JC Penny seems to be losing touch with the consumer. Their TV commercials are awful for the most part advertising their change-we now mute or change the station when they come on. They sound like we are the "dumb" ones when it's their marketing department & it's beginning to look like it's turning on them. I have been in JC Penny ONCE since their big change & I don't see the big deal. So, they can keep their change.

I ordered a recliner, after 3 months of waiting, jc penny EMAILED me to let me know the order was being cancelled. called customer service and they could care less that I was going to take my business elseware I will not shop there anymore

Well, looks the market has reinforced everthing customers on this board have said. JC Penny dropped almost 20 per cent after results came in for the previous quarter. This CEO is a disaster. People like sales. Sometimes you buy a something because you need it and the price is good. Other times you are browsing and deals are inticing. This guy just destroyed one of the few stores this 34 year old guy would shop at without getting a headache in the mall.
Years of shopping always fun!! Now SUCKS!! Never Again!!!!!!!!! MY God have you lost your mind!! Another store goes down......the drain......
There should be a Zero Star Rating. It is so sad to see how far JCP has fallen. It used to be a business based on True moral and ethical values. They now are more interested in PROMOTING a DESTRUCTIVE lifestyle than continuing to provide service to the majority of their faithful customers. They have bitten the hand that feeds them. We have destroyed our JCP card requested to be removed from their propagandizing catalog blitz etc. and will not darken their doorway until they see light on their present darkness.

Glad to see this blog. I sent a letter to customer service via email a few weeks ago. They responsed with a generic letter with generic lines written to me. This I didnt appreciate. I wrote because I'm a JC Penny girl for the last 25 years and prefer to shop no where else. but times are changing. The new changes dont like them. With retailers like Kmart and Sears not doing as well it would seem that this niche would appeal to JC Penny. We are middle class hardworking people. JC Penny used to be the brand that we saw as quality and something that we could afford. A quality better that Walmart. If I can gave any ideas to help please ask. thanks
I too was an employee at Penneys, and gave them my all, worked all the hours they needed me to, never late and then the bomb. No scheduled hours and when I asked three different managers, including the GM, I c0uld not get a straight answer as to whether or not I had a job. So wee4kly I would check the schedule and then I get the letter, the one saying if I didn't work in 30 days I would be terminated. They made it sound like I didn't want to work, when in fact they were not giving me hours. Now I talk to people that go there to shop and they say there is no customer service, no available registers and they all hate it Penneys wants theiir employees to invite the customers to tell their family and friends about the store, huge mistake, because from what I can see customers would not be telling them anything nice. Way to go Mr. new CEO----you just destroyed a 100 yr. old store that was doing great until you came along.
i AGREE with everyone above - What the heck happned to Jc Penny. I look back at the tops i got 4 years ago - good quality material - style and i am 55. I would walk into JC Pennys and ALWAYS find something. NOW i tell my family and friends DONT waste your time shopping in their its like Kmart quality clothes. No Selection !! horrible sizes - they got rid of allot of labels. The change was not good I want to old Pennys back OR they may be closing up and merging. I love the common genes and they dont have a selection when i contacted customer service they said they are not ordering back orders anymore what is out is out she said. employees are in a fog and dont care. I went to Macy's and say better quality - id rather pay more for quality' than the awful clothes they sell at JCPenny. This new culture is very bad. they lost me as a customer!!!
The security manager at my store was sexually harassing me. And when I told him to f- off, he took it to a whole other level and went above our store manager's head to have me fired. Since then, I've heard from a couple people he has been promoted. I hear a law suit calling my name.
As a Christian, I was appalled to see the Mother's Day ad depicting homosexual partners with their children. This topic is being shoved down our throats, and Christians are losing their voice. I am taking a stand by spending my money elsewhere! No thanks J.C. Penney!
I started working at jcpenney at 16 it was my first job and i am still here nine years later. Since atarting i have started a family of three and although money has always been tight i have been able to make it. Now my pay had been reduced hours cut in half! I have no idea what to do. Ron johnsons motto is fair and square he ought to live up to it.

JcPenney has really went downhill after Ron Johnson came aboard! So many people have lost their jobs and blindsided them while doing it. I hate shopping and regularly shop for men's clothes at either JCP or Target just twice a year. Recently the selection and quality at JCP is outstanding and much better than at Target. A wide variety of shoes with all sizes in stock, hard to find end-on-end dress shirts, short pants even before the summer begins, and plenty of basics too. I was surprised to find a gazebo for half the price that HomeDepot oiffered and bought it on the spot. The best thing is the new policy of lowering prices without gimmicks,coupons and sales. In Albuquerque the staff is friendly and treat customers well. A thankful card holder since 1974 Keep it up.

My dad worked over 40 years with JCPenneys ... we have pictures of my dad and JamesCashPenneys and when I read the article on WND about a same sex couple in the Penneys Catalog, I could feel James Cash Penneys rolling over in his grave! I will NO LONGER SHOP AT PENNEYS and I also used to work for Penneys and I will spread this info all over this country via emails, craigslist, etc. JCPenneys used to be a company that was known for " families " ...a company that was respected. Well, NO MORE, after this same sex couple SHAME ON YOU! SHAME for SHAME
I am appalled at a number of issues with JC Penney. Ellen DeGeneres is their celebrity spokesperson. She does not embody the typical JC Penney shopper. Her lifestyle is immoral. The way JC Penney treats its employees. Disgusting. What goes around comes around.
