I am very saddened in the loss of all LOYAL JC Penneys employees. They have gave their best and been slapped in the face. The store displays are not inviting at all. The entire store is a mess no one to wait on you. What are you doing Ron Johnson. You are cutting everyones income but you still make millons and also include your friends to make millons while cutting income for the small income employees. BEST REMEMBER WHAT GOES AROUND COMES BACK AROUND TO YOU. PLEASE STOCK INVESTERS DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY FAIL GET RID OF CEO.

It saddens me to give a One Star rating to one of my favorite stores, but I am sad. Today was Mother's Day, and I relaxed with some catalogs, including the JCP May catalog. I was dismayed to see that you featured a lesbian couple as a Mother's Day feature. As a person who still believes that marriage is designed to be one man and one woman, no matter what the president or culture might say, I was discouraged to see a store that I felt upheld traditional values fall prey to the modern, social agenda.

Recently, I received your May catalog. It is the one with the Mother’s Day theme and the “things my mother gave me.” I have to tell you that I was very disappointed to see a lesbian couple included as part of the normal mother/daughter relationship. There are many other mother/ daughter combos you could have used such as a Black or Hispanic mom and daughters, a handicapped mom and daughters, a mom surviving cancer, etc. I am sure you are trying to communicate a message to society that a lesbian couple and their family are normal but they are not. I realize that the gay community would like society to accept and believe that homosexuality is normal and that we should accept and endorse it but it is not normal nor is it right. Ellen DeGeneres may be your spokes person but her lifestyle is not right. Our President would like us to believe that it is right as well but it is not. He does not set the standard, God does. At this point you will probably start to roll your eyes but I have to tell you that the Bible says that homosexuality is wrong. In the New Testament in the book of Romans, chapter 1, verses 24-28, the Bible talks about how people have exchanged the truth of God for a lie and that God gave them over to degrading passions. Men and women abandon the natural function and committed indecent acts, men with men and women with women. The Bible goes on to say that those who do these things and give hearty approval are worthy of death. That sounds pretty serious to me.

I have loved shopping at JC Penney for many years and have purchased alot of merchandise from them. Since this new change I haven't purchased anything because I haven't found anything that I like in their store. I agree that they are catering to the younger generation these days. The ads are terrible and the prices are not as good as they used to be and the quality of the merchandise has gone downhill. I don't agree with who they picked to represent their company either because I don't believe a store that sells childrens clothing should push this lifestyle on a family. I suggest that this company go back to the old values that it started with.

SHAME ON JCP FOR BUCKLING UNDER TO "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS". I SEE WHERE JCP REPORTS THAT THEIR SALES HAVE ACTUALLY RISEN SINCE ONE MILLION MOMS CAME OUT AGAINST JCP GLORIFYING GAYS BY DISPLAYING THEM IN ONE OF THE ADS. LOOKS TO ME LIKE (AFTER READING SOME OF THESE REVIEWS), THE OPPOSITE IS TRUE. I, TOO, AM FINISHED WITH JCP.

Your new advertising execs need to be fired. The idea to come out with a so called "magazine" to replace a sale add is just stupidity. The only thing you accomplished is losing my business. Your stores have come to carry less and less merchandise and the clothing line for women has gotten terrible.... Teens and 20 year old girls are not the only females that shop in your store.... I don't know who your byers are, but I can say that they, along with your execs, should be fired. I am totally disappointed with your tactics and have no desire to shop in your store any longer....believe me, I am not the only person who feels this way.

We purchased a living room set in Feb. 2011 and had nothing but trouble with it. In April 2012, the set was picked up and we were told that we would receive a refund withing 72 hours. We waited for several days and then started calling to inquire where our refund was. We were told it was electronically transmitted to our bank. When sevearl more days passed, we contacted our bank and found the refund was not there. After seveal more calls to JC Penneys we were told that the refund was not accepted by our bank and a "hard check" for the refund was sent to us from Salt Lake City, Utah. After two more weeks without a refund we started calling JC Penneys again. We were told that the refund was sent to the bank and we explained that we were told the refund was sent in the form of a check to us, which it evidentally was not. Now we are told that the check was comming out of Texas, however we have been told so many different things we do not know who to believe. All we are trying to do is get a refund on furnitre which was defective. I cannot believe how much trouble and how many hours we have spent on the phone trying to resolve this matter. I will never shop at JC Penneys aging and will tell everyone what kind of problemw we have encountered. This is not like brain surgery or building a rocket to Mars. Simply trying to get a refund. $2,500 may not seem like a lot of money to JC Penneys but it is sure a lot of money to us.

I just watched the NBC news story with Brian Williams that said JC Penney will be featuring homosexual & lesbian couples in their catalogs. Due to this poor marketing decision, I have closed my JCP credit card account and will no longer shop in your stores. You have chosen to listen to the loud voices of a VERY SMALL percentage of the population who do not represent traditional families and values. Therefore, I hope you hear from many heterosexual couples who will make their voices heard by negatively impacting your sales numbers!

this big change-fair and square-for who????!!!!!some of the brown noseing managers that got got left on,thats who. i to employee for 7+ yrs. gave my all to this company, missing family events because i wanted to show them how loyal and dedicated i was to this co.And for that i get a whole 3 daz a month schedualed? Believe me if i could put ur rating any lower (-50)i would!!!!!THEY REALLY NEED TO TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT WHAT REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE, INSTEAD OF TRYING TO BE LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am currently employed at a JCP store and I am feeling the disrespect from this company. I have also worked at Macy's in the past and even though the hours for Macy's employees were terrible at times too at least I could see the future ahead of me and had some type of control. Last week most of the managers were laid off out of nowhere and they have cut our hours down to one 4 hour shift a week if were lucky for part timers. I see a dismissal in my future (probably in the next 3 weeks) and I was recently hired to our store along with 20 others that were hired in the past year. Why did they hire so many when they planned on firing them a couple of months later? Full-time employees are getting part time hours and part-time employees are getting little to no hours. Many of my coworkers say they cannot feed their kids and pay the bills with their jobs with JCP. Many of them happen also to be single mothers. I've seen employees that have put in over 28 years of service being laid off. One employee was laid off just before her retirement with the company. How in the world is this legal? Someone puts their heart and soul into a company and then at a very old age they decide to let you go without benefits of retirement which was only a couple of weeks away? Extremely offensive. The CEO has messed up priorities and when it comes down to it the employee is merely a toy to be played with and then discarded. As for the advertising I agree with the many that have commented that I don't believe it to be effective. Also, whenever a customer approaches me to do a search for an item I know already in my head that there is a 65% chance that we don't have it for them. I hate to constantly look like a bad employee because JCP never has enough stock of its products. How are we suppose to have pride in our work and with helping customers when we can't really satisfy the customer? At Macy's I felt very good about myself as a sales person because for the most part I knew I could find what they were looking for. I support GLBT lifestyles so I have to disagree with the people that commented that having a mother duo in the Mother's Day ad was inappropriate. There are many people in this country that are still unable to accept that our society doesn't merely consist of mostly nuclear families. I honestly feel like we should be focusing on the job losses and the quality and price of products over the GLBT spokesperson/ads component because at the end of the day its about the people that shop and work at JCP and I think those points of discussion are much more important to address.

So jcp no longer pays commission to its hairstylists, Mr Johnson understands nothing about the hair industry. The very people who's experience is responsiable for the buisness that the salons do are now in question. Mr Johnson did you really think this out or do you just look at the bottom line? This is how the beauty industry works, you get what you pay for, 7.65 for a new stylist is exactly what you are hiring and forcing out all the talent. You will only realize your mistake after you kill all the salon buisness. Get someone who is well versed in this industry and ask them before you shoot yourself in the foot and loose all the talent you have in your salons

JCP is doing a good job on their tv commercials....very appealing and they do make people want to go in and check it out, unfortunate what is not appealing is that so many people have lost their jobs. They first gave early retirement packages to their soon to be senior citizens and as people relaxed a little they went on and let many of them go...But it was "fair and square" because not only did regular employees lose their jobs but also managers and supervisors. Now stores are more likely to be looking for potential candidates who want to be part of the new era of leaders and specialist of JCP.

Jcpenny is on an all out attack to get rid of all their longtime employees, Managers claim they are not hiring but today a new ad piped up. The salon employees were always paid commission and that has now changed. It is my view that Ron Johnson is not good for JCPenneys. While he lines his pockets with a large salary, he cuts jobs, salaries, and benefits of the very people that helped build penneys buisness. To destroy someones livelyhood without any regard for them is wrong. Ron Johnson needs to go, since he has taken over he has lost money for jcpenney and he is making the employees pay for it, let him go into his pocket and pay for the damage he has done.

I am so happy that so many people feel the way I do. Please go back to flyers and incentive coupons. Your 'everyday ' prices are the normal prices. No sales there!!!! I haven't shopped in your store since Christmas. I, too, am looking forward to the Macy's sales. Also, I hate to say it, Kohl's........ If you don't give your consumers what THEY WANT, you WILL go out of business. Sears went downhill when they merged with K-Mart and that's the quality they have. You are headed in that direction. I had to give you 1 star because there wasn't anything lower. Too bad; so sad.

I READ that the CEO from JCP "earned" 56.000.000.- / Fiftysix-Millions Dollars in 1 Year which is more then 1 Million Dollars EACH WEEK! I HEARD that most of the employees work for $8.-/hour and a small commission. I KNOW that JCP took them now the commission! What's a nasty use of employees they work their ball off for this shabbily company. I GUESS JCP will close their doors pretty soon, after the CEO and some so called "Managers" have taken some more Millions.

I just want to say I am calling out mr. Ronald B Johnson man to man and IF he is man enough tell me to my face as to why his new direction involves laying off employees and cutting the pay of the stylists in the salon by a THIRD!!! Ronald B Johnson step on up boy!

I recently wrote your company the following message: I am so sorry to see your anti-family ad. By destroying the family, you are aiding in the destruction of this country. The family is the backbone of America. You have lost my business as a customer. Here is the answer I received: As a company founded on “The Golden Rule” we consider it our top priority to treat everyone Fair and Square. Thank you for sharing your feedback. Chris. Customer Care Representative Corporate Customer Care My response: Dear Chris: I am amazed at your lack of professionalism and your reply that shows a lack of knowledge of the "Golden Rule" while ignoring the real issue. The Golden Rule states "One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself;" you state that it is treating everyone "Fair and Square." Is promoting lesbianism and an anti-family approach treating everyone "fair and square"? I really do not see the correlation. Why not use a rapist or a prostitute in your advertisement so that everyone is treated "fair and square"? Using your company and advertisements to push an agenda that is destructive to the foundation of this country--the family--is wrong. I do not hate lesbians--they certainly have the right to choose whatever lifestyle they want. However, I also have the freedom to choose who I will do business with, and it will not be a company that promotes something that is against America. Sincerely, Tracy Blanton Ronald Reagan: “The family has always been the cornerstone of American society. Our families nurture, preserve, and pass on to each succeeding generation the values we share and cherish, values that are the foundation of our freedoms.”

Last week was so very sad... so many hard working people lost their jobs.. now the store is under staffed. Hours are being cut... pay is being cut... everyone is afraid they might be next to be let go. The dress code for the associates needs to improve.... people should know who works for JCP... need more people working the floor. The salon needs a make over. Our team works hard and we should be rewarded.. We are cosmetologists.. we are artists... we like working on com. The harder we work... the more money we make.

I do not adapt to change well. Once the changes starting taking place, I thought this isn't too bad...boy was I wrong. Three months later...employees have been fired and part-time employees hours are non-existent. These are good, hard-working and loyal people. Full-time employees are scheduled 32-34 hours a week and some even less. Due to the way they are scheduling, some full-time employees are forced to take a lesser insurance plan because of the amount of hours worked. The store is like a ghost town. Customers are not happy with the service that they are getting. There just isn't enough people scheduled to deliver the "good" customer service Penney's is expecting us to deliver. The supervisors are nasty, unprofessional and do not know how to talk to or treat employees. It's really a shame that "Jcp" as the new CEO wants to call the company, seems to be going down the drain. Gone is the "family oriented" shopping experience.

Well, I guess you don't really want the loyal 38 year customers any more. Your store looks like a warehouse with no warmth at all. What a waste of money your catalogs are - along with your television ads.. They tell us nothing! Now I read your goal is to be hip and cool?? For whom? I used to let our children and grandchildren go through your previous catalogs and pick out items they would like but now we can no longer allow this due to your marketing choices which are anti-traditional family. I hope you enjoy your new hip and cool customers because I am returning my J.C. Penney credit card and will never buy from your store again. Sad ending to a wonderful long term relationship between store and customer... I had no idea that you were changing the policies for your employees and cutting their hours.. There is nothing good about your New Direction.
