I am a Gold JCPenney Rewards Member and have been shopping at your store for 46 years. I just called your headquarters phone number (972)431-1000 to tell you my concern and the person who answered named "Kathy" hung up on me. I spoke in a soft voice and was beginning my sentence and she said "We hope you have a nice day" and hung up without listening to me. That is the first time any company representative has ever hung up on me. I am in shock right now from this call and I am very disappointed in the store that I have always like so much. I really cannot believe that this just happened. I also plan on writing a letter to your company after I send this e-mail.

Well, I disagree here...I think the commercial was brilliant, people REMEMBER this sort of thing, just like the Christmas Target commercial with the skinny blond running around screaming.....thought it was funny and I'm an avid JCPenney shopper and will CONTINUE to be one, even more so now with FREE shipping over $50 with NO coupon needed !! THANK YOU....

We have shopped almost exclusively at JCP stores for the past few years. I completely replaced my entire wardrobe yearly. The staff and merchandise have been excellent- BUT NO MORE! My wife, recovering from back surgery was awakened suddenly terrrified by screaming from my TV in another room from your startling, offensive, obnoxious, disruptive, disturbing new ad about no more coupons. We now immediately mute the TV your ads especially at dinner if we can get to the control in time. This ad has no place in JCP advertising and insults our intelligence. we will be happy to give our my rewards card back. Yes, it certainly attains the goal in advertising-that of grabbing customers attention, but at the expense of losing your customers. Dr. Goldman

JC Penney's latest commercial is the absolute worst ever! Really?? It's downright scary. What in the world were your advertising execs thinking? Were they on drugs??

I can not believe your new spokesperson. Is this the new J C Penney that your loyal customers have been waiting, A fun person, no. not family friendly. I will be ending my association with your company after many years

The idea was maybe cute- coupons and ads streaming from the mailbox. We get that. But the execution of the ad, with the horrid screaming that obviously annoys the very customers you are trying to reach, is a total failure. ALMOST enough to make me stop shopping at JC Penny. Your new spokesperson- Ellen Degeneres- IS enough to make me stop shopping at JC Penny. As long as Ellen is your spokesperson, I will not step foot in your store (except to run through to the other side of the mall!) not purchase anything from you online again. Yes, she is funny and personable. But Ellen openly represents the homosexual community; and though we are being indoctrinated to believe that it is politically incorrect to believe what God has said about homosexuality, I stand firm in my faith and will not promote that which is wrong. Who am I to argue with the One who created me?

Your screaming TV commercial is annoying and gets my attention by hitting the mute button. You need to look a little closer at your marketing staff as they sure did blow this one!

Your store in Houghton, MI is wonderful. Friendly staff and good merchandise selection. I was pleased to read in the Dallas Morning News today that much of the prior promotions will be ending, coupons, etc..... That will be a plus for all stores.....The only complaint I have is with whoever has been doing your TV advertising. The recent commerical with the screaming women is the worst ever. Get that thing off the air before people start to take it out on your stores and don't go to shop there. It is really terrible. Please Mr. Johnson, as CEO, you must have someone you can really trust to do your advertising - it is crucial in bringing back this long-known company.

While I agree with the fact that your new commercials are annoying - the screaming is just obnoxious - I understand the message you are trying to send. (I have been the receipient of many of your mailings.) However, the people who claim they will no longer shop at JCP because of these commercials really, really need to get lives. Sounds as though they are watching waaayyy too much TV and are crabby to boot.

JCPenney = some of the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I tried to contact a rep at various Texas numbers and keep getting shuffled to automated messages. They obviously do not care much about customer opinions, which is apparent by their current screaming commercial. Very poor advertising decision to air such negative garbage, for lack of a better word. Yes, they did succeed in airing a commercial that people will remember, but they have also succeeded in losing customers, and a great many I hope. I will never ever shop at JCPenney again; as everytime I look at anything to do with JCPenney, I hear obnoxious, pointless, harassing, screaming in my head. Thank you JCPenney for making me boycott a company for the first time in my life. I can't wait for day I am not subjecting to turning on my tv and hearing your commercial.

I don't know who is respodisble for the horrible ad campagin,but it is like running finger nails on a blackboard! I guess Iam not sophisticated enough to undersatand the point of an adult screaming there lungs out for no apperant reason. Who ever sold JC Penny this program should be forced to sit in a LOCKED room, for at least an hour,with full surrond sound and see where there stress level really is!

I'll be so glad when this new ad campaign expires. It's horrible! I mute the channel or change the channel. I absolutely cringe when this commercial airs as do the rest of my family. When I think if JCP now I will remember this horrendous commercial and go elsewhere. Makes me sick.

Whoever concocted this screaming commercial & whoever the idiots were that bought it & thought it was "good for business" need to be locked up in a room & subjected to listening to it 24hrs a day, day after day. I am joining others in boycotting the stores & if I owned some stock outright I would sell it immediately because that commercial is ringing the death knell for the store we use to patronize.

I'm just want to say that I'm really sick of your new screaming commercials, they're just totally obnoxious. Also the whole idea that you're finally going to put the actual value of the products you sell on the products you sell seems an ironic thing to celebrate. It seems to me that you should be hanging your heads in shame and apologizing to the american public for playing your silly little retail games all these years. I might shop and JCP again....when you have a real sale!

Iam pleased I will not receive all those adds any longer. I will be able to go into the store and get the discount there at any time. I get enough junk mail, I do not need a bunch of adds, they go in the trash. Hopefully, Penny's will put out a better commercial, with a good reason to want to go into the store. I like Penny's it is clean and the people are friendly.

I rarely shop at JC Penny as it is, but this commercial just--wow. It's loud and obnoxious. JUST a little bit. *Notice the sarcasm.* Advertisements are supposed to BRING IN customers. Not scare the pee out of them. I don't GET the commercial. What is it trying to convey? I'm thinking people totally forgot about the JC Penny sale, so they see the ads for OTHER sales and are like "OH MY GOSH I FORGOT THE SALE NOOOOOOOOOO". Other than that, I don't get the commercial.

I love the new ads. I am in the Marketing Business, a lifelong career, starting with a degree. Let's face it. The commercial is direct and true. Can't wait till tomorrow. And I am a customer of over 40 years, starting with my mom.
