Many thanks for finally taking appropriate action in an attempt to SAVE JCP! I am not an employee of JCP nor have I ever been, but having been in mangement for many years I would strongly suggest that you listen to your employees, as they know what is best for your company and what will sell and what won't!

i love your button down oxford shirts. Why you never have them available is beyone me. If you make a quality product, that is in demand, why not focus on making sure that your customers can buy the item. The store looks great, but if you cant go to the store and get the products you want, dressing up the store isnt going to matter. To take the time, and expense to drive to your stores and not be able to find the product that you advertise, is frustrating and costly. Not a good way to treat customers.

Why is JCP advertising bras on line that they no longer carry? If you click on a size, it says "out of stock". They are not out of stock at all. You just don't have them and you will not ever have them again! I'm a size 4 grandmother who has a very, very hard time finding fashionable clothing at JCP. It will be a real stretch to use my $80 gift card.

I was hoping for 40

I hope they stay in business. I have my gold discount card for my 35 years of service with them, and want to be able to use it for a long time.

What Happened???

Truly I am so disappointed in what has happened to JCP.So many complainst, where do I begin. First, the childrens clothes. There was a time I could go to Penneys and find age appropriate cloting for my 5 yr old daughter. Once she got older and moved into size 7, it was a wrap. Stop trying to dress kids like adults. Why is my daughter forced to wear skinny jeans? What happened to regular cut pants? Gone are cute summer dresses which have been replaced by garbage and styles appropriate for adults. If the kids are getting bigger, why are the sizes shrinking. Second, the womens clothing, take a page from Macys. If you want to keep more "conservative" clothing in stores where your clientel is older and less "hip" fine. However, stores in larger cities should carry more fashionable clothing. Just because I wear a size 18-20 doesn't mean I want to wear elastic waist pants and shirts with crazy flower designs. Give me a break! There is no reason some of the styles in the departments where the sizes are smaller are not available in larger sizes. We like nice clothing also, enough already. JCP would have better sales if they actually surveyed women of larger sizes who could actually tell you what we like to wear and not wear. You would save lots of money and have more sales instead of so many clothes on the clearance racks.

Good bye, Farewell

I do not shop J C Penny anymore. Have not in over a year. I see you going down the drain, and closing. You pushed your long term shoppers away. And we are not coming back. Found my clothes, and other things, at different places. With more customer care associates.and a more caring corporate office.

Not So Hot...

I used to love JCPs. When the catalog disappeared, and the flyers started coming in the mail, I knew things had gone awry. I wrote Ron Johnson, CEO-- and told him that i felt the catalog depicted women and girls in a negative light. Meanwhile, all of a sudden there's nothing at JCPs for women over 55. We don't wear tight jeans, we don't wear push-up bras, and we don't wear platform shoes... we learned the error of our ways with the latter in the 1960s. Anyhow, JCPs used to be my favorite store. Not anymore. So sad--women over 55 still have money to spend, and like to look stylish. So what are you going to do, JCP???

Customer Service?

Today I was out shopping with my daughter at the Moreno Valley Mall in Moreno Valley, CA. We entered JCP in search of shorts for my daughter. I found a rack of flip flops...$1/pair. Well, at that price I wanted every color! So I proceeded to gather one of each. All in all, about 13 pairs. We finish shopping and proceed to the check out. I get there, and I'm told I have to put back 8 of the shoes. "The limit is 5." I start to argue that there is no posted limit by the shoes. She calls a manager. While I'm waiting, an older woman approaches needing assistance. She is told by the clerk to go walk around and find someone on the floor. Really??? Ten minutes later the manager shows up. I explain to her that there is no posted limit. She shakes an ad in my face and says, "It's right here, on the ad...and it was in an email." I explain I never saw the ad and I don't get JCP emails. She shakes in my face again, "It's right here. Now put the shoes back!" I dumped the shoes at her feet and told her to find someone on the floor to do it. And I left. I will never again enter a JCP..anywhere.

overall

Have visited the store many times in the last few years and all the merchandise looks like second hand. Wanted to buy a dress to wear to my grandson's wedding and could not find a decent looking dress. All size thrown together and what you did find you would not want to be seen in. So much for the way J C Penney use to be. All they have is JUNK!!!!

Outlet Stores & Tall Sizes

How about bringing back your Outlet stores? Ever since you stopped carrying Misses Tall sizes in your stores, I was going to your Outlet stores which had a huge department and selection of Tall clothing. I am 5'10" - size 10, and finding clothing that fits, especially pants, is a challenge. Now that you've closed all of our outlet stores, Penneys is no longer a viable place for me to shop for clothing. If Outlet stores are not on your agenda, how about at least bringing back a Talls section for Misses into your stores? Is it really that difficult to cater to a segment of your clientele that is ever-growing? When I go online to order (rarely) the items I select are out of stock - I'm sure there are many others who would prefer to try on several items at a store rather than order online in several different sizes, and then have to return them. It's time to start listening to what your CUSTOMERS want, not what the Executives want.

Soon to be gone

Since the first of January I have visited JCP three times to buy a suit, on each and every visit the sales people were very uninformed, had no answers as to what was going on and frankly acted as if they were totally disgusted. One of the salespeople that I talked to told me things had really went down and that management would not listen to anything they had suggested. Most of the suits I saw were for the young and trendy bodies, not for a 73 year old that is in reasonably good shape. It is really sad to see the company go in the direction it has chosen, and if they continue in this direction they will soon be gone. If the current CEO can't figure this out, then maybe the Board of Directors need to step in and make the necessary changes, if they want JCP to survive.

Business Owner

Thank you for making the decision to return J.C. Penney Co. to what worked best for its customers. Speaking as a long-time shopper I have not benefited from the changes enacted the last year or 2. I have shopped less due to less products offered and fewer "deals." Thanks again!

Pricing Tricks Continue

My nephew is graduating June from College. Monday, April 8, 2013 I told him to go to JCP Vista Ridge and pick out a suit that would be my graduation gift. He called that he had found a suit (separates) priced total of $130. Jacket at $90. and pants at $40. I met him there today at 2 PM, April 11 to purchase the suit. We got to the check out and noticed the pants had been re-priced at $180. and the pants re-priced from $40. to $80.. the total now a 100% increase since Monday from $130. to $260. Ridiculous JCP doesn't get it. You can't continue to trick and cheat customers and survive. It's only a matter of time !

Marketing

I have been a customer for approx., 50 years. The NEW Look is not working for me anymore. The clothes are size 2,4,6 and for younger women. I could always find clothing I liked before this change. Also, your catalog shows the clothing all Wrinkled, which is not very appealing. I would also suggest you have at least one customer service representative be considered a Floater...could go into all departments to help customers find merchandise. Currently they are all in those PODS and not on the floor. I wonder around looking for a specific item and this would be so helpful to have someone approach you for assistance. If every store were set up the same. Children, preteen, women departments this would also help. I am really disappointed with this store. Please bring back the OLD Look. I am sure mature women spend money in the store. Thanks for listening. Joanna Wullschleger, Camarillo, CA

the new look

I am an occasional shopper in West Towne Mall in Madison Wi. Last week I entered JCP store for the first time since remodeling and was delighted with the new bright, clean, uncluttered appearance. I found the employees very helpful, was offered assistance and choices, and am very pleased all aspects of shopping there. I was never displeased with the store before the change in CEO and am sorry he was not given time to get the business to a more profitable place. Bring back the former CEO if that will return the faithful JCP customers that dislike change but please don't go back to the tired old look. That would be a poor choice, I think. Thank you.JCP

BRING BACK JC PENNEYS

I along with a rest of the current reviewers have been a life long shopper at Penneys. When the store started changing and brands I knew and loved were gone I quit coming. Bring back the Penneys we used to know and you will get many of us back. I am 55 years old, loved St. Johns Bay clothing, the jeans, the actice wear, and the tank tops. I probably spent well over $1000 a year there, buying things for myself but also my children and 5 grandchildren. I went into Penneys once after the change and have never gone back. Please bring back what made Penneys a great store for working class people. Great clothes, great prices.

JCP PRICE RIP OFF BEWARE

I was in JCP earlier today and could not believe what i saw. While browsing through the ladies dept, there was a team of 15-20 assosciates with price guns hustling around the ladies and Liz Claybourn Dept. In thinking that they were lowering prices I paid no mind. I soon saw a few shirts that I thought I would like so figured I would come back since they were 18 dollars and more. I headed back to get some t-shirts that I had bought just a few days before for $6.00. but now were $10.00....HUMMM what's going on here. I went back to the racks with the shirts I wanted to buy and the price had been raised about 20 % on each ALL IN A MATTER OF 10 MINUTES... can you believe it, price increase during store hours right in front of the consumers and the increase equals the NEW COUPON they are new going to give out....RIP OFF...New CEO you better come up with someting good or JCP will quickly go down

A suggestion

Been hearing on the news that JCP is in financial trouble. Been a customer since 1973 and want to continue. For that reason, I like to to make some suggestions. Today's shopping trend has changed. Perhaps you close some stores and focus on the more profit stores to keep them going until times are better. Also the focus could be more toward online shopping. Advertise the convenience of online shopping. Perhaps abs (if yoy dont have one yet) would be helpful and encourage people with advertising to use this method. Also, a a shopping network on TV who market you items would be cool.
