I notice a change in the company around 2006 it is a bad place to work they treat the people thats been with the company like crap the managers treat you like crap the store manager does not care about the associates he cut your hours down to nothing an I mean less than 18 hours or even weeks what they donot relize without the workers you have nothing all he does is sit in his office, an nothing you do is good enough an the bad part about this is corporate let this stuff continue to happen. God donot like ulgy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! store 2168

I'm very sad to hear that JCPenney is no longer going to carry Cabin Creek clothing. I have bought so many Cabn Creek Jeans that I should have been on a mailing list warning about Cabin Creek no longer being sold. What will I do?? without my Cabin Creek Jeans??? Not real happy with JCPenney right now! Sad and Blue about Cabin Creek Jeans:(
I think the managers at JCP in Lexington Ky are the most unfeeling, uncaring managers that JCP must have. I understand when sales are down you may have to cut hours but don't keep hiring new people and give the employees that have been there longer the hours. My daughter has worked there 4 years, is a single mother and doesn't get any help from the state, or anything. She can work the register and does sales support which is more than the other sales support can do. She was scheduled to work one day within two weeks and they called and her and told her they were having to cut her hours and took that one day away from her. She is friends with other sales support people and one told her they were still working three days. How the heck is she suppose to diaper her baby and support herself with no hours. I think LEXINGTON KY needs new managers. Come in Corporate and look at the complaints, talk to the employees and see what your managers are doing. I am going to stop shopping there and so are my family and friends. Will get this out on facebook and if they weren't losing business maybe they will lose more. They don't treat the customers or employees nicely. Want to save money, cut their jobs and replace them with good bosses, people that really care about their employees. BOO JCP BOO....
yes! jcpenney, should go out of business. Like all the dinosaurs before; this is your great grandmother's store. they can't catch up with any of the hip current stores. they think by wrinkling all their merchandise for their collateral it makes them hip, it's been done by other retailers but much better and doodling on their images (think perez hilton) even k-mart did that better. it's a sinking ship, the sooner it sinks the better! r.i.p. jcpenney!
I went to the store (drove about an hour) and made a payment and got a gift card on Monday morning as soon as they opened. Normally you can make a payment and turn around and shop afterwards and put everything back on the card. My child was coming home from school and wanted to take them shopping. So we drove and hour to the store and spent 3 hours shopping. We we went to check out nothing worked. My card the gift card. So the cashier made a phone call. The JC Penney payment center called me a liar saying that I did not make a payment even though I had the receipt to prove it. The gift card said there was nothing on it even though I had just purchased it the day before. I had all the receipts to prove it. The store told me, oh well you will just have to find another way to pay. So, being the loving mother that I am I dug cash out of my wallet and made the purchase. Then as we tried to leave the alarm went off four different times as the associate forgot to remove the securty tags from the clothing. What a nightmare this experience ended up being. As we were sitting in my car my child said "mom you know what, if that is the way they treat their customers, with that much disrespect, then I don't want anything from them. Even other customers who caught me out in the parking lot were appalled at the way I was treated. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in JC Penneys and the way things were handled. We took everything back and I will not shop there again. When I called the corporate office the next day, the young man actually found everything funny. Shame on you JC Penneys for not always putting your customers first. Shame on you for calling your customers liars when they have the receipts. Shame on you for hiring people that are going to laugh across the phone when you are trying to be serious and want some answers. You really need to train your employees a little better. This is just disappointing, I thought your company was better then that.
Applied for a part time job with company as a freight handler. I have over 20 years experience in freight distribution and they stated "I wasn't qualified for the position".
As a mother and grandmother of 6 grandchildren and three children; I have been very disappointed in J.C. Penny's catalogues that come in the mail. (July 2011 Lingerie sale catalog) on this cover features a young woman, probably 2o yrs. old or younger, modeling a push-up bra and bikini panties. This cover girl is nothing short of "soft porn" and whoever is doing your layouts needs to think seriously about the impact this half nude model has on our youth. I have worked with sex offenders in prisons for over 20 yrs.; and your display of women, half nude on catalog covers which come in the mail for everyone to see, can and will lead to promiscious behavior, which in turn, can and may lead to behaviors unimaginable.
The worst customer service I have EVER received was at the JCPenney portrait studio in Palmdale Ca. 93550.
My wife went to our JCP store here in Wichita Falls TX today, Thursday July 14, 2011. She purchased many clothing items from the store! She took the items she wanted to buy to the cash register and placed them ALL ON THE COUNTER where the cashier could CLEARLY SEE THEM... Included were many clothing items and a purse that were ALL placed on the check out table. The employee ringing her up was chatting away with the cashier next to her and OBVIOUSLY not paying full attention to the items in front of her or to my wife... She did not say one word to my wife during the entire course of the sales transaction!! Then when she completed the sales transaction my wife walked out of the building with the bag of clothing and the NEW PURSE she thought the cashier had rang up when she PAID! As she was walking to her vehicle like a normal person does when they are finished shopping an undercover security officer for JCP approached her and asked to see her receipt. She willingly handed over her receipt to the man who then asked if she paid for the purse... Well of course I did it should be on the receipt! The man said "that's what I thought. You did not pay for this purse." He asked to look in the shopping bag and the purse that was just purchased. Again my wife willingly agreed! Nothing was found unpaid for or un rung up other than the purse! He then GRABBED her by the ARM and escorted her all the way to the JCP security office while his hand was around my wife's arm and made her stay there while he called the police... First off this very RUDE and arrogant man has no authority to put his hands on my wife in any way, shape or form!! He acted extremely excited about catching what he thought was a shoplifter! He never once attempted to review the tape that would prove him incorrect! Neither did the police officer who wrote the citation!!! There was no sensor on the purse and as it turns out the cashier DID NOT RING UP THE PURSE! They charged her with shoplifting!!! The security officer threatened her saying she was going to jail for stealing the purse. Eventually the police showed up and wrote her what will be a $500 ticket!!! Security did not review the tape that would PROVE her innocents by showing INTENT TO PAY ! The purse was in NO way concealed ... AGAIN she placed the purse on the check out table with the other items and because the careless, chatty box cashier did NOT ring up this item that was CLEARLY sitting in front of her …my wife is now barred for life from the mall and has this charge on her record??!!! My family and friends will never again shop at another JCP store! JCP is fully at fault for this issue! If the cashier had rang up the purse this situation would not have occurred! Or had security or the police officer reviewed the tape they would have found the cashier at fault for not properly doing her JOB!! As for the asinine security office he could have spared himself and the police officers alot of time and my wife would not have endured ANY OF THE humiliation caused by these careless employees! My wife works in the mall that she is now barred from for life and because of that she is incredibly limited on what she is able to do while at work! I will be calling to file a formal complaint with JCP corporate office and I will absolutely be insistent that they review the security cameras and do a FULL investigation!! My wife went to our JCP store here in our town of Wichita Falls TX. She purchased many clothing items from the store! She took the items she wanted to buy to the cash register and placed them ALL ON THE COUNTER where the cashier could CLEARLY SEE THEM... Included were many clothing items and a purse were ALL placed on the check out table. The employee ringing her up completed the sales transaction and my wife walked out of the building with the bag of clothing and the NEW PURSE she thought the cashier had rang up when she PAID! There was no sensor on the purse and as it turns out the cashier DID NOT RING UP THE PURSE! They stopped her right outside the door and hauled her into the security office inside our mall! They charged her with shoplifting and called the police... The security officer threatened her saying she was going to jail for stealing the purse. Eventually the police showed up and wrote her what will be a $500 ticket!!! Security refused to review the tape that would PROVE her innocents by showing INTENT TO PAY ! The purse was in NO way concealed ... AGAIN she placed the purse on the check out table with the other items and because the careless cashier did NOT ring up the item that was CLEARLY sitting in front of her …my wife is now barred for life from the mall and has this charge on her record??!!! My family and friends will never ever shop at another JCP again! JCP is fully at fault for this issue if the cashier had rang up the purse this situation would not have occurred! As for the asinine security office if he had viewed the tape he would have saved himself and the police officers alot of time and my wife would not have endured ANY OF THE humiliation caused by this careless employee! My wife works in the mall that she is now barred from for life and because of that she is incredibly limited on what she is able to do while at work! I will be calling to file a formal complaint with JCP... And I will insist that they complete a FULL investigation and review the security tape to see the cashier's negligence in this very inconvenient matter!! I just wanted to post this where everyone would be able to see!! I have now been told by others that JCP employees do not always ring up ALL of your items- we unfortunately found this out a BIT too late!!! Be careful and double check your receipt! Even though it is not your JOB to ensure all items are properly rang up... This would be the cashiers JOB!!!
I never write reviews, I normally just shrug my shoulders and move on. Not this time. On 6-15-11 I purchased a wedding ring for my soon to be husband. Due to the fact that he has small fingers his size wasn't in stock. I was assured the ring would ship to me from the factory within a week. No problem ...so I thought. It is now 7-12 and no ring, our wedding is 7-23 and after many calls and being told someone will contact me I have yet to hear from anyone. Today I went to track my order and they changed the ship date to 7-25! That's bull thankfully I have found a cheap ring for my fiance to use for the ceremony and pictures. I will NEVER deL with this company again!
JC PENNY customer service sucks they push credit cards and don't understand the word NO There is one in mens department and one in the womens that should learn what the word no means
I am disgusted to find out that the store manager in Casa Grande AZ-Bill Ewing,is having an affair with another store employee-"Stella".Great way to set an example for your employees,Bill.
On June 17th 2011 I visited the Aurora Colorado JC Penney to return a clothing gift I received at Christmas (Dec. 2010). I had the gift receipt and the merchandise with the tags attached. NOWHERE on the gift receipt did it say anything regarding their return policy. The cashier told me she could not return it, then called a supervisor named Tatiana who told me the "best" she could do would to give me $2.97 for each piece of clothing. Basically she told me that I am stuck keeping these items and did not want to assist me further. I left the store very angry. I decided to go back in and talk to a store manager. The store manager was off that day and they got their sales manager to speak with me. When they called for her she told another Supervisor to go to the desk and when I asked who it was they said it was Tatiana. When I told them I did not want to speak to her, she came up anyway and said rudely " I already spoke to her". I expressed to her that I did not feel that she handled my situation to my satisfaction and wanted to speak with someone else. Amy the sales Manager then came to speak to me and told me the merchandise was winter clothing..ok..so? she said she could see what she could do. In the meantime the counter I was standing at started to fill up with employees and another sales manager. They must have thought I was going to be difficult and I felt violated from that kind of action from the employees at the store. When Amy came back she said the best that she could do was now $8.97 per piece. Originally sold at $42 per piece. She said that merchandise goes on sale all the time and it did not sell for $42. She said the "best" that she could do was to go back to January of 2011. The people who gave me this gift are retired and are on limited income and I know they spent more than $8.97 per piece of clothing. Policies are guidelines and can be over-ridden on an individual basis. I was not trying to cheat JC Penney, but to get back to me what was spent originally. Since JC Penney got their money originally. If you have a merchandise return and a receipt, make sure it is in 90 days or JC Penney stores will NOT return it for what it was paid for initially. Their gift receipts DO NOT say that. Even though they got their money initially, they will not return or give credit for what it was originally paid for. They say it is "Company Policy"..I think it is poor Customer Service. Erin, the(very nice)Customer Service Rep. I spoke to said that JC Penney wants to know of these experiences so they can make it better, However I am still waiting to hear from JC Penney Corporate. Hopefully this will change so future customers will not go thru what I did. jkb
I just had an exceptional experience at the JC Penney in Athens,Georgia. I was desperate to find a suit and all the other department stores were inadequate and I could not find anything. Just when I entered the men's suit department as associate named Kelvin immediately greeted me with a lot of warmth but not pushy at all. I told him what I was looking for and my previous experience and he nailed exactly what I needed and suggested other items to complement my suit. He engaged in conversation with me without being too personal and hit a perfect note of taking care of me as a customer and being so friendly as a person. His other colleague, Marsha also assisted us at the end with the purchase and the two of them helped each other and were an exceptional team. This was the best shopping experience I ever had.
I recently found that we are being charged late fees for obviusely what JCPenney's deam on a late payment. The Problem isn't that I have been late on our payments but their policy which some how benifits them if you are early with the payment. I have made 8 payments to them over the past 6 months, and when I try to explain this to them they refer to their policy. Now this person does not live here in the United States(Indian accent from both individuals I talked too) so JCPenney has out-sourced their customer service. So this individual does not understand that Policy does not trump ones constitutional rights ("pursuit of happiness"). I strongly believe in my responsibility to pay my bills and have diligenly done so for a while now. That does not mean that I have not made mistakes and been late in the past, but when one pays in advance and a business takes advantage of their loyal customer via a policy that the stand behind, then it is time that that customer not only takes his/her business elswhere and starts a boycot of said business starting with family and friends.
I just purchased two towels from jc pennys and washed them one time and they are coming apart and i just washed the two towels by them selfs what really
I ordered custom drapes from the Southern Park Mall JCPenney store in Boardman, OH on April 27. I was told they would be ready in about 6 weeks. Three months later, on July 27, they were delivered and installed. However, one of the valances was 4 inches too long (I had two windows). I waited 3 weeks for them to come back and take it down, and was told it would be several more weeks before it would be returned. I have been given the "excuse" that they closed one of their workrooms and now everything is backed up! I still don't have the completed project, but the full charge was put on my credit card and I had to pay it (or get a finance charge) before I have my drapes! When I complained to the credit card company, they said they could not do anything about it -- JCP put it on there. I was told by the store decorator that this was their policy -- after all, I had 75% of the finished project in my home! I complained to the store manager and all he would do was offer me a $50 gift card "to cover my finance charges". I still have never received the gift card! I am cancelling my JCP credit card and not shoppping there again. This is just too much!!!!
