Thank you so much for not caving to the insensitive theatrics of the group known as One Million Moms. Ellen Degeneres is a kind, compassionate, giving woman. That should be what people are looking for in a spokesperson. I was afraid that I would have to stop shopping at your store, but because you chose to stand your ground, I will continue to support JC Penney. Thank you again, JC Penney for your support to Ellen. And by the way One Million Moms; I am a single, middle-aged, straight woman, who doesn't like others forcing their own personal opinions on me. I hope you do decide to shop elsewhere; it will leave more room for the kind of people I want to surround myself with. Consider me your biggest anti-supporter.

I will not shopping at JC Penneys any longer due to the price changes you have implemented. The only time I've shopped here is when coupons were sent to me since you no longer offer coupons or sales I will take my business to Kohls. It is sad you have decided to implement your company like Wal-Mart. I do not shop there either I have taken my business to Target.

I am so proud of JC Pennys for hiring Ellen as a spokeperson. I am a hetrosexual mother of two, grew up in the conservative state of South Dakota and love what Ellen does and her values towards other human beings! The Million moms are hatefull and I hope everyone now will do more shopping at JCPennys to show the hatefull people that hate is not what God wants in people. Thank you JCPennys for having Ellen, I love her and hope this email will encourage everyone to shop more at your stores!

I want to congratulate JC PENNEY on their choice of Ellen Degeneres as spokesperson. Ellen is a comedic icon beloved by many! I think her gentle and friendly style will be perfect for the new image JC PENNEY is trying to establish. I sincerely hope JC PENNEY won't capitulate to the haters and will instead go forward bravely and confidently with Ellen as the perfect spokesperson. YAY,JC PENNEY!! YAY, ELLEN!!

It's fascinating how hatred spreads so much faster and louder than love and appreciation. Very sad! I am writing to commend JCP for hiring and standing by ELLEN. It's about time large corporations take appropriate stands such as this to help educate and eliminate the hatred and ignorance. BTW. I'm a Harley Ridin' male who who is very straight. But that's my preference.... Choose your own happiness!

I liked shopping at JC Penney and have fond memories all the way back to when my mom shopped there in the late 50's when I was 5 years old....I also believe it's time to make a stand "For Something.".....Ellen G and her lesbian agendy is wrong. I'm not her judge...God will do that. But I don't want to stand before God and explain why I supported a store who hires people that are deep in sin and don't care who "They" offend. I'm not some religious nut....I'm a sinner also, only saved by the grace of God through His Son Jesus Christ....As a retired Sheriff's Detective...there is a "right" and a "wrong"...your stores have choosen to be wrong and the consequence is yours. Thanks for the memories. I'll be sending you my last payment with my JC Pennies credit card with it.

I have to thank you whole heartedly for not caving to religious bullies who seem to misquote everything. Thank you for the courage to include all walks of people in your stores and not try to just sweep them under the rug. Thank you for not bowing or cow towing to cowards and bigots who can't teach their children right and wrong, run around like chicken little screaming stupid things, and are religous bullies. Real Christians know that you are doing the right thing showing kindness and acceptance to all, like Jesus oft did. Thank you.

Stop trying to make homosexuality about God, God gave us freedom of CHOICE so stop trying to make another persons choices because it is for God to judge not you! I hope that all of you have gay children and gay grandchildren because maybe then you will realize that we are all Gods People and your mistreatment of His children is going to get you in hell...oh did y'all forget that God created EVERYTHING, get a hobby and grow up. Ever burn out on too much exposure of something? well your continued use of ellen to sell your products is a step in the wrong direction. Tmobile made the same mistake with michael douglas wife, 4m for what? if your product and stores are what you advertise, a rock star isn't neede to sell your items. too bad JCPENNY we have ellen burn out and your idea she would help to bolster sales is a joke at best. When you hire a CEO to run your company like you did with little or no retail experience for the market you sell in, bye Penny's I remember shooping in your stores with my mother as a child, and it's a shame to see you fade out............

Thank you JC Penney for standing your ground and not firing Ellen Degeneres as your spokesperson. We cannot give in to the bullying tactics of these uneducated and uninformed groups. I will most definitely continue shopping at your store. If others are unhappy about your decision they can shop elsewhere. Good riddance to the haters!!

You should be happpy to aliegn your corporation with a person that does so much for others by her many acts of charity.I can't even imanage the amount of money she raises on a yearly basis. I have just started shopping at Penny's in the last two years and this will insure I continue to do so.

I am very pleased to hear that you have hired Ellen DeGeneres as your spokesperson. I am what you would call a conservative and have lived my life accordingly, practicing exactly what I preach. I think it's a brilliant decision to have Ellen, who is very likeable and well-regarded, to represent your stores. There is no "agenda" that's being pushed, it's just business and marketing. All these bigots who fear her must have a weak belief system if they are so shook up by this. I'm also happy that you have simplified your pricing. It was ludicrous the amount of mail we received from Penney's with this pseudo-deal or that pseudo-deal. My only request as a lifelong customer is to up your quality. I would gladly pay a little extra if the merchandise is durable and would love it even more if somehow you could get things made in America.

You have gained a loyal customer! I will shop exclusively at JCP now that you have stood by Ellen. She is a beautiful person who will represent your company with integrity. Thank you for your support by standing behind your decision to hire Ellen Degeneres and stand up to the mindless vocal minority. I have been an occasional J. C. Penney shopper in the past but I will return there more often for future purchases. After reading many of the already posted comments, I am shocked at the number of ignorant people who wrote in demeaning Ellen and all others like her (and me!) They speak not from their brains but from the nether regions of their torsos. Their out and out bigotry should put them to shame but they have none. Ellen explained her traditional values today on her show and they are far better than most peoples'. As far as the bigots who wrote in saying they will not shop in your store anymore - I say "good riddance" - I don't care to associate with the likes of them either. They speak of gay people as having chosen that "lifestyle". Sorry, but if they had an ounce of brains they would understand that we did not choose how we were born just as they did not get a choice. Do they really think we would choose to be something that would be hated by so many? Get real! It's too bad that so many base their homophobic fears on misinterpretation of religious text. If they really followed the teachings of the man on whom their religion is based and after whom it is named, they wouldn't have the time or the urge to put others down and judge them.

Most of us are not on conservative "alert" lists so you won't hear from us. I have shopped at J C Penny since I was old enough to remember and I'm 57. However, if you give in to these right wing nuts and drop Ellen-a kind compassionate accepting woman-as your spokesperson I am done. They are so meanspirited, so judgemental, so on the fringe, but they are well organized. I'm not sure they are typical Penny shoppers, but I know my family are from my 89 year-old Aunt to my 13 year-old son. BTW-love the company makeover. I never could keep track of coupons-too busy. Thank you for standing by your decision to use Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson for JCP. She's got great style and a marvelous, upbeat, positive personality that fits well with the look and feel of Penney's, one of my favorite places to shop. One more thing Penney's and Ellen have in common: courage.

I will not be shopping any more at J C Penney's Ellen EeGeneeres is not some one I want to repesent any place I shop. I am done with you as long as she has anything to do with you. I don't approve of her and the way she flaunts her life style all time in front of everone. If that is the way she wants to live that is ok but don't try to advertise it to my family.
