I HAVE TO SAY YOU ARE WRONG TO EXPECT CHRISTIANS TO TURN OUR HEAD ON THIS ISSUE OVER THE CHOICE OF YOUR SPOKESPERSON. IN THE END YOU WILL LOSE.

Today I am sending you via USPS mail my JC Penny credit card which I have cut in many small pieces. As long as Ellen Degeneres is your spokesperson, I will NOT shop in any JC Penny store, catalog, or on-line service. Her life style does not reflect the values JC Penny should be projecting as a family-oriented business. Those of us who object to the homosexual life style are having it thrown in our faces in advertising, TV shows, movies, magazines, and now by none other than JC Penny, a business that has been a staple in my family's shopping for many years. No longer--and I hope that others who feel as I do will join in avoiding shopping at JC Penny so the message will get across to the corporation in the best way--via their profits. I am encouraging my friends who believe in the instructions of God that homosexuality is wrong to also avoid any connection with JC Penny.

I am surprised you would choose a spokesperson for your store as you have. My husband and I can't stand her commercials on NBC and hit the remote as quickly as possible to remove her voice from our home. We have not and will not watched her TV program. We have shopped in J C Penny's over the years but no more. Old man, J.C. Penny would roll over in his grave!

I feel so sorry for the gay and lesbian children born to people in this hate group (AFA). And yes, out of 40,000 moms there are some gay and lesbian children. I will make it a point to shop at J.C. Penney more often than I already do. Plese do not let ignorance rule.

I can'believe all this "stuff" going on about Ellen. She is a very caring person who gives her time, her own money to help others. Because Ellen is such a high profile person, she is exactly the right person for JCP to have as their spokesperson. She will be able to help more people then i could. Such hate! Such hate from people who think they know what God wants! God wants people to love, help and do the right thing-not hate, not to love only someone who thinks the same way as you do. For shame! God is the ONLY one who will be my judge -not "The American Family Association". Get a life - do something positive not "stuff" that is going to teach your own children to be judgemental, hateful and cruel!

Much applause and respect to JCP for standing behind your decision to keep Ellen as your spokesperson!! I really admire businesses that don't cave in under evangelical pressure. There will be many more people shopping at JCP because of Ellen than will be deserting because of Ellen! I am one of your shoppers and will remain so!

Hi, I don't usually shop at J C Penney stores. Not for any particular reason....I just never find myself close to one. Anyway, today I heard the wonderful things your CEO said about Ellen Degeneres. I like her but I am not writing to you because I am a fan. I'm writing to you because I was touched by your CEO's sentiments. I was touched by the fact that; the reason he likes Ellen is because she shares the values that he places on other human beings. I heard the letter he wrote and it was so nice and refreshing (and comforting) to hear that; someone who could join his peers down the road of apathy, still remembers what it feels like to be human. I am not a rich person, but I am not poor. I think I am going to make it a point to purchase items at J C Penney. I think that if I shop there I will feel as though I am making a contribution rather than a purchase.

Thank you so much JC Penney for standing by your decision to hire Ellen as your spokesperson. She is an upstanding human being who exemplifies all we should aspire to. I already shop at JC Penney and will be sure to continue.

Thank you JCP for your decision to keep Ellen as your spokesperson. Your corporate evolution is a sign of excellent management that will lead JCP as a leader in the retail industry. I also recently visited one of your stores after the new pricing policy was rolled out. I have to compliment the execution of the change over and the marketing and media promotions. JCP is re inventing themselves and Ellen is the perfect celebrity to promote your new corporate direction.

I just watched the fantastic video of Ron Johnson addressing the controversy about naming Ellen as a spokesperson for J.C. Penney. Thank you for standing by Ellen and not caving to the pressure. Ellen will be an great ambassador for your company. She if a person of kindness and integrity.

Ellen said it best when she stated what she stands for. And she is entitled to a private sex life just as heterosexuals are. Gay people are no more of a threat to society than heterosexuals, perhaps even less so. JCP is a great store and I'm now even more impressed with their corporation and their decision to keep Ellen as their spokesperson. I have shopped JCP for many years and will continue to do so. And, yes, I'm a heterosexual mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Shame on those supposedly sanctimonious million moms for their narrow mindedness and their lack of love for their fellow humans. They are perpetuating the hatred that exists in our world.

Haven't been in your store in years even though it is an anchor in a mall I shop in all the time. However, because you supported Ellen, I am definitely going in your store and support people that support decency.

I stopped shopping at jc penney after the holidays this year because I felt that they, as well as other stores, cheated people into thinking they were getting a good deal. However, now I know the price of what I am getting before I buy it, I plan to shop there again and frequently. Very respectable. Also, as a professional woman who believes in honesty, caring for one another, and equality I commend jcpenney for standing behind the decision to have Ellen as the spokesperson. My family and I will enjoy seeing her in the commercials. Please release the date of her first commercial and I will be sure to shop that day as well as others. Thank you for standing up to the bullies.

I wish that you had more than 5 stars. You are standing by someone who is lovable and represents what it means to be a TRUE united people. I'm glad that your company stands up for a Moral and Ethical person like Ellen, unlike some people who have made some very negative comments on your page just because of a spokesperson. I will be shopping at JC Penney's more often now.

JCP - You did the right thing. Thank you for not yielding to the pressure of One Million Moms. Ellen is a terrific choice for spokesperson. I've always enjoyed shopping at JCP but now will feel even better about it.

Thank you JCPENNEY for standing up for all that's right and good by refusing to be intimidated by the mindless drones who claim 'family values' will stop them from shopping at a JCP store. It's the funniest thing when most of those who claim to be long-term shoppers can't spell the name of your company. It's clear they're prevaricating (to put it kindly). The guy who'll cut up his "JCPennies" credit card made me laugh the longest. I confess I haven't spent 'too' much time at a JCP store -although I do spend a lot at each visit, simply because my closest store is a bit of a drive, but I WILL make sure to head there first when I next shop for Christmas and family gifts. Want everyone else visiting here to know that your Home Store - especially the small kitchen appliances - rocks! Ellen DeGeneres is a clear-headed, extremely intelligent, honest, upstanding citizen who has done more good in her life than any THOUSANDS of these haters. She's universally loved by all of us straight people as well - something which seems lost on that group and its followers. Kudos to you for recognizing her immense and universal appeal.

Truth is I haven't shopped at JC Penny's for years. But, I've GOT to buy something now! Way to go for not only choosing Ellen, who I like but don't watch, but for not backing down from bigotry. Best

Many in this country are extreme in views & are railing against a person they know nothing about simply because of her personal preference. If they took a look of all of the philanthropic work Ellen does compared to their own lives, they would hang their heads. I will now frequent JCP MORE than I would have otherwise. I have not been a loyal consistant shopper of JCPenneys in the past. However, I would like for the corporate office to know that you can count on my business from now on.
