I worked for JCPenny for over a year, i was #1 in our store for Charge Apps and I was Employee of the Month for July 2011. Unfortunally i was wrongly terminated, i came across hard times and wanted resigned from JCPenny, the supervisor of the convinced me too stay and that she was willing too work around the difficult times. So the resigning part she just did not accept, and left it stay in the computer. She knew i was going thew problems that i needed to resign from them i missed 2 days of work i was unable too call her and she called me a told me i was terminated. Sadly, once your terminated from JCPenny you can no longer ever apply to work at another JCPenny, i am really sad too say i was terminated from a job i tried too leave propertly. I loved my job at jcpenny and i took it seriously, i was a very good associate. I am not sure who i can talk too about this, but knowing that i can never work at another JCPenny again really bothers me.
"America's favorite company" is becoming America's worst company. As a customer for 25-plus years I do not like the new changes. Its confusing and I don't like the prices, and even though you'll find a bargain once in a while most of the items are more expensive. The layout is not great, and it seems to be targeting a younger crowd. How about all the older customers that have shopped there for many years as myself. I used to enjoy going there every week but the shopping experience is not the same. Also many of the prices are wrong and its hard to find clearance items. Many items have multiple tickets.Whats the right price? The racks are messy and its hard to tell who works there at first glance. Some serious changes need to take place or many people will stop shopping there. The stores need to also keep the brands I like. I used to buy American Living for my grandchildren, but recently I was told they are not going to carry the brand anymore. The employees don't seem happy and a couple of the supervisors are rude.
What is going on? To begin with this square deal thing...WHAT? Square for Whom? Why didn't JCP ask me the customer before making my former favorite store look like a flee market with pile of fair deal items, that I could have purchased in the past for much less. Furthermore, DEAL shopping is all about the HUNT! I miss the coupons, sale ads, and invitations to shop with a "free" $10 or $25 postcard. Consequently, what I squarely see in your new square deal store is a recipe for disaster. Well let me say this...I am "homesick" and I am going to follow the yellow brick road to my new home...KOHLs!!!
Jcp, is no fun anymore. I have shopped at jcpennys for more than 40 years. The biggest thing I dislike is jcpennys, has stopped caring the Gloria Vanderbilt, Amanda jeans. Amanda jeans fit perfect. And they had alot of different sizes, and Colors. Now they do not have Amanda jeans. Those Jean were the best, plus jcpennys had alot of Amanda jeans, if you wanted another color, or size, grab a different pair. I want those Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans back!!!!!!!! I don't think jcp. Cares w hat we think.,or what we want back in store. I hope jcp, read these emails.
I have worked for jcpenney for many years and after many years of service it is very sad to see how we are being treated. First of all, many changes were made and not for the best of the employees. Many people have lost benefits and not say hours. Many new people were hired during the holidays and the ones who have been there longer are getting the same amount of hours as the new employees. Management made us change our availability to "open" so that we could keep our jobs and then hours got cut. It is very hard to survive on 12 hours a week.(that's if your lucky with hours)They only schedule you when they need things to get done and even ask you to stay overtime and the following weeks ask you not to come in. I hope things begin to change. I used to love coming to work and now I can't wait to just go home, sadly they take advantage of us for that reason
I have shopped at jcpennys, for 40 years. I am not sure how long I well shop there now. I love Gloria Vanderbilts Amanda jeans, I love how they fit(perfect) . But now jcpennys, has stopped carring them! Before they had every size and color you would like. Not to many stores haveG V A jeans. I was very happy before, I knew when ever I wanted a new pair of Gloria Vanderbilt, Amanda jeansI could find them. Not anymore, penny's don't have them anymore. WHY! So many lady's worn them, you had a winner, with those jeans. And the Blunt on the butt looks nuts, I'm sorry, I not a teen. I did buy one pair, I took off, the Blunt. But, I need some new G V A jeans, where do I find them, not at jcp. There square deal is a joke, when they take away something I buy alot of. Please bring back Gloria Vanderbilt, Amanda, jeans. And listen to your customers, because without us, what do you have????????????jessie4009@gmail.com Jessie4009@gmail.com
Shame on Jcpenney for how they are treating their employees. They treat them like they're not important. Shame on all the new changes that have been made, and even though management pretends to know what they're doing all they do is read letters that come from their bosses and try to assure the employees that everything is fine. People who work there are unhappy and it's reflected on the customer service. They keep making changes and they even changed their dress code to a more casual one, like that is going to make a difference. Jcpenney wasn't bad place to work sure the pay wasn't great but the people were great. Oh I forgot they don't work there anymore. The company sent everyone on a "early retirement" even though many of these people were not ready to stop working. They just got to old for company standards and they were getting paid too much. What they want now is young people to reflect a new store, a reinvention of the store and also the people with no families willing to work anytime.
I am being harrased by the manager I have been written up , I.'m an excellent hair dresser, but, you have some old fasion hair dressers that can' t speak English, not educated, so I know they feel thretened by me , I know all the latest styles, can educate my customers, know how to speak English , and.Spanish, when I got there, the new ceo had just , started, love his concept, honesty is the best policy. So , because of this , other , hair dressers feel , thretened, so cause any little petty thing, like getting, customer , wet. Or, mat, not.straight, and , to many foils in my cabinet, they can' t anything so they make up some vicious lies, and the lust goes on and on.
@ Janie who are you Rushes helper? The man is a troll who doesn't deserve to 1. be on air 2.be able to spew hateful and disrespectful things about others while on air! Anyway, I'm getting off topic. I'm a current employee for J.C Penney's and when I first started the job I loved it! I got a lot of much needed hours and my employees and managers are wonderful to work with. Now, it's horrible. J.C Penney has cut my hours no barely anything and for a college student depending on this income, it's like a death sentence. The mangers only care about credit card applications and annoy you until you get one or two in one day!? I just want to quit so bad because this is not the same store I applied too! If I had Known that J.C Penney's was going to cut my hours like this (as I wasn't told this in the interview) I would have never applied here in the first place! Get it together please! or you'll be loosing more than just dedicated customers!
I work for jcpenny and they have a supervisor who treats employer unfair. That supervisor would call me in the office every week Juss to harass me or get me for pity things. I feel discrimination coming towards me. They also tell u to clean the 4 ways like slaves, wax it and I believing reading the discription of my job that was not part of it. they need to start treating their employer right and stop being races.
I have been shopping at penny's for many years, your clothes are terrible, i can do better at K-mart. the petite department is a laugh. being just 4foot 6inches, us little people relieded on you to be ther for us. I just this week braged on your petite dept. went ther today, I't practly gone, guess, i'll have to return to kohls, they arn't good either. i'm a senior and a little person. please make clothes for us.just can't tell you how dissapointed i am in you
JC Penney was my favorite store for the last 10 years - I used to spend over $2,000 a year, as I found everything I needed at the prices nobody else could beat. I think the new price strategy is a recipe for a disaster - the store will lose thousands of loyal customers, like myself due to elimination of clearance items and coupons, which made shopping so much fun. Their "shop best prices" slogans are nothing but a big scheme - every time you click on any of these "best price" items and try to add it to your bag, it says that the item is no longer available. I have tried this on dozens of "best price" items from different categories, on different days of the week, and could not buy a thing! Who in the world has the time to surf a totally useless website, which advertises merchandise which is impossible to buy! My last online order was at the end of December, 2011, just before their new "destructive innovation" went into effect, and I haven't purchased anything since then. In the meantime, Kohl's is advertising sales and coupons more than ever, and, guess what - that's where I took all my business. It's very sad to see that something that used to be so good and served so many people has been driven into the ground by a bunch of dumb executives. I have no doubt that this store is doomed and it's only a matter of time when we'll hear about them filing for bankruptcy...
Sorry customers of JCP, when you shop on the "Best Price" Fridays, you may find long checkout lines. We are at the store until early morning hours marking prices, but the hours for employees are so limited, the stores-especially the smaller ones-have mostly just supervisors working. This means long checkout lines and no customer service, since most managers and superviors just sit in the back offices. Pretty sad when most everyone in the store is looking for another job. Cant feed your family on 12 hours a week or less.
I am very interested to see how the turnaround will work. I worked for JCPenney for 3 years and enjoyed working there The presentation by Michael Kramer and Ron Johnson was intriguing. Thank you for inviting us in over the internet. Depending on the creativity and performance of your vendors to establish stores within JCPenney, setting retail apart from the norm. You were clear on the timing of this transformation.I look forward to seeing what the apparel industry comes up with . You have challenged us to consider what we do,how to approach service and partnership with you. I am very sure that James Cash Penney knew his store , customer and direction that would remain as important. He said something like, A merchant who is about serving the customer well has nothing to fear from the competition...Mr. Penney will always be the founder. He understood that he could not fulfill his vision without the assistance of his team and customer. Ask Earl Sams the president of JCP who's appreciation for Mr. Penney proved itself. 215million shares left for sale offer them to the customers as a public offering, with access to dividends yearly instead of creating loyalty through trapping the customer with high interest credit cards. The customer is not always right but serving the customer well will always prove right.Michael 2012
I was in your store in Abilene, TX recently. While I was there, I was looking for a water fountain. The woman at the customer service desk said that it was taken out. I am glad that Penney's don't even think that their customers deserve a drink of water. Wow! I have never been in a large retail store that didn't have a water fountain for the public, even if it was in an out of the way location. Now I know why I have only been in Penney's two times in the last four years.
It is hipocritical to pull your ads from RUSH and not from Bill Mayer(cable), or David Lettermen(CBS), and that crazy actor Alec Baldwin(Hollywood) who rallied a late night audience to their feet with the cry to kill a republican congressman and his family. SHAME ON YOU and SHAME ON THE MEDIA for the double standard. Rush may have used inappropriate words, but after 25 years on the air 5 days a week, three hours a day, who wouldn't screw-up once in awhile. Did you know Rush is deaf, he helps numerous charities and has helped advance the science and technology for those with disabilities to work and be productive. But do you give him any recognition for that work. You've loat my business until you demonstrate your compassion and charity towards all people.
The recent changes at JCPenney are disappointing. I am a Platinum cc customer and annually spend a great deal of money at your stores and online. The greatest upset for me is that you no longer carry Ultra Tall Women's pants and jeans. I have purchased almost all my pants and jeans from your store for around 30 years. I need at least a 36" inseam. I wrote to your online customer service representatives and asked if they were going to stop carrying them for good. In return I received a form letter saying if I didn't provide a product number they could not help me. I wrote back and explained that it was a size not a particular product, no answer, nothing. So poor customer service too. In my opinion there is no purpose in having online customer service if you do not read and respond to the question asked, form letters show me that you do not care about me as a customer. I feel that your new pricing policy, while it will save you money on advertising and signing, will drive down your business as it creates no urgency. Why go to the store today? It will be the same price next week or next month. I do like the Ellen commercials.
I can not believe that you have changed to the square deal thing. This takes all the fun out of shopping. I just was in need of a bedspread which I would usually buy from you. I went to the Saginaw Michigan store. All the bedspreads I looked at same price, blah blah blah. I left and went to Macy's and guess what I found a deal, 1/2 off all bedspreads. And yes I bought one there which cost me $10 less then the square deal at your store. I think your downfall started with that awful commercial with all the screaming and is ending with this stupid uninspired sales change. Someone there really needs to rethink this thing.
Your outsourcing of your credit dept to GE Credit crooks is appalling. They accepted my payment in Jan through my bill-pay which I have used for many years. In Feb they 'returned' my payment to my bank and then tacked a late fee and finance charge onto my account. I have sent them a 'real' paper check and as soon as it clears, I will close my Penney's account of 30+ years. BAD CORPORATE DECISION!!
In the beginning of the new JCPenney's retail strategy, associates were assured their jobs were not in jeopardy. Store managers knew all along that was a lie. They started to cut hours and went further to scheduling associates one or two days a week. Then finally terminating associates who were approaching vestment (3 years: affecting pension payouts)in the company, going for new recruits and hiring only part-time. Those associates who gave their all in the Manhattan Mall were dealt a dirty hand because this new CEO Ron Johnson wants to make his mark. The stores are empty now since this new pricing strategy. Well good riddance, I say. There's better places to work.
