I applaud J C Penney for holding their ground for the choice of Ellen Degeneres as a company spokesperson. With all of the problems in this world people put energy toward a boycott of J C Penney? Get a grip people! Funnel that energy in to a cause that will really make the world a better place. Is this really 2012?

Dear JCPenny, Ellen Degeneres is loved and admired by millions of women who will be so much happier shopping at your department stores knowing that you didn't bow to extremists demanding Ellen's dismissal. We love Ellen and we love JCPenny for keeping it classy.

Love that you stuck to your guns in having Ellen as your spokesperson! I've been a JCP customer, well, practically since birth, but I pledge to do even more of my shopping there now that I know your company has REAL traditional American values: fairness in hiring and treating all people equally. Way to go!! (If I have any criticism it's that men's undergarments are way overpriced compared to other department stores for the exact same brands, but otherwise you have a great men's department.)

I want to applaud you for keeping Ellen DeGeneres the new face of your Ad campaigns. I can see how difficult it may be to have to deal with groups such as AFA and their constant threats to keep us all censored. As a heterosexual woman, I want you to know that their views do NOT represent us all and that I will make it a point to shop at your store, even more so now that I have seen your unwavering stand against the threats of an ignorant minority group such as AFA and OMM. So thank you and God Bless your business!

For decades, JCPenney has been my first choice as an online and store shopping venue. I will no longer be patronizing your store because you have chosen Ellen D. as the face of your company. I have destroyed my credit card. Of course your company has the right to choose a spokesperson who represents only a minority of Americans. I have the right as a member of the majority of Americans with family values to shop where my views are represented. It is not an issue of hating homosexual persons. It is an issue of choosing to spend my money with a company that honors my values. Very disappointing decision on your part.

I am very disappointed that you have chosen to use Ellen DeGeneres as your spokesperson. I WILL NOT shop at Penny's as of today and will encourage my friends and neighbors to shop elsewhere also.I do not want my children and grandchildren being inundated with a spokesperson for Homosexuality and Sodomy when in shopping your stores I urge you to reconsider you decision to keep her in this position. I have purchased most of our Christmas gifts from your store for the last 3 years, as well as most all my suites etc. In fact, I just purchased several items last week that I will be returning. I hope your misled advertising executives come back to serving the real Americans that have supported your stores for so long.

I have shopped at Penny's for over 55 years because of the excellent quality of the merchandise and reasonable prices. I liked the setup of the stores, the friendliness of the personnel and especially the sales. Now, with the new way of selling, it's too confusing. And, with the hiring of Ellen DeGenerus as your spokesperson, I'm even more confused. With 90% of the American public living the traditional family lifestyle of marriage, you have chosen to cater to the 10% who are not and who are trying to shove their agenda down our throats at every turn. Will you be having areas of clothing for sale that are for homosexuals only? I have cut up my two credit cards and will be returning them to closest store as I close my accounts and discontinue shopping at your stores. I'll be shopping at Kohl's, Target, Sears and WalMart instead.

Thank You JcPenny's for teaching my child to accept and love everyone and not teach hate. I do not shop at JcPenny's regularly now, but I will now with Ellen as your spokesperson just to prove a point to these hateful moms. I am the mother of a 6 year old daughter and I think that Ellen is a fine role model for her because she is the picture of success, strength, and hope. I have never heard Ellen tell ANYONE to go be gay so how does she promote kids being gay exactly??? I am a straight Christian and I do not think God is happy with people spending their life hating other people...its disgusting fight for something that is actually relevant. It's funny because as women who have not always had Civil Rights throughout history, you would think that you guys would be more compassionate...but thats the devil at work for ya! DON'T CAVE JCPENNY'S!!!

My husband, child and I are part of a traditional family that values respect, kindness and justice. As a wife, mother and woman, I want to thank JCP for hiring Ellen Degeneres as as spokeswoman for the company because she is a great role model and a good representative of a normal person in our society. In supporting a person that is part of a marginalized group of people, JCP is paving the way to a more respectful, kind and tolerant society, something that is greatly needed in these dire times.

What is it that people aren't getting about the new pricing? PLEASE check it out--the new everyday prices are now as low as the old sale prices. It's designed so you don't have to jump through hoops to get a great deal. The idea is that I can shop on MY schedule, and not miss a doorbuster because I wanted to sleep in on a Saturday! I love it. The Friday best prices are like the old markdowns, and new stuff goes on clearance the same day I get paid. I plan to shop after work on Fridays whenever I can. It worries me that many people can't figure out that Penney's is making life easier for them. I don't need a coupon to get a coupon price and I can shop when it's convenient for me. Maybe some people liked chasing after sale prices on the store's schedule--but I'm too busy to drop everything to meet a deadline. Shopping is fun again.

The hate group that calls itself The American Family Association is asking its supporters to contact J C Penney in protest, so I thought I should do my part to balance out all the idiocy. THANK YOU, JC Penney, for sticking by Ellen DeGeneres and refusing to cave to pressure from these bigots. Firing Ellen would NOT be a way of, as they say, "remaining neutral in the culture war." It would put you squarely on the side of fear and hate. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sticking to your guns and your morals and keeping Ellen DeGeneres as your spokesperson. I will make every effort to shop at your store more than ever.

I just found out about this story through the internet this morning 2/8/12. This is not a joke. Yesterday I went through the JC P store to get to the Del Amo Mall I thought it was awkward to see JC Penney's was practically empty for that type of day especially after all this clout of a new JC P well I guess everyone who is boycotting this store new about it before I did. I will give it about a year before they see that their sales have dropped even more than it was before. I hope that the liberal media stays on this controversy 6 months later to bring out the facts on sales. I still believe that only 1% of Americans are pro gay liberal agenda. They are just more aggressive in getting what they want. Our liberal state passed three times that Marriage is between man and woman. This is my guide to show that even in a liberal state such as ours most American's are not pro gay agenda. Although I heard from Ellen G on the internet that Prop 8 has been over turned again. Even after the majority of Californians voted on this same issue and won the liberal judges in our state always try to have it overturned.The next time you vote for a judge in your state find out where they stand on moral values. Congratulations!!! Thank you for not caving to the self-righteous, homophobic haters who tried to get you to change your spokesperson, Ellen DeGeneres. I have only recently -- within the past two months -- seen her television show. She seems to be quite kind, generous and a truly good person. A genuine human being you would be happy and proud to call a friend and neighbor. I will make it a point to patronize your stores whenever possible.

Having shopped at JC Penney all of life (60 years) and loved it, I am sad to say that I have called your Customer Service to cancel my account and I am cutting my card into pieces. I am terribly disappointed that you have made the decision to use Ellen as your spokesperson. You are turning a family oriented store into one that supports the gay agenda. I refuse to be a supporter of that agenda. As a Christian, I cannot adhere to your position. There are plenty of other places to shop that still support family values. We are headed for destruction in this country if people don't take a stand. I hope many more take action against you.

As a VERY long time customer and ex-associate of JCP, I was very disappointed to see you bring Ellen G. as a spokeman for your company. She does not represent either your customer family base nor the values of James Cash Penney, the founder of the company. Our family spends ALOT of money with your stores and we all agree, as well as many of our friends, that this will not longer be happening as long as you go this direction in your public relations arena. I am very sorry you have so drastically changed your view of your customers.....I will miss your stores but feel that moral judgement far outways any savings.

Sometimes it is hard to believe we are living in the year 2012. Are we really that ignorant yet? Having Ellen as your spokewoman is a GREAT move! I come from a very traditional family, never shopping much at JC Penny but now, with Ellen, it has sparked my interest again in JC Penny. Are we still so closed minded and prejudiced in our society that we can not accept people of all types and beliefs?
