Yes, Yes, Yes on supporting Ellen as a spokesperson. Penney's has been my favorite shopping place since my kids were small--almost 30 years. I would have taken my business elsewhere if Ellen had been sacked. She represents all good things and I applaud her--and you!

We have been customers of your store for many years. Your store catered to our life-style and income level. Apparently your future vision of re-inventing your store will no longer reflect our lifestyle or values. We am tired of the Hollywood "role models" shoving their perverted lifestyle down our throats. I don't like Ellen, and don't find her funny. You have a right to hire anyone you wish, and we have a right to shop at other places. I am cancelling my credit card with your store immediately.

I want to thank you for standing behind your decision not to fire Ellen because she's gay. We may be gay but we still dress, eat & shop like everyone else does. Will these "Moms" not allow their girls to buy or wear "Cover Girl" products either. Ellen is a beautiful & fun loving person.....she's been very successful with her show & in her commercials. Stop the hating "Moms"! I hope your children grow up to love a person for who they are.....not who they love. HATEFUL people like you are why we have so much violence in this world. So many young children are killing themselves or being killed because they are "different".....STOP the bullying!!! If I had a mother like you when I grew up, I would have distanced myself from her. I was taught to accept & respect people for who they are....no matter their color, race, religion or sexual preference. Thank you again JC Penney for doing the right thing.

Our family has shopped at JC Penneys for over 60 years. We always considered it a family store. But we will be cancelling our account and not shopping at Penneys any longer because of your new spokesperson, Ellen Degeneres. She does not represent family values, nor does she represent God's natural law.

Desperate companies do desperate things. JCP is in debt 3 billion. This new CEO is taking a huge risk having hired such a controversial spokesperson. I bought new leather furniture there in 2011 telling people where I bought it. If anyone asked now where I purchased it, I am going to say I purchased it at Dilliards. I think that the Dilliard family still supports true family values, not perversion. It sounds like JCP will be turning into a low class, low quality Target clone. Perhaps they should consider changing their store logo from JC Penny to JC Pussy.

Keep Ellen as your spokesperson !!! She appeals to all of us one some level. She is funny, pretty, and very much a "regular" person. Thank you for not choosing another super skinny and perfect actress that no one of us could ever relate with.

THAT'S THE LAST DOLLAR MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WILL SPEND AT JC PENNEYS. THE FOUNDER WOULD NEVER HAVE ALLOWED SUCH IMMORALITY TO REPRESENT HIS STORE. HOW LOW CAN A STORE GO. DOWN WITH JC PENNEY. HOPE YOU GO BROKE.

I urge you to ignore the hateful, bigoted rantings of the "Million Moms". They are ignorant and prejudice and do not speak for me or anyone else I know. I will continue to support you as long as you support freedom and diversity.

If you decide to "fire" Ellen DeGeneres because of a group of radical crazy people who call themselves "Moms" I can assure you thousands of people will boycott Penney's & never shop in your store. Please reconsider what you are doing. The sexual orientation of someone is none of this groups business. Please do not listen to them. Ellen is a great spokesperson and an asset to your organization.

I would like to commend your decision to stand behind Ellen as your spokesperson. It is time we judge people on their character, not on their sexual orientation. I will be putting my shopping dollars behind my support and will encourage my friends to do the same.

Thank you for upholding your decision to keep Ellen DeGeneres as your spokesperson. Her show and actions as documented on-air and off (if you are famous, things will just eventually show up about the behavior of your private life) are witty, fun, diversity inclusive, and full of contemporary wholesomeness. I am an aging straight woman who has watched this gal go through public humiliation, bigotry and, bigotry's sister, discrimination. Ellen has always been graceful and respectful, even when voicing her differences, and has used her forum to do so, usually in the defense of someone being bullied. Think about someone imposing upon you as a straight person to become a gay person. That is very difficult for a straight person. It isn't in your DNA-programming. Well guess what folks, her DNA programming was wired the opposite way, but her values and manners come straight out of the Mid-West. Her characteristics are nothing less than an "All-American Gal" within a millenium context. We have evolved out of 1A.D. and it is two-thousand years later and hopefully as we understand our cultural differences globally, as well as, learn to understand the difference of each other within our culture. She embodies a fun-loving wholesome side of our inclusive culture. This attack on her DNA is nothing more than Social McCarthyism. You chose Ellen because she is popular and there is a reason for that ---- most people who live comfortably within the current pool of diversity now prevalent in our culture, respect her. I congratulate you on the broader issue which probably was not to make a sexual politics statement, but to sell merchandise through popularity. With One Million Moms forcing your hand, it has taken on the broader issue of whether acceptance, inclusion and tolerance gets to prevail for a person who embodies goodness. That's a rough deal just to sell blouses, but thank you for standing up for this lovely woman. Way to go!

That screaming commercial is annoying and irritating. But they did get their point across. I just use the mute button when it comes on. It's like listening to talk radio and one of their annoying listeners comes on the air and babbles, I just mute it.I don't like Ellen for the spokesperson of JCP. They could have made a better choice.I happen to really like JCP and will continue to shop there. They're just changing with the times.Do I agree with it..No but remember a company has to make money.

Just came from attempting a haircut at your salon in Joplin, MO. I am totally outraged and working on gathering people for a class action discrimination suit against your company. My husband who has long hair, just got a cut for $16.00. I on the other hand have very short hair and was told my cut would now be $32.00???!!!! Are you freaking kidding me???? Flat out discrimination and I will not grace your door again!! You screwed up big time thinking the American public would stand for this disgrace of "CHANGE" you have embarked on. Lesbian spokeswoman; annoying ads; discriminatory sizing and price changes. Watch out JCP you are about to become a statistic.......thanks for destroying a life long family image.

I know the ad was annoying but at least it is now gone. However, I don't see prices at 40% off. I was going to order curtains and they are more now then they were in my Windows/Fall 2011 catalog. I hope this changes and changed back to the way it was. I enjoyed and waited for the promotional discounts and I took advantage of them. Now, to get the Best deal you have to order on the First and THird Friday of the month. How stupud. So they only want people to order on 2 days a month or 24 days a year. Not toooooooo smart !!!!!

Thank God for people like Ellen DeGeneres! Kind, compassionate to others...benevolent...articulate and smart! Keep Ellen as your spokesperson! It elevates the status of J.C. Penney in the American story!

I was most upset when I heard Ellen Degeneres was spokesperson for JCP. Mr. JCP has turned over in his grave after hearing that woman is part of his company. I will not shop at JCP anymore until she is taken off of any association with JCP. My family has shopped at JCP for as long as I can remember but no more and I hope other will tell their family and friends to do the same.

I am very proud of the decision makers at JC Penney for sticking with Ellen as a spokesperson for the company. I will definitely continue to patronize your stores. In this world, we should embrace people because of their character and compassion not for their sexual orientation. THANK YOU!!

Yes, the ad is annoying- though the marketing concept that it's promoting, i.e. simplified pricing/sales, is sound. I am one of those customers fed up with retail sales promotion and pricing games and I throw the entire pile of crap that comes in my mailbox in the trash without even browsing. And now that even my favorite retailers are filling my inbox with further sales promotions, I'm starting to block them as well. So yes, the ad is annoying, though it captures my sentiment exactly. As we say in marketing, 'great concept, poor execution.' More to the point- thank you JCP for standing up for Ellen Degeneres as your spokesperson. There are all manner of idiotic and morally bankrupt celebrities being overpaid as spokespeople and the "Christian" right doesn't seem to have a problem with that. This is 2011- and far past time we stopped discriminating against anyone for the color of their skin, their sexual orientation or any other superficial criteria. Though I am at work when's Ellen's show is on, it is extraordinarily successful- and many polls show her to be one of the most popular talk show hosts ever. In fact, the viewers of her show are middle America. It's the right wing-nuts who can't get past anyone or anything that doesn't look or think like them. By all means, I hope these bigots take their business elsewhere. I'd rather not share my time in JCP with your kind. And I hope JCP looks to the example of the Komen Foundation and Planned Parenthood for guidance. An increasingly large majority of Americans are tired of having others' religious beliefs shoved down their throats.

I just HAD to google this HORRIBLE commercial ad to see what it exactly MEAN'T because it was not clear at all what it was!!!! I stumbled upon this site in google and just had to write a comment to agree with ALL of you on how incredibly ugly, annoying, and confusing this commercial is! The only thing that they achieved in this commercial is for me to actually get off my a$$ after the millionth time I saw this commercial and was puzzled/annoyed every time to actually see what was happening on 2.1.12 and what it mean't! This is the most annoying, confusing commercial I have ever saw and I do not think JCP will benefit - just because of the commercial! Also, people LIKE coupons, sales, etc, why would they take that away!!!!!!!!!! Thats all, Ciao.

I don't know what all you non-degree, burger flipping people are complaining about? I worked really hard to get where I am today! It took a long time to finally hit it big and star in a commercial and all you haters are knocking me for doing what any one of you would do and sell out. I'm a movie star and I'm gonna be the next Audrey Hepburn. So, say what you want but when you come up to me and try and get my autograph, I'm gonna scream in your face cause now I'm good at it!! P.S. Keep on shopping at Kohls with your momma's credit card! Maybe someday your credit score will be high enough that you can get one of your own with a $100 limit!!
