Who is standing up for the JCP employees? I once worked for JCP and now my daughter does. If I thought that I was treated unfairly then, what she experiences now is multiplied many times. I was loyal to JCP. She has been, also. People are standing up for "Ellen" and homosexual "rights", while people who work within the company are barely making minimum wage after years of work and are having their hours cut. This week, my daughter checked her schedule and had 30 hours. When she looked again, the store manager had cut it to 18. This is her only income. If this company wants to survive, my advice is to follow the example of J.C.Penney, who believed in treating associates fairly and with respect. The people at the "bottom" are the ones actually making the money for JCP, and the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. This is not the America or JCP I was once proud to be a part of.
I will never shop at JC Penney again since they no longer advertise on Rush Limbaugh's show and reading these reviews on how they treat employees. The woman advocating FREE birth control is a leftist and politically involved with the democrat party. This is not about birth control it is about FREEDOM and LIBERTY. And, freedom from government intervention in religion. I thought the democrats did not want to be in our BEDROOM. So we have a corrupt administration in control of our lives. This woman can go down 3 miles to Target and get her pills for 10$. The government supports Planned Parenthood with out tax dollars and they will give them out free or at a discount. Are people really so stupid, no longer able to use common sense or use logic? They are unable to see through all this corruption of this admistration and those who support the leftist politicians ruining this country. The president said that he was certain her mom would be proud of her. Thank goodness she is not my daughter, I would be humiliated by those actions. And now the CEO of JC Penney fall in line. I will no longer shop at this store. Meiers and Target will get my business. Macy's and others. There are plenty of stores. And, trust me, when I know something is totally wrong, I will not take part in corruption. There are eating places in our area owned by individuals who are ruthless and I have never been to those establishements--high end and moderately priced places. Not so good luck to you...Mr. Johnson.
I want to thank JCP for the increase in the gold card/assoc discount to 25%, to offset the loss of coupons. I have found your new pricing to be fair but do think the average customer will not like the absence of coupons and other incentives. I am in Michigan, and the economy here is poor like other areas of the country. Without any coupons, your loyal customers will transfer their business to Wal-Mart and Target, who still have sales on items and comparative mechandise. Also, having "special" first and third Fridays discounts doesn't work for many. Working people, students and others on schedules will not want to drop everything to run to your stores on Friday to shop. This would be beneficial for retired people and others who don't have time commitments. I also agree with the writer who dislikes the type of clothing you are selling now. For years, JCP was THE place to go for sensible apparel. Now it seems to be geared for kids and young adults who want to show us everything they possess. Please keep in mind that the 40 and up generations of women want to dress differently from a teenager, and not all like Alfred Dunner style. Please rethink your assortment.
SHAME on J.C. Penny for being intimidated to pull their advertising from the Rush Limbaugh show. I don't agree with his wording but this is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Our constitution guarantees Freedom of Speech and I might just add your ability to do business in this Republic. I for one will pass the word to boycott J.C.Penny if they bow to the "Political Correctness" I would hope that they believed in Freedom and if you don't like something that is said then don't listen. I have been a JCPenney loyal shopper since 1973. I will continue to be so, but I felt compelled to ask for an apology from the corporate office. If I understand the new ad campaigns of late, JCP has been playing games with me and the public for years. The slick ads do not admit culpability on Penney's part however. It would be so refreshing to have a corporate suit admit that the type of gimmicks now eschewed as degrading were exactly what JCPenney's had been using on the shopping public. Let's be honest and give the customer credit for being intelligent enough to know when it's being given a bait and switch.
I've been with the company a little over a year now . I make my credit goal as well as sales goals every month. I've never missed a day of work and have only been late by 5 mins twices in my Penneys career . Before Mr. Johnson took over JCP , I felt like I count as a employee and felt loved @ Penneys . Lately i've only had 2 days a week to work for the last month and a half . I've seen a lot of good employees let go and we've been treated like crap by Mngt lately. My fellow workers as well as myself was told that if you made more an hour then you would receive less hours and they would work the least paid employees more then us ( such disappointing new )... I feel like in the process of becoming Americans favorite company then Mr. Johnson you should care more for your employees who helped in this process !
Instead of being upset with JCPenney for hiring Ellen as their spokesperson, I believe the public and its customers should be more concerned with the way they have treated their long standing and loyal associates with their recent restructuring of the company. If any of you could have access to the letter that most of these associates received, basically telling them that because of their age a time of service, they no longer "Fit In" with the vision of JCPenney.I and many others would really wonder why? The older folks are the ones that understand "customer service" and hard work, not the young selfish, self centered and spoiled young people of today, that wouldn't understand a hard days work if it slapped them upside the head. Ellen is a comedian doing a job she is hired to do, and paid to do so. What consideration was made for the associates that needed their paychecks for the job they did for a company they believed in for so many years????I hope you all will focus on the real issue at hand.
It is very sad that Mr. Johnson doesn't realize that here in the Northeastern part of Pa. that change is not well taken. The economy here is extremely poor. I do agree with some of his reasonings but not all. To take away the Customer Service Centers is horrible also. People need jobs here not taken away. The hours are so poor for some of these people. It used to be a fun busy store. Now there is hardly anyone in it. People here are outraged. It may work in larger cities but the smaller JCps will be history. People don't understand retail. Coupons always matter. Just through one out there on a weekend and see what happens. I would expect a big turnaround for JCP
Bought at JC Penney's while raising my boy's who are now in their 40's and later for myself. The clothing I am seeing today look to be for teenagers. They are too short and too glittery. Where are the nice suits and dresses with a modest hem length you once had. Have you forgotten about the older women and men who shop at your store and do not want bling and glitz. I doubt I will ever purchase from you again and I have had a very long relationship with Penney's.
My girlfriend has worked at JC Penney for over 5 years. Ever since Ron Johnson has took over, her hours and everyone elses have been cut by about 75%. They are trying to force their employees out the door. They are being treated very poorly. From what I understand all the workers are miserable. No respect at all. It is obvious that Ron Johnson does not care or appreciate his employees. Just another rich fat cat out to stick it to the poor working class so that he can maximize profits for himself and his shareholders. Yep another case of the 1% giving the middle finger to the 99%! Ellen, I hope you are reading this... unfortunetly as company spokesperson you are condoning this type of business behavior. It does not reflect well on your image. I will never shop at JC Penneys ever again!
I commend you for choosing Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson for JCPenney. And I strongly commend you for standing by her after the attacks from narrow-minded homophobes. I am an older white male, a veteran of the Vietnam War, and a resident of a small Southern town, who works in the defense industry. I strongly support Ellen as your spokesperson and I am all the more enthusiastic about being a loyal long term customer because of your steadfastness in support of diversity. In my mind, this defense of representatives of minority interests is truly in line with some of the concerns of our founding fathers and is representative of the examples of inclusiveness seen in the life of Christ. Thank you for not crumbling to the relentless onslaught of the right wing extremists who try to demonize anyone with a belief, an appearance or a lifestyle that varies from their definition of the norm.
To whom this may concern: Attached is a document that was mailed to several people within you organization on February 03,2012 , I have heard nothing from no one concerning this matter a little shocked to say the least. Numerous people have read this letter with no prior information from me about the circumstance surrounding the situation. They have all expressed to me that they believe that I was let go under false pretenses. A) People felt I was let go because of the incident of January 15, 2012 when I and another associate gave the "Loss Prevention" Managers daughter a hard time when there were several rules, integrity issues AND forgery that was done at that time. 1) Pam " Loss Prevention Manager" told all associates in the morning meeting that "ONLY" JCPenney associates were allowed to check out with the 50% discount coupon and you must have one to check out and get the discount. 2) She allowed her daughter to come back in the store at approximately 2:35 p.m. to use the discount card, she was question, wasn't sure if we should allow her to use it, then she had the "Loss Preventions" Manager's credit card and she wasn't even on the account, we asked for ID and she didn't even have one on her. 3) So you have to wonder if it took her 8 or 9 days to go back thru the safety video's to see if she could find something to get rid of me because of the way her daughter was treated. I could speculate that is what caused her to calling me a thief and not showing me the video that she said that proved that I was ( that was against my legal rights) and she was very nervous the whole time she was confronting me. So she can break rules and get away with it and I loose my job amazing how the higher up people always get away with breaking rules. B) If they thought anyone is stealing from the company they would not take 19 days to confront that person, I know for a fact that there always someone that room monitoring the camera's, I have seen them chase people through the store, when they watched them take had the to call the customer service desk when the customer had changed price tags. So for them to come up to me 19 days after an incident and say that I removed JCP assets that is pure speculation on their part because if the “Loss Prevention” Associate that was on duty that night thought something was wrong he would had stopped my husband on the way out the door. So it is pure “SPECULATION” that I took something that belong to JCP. There are always associates that came to the floor with bags that they had under the customer service centers where they worked. Were they charged with mishandling company assets or was mine actually for retaliation for the way that the “Loss Preventions” manager’s daughter was treated

I will give jc p a zero star to jcp at Boston post road,milford, CT .I got worst customer service in my life . When i talk to the employee, she say "my name is tina u can go ahead and file a complain about me." that is so rude. I am working with a food business. We never do this with our custmers. We taught custmer is god.When I complain to manager.he just say a single word " I appolozise" and by looking at my worst experience, that word wasn't enough. If I was a manager I would kick her out or at least give her a written warning. Because, being a manager of subway I know that 95% of unsatisfied customer don't complain. I am wasting my time cause I got worst experience in my life.

Mr Penney would be disgraced and heartbroken to learn the way his corporation's associate GE CREDIT treats JC Penney's customers. Because of their manipulating ways, harassment, and blatant practices of fraud playing with credit scores and credit information to find away to reduce the "available" credit so that the debt to available credit ratio is totally out of balance... 2-29-2012 I worked at the jcp in Arlington, TX at the parks.I was schudle to work from 6pm to 12pm. The manager said we can not get off at our set time. I told her i can not work that late,knowin i work in the moring, she said you might not have a job. So i walked out. i cant work that late i have another job that requies me to be at work at 8. I've never had any problems at work. Second eveytime i requested to be of or tried to chagne my hours i got deined. (WOW do they not know people have jobs and go to school and they want to keep tou there all night as if they dont give to 2cent about what you got to do.
Homosexuality is a choice! Life can not be created by 2 of the same sexes. It is not natural to be with the same sex. You do it because you choose to, whether from a young age or not. My authority in that it IS wrong is the Bible...what is everyone else's authority? Yourself? Your own opinion? Because they were "born" that way? God create us to multiply...How do gay people do that? Scientific study has NOT proven that homosexuality is an in-born or biologically determined characteristic. Scientific research has produced findings that might be interpreted as being consistent with the idea that some people may have something like a physiological predisposition to homosexuality. As with alcoholism or some forms of diabetes, there is some evidence that some people with some physiological characteristics are more likely to have homosexual desires and/or behaviors than others. If we all went by what we "felt" like doing emotionally or physically, this world would be very evil. There is a group out there called NAMBLA(look it up) who feels it is their right to be with young boys. They say it is not their fault "who they love". Sound familiar? What makes them wrong and Homosexuality right. I know there are drastic differences but my point is this: They feel that they have every right to love who they want. So, just because someone says it's right because of their own opinion, does it make it right??? My authority is God and God's Word...what is your authority? How are you coming to your conclusions of what is right and wrong? Is it just because you say so? God loves all people, it is the sin he rejects. We are all sinners but God forgives us because He love us and for that I am very thankful.
My name is Tiffany and I never been to the jcp salon before and I thought to give it a try. Boy was that a bad decision. I paid $60 for a cut and highlights. I wanted a trim to my a line bob and to refreshen my old highlights. So the lady did my hair and put in something called blending in the back. I have extremely thick hair and my routine is minimal at home. so I paid the money even though i.had some concerns. It looked great at the salon. I get home and wash and condition with my products and flat iron my hair and of course there were mistakes. I had a hole at the base of my head, my highlights werent improperly done and she cut it too short with her fancy blending technique. I was so mad she knew I had thick hair and still cut it too short. I called the manager who was friendly and asked me to return to fix it and I did return the following day. She fixed my issues with my haircut. She agreed that the stylist did cut my hair improperly. Well as for the highlights now I don't have any. I went from grown out highlights that we're Carmel to bleach blonde highlights to No highlights. Is there no happy medium? And to pay another salon 60 bucks to redo them. I will never go back to penmys ever. And I do agree about the prices I paid 17 dollars for a shirt. Nothings on sale its all full price. Horray for Ellen she's very funny who cares about her preferences.
What lead me here was my quest for a job. The commercials implied it was a modern, fresh, new rebuild for JCP, and there is one just down the road. Appears to be a nice place to work, BUT... 1. The website is formatted terribly, like it was a middle schooler's project: - Simple, very sparse graphics (plain rectangles) - One font. A san serif font is terrible especially for blocks of small text. - The product search pages are left justified; everything smashed to the left. Other pages, like this one, are also smashed to the left. - The far left column is only readable on Internet Explorer. I tested it on Firefox, Opera, Safari, iOS Safari with port results. - What's with the "Junior and Guys" category? "Guys" is just a confusing duplicate of "Mens" If you have a separate "Young Mens" (slimmer fit with teen styling) then make one. - ...tons more, but I don't have the time or inclination to be your free graphics designer/manager. I have never created such shoddy graphics work in my life, and to have it pass by numerous managers and graphics staff completely baffles me. Geez, if nothing else, steal ideas from your rival, Sears.com! 2. No email contact information. The user is forced to use a form, and I was unable to send screenshots of this and many other web design issues. Apparently, JCP's choice for hiring part-timers-only extends to the graphics department, too. 3. Here and on other sites, there is nothing but bad employee reviews. Not one glowing review. 4. Knowing there is only part-time work, the position for "Commission Sales" is downright frightening. First, what the heck [cleaned up] does JCP sell that would justify it? TVs? Cars? It is obviously just another ploy to get full-time staff at part-time rates. I'm living on Aldi hotdogs and water, and desperately looking for an employer (preferably gay-friendly) and I still would not consider applying for a job at the local JCP! The complaints prove what the website implies: JCP wasn't restructured or rebranded, just white-washed as cheaply as possible, trying to boost a little value for the investors before it is sold off. Terrible - terrible - website. Why 2 stars? It should get just 1, but they dropped the ".99" in the prices, so I added another start for being cute. But by all appearances, it is a 1 star company.
