Since Mr. Ken Hannah has started as CFO of J.C. Penney the store has declined. I no longer find the advertising or setup of the store attractive. It has become very sparse and clothing is higher priced but of lesser quality. I have been a customer for many years and no longer receive coupons in the mail. The clearance items are gone and I've noticed less employees in the store. J.C. Penney is beginning to look like Sears and we know what has happened to them! I almost expect to hear the announcements over the intercom in a different language. Poor quality, higher than average prices and less of a store. I don't know what Mr. Hannah is thinking but if there isn't a change J.C. Penney will cease to exist. I haven't bought anything in the store for quite a while and I used to shop at least twice a week, very sad. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I used to love jcpenneys. the sales, the merchandise,the people.Since the new changes I no longer shop there. The last straw was when I went in to find my favorite people gone. I have shopped there for twenty years and these people had worked there that long. What a SHAME that this NEW JCP has no respect for it's long time employees who were the backbone and heart of so many of it's stores. Woord was they were tossed out like used tissue paper. SHAMEFUL. i DON'T CARE ABOUT GAY ISSUES OR IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE COLOR EVERY MONTH( how many jobs would that pay for if you didn't) IT all just sucks. I will not be back

Ive been with the company for two years and its changed alot. They took away the lingerie quad,home quad,only one person in lingerie and one in kids. Customers are lost and confused.Techically i have to stay in my area because of theft,i have to greet all my customers but if possible, i do ring them out. they dont understand the changes,they are upset and i dont understand either. We have to work extra hard to get the job done. Now they are laying off respectable people in catalog who been there a long time. Catalog was close to my kids department so i could tell them to ring out there,if i was with another customer but now with barely one person back there(who is fake and doesn't do customer is first)Now i have to tell them when im busy with other customers,etc to go to misses and jrs which is far away for them. Most of them are the elderly and dont like change to begin with I could handle the prices changes, the cut backs but why unreasonable layoffs,double standards. I am a hard worker and sadly, my family are ill. I doubt they will work with me but i am trying to hold on this rough patch because before ron johnson, i loved to work for this company. ATTENTION CUSTOMERS: DO THE SURVEY,BUY SOMETHING CHEAP EACH WEEK AND DO OUR SURVEY. SPEAK OUT,BE TRUTHFUL AND LET THEM KNOW. MORE SURVEYS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY NEED TO TELL THIS CEO THAT YOU ARENT HAPPY,AND THAT WE THE EMPLOYEES ARENT HAPPY.BUT YOUR OUR FIRST PRIORITY,MAKE A STAND SO THEY CAN SEE YOU MEAN BUSINESS.

please take note~ no one is perfect, just realize JC Penney is trying to reach all ages and all people, if you noticed they also had a famiy that consiste of two aunts, mom grandma and a beautiful child with Down Syndrome, bravo JCP please continue to reach all people without any discrimination of any type

IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING....IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE CLOTHING...GET MORE INFORMED PESONS ON THE SALES FLOOR.. J C Penney has shown me no reason to continue to shop at their stores or from their catalog. I placed an order for children's gym shoes. After a week of waiting I called and was told they were damaged and I would receive a new order this Thursday. Well, Thursday came and went and I called today and was told the truck didn't come in last week and they were not on the truck this week. Now they are telling me Tuesday. I don't need to spend my money at a place that can't give me a correct explanation. I don't like the monthly ads that are being sent out. I'm sure it would be just as inexpensive to send catalogs as before. Ron Johnson certainly hasn't done a good job with Penney's. I've talked with friends and family and they feel the same way.

I've been a loyal JCPenney customer for many years and have been very disappointed with the direction that the company has taken. The new commercials and catalogs are a complete waste of money. I used to be able to shop there and find great deals. However, on my last two trips to JCPenneys, not only was the store like a ghost town; there were no great prices. My husband and I ended up making our purchases in two other stores. The new CEO needs to realize that customers want good prices; and that people really enjoy good sales. I used to look forward to the sales flyers, however, the new magazine format catalogs that come are so boring, I don't even bother to flip through them. Additionally, I like to make my own informed choices regarding social issues and I do not like the the fact that he is using his position to push his personal "PC" agenda. I was very saddened to read about the many loyal employees that were laid off. I have expressed my opinion with the new direction the company is taking by cancelling my account.

I worked parttime for JCP for almost 11 years and loved it and was a good worker. I plan on retiring from my fulltime job in another year or so and was my hope to continue to work at Penney's after I retired. Well, myself, like so many others was dismissed the other day. I clocked in, store manager called me into his office, read a pre-written statement about elimination of the service corridor, and was told to leave. At least I have a full time job but how sad I am for all the others who lost their jobs and were wrongly dismissed. One department manager was dismissed and her job given to another employee who was on the "chopping block" but a favorite of the store manager. Another manager who was not dismissed with very little senority was also a favorite of the store manager. I really enjoyed working there but in the last year or so I was like so many others, could not wait for my shift to end and go home. More and more was put on you with no thanks-we were all taken advantage of. I will never, my friends and family as well, shop at a JCP again. There is total lack of respect by JCP for their employees. The harder you worked, less hours you got. Hours were given to the newer employees. I was very ill on Black Friday and due to fear of being fired (as stated by store manager previously) I came in at 3am and worked until 1pm. I barely remember driving home because I was so sick. Would you believe the manager tried to change my evaluation regarding absence to a poor rating because I missed a week of work (had two doctor excuses and even made copies of prescriptions I was given). My heart goes out to all former JCP employees.

Had to comment about your new catalog....love it ,love it!!!! Love how you show the colors and the clothes together,love the catchy little phrases... and especially love the square deal pricing! One more thing as to this latest flap over lesbians in the Mothers Day issue..first who cares and secondly all I see are Moms and Grandmas!!! Go Forward..JC Penny,but you need more associates at the registers!!!

I have been a loyal JC Penney customer for many years. I have an account with them. When I pay the balance this month, that will be the last money they get from me. I hate the new pricing. I love sales and coupons! I have a live and let live philosophy of life. I don't shove my view down anyone's throat and I don't appreciate it when someone tries to shove their view down mine. The last sale ad I received with the lesbians was the last straw. I will no longer pratronize your store. Your CEO has ruined what used to be a great place to shop.

I have always loved shopping at your store. My family and friends have all shopped there and my Mom and I have an account with you. The other day the Mothers Day edition arrived in the mail and when I opened and turned to the middle my stomach turned .....There smack dab in the middle wasa mother and her partner. I do not appreciate you shoving this dowm my throat. It is so sad to see what this company has become. In the future I will be shopping where the family morals are valued. Also was wondering why your mothers day did not have any sons? I am a mother of three awesome little boys and they are just as important as daughters!

I worked 5 years at JCPenney until on Monday the store manager called me and let me know I was fired because my position was no longer available. He was rude and stupid. This people, they don't have feelings, they kick you like an animal. They don't care how many things you sacrified like your kids and your health. I never called in sick, never late. Thanks for nothing. They use you when they want to, but when your not worthless, they kick your butt. I'm so sorry for you Ron Johnson, NOTHING LAST FOREVER... I hope to see you without nothing very soon. JCPenney has the WORST CEO ever. JCPenney is going to bankrupcy very soon................

I live about five miles from a mall where a JC Penney store is located. Not on a regular basis DID I visit the store but from time to time I would go in and look at clothes (and buy them) mainly for my two children. My family (me, my husband, my son, and my daughter) were gone on a vacation last week and while we were gone the current catalog came in the mail. I had not had time to look at the catalog myself and just piled it up with the mail I would sort through later. I am also a home care nurse and while visiting a patient this week, I noticed the catalog laying on a chair in her home. This prompted me to ask her if she liked the "new" JC Penney? Instead of answering yes or no, she simply picked up the catalog and replied, "let me just show you this!" She immediately flipped to the page where the "partners" were pictured with one of the women's mom and two of "their" daughters. I was sickened. It is one thing for individuals to make these decisions personally but it is another for a huge company and at one time, respected business,to take an open approach and publish it in a catalog that goes to millions of homes. Let me just simply say, this was one wrong move for me - and enough to make me determine with no hesitation to NOT SHOP AT JCPENNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a Christain, I have morals, and when I know that a business openly supports this lifestyle I will NOT support them in any form or fashion. I would also just like to take this opportunity to thank the other people on this forum that have taken the time to state their frustrations and concerns regarding this same thing. Together, we can make a difference by speaking up and taking a stand on our beliefs regarding how receiving this particular catalog in the mail made us feel~!

I have worked for JCP for over 10 years. I used to really enjoy my job; it was like another family. But now I feel JCP has absolutely no regard for the employees - hours have been drastically reduced and positions eliminated. Thankfully I have another job, but it is so hard to see my coworkers suffer who really rely on this job. Customer service no longer exists; we are so short staffed it is impossible to truly assist the customer. I hope JCP changes direction before it is too late.

I liked JC Penney when they sold ITEMS and not an agenda. I will no longer be shopping there.

I am happy to read these comments as I often feel I am the sole person with my thoughts about this recent advertisement from JC Penney, which came to our home. I have been shopping at JC Penney's for many years. Sears and JC Penney were the family stores. We all clothed our growing children from there. My grandchildren will not be clothed with their merchandise. I am returning my card and I will ask not to receive these "pc" ads (for lack of a better word) to my home. I would recommend that this company sell good merchandise at the best price to all customers and stop this new direction. Several years back I contacted JC Penney about an advertisement of a very young, scantily clad girl with a very "come hither" look. I received no response. In fact that has become worse. We do not want our young girls to look nor act like loose tramps. It has just gotten worse. So long, Penney's.

I have shopped at JC Penny for many, many years. I want to say that I understand the need for change but the changes you have made do not jive with what I need. Once overflowing with stock the stock is now very limited. The clothing that you now sell is UGLY and CHEAP. I cant even find anything to where there anymore. Very low selection in size and availability (very limited) not to mention the look of some of this stuff. Who is wearing this stuff??? I will have to now look for another place to purchase clothing etc. as I just cant find anything there anymore. Too bad, another long time name probably going down the drain.

I also have to say after reading here of your treatment of your employees that it is another reason - aside from the ones I previously stated in email before this one - to look for a new place to shop.
