Thank you for supporting Ellen as your new spokesperson. I am straight, Christian, and married with children. I have a strong respect for the gay community and for Ellen. She represents only the good of this country unlike One Million Moms who encourgage people to hate one another. They should change their name to One Million Idiots! I normally shop at Macy's, but I will now only shop at JCPenney!!
I am a 71 year old white male, father of four, grandfather of ten, and greatgrandfather of one, divorced and live with the love of my life, Eila. I once lived near a JCPenney and was very satisfied with their service and product quality. Now I live away but from now on I will be sending JCPenney gift cards to my grandchildren and my great grandchild because Ellen DeGeneres and JCPenney have been most kind to disadvantaged children and teachers. No one else has recognized the problem. I also believe that the Ellen DeGeneres Show is of very high quality and other entertainers could learn from her format of kindness.
You made a great choice by picking Ellen as a spokesperson; she is intelligent, funny and eminently likable. You made a greater choice by not bending to pressure put to you by intolerant people to remove Ellen as a spokesperson. I noticed that Ellen mentioned on her show her values; these include "honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you'd want to be treated and helping those in need." Those are exactly the kind of values I think the vast majority of your customers, and future customers, share. My sister, who gets her hair done at her local JCP and still shops regularly, introduced me to your store a few decades ago. I look forward to learning more about all the changes that you have been doing to update your stores.
My problem with Ellen and other stars like her is that they promote the gay lifestyle as beneficial and fulfilling. And they refuse to listen to any critisicm or refrain from promoting their lifestyle to the uneducated or young. They also will not even volunteer to debate, consider, or even acknowledge the advantages a straight couple can provide a person, child or society. And when a corporation uses a gay spokes person they continue that unfortunate trend.
In all honesty, I've never been a JCP shopper, but as of today I'm going to start being one. I must commend and applaud you on standing up to the bullies of OMM and The American Family Association. They preach family values, but act as bigots and bullies. Ellen stands far more for family values than anyone in this organization ever could through understanding, acceptance, honesty, and compassion. KUDOS!! May I remind any one else posting here, "people in glass houses should not throw stones." Keep Ellen!
JCP I just wanted to show my support for your decision to choose Ellen as your spokesperson. I have not traditionally been a JCP shopper but that changes today. I respect your decision and hope that you don't cave to the pressure of hateful bigots. Ellen is a wonderful choice. The majority of American women share her values: honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you'd want to be treated and helping those in need. Nicely done, JCP!
Thank you for standing by Ellen as your spokesperson. I am a heterosexual 65 year old Christian and I support all people who have goodness in their hearts. This woman probably does more to help her fellow man than all her critics combined.
I am a Christian, a mother and a grandmother. I applaud your choice of Ellen as your spokesperson. And congratulate you on not giving in to bullying/
We live 49 miles from the nearest mall. It contains a JC Penneys store. We used to shop there when something was needed. Now that you've hired Ellen Degeneris as your spokeperson we will no longer shop there. Homosexuality is wrong. It is a personality disorder. It is a character/morals flaw. I'm sure the Obama administration (secular progressives) will comment on your decision favorably. Shame on JC Penney for selling out to the pervert crowd just to keep afloat! Tsk, tsk, tsk!
Thank you for standing by your decision to have Ellen Degeneres as your spokesperson. I will continue shopping at your store and would have stopped if you'd changed your position. It's nice to know that a business will make a rational decision under pressure.
I have really never shopped at JC Penney as an adult because I felt that it's style was dated, much like the opinions of the people expressing outrage about Ellen Degenerous becoming your spokesperson. If your goal was to breathe new life into your brand and bring your company into 2012, you chose correctly. I don't have a clue where the nearest JC Penney is to where I live, but I am absolutely going to find it. Thank you so much for not backing down to people who are so incredibly self absorbed and egotistical that they try to force their opinions on others.
Love, Love, Love the recent changes in JCPenny's. Reducing price points by eliminating many annual sales.... Bravo for the stance regarding Ellen DeGeneres as your spokesperson! She's awesome and her sexuality does not need to be discussed period. Ellen is an extremely loving, generous and courageous woman with an incredibly honest and gentle Sprit.
this is a complaint again your Valentine ad where the little girl is obviously masturbating on her see saw in the snow. There is no other point to this that I can see. I have wrestled in my mind, am I just looking for something, but I'm not. It just hit me, and you think your audience is too moronic to either notice or have the nerve to say something. The ad is REPUGNANT
I am 73 years old and have shopped JC Penny all my life. I am shocked of your decision to make Ellen DeGeneres a spokesperson for JC Penny. You as a company are free to do what you wish but I to have the right to shop where I please. Sorry but I will no longer shop at JC Penny.
Well, Biblical Prophecy is certainly being fulfilled! Some folks are calling wrong right and right wrong. Some businesses will do anything to make the bucks. You have to hold each individual responsible for their behavior. God hates all sin, not just the sin of homosexuality, lesbianism, bigotry, lying and the list goes on. What do you expect from individuals who have no fear of God? these are the types of things they allow. For the born again Christian, this place, called earth, is not our home; do not get too comfortable, we're just passing through. Sinner's know when they are sinning. These types of lifestyles will forever remain abominations in God's sight, forever, it matters not who does it, it will never be the norm, and those individuals know. God still has his arms stretched out for sinner's to repent. He once winked at ignorance, now he is calling every man to repent. Relax, God is still in control, never change the message, even if some don't believe, it can't make God's word of none effect. God calls it sin and that's exactly what it is. When he gets tired, he will judge all sin, not just certain ones. We had better all get our houses in order, he really is coming back for those who are looking for him. Let's pray for the lost and those blinded by satan.
please do not give in to bullying by people who are homophobic. Ellen is a good, talented person whose personal life is not sullied by any luridness that besmirches many a holy roller preacher. secondly i applaud your new "less is best" ad campaign. let's all stop wasting glossy, colored paper ad magazines and coupons that fill our trash mountains. i didn't shop much at your store but am very likely to begin now because of these two issues. thanks
I want to thank you for standing behind your choice of Ellen. You couldn't of made a better choice and she is perfect. Naturally there will always be those who don't feel the same way but it is the choice of the company in the long run. I want nothing but the best for your company and for Ellen. I've shopped JCP for years as well as my mother and even if it were another company that chose Ellen I would still feel the same way. Thanks again :)
I have an unresolved issue with JCPenny since January 2012. I have talked to the store manager and left my name and number for a district manger to call me back. As of February 6, 2012 no one has contacted me. I have been a loyal Jcpenny customer since 1990 and have never experienced poor customer service. I called the 1-800-322-1189 number today to get the issue resolved and the customer service rep Ashley connected me to the store mangaer Nick Mascolino and they were actually arguing over the phone about the store protocol for contacting a customer to a district manager. I going to contact The fixer and maybe the media can help get my issue resolved.
I can not approve of this overt attempt at mainstreaming overt homosexual behavior by using Ellen Degeneres as a spokeperson. Everyone knows what she stands for. I'm not saying she should be fired but I reserve the option of not shopping at JC Penny's anymore.
I'm a heterosexual married mother of two who applauds your support of Ellen as your spokesperson. I shop JCPenney occasionally and plan to start shopping there a whole lot more. Homophobia has no place in this world just as prejudice against a person's race has no place. Ellen is popular for a reason. She's hilarious, smart, caring, and generous. She's making real positive contributions to our society. Can the million moms say the same? I know many moms who feel the same way I do. Kudos Penney's!
