few years across the country, is their services and the availability of the merchandise on their ads, always in poor quality. I will give you one example just happened today. If you go on to the web and look for their locations and store hours, you will find in the Bergen county, NJ where the stores specifically posted store hours for the holiday seasons, the stores should be open Dec 5, 2010. Guess what? When we got there to the store in Closter and then Westwood, they all closed. They were supposed to open between 8am-10pm, as posted. What a waste of my time! 12/5/2010 7:20pm
