I'ved shopped at penneys for 40 years and I'm through. since the new changes. The terrible music. now the x rated t shirts at the front door. Now you can't walk in as a family becuse of the flithy tshirt at at the front door. Ehen asked to speak to a manager they said they didn't have one. I fined that had to believe. I am passing these pictures on to other mother so they won't go in your store in Chino Hills Ca. Some of your new ads are also offensive to the Christian community. I guess you don't want are business.
IT IS HORRIBLE WHAT THE NEW CEO HAS DONE TO J C PENNEY STORES THE OLDER DEDICATED PEOPLE LET GO AND OTHERS HRS CUT .STYLIST COMMISSION STOPPED AND PRODUCTIVITY SO SO HIGH IF THEY DON'T MAKE IT THEY ARE DEMOTED WHAT IS FAIR ABOUT THAT , RON HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO ALL THE FAMILIES OUT THERE
I always liked to go to Penny's to buy a certain style of Easy Spirit brand shoes that I have not found at any other store in town. Now Penny's does not carry them any more. Also, women were born to shop and look for bargains. Your store is set up mostly for men. (no sales, bargains, etc). Men are the ones who just want to get in and out of the store quickly. Good luck with men only customers. Also,I don't know who they hired to do purchasing, but I am not too crazy about the styles they have in stock. Also, the weekly adds in the newspaper here look expensive, but just don't appeal to me and you have to go all the way to the last page to even find the name j. c. Penny.
Was just in the local JCP in Dover, DE. Was not impressed. I used to like going in there years ago when they owned Eckerds, but years down the road I have not bought anything from this store. And as of 5-25-2012 i'll never go back in the store. I did see something I thought was cool, was a toaster oven with a built in coffee maker and a griddle on top, bu the one on diplay felt and looked really cheep and not worth the price that was on it.
I have been a customer of JC Penny for years but no longer. I have torn my JC Pennt charge card up and will never enter the store again. what was once a nice and family center for shopping is now a bold supporter of homosexuals and it seems you are very proud of it and could care less what your loyal custemers think or feel. well, you have proven where you actually stand, so may they keep your business going, I sure will not. It seems you would at least remain nutural on this issue for business sake. Now, it is obveious you could care less about what is morally right or worng. It is your business, so doa s you wish but for me, I am no longer a customer of yours. Jimmy Young
Update!!! I was hired on full-time with the BIGGEST retailer in the same mall! When I put in my resignation at Penney's, my answer to the question "Why are you resigning" It will be "I was told to do what I have to do!" I love the way you LIE, Mr. Ron Johnson!!! Lata JCP!! I will Always love Ellen, though!! I will write her after my departure and let her know that the JCPenney she worked or years ago is no longer the same company! Mr. Ron Johnson, take your "Newly reinvented" Golden Rule and shove it!!!" I am sure sure there are many that would like to reinvent a foot up.... (And I got 2 credit apps on the floor today while doing my job!!) Just sayin!!!
I was deeply saddened to hear about the decisions of the new president of JC Penney. Evidently, saving money doesn't go along with good customer service. Upon going in a local Penneys in Columbus, Ohio, I was told that the credit department no longer exists and in the near future Penneys is moving toward self check-out. No more help when trying on men's suits or searching for an item one may want. Since the corporate officers at JC Penney's choose to treat their customers like robots I will no longer be shopping there and will be advising my friends and family to do the same. It is indeed a sad time for a company which was founded on good customer service and family values!! There are many other good merchants, like Macys, who are continuing to offer and emphasize customer service.
I worked for that store for 7 years and was laid off because my position was eliminated. In one year they fired (let go) seven supervisors. Four in one day! They let go of good hardworking loyal employees and force the few remaining to do triple the workload without increasing their pay. Customers were always frustrated with us for the lack of help without understanding how truly overwhelmed the few employees working there were. They scrap by with the absolute least amount of staff they can and expect someone making minimum wage or barely above to carry a workload that should be shared by two or three times the staff. Golden rule my behind. Treat others as you would want to be treated - the CEO is treating his customers and employees badly. Is that following the golden rule?
Ron Johnson, Pushing your Ellen ad was disheartening. I do believe the Founder was a man of God. I bet he is turning over in the grave over your Golden rule garbage. To hear of your income, while bankrupting the Co is right in line with the rest of the- Take what you can hell with the outcome mentality in the world today! My wish is that YOU never feel inner peace, while pushing standards that are not in the best interest of People with families. You are obviously Confused! What is done in darkness will be brought to the light- reap it.
With all the media hoopla and commentaries over JCPenney's dismal first quarter results and plummeting stock prices last week, you would think there would also be some mention of this sneaky company-wide MASS lay-off that ocurred on April 30Th. Nationwide, JCPenney MUST have laid off approx. 6000 to 7000 outstanding, talented people with long histories of dedicated hard work, proven successful performance and irreplaceable experience (including me - over 30 years management). It's no secret that they targeted older employees with higher wages, close to retirement. They brought in candidates from outside the company with less experience and less pay. The remaining in-store teams had their pay reduced and have unrealistic and overloaded job functions...so, customer service, productivity and employee morale are suffering, and will continue to deteriorate. The business strategy of running your business 'lean and mean' is great, except when you start running your employees into the ground. This used to be a company of solid core values, where PEOPLE were JCPenney's greatest assets and resource. EVERYONE now realizes that this has become a company of disposable employees. There is no job security; except for the small elite team coming from outside the company that CEO Ron Johnson surrounds himself with at corportate level - especially former co-workers from Apple. This year will be a wild ride for those of you left, with the possible outcome, sadly, being failure.
No commission and now instead of 35 hours i get twenty anybody got a clue whats going to happen next o would love to know.
I have been shopping JCPenney regularly for 40 years. The new "Fair and Square" is fine, but what bothers me is that one of my favorites -- Cabin Creek has been phased out. Ok, I can find something else, but nothing else has been offered. Also, I do a lot of online shopping. Most everything I have chosen lately has been "currently out of stock". Some things will be out of stock from time to time, but too many things are continually "out of stock". If you want people to shop there, you must have the product for them to buy in stock. Disappointing.
Are you really fair and square. Employees that gave thier sweat and time to help make the place a great place to shop and with personal pride. Employees that missed family times, vacations not approved because a so called big event was coming up, overnighters to get the new fair and square program up and running, crazy hours, over 20 years working for JCP, and you throw us away like old trash. I hope to god you as a company fold up and blow away in the wind, you do not deserve to be in business, I myself and family will never shop with you again and who ever I can talk to about that I will. You knew this was coming with the new fair and square program and you looked us in the eye like nothing was wrong and demanded more time, work faster, declined time off. You store managers are just as bad as the new CEO, I pray that you get yours. Associates that happen to need the medical insurance, cobra is such a rip off with the price, I am so dissapointed in you as a company, I worked with you with pride, honor, trust, you could not even give us the same courtesy. I look forward to your doors closing soon. A former associate that rates you lower than a snakes belly.
The one star is for Ron Johnson. Like one reveiwer stated. What goes around comes around. To take the core value of what used to be an institution and make it all about money. To those that know, it's not all just about Ron Johnson. The two major investors want more money than they can spend in a lifetime. Money is what makes the world evil. So, how do you make money. You take dedicated employees and disgard them like you would the trash and call it restructing. It all came down to like another one stated, who kissed the most butt. Good luck JCP, your gonna need it, and if a lot of us have anything to do with it, we will boycot, and never step foot in the store again... Do you think I am disgruntled.. 14 years and sent on my merry way.. thanks for nothing Ron Johnson. I hope your family never finds out what you really did and are doing to JCP.
Poor is how I see your store in Centerville, OH. First visit since the change over and boy was I disappointed and will never go back. Nothing is organized, size or easy shop. It looks like a bargin basement!!! at it's worse. The clothes lack style, quality and there is way too many of the same thing all bunched on rack after rack after rack. I sure don't want to look like every body else. No one around to help you and check out was slow so I laid the belt down I was going to purchase and left - poor management. Where did all the good clothes go? Someone needs to loose their job over this change as it is certainly isfor the worse in our area.
I tell you right now, the JCPenny will be out of business before long if you don't reverse it back to the old JCPenny. There is nothing there that I want and no sales...I was looking for Cabin Creek jeans, you took those out along with Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. I use to buy alot of things with sales and coupons, but not anymore. I would rather shop at Belks, Macys, and Kohls. It is sad to lay off the employees reducing pay, etc. Who do you think you are the CEO of JCPenny, all you worry about is your income, not the employees. No one around the store to look for service. BYE JCPENNY
I have been a loyal employee for 2.5 years. I am a VERY hard worker. My hours were cut from 32-35 a week to 18 a week. I signed up for insurance last October. If I had known this was going to happen, I wouldn't have signed up for insurance since I cannot afford the $122.00 a month anymore. I can barely pay my bills. My car payment is behind and in risk of reposession. I am actively seeking full-time employment elsewhere, and when I find it, I will NOT give notice as this is no longer a company I believe in or want to work for. James Cash Penney woould ROLL over in his grave! I was going to do everything in my power to stick it out until things started to look up, but after the recent management changes, and another single mom supervisor being let go, well, I dread going to work everyday! But, Mr. Ron Johnson, I am sure you could care less about us as you pocket you 56 million... I know to you, we come a dime a dozen.. Ironically, I worked for Target 13 years ago when you were over that company. I was beter off there. Thanks for the increase in our discount; however, I saved more with the coupons and the old discount. Although we did get bonuses and a pay raise this year, I have 3 children to care for.. I had to go back on food stamps last month. Thanks!
I am terribly disappointed in the new JCPenney advertising campaign and its politically correct direction. I saw the lesbian "family" in the May catalog mailed to my home. That same picture without the commentary would have left the status open to interpretation. The women could have been best friends, sisters. But to spell it out was meant to appeal to those who favor homosexuality. Conservative Christians or others who believe marriage is one man and one woman are totally disregarded. I have already called customer relations to express my disapproval and left an email as to why I unsubscribed from Penney's emails. I am mailing my cut up, cancelled Penney's card to Ron Johnson as an attempt to express my disappointment. I am only one former customer, but I have family who also used to call Penney's our favorite store.
I will never shop at JCP ever again
J C Penny needs to fire who ever is responsible for the changes. Get with it, your customers are smarter than you guys. If you need someone in advertisement, which it's apparent you do, then hire your customers. I use to run to the store every time I received coupons, I haven't been back till this week end since Christmas and after the experience I probably won't ever go back. There wasn't a single clerk in the men's department to help us and we had to go downstairs to the shoe department to get checked out. Get smart and start firing in Corp, not clerks.
