My husband and I just viewed a news report on LA CBS2 regarding your new advertising that includes gay families and the subsequent unbelievably ignorant comments made by Brian Fisher. We support your campaign and the rights of all Americans families. Thank you JC Penney!
I have been a loyal Penny's fan for a very long time, and I don't have a problem with the homosexual ads, I'm a New Yorker and open to all loving families, regardless of race or sex. However, that being said, I do have to say how disappointed I am in the store itself. You took out the Catalog Desk??? Why would you do something as dumb as that? The other employees in the store do not have a clue as to what to do with Catalog items or returns, they don't call you to tell you your order is in, they have no clue. And when I did ask what happened, I got a snarky response from the employee. I have to admit, i'm really starting to lose interest in the store.
I am so disappointed with the change in JC Penney's management. Who hired the CEO? They are the ones that have allowed this man the freedom to mess up a good store. My family has shopped with Penney's as long as I can remember and it was a respectable place to shop. Not any more! I have an account with them and I am going to cancel it today. I kept waiting in hopes that someone would come to their senses and get that CEO out.....obiviously it is not happening. Goodbye JC Penney unless you decide to go back to the good and respectable store you once were.
Goodbye JCP. When your CEO gave up JCP's family values, he lost my long time business. Bringing back coupons won't get me back. You need to get rid of your current CEO and restore your company image
I have been a avid shopper with JC Penny for years. My family preferred your store over all others;however, we will not longer purchase anything from your store as long as you promote Ads for Homosexuals. Your store I thought was built on Families, a man and women and not gays, I am going to Pass the word to everyone I know in every church I can contact. I hope you can get by on their business alone.
I received a CATALOG recently, in fact 2, the first was a Small , app. 8 page catalog, the last a 20 page??Not sure, I didn't count the pages. Why doesn't JC Penneys just admit they made a mistake in getting the big Catalogs back, just get the regular OLD Catalogs back? My mother was a regular shopper at JC Penneys, both in the Store and was a REGUALR Catalog orderer. She was told tghat they want people to order from the Computer now, She DOESN'T have one, will not get one, She's 84. i am younger, I have a computer, don't really like shopping over the computer. they are maybe finaly waking up and realizing they made a mistake. They are sending CATALOGS out again, but not like the lold ones, just get the CATALOGS back, pople like tfhem,. love looking through catalogs.
I did not agree with your Father's Day ad that went overboard and was not politically correct. It should be generic to address all types of people and all types of walks. It is unfortunate as I will not be shopping at JCP for Father's Day gifts. Please consider this in future advertising.
We have loved JCP for years and years and shop there nearly exclusively. However, because JCP is shoving the homosexual lifestyle down our throats with their recent Mother's Day and Father's Day ads, our JCP credit card has been cut up and sent back. We wish JCP would just remain neutral in this agenda!! Until then, we will shop elsewhere.
For what its worth--here are some thoughts from a long-time customer (I'm a senior --citizen that is) An attempt at an email did not work so.... I worked at JC Penney in Iowa when I graduated from college years ago so it has been in my cross-hairs since then. It has been hard watching Penney's as well as other retail department stores try to compete in the current economic milieu. I have become used to shopping on my own without "interference" from a hovering clerk, as in olden days. (LIKE) I have learned to take several items to the changing room because no one will be there to run back for another size. (DON"T LIKE) I take all this in stride in hopes that cut backs in the stores will keep it alive. The merchandise has remained reliable. I love the lowest price stays the lowest price deal and the special days (can't remember them tho, so maybe that needs work...2nd and 4th Fridays? Tuesdays? ... not sure. I have been commenting to my husband about the gorgeous and generously sized layouts of the Penney's "booklet" that arrives regularly at my mailbox. I get the connection of color, item choice and promotional items and beautiful photography. I hardly want to toss them in the trash. It is so unlike, Macy's, Belk, Sears, Kohls etc. ads. I love it but I am not sure the average person gets it. Since I am a MAC user maybe the clean lines and innovative approach keep me interested, but we are not all MAC users. I really want Penneys to succeed. Think of the PC users!!!! ; ) (yeah, yeah, MAC users always think they are better than everyone else!) Now, it turns out, I have friends who tell me they will NOT shop Penneys anymore because of the gay-dad ad. Not prone to boycotts, that makes me sad. I do not see the point of a business taking a stand on a social issue, however innocuous, that might cost some income. As I understand it, there are somewhere between 2-10% of Americans who are gay. If your business increases 10% because of that, fine. I am not sure how many more non-gays would shop Penneys because of the ad but I think a lot more might NOT shop there because of it. Please, take stock of the creative people you are working with and reconsider what is happening. If sales are up, great. The cost of producing hard copy, hi- def photographic material will be well worth it. But if the ad costs are eating up profits and stores begin to close, the consumer will have lost and another era in American retail life will be gone. Each time I have been in my local store, it is sparse with shoppers and this was before the boycotters threatened. I appreciate your efforts at innovation, just wanted to share my take on it. Best wishes.
I will never shop at jc penney's again. You move to promote the gay lifestyle is immoral and ungodly. Goodbye
Thank you JC Penneys for standing up for the other half of america. To those of you who want this company to remain neutral, how is having hetero couples on ads a neutral position? Gays and lesbians are people just like the rest of you. They put their pants on the same way. Shame on you for twisting gods views into your own agenda. Some day may someone show you to disrespect and thoughtlessness you are showing to these people. I hope that your children and grandchildren will forgive you for closemindedness.
I was a JC Penny's shopper before they changed their stores. Now all they have is junk, junk, junk.
No to the homosexual agenda; you should be a retailer, not an advocate for a destructive lifestyle.
I was one of the hard working dedicated sales supervisors that was laid off on April 30th. To me the sad part of this is it could have been avoided if they had not gone to this new Pricing strategy. Anyone who knows anything about business would have made sure test marketing was done first to be sure this is something that would appeal to customers. I have a new job at a large department store that does coupons and sales and business is fantastic. Customers love coupons. I think more than ever now that Penneys doesn't offer them. I also think it was wrong for them to say the layoffs were based on previous reviews. This is not true it was based on how much you were making. I made 16 dollars an hour and the new supervisors in our store were making 9 or 10 dollars and they are still there. They laid off the experienced high paid in our store and from what I hear all stores. I have been told by past coworkers still at Penneys that the treatment of associates has gotten very bad by Store Managers due to poor sales continuing. I am so glad I work for a different store. It was JCPenneys loss.
PENNEY'S NEEDS TO GO UNDER AFTER THE WAY THE COMPANY HAS DONE ITS EMPLOYEES LAYING OFF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE NATION WIDE GIVING SEVERANCE PACKAGES TO OLDER EMPLOYEES .AND CUT HRS. STOPPING EMPLOYEES COMMISSION ,HOW CAN YOU DO THINGS LIKE THAT AND SURVIVE . THE NEW CEO JUST MADE THE ECONOMY WORSE
You have just lost another customer. Not only do I not like the service at our local store as well as the new design, I am appalled at the advertising that has recently come out as an acceptable way of life. We have shopped your store for many years but will no longer be a customer.
The way Ron Johnson is treating the employees of JCP is awful. I have been a hairstylist there for 18 years and my commission was just taken away from me. Many stylist in my salon were demoted. I am currently looking for another job.
Jcpenney logistics in cols ., ohio is a completely unfair place toward employees. After calling a meeting and telling the employees their hours would be cut to 32 hours , my husband was sent to a different location yesterday and found out the entire warehouse had not been cut , only the people with the least amount of time And The MOST Amount Of Time . I cannot believe a company can llie , lie , lie and continually get by . When my husband queston ed them about it they told him he wasn't there , we were on vacation in Texas at the time, HR told him TOO bad we are not changing it .
I find it interesting that someone (the comment I can see just before mine) believes that continuing to discriminate against LGBT people is staying neutral. There is no way to be neutral in this 'culture war'. I am a lifelong, very active and committed Christian who happens also to be gay. I, our four adopted kids, my pastor brother and pastor father, my siblings, all my nieces and nephews and the rest of the family will continue shopping at JCP as we have since I was a kid. Thank you for being unwilling to discriminate in the face of threats. I think there are many people, gay/straight, Christian/not in church, who believe you are doing the right thing.
I loved JCP clothes and the store. The new pricing did not even bother me but when you parade around homosexuals in your ad, you have crossed a line. You went after 1% of the population and offended the rest. I still have traditional family values that believe in the Holy word of God. I will not support a place that throws morals out the window and promotes this abomination!
