I am so frustated with the JCPenney in Sterling Hts Michigan, in particular with the custom blinds shop. Apparently that part of the JCPenney business is sort of a division of JCPenney. I was told by the store manager that the custom blinds area is actually rented space by the custom blinds division. I ordered blinds in Sept 2011. I was told they would be in by the week of Thanksgiving. They came 2 weeks after that. When they arrived, they were not as we ordered. There was no trim on the curtains that we requested, and we were given blinds when we ordered shutters. On top of that, they installed the drapes so that they hang directly on top of my heater/AC vents. They installed these while I was at work, and my mother was there. They told my mother that we should place the little plastic directional covers over the heat/AC vents. Nice solution... they want me to have something that makes my drapes hang incorrectly. I'm sorry, but for $3000, I should not have tacky plastic vent covers pushing my drapes away. I have been calling JCPenney ever since. They rarely answer the phone. The sales person was supposed to come out to my house (finally) on Jan 28, 2012 to correct the issues. She cancelled and rescheduled for the Feb 4, 2012. On Feb 4, she did not show up. I was home all day waiting for her. I called the store 2 hours after she was supposed to arrive and they said that they would call her and have her get in touch with me. She never did. The next morning, I saw a little business card in the door. I don't know if she came in the middle of the night to place the card there, or if she came while I was in the bathroom, and I didn't hear her knock or ring doorbell. I am not sure when she came, but she never called me back. I've called them 2 more times since. Again, no one answers. I leave voice mails, but no one returns th

I do not understand why God fearing Christians cannot take a stand on this issue? Ellen D. clearly does not represent wholesome family values. She is gay and married to another woman for goodness sake! That to God is wrong. For those of us who are faithful to God we cannot just stand by and let this happen. I am tired of homosexuals and their sponsors forcing others to accept this wrong lifestyle or calling it acceptable. The greed of J.C. Penny to now want the gay shopper is shameful.

I am not a frequent shopper at JCP but in light of your decision to stand behind Ellen as your spokesperson I will be shopping there more often. I applaud JCP for not giving in to a bunch of vocal bullies. And as for all of you that are "not going to shop anywhere that supports Gays or Lesbians" then you all better get rid of your computers, your coffee, your running shoes and you probably should stop that order of roses for your husband/wife that is being delivered tomorrow for Valentines day!

Wow. I must confess my complete and utter shock/dismay with many of the reviews about JCPenney now. To slam an entire company simply because their chosen spokesperson is gay, is to say the least, very childish. Just because you dislike Ms. Degenere's chosen lifestyle doesn't mean you have to be so vocal about it. I am a recent employee of JCP, and must say that while I am not a huge fan of Ellen, what they are doing with the store is remarkable. So quit being so closed minded, and look around to see what the store may have to offer you. Just because Ellen is spokesperson for JCPenney doesn't mean that if you purchase any clothing from them will make you gay. Geez.

It is sad to continue to hear CHRISTIAN people spew HATE. THOU SHALL NOT HATE!!!! JC Penney hired an actor. If you do not like Ellen then that is your business. People who live in glass houses should not throw rocks!!!!! Remember that this is the UNITED STATES and people are free to live as they choose. Ellen is not hurting her partner, children or animals. Therefore you should go after people like the man who killed his wife and children (last week). Get those weirdo’s off the streets. If you are so worried about actors and the way they live, then you and your family must walk on water. As a Catholic I was brought not to judge other people. That is GOD’s job. We are to live with respect for all GOD creatures. People need to look at JCPenneys as a big corporation who uses and abuses their employees. CHECK OUT WHAT THEY DID TO ELDERLY EMPLOYEES AT THE WESTMINSTER COLORADO STORE. The new general manager Pat Miller swooped in and suddenly cut all full time employees (elderly employees) hours if they could not work at night. Now most of these employees were there for 20+ years. Within 6 months, she eliminated their jobs. She even got rid of elderly employee’s who had accidents at the store and forced them into retirement. She threatened them with saying “your retirement may be in jeopardy”. Look at more their employment practices then worrying about Ellen as a spoke person. Look out for American workers and their family.

Being a Christian, I applaud JC Penny's. One of Jesus greatest teaching was and if you follow Jesus to this day, "Thou shall not judge least Thee be judged." For all those who have so much hate in your hearts, remember Jesus words.

Well I now have one credit card I will be paying off....went to see your new concept and it stinks. Takes all the fun out of shopping, the store has a cold feel to it now, you have actually taken all the fun out of shopping if that is possible. I come from a family where my mother would bring home literally bags of products from your sales and I carried on the tradition until now. I will miss shopping at JC Penney..... p.s. the womens department clothes, better find a new buyer.

Thank you JC Penney for standing up for Ellen DeGeneres and not caving in to one intolerant group. We made a special trip to spend more than $200 in your Wayne, NJ store, and we are not wealthy people. We hope you will continue to support causes like the PA public school that wasn't paying teachers. We and many other fair-minded Americans are behind you.

I have a question for people who won't shop at JCPenney because of strong moral values and that she does not represent ALL americans. If JCPenney were to select a (in your eyes) strong christian role model as their spokeswoman or man, would you still say that they spoke to ALL americans? Is it not great that America has all these different influences and choices, that is what makes us American. Religion also offers the option of choice and different paths (not everyones path is the same) and we are all equal in god's eyes. So if we are all equal in gods eyes, why does there become this inequality in yours when you say you follow god. Just wondering what your take on it is. Don't automatically start saying blasphemy blasphemy or anything. If you can write out a clear argument I will read it. Otherwise, you can find me at JCPenney shopping their great deals.

Taking a stance against hate, fear, and ignorance has shown me that JC Penny's has what it takes to create an amazing culture of fairness for all! As a proud JCP card holder and shopper I applaud you for showing backbone in the face of bullies that represent a shrinking desperate population of Americans.

I have been a shopper for a long time. I find your choice of hiring Ellen as your spokesperson to be in poor taste. Not because Ellen is gay, but because Ellen and all the other Hollywood stars companies used to represent the average Jane/Joe do not and never have represented your shopper. Your shopper is an intelligent person juggling their career, household, life, living within their means. They are the one who finds value in your store. Not Ellen who has millions of dollars and has no connection to your shopper. Wake up JCPenney and value your customer and in the end they will shop at your store. The next time you are looking for a spokesperson have a contest and choose a valued customer to represent your company. In this economy you will be doing some family a hugh favor as well as sending the message that you stand behind your customer. It is this relationship that makes or breaks a company - the choice is yours. I will be on the sidelines watching.

im a employee that has worked at jcpenney for 7 years I was a full time employee working 35 hours I went from one week to the next only working 8 hours a week they say they are fair. Not if the company so much about being fair they would treat everyone equal but this company has prefrence on the employee they would rather give hours too.

I am a very frequent shopper of JCPenneys. I am also very disappionted that you have decided to hire Ellen as your spokesperson!! JCPenneys was founded on Christian values and principles!! It should not use a spokesperson who is openly a homosexual!! I urge you to rethink this decision. If she continues to be the spokesperson, I will shop elsewhere. As a proud employee of JCP I am honored to be a part of Ron Johnson's changes. He is a breath of fresh air to the company. I am also proud to be able to say that Ellen is part of our team. I have always believed that it is not our place to judge but God's. I also believe that God created us all and if people have a problem with homosexuality they should be angry at God. We love you Ellen and welcome you to our team.

When a corp chooses a spokesperson there is bound to become one or group against it. Thank you JC Penney for standing up to your right to chose your spoke person without caving in to the vocal minority. I usually don't get involved with these type of protest but it seems we listen too much to the what I call 5 per center who are vocal while most of us just stay quite. My wife is an Ellen fan..I watch her shows some times but believe everyone has a right to their view and applaud Penney's stand. Follow your heart not some mis guided folks.

Your decision to have Degeneres as your spokesperson was dumb to say the least. Haven't you figured out that all of these states where they have passed the gay marriage laws was done only by a group of leglislators who thought they could get away with it? Not one was passed by a vote of the people and in fact the gays and the democrats don't want a vote by the people because they know they would lose every time. Degeneres has been proped up by the various networks that have hired her over the years. People just flat don't like her. Its not due to her comedy but because she's a lesbian. Virtually every show she was the star on has failed. The only one that has worked is the daytime talk show and I'll bet shes normally run in last place all these years. People don't want or support the homosexual or lesbian agenda. As for me I will be shopping somewhere else. I will make it a point to. I will go out of my way to because of your dumb decision. J C Penny's committment to support her flies in the face of doing whats right for the company. If you had Tiger Woods as your spoaksman when his affairs came out in public would you have kept him or dropped him? I would bet you would have dropped him. But Degeneres a person who openly admits her perversion and you welcome it with open arms. I have a question. Have you ever heard her or any other homosexual person say that having group sex was wrong and should be outlawed? How about sex with children? Would they advocate those that do should be put in jail? If so what age is it inappropiate? Is there ANY sex they think should be outlawed or wrong? I've never heard ANY homosexual or lesbian person say there was. I'm thinking of the local library I go to. They recently built on a childrens center next to the main library. There's a hall connecting the two structures with a hall in between with the bathrooms. About 3 weeks after the kids center opened I went in to use one of the stalls. There in large black majic marker was instructions on how to have homosexual sex between the stalls. It was obivous to me they wanted the kids to see or possibly partisipate. I notified the library and now they have a full time cop there. Ahh. The homosexual agenda. Gee JC Penny. Maybe you should be sued for endorsing that type of lifestyle in your stores. Theres no doubt that there will be more homos's and lesbians in your stores now. Of course much less people who are normal. I'm talking about the Christians, Jews, Muslims, and all others who believe this lifestyle is wrong - I'm talking here about almost everyone else on the planet of course. Good bye J C Penny. There are other better stores around. You will hold on to your President's position until you die a slow painful death as the 70 - 80% of Christians learn what you have done. Then Degeneres and your President will go by-by. Perhaps it won't be too late.

Shame on you JC Penney's you were a family store. Sorry you have gone to to the dark side. When Ellen's goes, (she can live any lifestyle, just don't force us to accept it,) I'll be back in your store.
