Hello, I have become A cosutmer of Kmart and I am really upset about the closeing of the 100 stores around the country. With so many closings I think Kmart need to take back there name and become a new store of the families in theses tough times. I belive starting in the elementry schools and have the school lines be model by the fourth, fifth, six graders. These lines will be Kmart and Sears best lines such as Route 66. This could be the come back the company needs and to help save jobs at this time. No I am not a worker of your company just an cosutmer!, if you would like to talk more ideas you can reach me at: mrs.willucantamicka@gmail.com. Thank you for your time.
I just tried to file a complaint (about how my 6yr old daughter could not exchange a present she received because she did not have a receipt) and found out that it would cost me $25. What is the world coming to? A corporation that is out to disapoint children and a website that is trying to make money off of it. Merry Christmas to all!
Just came home from a shopping trip to a local Kmart in Victor, NY for Christmas gifts. It was around 10pm at night on Thursday, and there were few shoppers in the store. The parking lot was scarcely full, which hinted to me that the store wasn't very busy. It wasn't easy to find good deals in the store, as counters were displayed in a random-like array, rather than in rows by department. Then in other areas there were vast sections of clear floor space with nothing displayed. Employees were undistinguishable due to no standard of dress code, nor the use of nametags. There was no Christmas Holiday music playing in the store either to add to the "festive" holiday shopping environment. I'd love t see Kmart surive the times, but perhaps in order to do that they need to get back to basics and run the stores as they did in the 1970s and 80s. Kmart then was what Walmart is now. Walmart learned from Kmart. But I still love Kmart and hope they get back in the race!
I visited the Kmart store in Decatur, Alabama earlier this evening to return a pair of jeans and a pair of UFC gloves because they were incorrect sizes. I just wanted the money back or have it put on a Kmart card because I planned on finishing Christmas shopping for my boys . I did not have my receipt, but I told the cashier, Justice, that I had my rewards card. I had used it when I made the purchase some time ago. She scanned my rewards card then asked me if I paid cash or used a debit card. I told her I wasn't sure and she said, "just let me have your debit card". I then told her that I didn't remember which one I used if I did use one and she again said she would have to have a debit card. I used my Al Vantage debit card, which is a card that the State of Alabama puts my weekly unemployment check onto. Justice handed me the receipt, which was for $47.95. I asked Justice if this money was back on my debit card and she stated that it was already back on it. I stepped away from the customer service area and walked over to the jewelry department and called the 800 number on the back of my debit card to make sure the money was already credited so that I didn't go over on my purchases. This was money I planned on using to buy the last of my Christmas presents there at Kmart. Before I left my house to go to Kmart I looked online at my debit card statement to see how much money I had, so I would know what I could spend. The balance on my debit card was $ 104.57. When I called to check the balance after Justice, the cashier, supposedly credited my debit card, my balance was $ 56.62 (I had it figured in my head that the new balance should be around $ 150.00 after my return was credited). Since it was less, I checked the last five transactions and there was a $47.95 charge to my account. I went back up to customer service, Justice was gone as was the other cashier who was there at the time I was returning my items. The cashier who was there (I was too upset to remember to get her name) told me that Justice didn't need to credit my debit card, Justice should have handed me $47.95. I told her Justice didn't give me any money and that there was no credit on my card that Justice actually CHARGED my debit card instead. The cashier argued with me and called somewhere to speak to Justice. She told Justice she should have given me the cash back, not credited my debit card. She kept trying to explain this to Justice and told her to come up front. Justice hung up on her and wouldn't come up to the customer service desk. This cashier was more upset about Justice hanging up on her and still did not comprehend that there was a charge of $47.95 to my debit card. The cashier could never comprehend that not only did I not get any money back, Justice charged my debit card instead of crediting it. She continued to argue with me and another store associate who was standing there listening to this, told her to call a manager. I think he understood me and could tell that she just did not comprehend. She continued to argue with me and I finally said, please, just get me a manager. I was in tears by the time the manager, Mr. Prince came up front because I am realizing that they ARE NOT going to give me my refund and it looks like I am going to be out another $ 47.95 and this is the last of my Christmas money. The cashier told Mr. Prince that Justice put the credit for my return on my debit card instead of handing me the cash, as she should have. I told her that was not the problem, the problem was that she DEBITED my account for another $ 47.95, there was no cash handed to me and no CREDIT on my debit card and that I was now out almost $ 95.00 for a pair of pants and gloves that I had returned, but did not have any of the money for the return. Mr. Prince told me I was wrong, I just didn't understand, that she DID NOT DEBIT my card, my credit would be there in the morning, this happened all the time. He told me to go home, call my bank in the morning and I would see that I was wrong. I told him I understood that it may take a while longer for a credit to go through, but that he wasn't listening to me and the problem. I asked him why she would charge my card for another $ 47.95, he got mad and stormed off with me trailing behind him talking to him. I finally gave up, got my kids and left without my shopping done because I didn't have the money. I was sobbing by the time I left, I was so upset and frustrated. I know from working at fast food restaurants and my sister being in retail that more than likely someone could have pulled a tape and seen what transactions were made, this could have been resolved. I didn't have to be made to look like a total idiot in front of all those people in Kmart tonight. Surely there are cameras on the service desk that can tell if Justice handed me any money. I don't know if the manager, Mr. Prince just didn't want to take the time to straighten this out or if they were all just to ignorant to understand what happened. Was it too much trouble, really? I have two kids to support by myself and it has been hell trying to come up with what I have for Christmas. Maybe it wasn't important to your employees to take the time to straighten this out, but they have pretty much ruined my Christmas. For someone who is unemployed, $ 95.90 is a lot of money. I still cannot believe this happened. I was totally embarrassed because of all the customers who saw me crying, arguing and pleading with the manager to listen to me. How would you feel if you were unemployed and the last of your money was carelessly taken by Kmart three days before Christmas? I had to walk through the store to get my children and people were looking at me like I was crazy because I was sobbing so hard. Here it is 3:00 in the morning and I am working on a stupid letter to Kmart and I need to be in the bed asleep. I would really appreciate if someone would contact me, as soon as possible to help me resolve this. ksumerel@live.com
I was promised an order by Christmas and just found out that half of the order was cancelled and the other half won't be here until the 12/28/2011. 3 days after Christmas. How do I explain that to my child? Don't ORDER and Don't TRUST what they tell you. I live in San Antonio TX a town of 2 million people. We do not have Kmarts in our town. I can understand why now!
Ordered online on November 23 for some christmas presents for the kids. Today is December 23, 2 days before Christmas. I have been calling them since the 6th about why I didnt receive 5 of my items. My second call on the 10th they said to allow them 8 days to investigate. Well today I called again (like the 6th time) and was told to allow them 8 days to investigate. WTF? Its very simple I jusr want the merchandise I paid for. Plain and simple!
Kmart totally messed up my x-mas ORDER, lost packages, many out of stock items, a promise that was made to send me a gift card has not been meet, for all my hassle this year,no refunds yet for my out of stock or lost items. Still waiting for my gift card so that there is some type of x-mas for my kids, I have called the corporate office every other day, from the begging of this mouth , and still nothing, now I just want to cry when a Kmart x-mas commercial comes on the TV.NOT FAIR AT ALL..
I was shopping at Kmart in Peachtree City Ga. for only two items and stood in line, (the only line open) and waited for 15 min before a CUSTOMER walked by and stated they were checking folks out in electronics! Poor customer service to say the least. You think an announcement would have been made. They really need to get it together!
This is my first experience with kmart during the Christmas Season as I always deal with Walmart. Against my better judgement, I took the leap to Kmart! First, I ordered a Radio Flyer from on line and had it shipped. When I pulled up the item on line it said free shipping but that didn't reflect in my total. I called customer service, showed them the error and was told I would receive free shipping. They sent me an email stating the amount to be billed to my card and I was VERY satisfied, however, they still took the amount which included the 13.00 shipping. I called and was told it would be refunded in 3 days. After 3 days, I called back and they said 5 days. Of course, it never was refunded. During that waiting period, I order a guitar/microphone from the site to pick up in the store (paid for on line). I went to the Kmart in Snellville GA (Wisteria Rd) after receiving an email saying it was ready for pick up. I get to the layaway counter, in which I was directed, and the guy working acted as if he was camatosed. He mumbled few words. He blankly stared at me when I told him I was there to pick up my item. I had the item number & was totally prepared. He asked me what was the item? He slid away saying he would look for it. He came back 10 minutes later& said he could NOT find it and would have to page someone. Fifteen, yes 15 minutes later, another person,(this person at least moved his lips when he talked) showed up and went to look for the item. I literally went in the back after waiting another 5 minutes and found it myself!!! What a joke!! What was the purpose of paying for the item on-line and going thru the process when Kmart really does not care about living up to it. I could have saved myself 25 minuts (and I was on my lunch) by grabbing the item off the shelf and standing in line. The worst customer service ever!! I grew up going to kmart as a child and always wondered why other retailers are activvely running circles around Kmart! I no longer wonder! I will continue to post everywhere I can and contact corporate until I am reimbursed and/or compensated for the way I have been treated. I'm even thinking of picketing the pathetic place:-)
Three times I went to the service desk with the reciept and they gave me crap!!! They no longer care about being honest or about customer service. There was nothing wrong with the things i tried to return... all within three days of buying them. One of the times they made me pay four dollers more for the same thing even tho the stupid sale was still up!!! They are creeps and thieves!!! Do not go there anymore, go anywhere else...they deserve to go out of business if they treat people that way.
Hello, My name is Brittney Jenkins I was once a customer at your location in Clinton Maryland on Woodyard Road which I would NEVER RETURN to, I used your layway services there and your staff lost all of my items and just had nasty and nonchalant attitude's about the whole situation like it just was nothing to do have done such a thing, the CUSTOMER SERVICE there is VERY VERY VERY BAD! The manager that was there didn’t show any leadership and she told me that the store was rob until I learn that that was not the case and that this also happened at your other location in Oxon Hill Maryland. Most of the items that had in your layway was not on the shelves and not in stores anymore this was a VERY UPSETTING day for me I cried knowing that my child Christmas would be very disappointing to him knowing that the gifts he wanted wouldn’t be there on Christmas morning. I would like to be compensated and contacted By higher management because this was JUST PLAIN UNACCEPTABLE!
My husband and I havea grandaughter that lives in Colorado. We live in Arizona. In October we went on line to order her a halloween costume and a few winter clothes. We had everything shipped directly to her. No problems! The items were received in the time we were told. We thought, this is great! We can do her Christmas shopping this way too. Wrong! On December 13, 2011, we went online to purchase her Christmas gifts. We chose 8 items, placed the order and paid for it. Now when placing the order it asks you where you want the items shipped to. I entered in the Colorado address (just like I did before). Received a confirmation email. I noticed on that email that the items were being shipped to the wrong address!!. I immediately called customer service and asked them to change the shipping address. I was told that there was nothing that they could do because the order was in process. Really? I could understand if a few days went by before I did this...but it was within minutes of placing the order. Ok, they cant change the address, I asked them to cancell my order and I would start all over again. Was told they couldnt do that either because the order was already in processing. Really? The address that everything was going to was an old address that was on my Kmart profile. That address I had changed 3 times. Apparently noone else changed it. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that the supervisor was going to tell me the same thing. I said that I didnt care I wanted to talk to one anyway. I was placed on hold for 45 yes 45, minutes!! I never did speak to a supervisor as I hung up and called back. I asked to speak to a supervisor again. Explained the situation to the rep I was talking to. She told me that she would take care of everything, that I would receive another email stating so. I never received that email and nothing was taken care of. Do your employees make it a point to lie to the customers? After not getting that email, I called again. Was told that I would have to wait until I had tracking numbers in order to do anything. Received emails with tracking numbers, called again. Was told that I had to call UPS to have the address changed. Called UPS and was told that the "shipper", which is you, Kmart, had to call and request the changes. So again I called customer service. They contacted UPS with me on the line. Then they hung up. Customer service needed to stay on the line with UPS to do the request. So I called them back. This time UPS said they could change the address, but there would be a $25 charge per package to do it. Let me say this. All 8 items that I ordered were comming from 8 different stores aroung the country. Why? The rep said that he couldnt authorize those charges. UPS said that they could put a hold on the packages at my local UPS station for me to pick up. Great! Now the problem arises that I have to pay to have the items shipped. (the shipping was free online). I have picked up 2 packages and that was on Friday the 16th. I shipped them out with a cost to me of over $30. This particular rep that I talked to said that it was my fault that this happened. Wow...really? How? And this is customer service? Yesterday, Monday, Dec.19,2011 found that two of the tracking numbers were never placed on a hold for me to pick up. They had been delivered. Just dropped off at the door. Was told that one package had an invalid tracking number. That one along with the two that were delivered I will never see. I finally talked with a supervisor yesterday. It didnt do me any good. Was told there is nothing that can be done. The supervisor couldnt or wouldnt tell me why the items were shipped to the wrong address in the first place. I asked to have my shipping charges reimbursed and was told "No". Was told that they could send me a gift card for my inconvienence. Really...a gift card?? Whether I get one or not is left to been seen. All Ive been told is "Im sorry for the inconvenience but there is nothing we can do". This has gone well beyond an inconvenience. This has turned into a total nightmare!! All I wanted to do was change the shipping address. Is that so hard? I am livid over this whole situation, but noone seems to care. Kmart has just ruined Christmas for my 8 year old grandaughter, myself and my husband not to mention my daughter and her husband. Now I have to wire my daughter the money that has already come out of my account from the purchase so she can go buy the items. I dont get paid until 2 days before Christmas!! I want to know why the items were not shipped to the address I requested they be shipped to. I will never shop Kmart/Sears or any of the affiliates again. Thanks for nothing!!
In looking at all the prior emails, it still amazes me that people will always take the time to gripe when things do not go their way, but rarely do they ever take a moment to compliment an employee or the store when it is deserved. And do not try to tell me that never happens. I just had a wonderful experience at Store #3563 in Winter Park, FL from an employee named Hasan. He went out of his way to find a piece of furniture they had displayed for me. With all the holiday merchandise, I am sure it was not a simple chore but he kept looking in their storeroom until he found what I wanted. He apologized for the wait, tooked my chest of drawers out to my car, loaded it and was incredibly polite! Come on people....do not forget to thank those who do their job with pride and courtesy.
DO NOT EVER BUY A PRE PAID CARD FROM K-MART THEY ARE NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF THIEFS!!!!!!!!!! THEY HAVE GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND AND LIE AND DECEIVED ME FOR WELL OVER A MONTH .THEY REFUSE TO CREDIT MY ACCOUNT FOR A FRAUDULENT CHARGE FROM A MOTEL IN SACRAMENTO.EVEN AFTER I SEND THEM ALL THE PAPER WORK THEY STILL LIE TO YOU AND TELL YOU THAT THEY HAVE SEND YOUA LETTER OF RESOLUTION WICH NEVER ARRIVES. NO WONDER THEY ARE GOING OUT OF BUSSINES. THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!
I have been trying to purchase the disney botanical play yard for about 5 months now and can not get it. I have been to the stores and tried on line. It has been out of stock the whole time. I have the rest of the set and just need that piece to complete the set. I just don't understand why you would continuously put a product on sale when you can not get it. The past 5 months that I have been trying to purchase this play yard it has been on sale several times. It has been as low as $79.99. Store 7673 in Stevensville MD is horrible. My mother was told they don't sell crib mattresses so she purchased a crib online from Wal-Mart, then I go to that store and find they do sell mattresses for cribs. I have had just a terrible experience with kmart most times I go in there, but since there isn't another store like Wal-mart or Target closer to me I am forced to go to Kmart at times.
If I could give this less than 1, I would. I just read this beautiful article about people paying off layaways at K-Marts anonymously and spreading Christmas chear. I am a manager of a retail store myself and I showed the article to my team. As a team, we collectively decided to take the money given to us for our Holiday Party and donated it toward someone's layaway. I called my local K-mart in Layton, UT and asked to speak with a manager. I told her our desires and was given a very very rude response. She yelled at me. Seriously, she yelled at me. She quite abrasively told me I need to contact corportate head quarters and then SLAMMED the phone down and hung up on me. I was trying to GIVE money, not receieve a product. I understand that it's the holidays and things can get kind of hectic. But, I worked for K-Mart years ago and when I was there, our managers were NOT jerks. Good grief, this should have made her happy, someone was trying to do something nice and not yell at her. It's quite possible that for some reason I did need to go through corporate (although I am not sure why as no one in the article was going through corporate), but perhaps next time, when passing on the information, say it in pleasant tone, offer the phone number for corportate, ask if there is anything else you can help me with BEFORE hanging up on me, and maybe, just maybe, say thank you for trying to do something nice. I will donate my money somewhere else. Either way, I am helping someone, and that still counts. But, after this experience, I will be spending my money elsewhere as well. K-Mart, you need to get better people working for you.
I applied for kmart and got the overnight job as stocking the shelves. I went in and did all of my paperwork and everything that I had to do and they told me to come in that monday. I went in that Monday night at 9:30 pm and watched training videos all night and stocked shelves after watching the videos and left around 4:30 am. The next day I recieved a phone call from my boss and she said that she did not recieve my background check so I cant work for them. A couple hours later she then called back and said that I could because she recieved my background check. I decided to quit because it was interfearring with my other job and school work, and I recieved a bank card from them thinking that they would have paid me from the night that they made me go in, but NO they did not. I keep checking everyday and it has been three weeks, and still no money. They are so cheap. I deserve my money for them making me come in and watching the videos all night. They made me come in and everything and had none of my information ready like a punchcard. This is so messed up and something should be done.
On Dec. 14, 2011 I went into kmart at 8017 south Atlantice Ave Cudahy ca 90201 store#3337.Ipurchase items in the amount of $159.33 I paid with my debit card and ask for $20.00 cash back the cashier was very friendly i had no issues with her she did her job well. But during her rush to get the line going i hurried and filledout a credit card form and I gave her my ID. I then walk out the store when i reliaze i didnhavethe $20.00 dollars i went back in and inform her she said that she really could'nt remeber if she gave it to me so she had sercuity view the video about ten mintues later i was told that the video showed her giving me the money i then ask to view the video and was told No. I then ask to speak with the manager afer ten mintues of waiting he came and spoke to me saiding that the sercuity said that the cashier handed two ten dollars bills from her cash drawer that it was on video when i asked again to show me the video again i was told No. I was told by the manager tat he was going to call the police i said go ahead. So i ask for a quit check (close down the cahiers line and count the money in the drawer i was told that she had to many costumers) Just what is the store policy regrading an issue like this someone please tell me..... I bet if i was caught stealing and i said i wasn't they sure in hell would show me the video! Well after getting very upset and raising my voice i finally recieved my money. I still wonder maybe i drop it on the way out beacuse i wasn't sure if she gave it to me well because of not allowing me to view the video i will never know..
I had a bad experience buying jewelry at K Mart. My wife bought me a gold chain back in June 2011. It broke so I wanted to get a bigger chain, which I knew was a lot more money. I purchased from the same K Mart a 22" 10k Gold Mariner Chain for 899.00 and this was supposed to be 70% off. We took the first chain that we bought to a reputable jeweler. The first chain was supposed to be gold, 10k gold, he told us it was gold plated and not even 10k gold and we paid 230.00 for that one at K Mart. I had him check the one I just bought for 899.99 and he said it was also gold plated, probably worth about 150.00. I took it right back to K Mart and got a full refund. I can't believe a store as big as K Mart, either don't check the stuff that they buy or somebody is pulling a fast one on them. I will never buy jewelry from them again. The manager said "We don't make it, we just sell it." REALLY?
Its unfortunate to hear that Kmart and Sears will be closing the doors on many stores throughout the country - however, it is a failing they can only blame themselves for. Its not about the economy or the downturn of shoppers looking to make more purchases on-line - it is a simple answer - The stores are dirty, unorganized and lack 'luster' to attract new purchasers to their locations. We have a Kmart in our town - sitting on a prime piece of property - however, ever since I have know that location they have never been proactive in keeping the property clean - or the store organized. When you walk in - it is the smell from the 'food area' that permeiates the entire store, making you want to run home and shower. WHY have neither store revamped their image on the interiors - or with store personnel? THAT is part of the biggest problem plaguing the failing franchise. It is a no wonder that Target, Kohls, Bed Bath and Beyond have taken market share away from them - deservidly so. People work hard for their money - and when they spend, they want part of the experience in spending to be atmosphere in which they shop. Kmart never worked hard enough to rise above the negative connotations with their brands and Sears let themselves fall down to the 'Kmart' mentality. For a simple example: CLOTHING DEPARTMENTS - You will not walk into a 'carpeting' eye pleasing 'department' - you will merely walk smack dab into racks of clothes that are terrrifically OVERPRICED and much too trendy for the average Kmart shopper! Fitting Rooms are still chaotic and mismanaged with filth and poor lighting - the list could go on and on. Personally, I think they are reaping what they sow and can look no further then the marketing and management teams that so poorly put together and mismanaged 2 American iconic 'stores' into the ground because they stayed put in the 1970's mentality and not in tune with the 'shopping experience' of todays consumer. What a shame!
