Dear CEO: After spending 22 minutes waiting to check out at my local store I think you need make changes if you want my business and my money. Today there were lines that blocked people from even getting around in the store. The clerks were doing all they could do, so I got on my phone and called the manager which was very nice and understood where I was coming from but he informed me that you had taken out several Customer Service registers and that he could not do anything to help the situation as he has no control of adding any back to the store. I have shopped for over 30 years with you but unless you are willing to put the Customer first I will not be returning and will suggest to everyone that even thinks of shopping with you to think again. A lot of customers today just put the things they intended to buy down and walked away. So I think I have the right to ask kind of idiot runs this company? Where is his business sense? You have great lines for reasonable prices but so does other stores. Will we all need to stop shopping at your stores to get your attention With the economy like it is I would assume you need every sale you can get and the best way to make a profit is to keep the Customer happy. I would personally like to talk with someone in the company that has JC Penney's best interest at heart. You can reply to this e-mail and give me a name and number as I would like to personally talk with someone.
My name is John Doe and Im an associate of JCP Door-to-Floor Team in the Annapolis Mall store in Annapolis,Maryland. My issue is that there is alot of foul activity occurring in my place of work. It feels more like a jail than a actual workplace. I been at JCP for 6 years and have never had trouble with anyone on the management team until now. This person talks down to you as if you are a dog and treats you as if you are less than a human being. I dont ask for anything but respect and fairness and at this particular store it seems you dont get either. This person is doing things to try and get rid of the veteran members of the team...things like keep saying things to try to prompt them into saying something back. Taking them off the schedule and put other members of different departments in their place and then lie and tell them its a small truck. Look for reasons to write them up and trying to get people terminated or replaced to make room for the her little favorites. Its funny that when there is a so-called "small truck", none of the newer people are off, only the people who have been there a couple years. And its the holiday season and I know that "small trucks" are rare. Its alot of fishy things going on in store 2102.
I am an employee of Hilltop, CA (Richmond) the store manager are very rude !! JCPenney really is nothing but Horribly treat their employee !!!!!
This store is going down the toliet. It is an awful, awful place to work. Here is some of the inside scoop: 1. As a commission sales associate in shoes productivity and achieving sales goals is based on how much you sell per hour worked. How is it fair that when associates close, being there 1 hour plus past store closing this counts against their productivity... how can you even sell anything when the store isn't open? 2. I agree with the above posted that JCPenney hires tons and tons of pt employees when the current employees ALL want more hours. How is this fair? Everyone in my deptartment minus 2 are pt. ALL of us want more hours. Instead of giving us an extra few hours a week, more people are hired and given those hours we would gladly work (still remaining pt.) 3. Your coupons suck. You always have them. You give them out like candy to please customers. They are doubling coupons which clearly can't be doubled. They go from register to register to use one time use coupons over and over. There are flaws in the bar codes allowing one time coupons to be scanned multiple times. 4. Your management is not consistant. They do not follow the rules. 5. In commission shoe sales, there is no sales activity of establishing a clientele, prospecting, or any other useful skills practiced or taught. 6. No one ever hosts meetings or education on upcoming fashion trends, new brands (i.e. call it spring) or anything useful. It just goes down like oh look at this new shoe I found on the table that no one told me about. I guess I must sell it with no product/fashion knowledge (aka make up crap.) 7. In a dept with a sales lose, no one bothers to say, gee I wonder what the stock room looks like. I can tell you it is horrid. We have to push catalog because we can't actually find the shoes. I never shop here and sooner vs later I will not be working here. Heads up, everyone in my department is looking elsewhere for employment.
I am a employee at jcprnney in torrance california store #1811. This store is in need pf new supervisors. Employee are constantly being mistreated and taken advantage of and supervisors constantly abuse their authority and created a negative work enviroment. The only managers and supervisors who are well respected are:supervisor teresa and both julies and the manager of juniors ebony. other than these three people the staff meant to lead the.store is pulling it apart.
JC Penny "Home Select" Promo is a SCAM! They trick you into a 30 day trail membership then after 30 days they DO NOT verify you want to remain a member or not but instead automatically deduct $9.95 from your credit card with out your knowledge. JC Penny loves to steal your money any way they can and they have several tricks under their belts. DO NOT SHOP AT JC PENNY at all costs their savings is crap and their merchandize is cheap and of poor quality. Shop there and be sorry!
Store number 2720, manager named Beverly, very tall and Tom boyish does not appreciate the employees if she is working near you she never will address u by your name she will just say hey u, ring on this register. And If u need help she will embaress u infront of the customer and say do your job. Manager of the store nuncia, should tell all of her managers to respect employees! We respect the managers they need to respect us too!!
Called customer service today 10/13/11 asked if they have the 2011 Christmas Catalog. Customer servic attendant did not know if they had any. "WOW" then she said ,maybe later in the year so I asked if she new when: her response: """NO IDEA""" WOW impressed with the customer service. And that answer came from the customer service department!!!!!! Sooooooooooooooooo why are they there?????
I am writing to say how utterly useless the jcpenney online job application software is. This is the most obtuse and convoluted web page I have ever had the displeasure to encounter. The programmers who wrote this dog should be fired. I wasted time at home trying to fill out an online form thinking it was for a local store. After trying once and going back to the page to see if what I uploaded was there, I had to go back a second time and reload everything. At that point I got a "thank you" email. When I called the local Penney's store since I hadn't heard from them, the woman said " You didn't fill out the questions!" What questions? There weren't any to answer on the page I found. Yet the page clearly says " resume on file" and cover letter! So back again to the computer and 'lo and behold after drilling down and down, putting in the STORE NUMBER, there were 50+ questions to be answered so I started over again. This time when it came to the end to answer the 'bonus questions' I did that too, only to find that I could not close the window using the button on the page. Therefore when I closed the browser all the information I input wasn't saved....AGAIN! Do you see a pattern here? Next I decided to go into the store and use the online kiosk. That too turned out to be a total fiasco and when I got home hours later, there was NO "thank you" email for the in-store application, no proof it was ever done! In a situation like this it is YOU that lose, not I. I have over 30 years experience in retail sales and have a large established customer base. I would be an asset to whomever chooses to hire me, but it surely won't be jcpenney. It's impossible to apply !!! PS: I build computers as a hobby so I am anything but computer illiterate, if I can't make a simple application work, how is a layperson to do it? I pity the folks that DO work there if this is any indication of how things are done. The comments above what I am posting aren't exactly shining examples of happy employees or customers.
Even giving JC Penney 1 STAR is not right. They are undeserving and should receive -5 STARS! I will never work for JC Penney or go to any of their stores again. While I was working at the, distribution center in Statesville,NC, cust. dec dept. All the previous (older aged) workers were extremely rude, and devious. They made it their personal mission to make sure that the new co-workers like myself fail by providing lack of training and would say one thing, but do another to confuse you on what you're really suppose to do. They also based everything on favoritism and not performance at all. If you talked to any of the supervisors ( which were fresh out of college, their 1st job as supervisor) about the lack of training, they will retaliate against you and then make up excuses not to hire you, such as " you're job assignment is over." If they liked someone even though they just walked around and talked all day, they will hire them. If you're an honest loyal worker, dont work there. They will not appreciate your hard work or give you any acknowledgment. Also went to JC penney @ Valley Hills Mall to show support since I was working at JC Penney @ the time and the cashier lady acted like she was working a top notched position within the company, with total negative attitude, didnt say one word, took the money and handed us the change and that was it. JC Penney, seriously treat you like you are common liter and that you "NEED" them so much, therefore they have the right to treat you whichever way they want. I've never shopped at JC Penney prior to my personal experience with them anyways because I always thought their clothes were outdated and overpriced, but this makes me even more disgusted with that company and I was right to never give them my time, service, or money all these years. I left and went to Target Distribution and everyone there was very respectful. Treated everyone there as their own and with respect like you are at their same level. JC Penney.... NEVER AGAIN! and by the way.....I dont even want to provide my name because just knowing how devious they are, they might try to blackball me to protect their stupid name!
Attention JC Penneys customers! Penneys abuses their most dedicated employees! My mother was forced into early retirement after a year of harassment by upper management. They are making life miserable for older employees so they will quit. Then Penneys can hire younger people and pay them cheaper wages. They set quotas for the sales people to sign up new credit card customers. If the employee fails to meet their quota they are literally chastized and belittled. They only care about corporate greed. They They don't care about their employees health and moral. So do you really think they care about us, the people who shop at there stores! No, they only look at us as cattle with a JC Penney credit card! I am no longer a JC Penney customer! There are other places to shop. Maybe if sales go down for Penneys they will take a hard look at themselves and realize they have signed there own bankruptcy certificate!
Shame on J.C. Penney for pulling a commercial because some loony right-wing fringe group found it "sexist." Imagine, advertisers using a pretty woman to sell stuff! How are you! (sarcasm, in case you're not getting it.) Those Victoria's Secret models better put on some granny panties in their commercials! I was a longtime, loyal Penney's customer. But Kohl's will work just as well.
Employees of the store in Strongsville/Westfield mall are RUDE and obviously are not trained to give proper customer service. I attempted to get a fitting room this afternoon, but the empty ones were locked and needed unlocked by an employee. I kindly asked one woman sales associate if she could please unlock one for me. She then said "theres fitting rooms over there" in a snotty tone, too lazy to open one of the vacant fitting rooms herself, and ran off with an armfull of clothes to go do who knows what with. So I reluctantly and smugly walked to the fitting rooms on the opposite side of the wall. There was another wonam sales associate standing near the fitting rooms entrance, which all doors were locked once again, yet vacant. So I waited for her to unlock a door for me as the sales associate stood at the register desk area. Needless to say, she purposely ignored me and my mother for 5 minutes before more girls came to stand behind me to get a fitting room, in which the woman finally acknowledged all of us, and said in a similarly rude tone as the other woman: "Oh ladies theres fitting rooms there on the other side of the asile you can use."...Where we had just come from. Needless to say, my mother and I had had enough of their compleate lack of customer service and rudeness that we left without purchasing what we were going to. Downright RUDE and LAZY employees at this establishment. Dissappointed and WILL NOT be doing business with this company anymore.
While watching the football games on Sunday, Sept.11, I saw a commercial for JC Penney advertising some sort of men's clothing. The Voice said something like: For a hot deal on these clothes get them at JC Penney's. The picture then showed a beautiful young woman in a very brief bikini. She was in some water from which she rose and placed her hands in the middle of her breasts like she was going to remove her top. The voice said, "This is the hot deal you can get by shopping at JC Penneys." I was very offended. I am a 70+ female who has shopped at Penny's I guess most of my life. I am so sorry they have bought into the theory that the whole world revolves around sex. I don't see how this commercial will increase your sales. In fact, you have lost a long time customer.
How can we as Americans support America if we can't buy things made in America. I went shopping today at JCP and couldn't find one thing I wanted that hade been made here. I will shop where I can find American made clothing and other things. We need to stand up and demand American made products. This would help get us back to where we need to be.
Why is it that EVERY week in your sales flyer you have images of busty, undressed women promoting the sales of bras and images of fully clad men selling clothes (often ties)? Why oh why?
I have noticed and felt that safety is lacking big times in this store.Kids are running into people and knocking down stuff and a kid spat on me.Shoppers are bringing the carts from Sears in the store and that looks very tacky.I called and told this to a sales clerk. Please do something for safety before someone gets hurt badly.
Recently your store in Albany Georgia was remodeled - customers struggled with all the changes -but the result was good. The store is lovely - spacious and really upscale looking. During the change a high class make up section Sephora was incorporated and that's good - but the low class music and loud volume in there is an absolute turn off to customers who have shopped in this store for many many years and never had to endure such gosh awful sounds while trying to shop nearby. You make excuses for the sound but if you balance out the low class music to the high class store you need to reconsider the noise.
I honestly have to say many people think JCPenney pays excellent pay to be honest with u THEY DONT...... Barely have enough to pay rent and bills almost got put out my apartment and then they cut hours like crazy......then when we coe to work we have to give 110% doin the register, folding, helpin on the floor, all at 1 time and alot the the time its only 1 person per department and management talks to use like we are nothing while their in the offices sitting behide a computer so next time u come to jcpenney and say how rude and nasty we are thik about wat that person behind the register is goin through
Love the coupons every Saturday and on top of that the doorbusters. It's a great way to save on coats. The only thing is right now JcPenneys can only put out a certain amount of coupons and if you don't ask them, they won't let you know where the coupons are and if you don't come early enough they run out. All in all, with the sale price, employee discount, $10 off coupon, and doorbuster I was able to buy a coat that was supposely $150, sale price $89.99, doorbuster brought it down to $59.99, $10 off coupon bring it down to $49.99, and my associate discount brought it down to $39.99. Took out a $20 bill and pay the $19.99 on my debit card. I was highly satisfy with my purchase^^
