My family, inlaws will never shop here again. Everyone I have overheard talking about Jcpennys hates it now.Its the new pricing,poor customer service, horrific management and tacky comercials. I feel it isn't the best deals. I could get many items cheaper with the right coupons and am extremely disappointed. I will now give all my business to Kohls. They value their customers and have extremely good deals, easy to shop stores, caring employees ready to help and I don't feel like I am shopping in a cave. Out of all people to pick why would Ellen D. be a person to promote a company! The man running the show has ruined your company. Ellen D. what a picture of purity and family values, Tacky Patriotic logo- Walmart style pricing, this will ruin your company. What is the US becoming. I use to love Jcpenny's I grew up with this company and it hurts to see things go this route. Very disappointed. At least there are other companys to shop at beside 2 walmarts.

I will not support a company who hires a person with unmoral family values. People as spokespeople or authority figures are held with higher expectations because they set the examples of future generations. Your spokesperson throws being gay in the face of all who sees her I do not want to have it shoved in my face. I am disturbed by all the changes, turning into walmart and the hiring of Ellen Degeneres. I am appauled. I have shopped with this company for 40 years and will now go elsewhere with my business or do without. I got great values with coupons, my last trip I compared prices of product vrs what I could of got it for and no we are not getting better value for our money. Middle America will not do well with this. I hate that this will probably hurt your business being many people have jobs at this company. Bad choice in the new changes. You will regret hiring this man to do wonders with your company. On a happy note I do like the even pricing but not the doing away with coupons.

You have made the simple act of shopping into a politicial statement by hiring Ellen. I can no longer spend my money at Penneys when you employ a lesbian as the face of America's family.

I salute you for standing by your decision to hire Ellen. I don't give a hoot about her personal life-she is wonderful, caring and generous. I think she is an inspiration to everyone. She has overcome so much and we congratulate her on her success! I'm certainly not going to judge her-all you "Christians" need to read the whole book-that part about judging other people. Thank you and I will be shopping in your store for my family. Oh, I also use Cover Girl and think she's amazing in those ads! We all have many choices of stores to shop at-why do we feel we have to attack stores that don't do what we want or people that we don't understand? I am writing to express my continued support of J.C. Penney s and its decision to back Ellen DeGeneres as a representative for your company. I am a long time customer having had a credit card with you since 1975. Over the years i have spent many dollars at your stores and as an on-line shopper and now, have never been happier to have done so. It looks to me as if J.C. Penneys is going through growing changes. Some people will object but it is an unwise man who does not try to keep current. I believe that with the vast amount of years i have spent on this earth that i have learned many things. One of those things is the true meaning of kindness. And while I don't know her personally, it appears that Ms. DeGeneres is the definition of kindness. And for the haters: I am not gay, never been gay, never tried gay activities but human kindness and respect should live outside of all of these situations. Kudos to the power that be at J.C Penney and much success to your company.

I am very upset by the decision to keep or even consider taking on Ellen in the first place. What she chooses to do in her personal life is her choice but when JCP as a company decides to throw her choices in our faces is another matter. Better look at who has kept you in business for years. We wonder what is wrong with our world today...take a look at your choices. I happen to be a member of the "Million Moms" group and not a "ignorant self-righteous bigots as one said. I am a mother and grandmother that believes in moral teachings. Ellen may be a good person in ways but we should never promote her personal choices just because you think it will get you a little more money in your pocket.You should have looked more for someone with family values. Keep Ellen as your spokesperson! I am so tired of conservative Christians thinking they should run the world - or at least the USA! They have such a twisted point of view, I bet even Christ would take them to task!!!

What a brilliant choice to hire Ellen Degeneres as your spokesperson. .. I am sure that people will now look at J.C. Penny as the new star of Retail. Ellen's values of. Honesty, Kindness,and Compassion.. are exceptional. And there is nothing more "traditional" than a strong female or( male for that matter) who refuses to be belittled or discharged by bullying behavior. J.C. My family and adult daughters have shopped JC Penney's for years but with JC Penney's decision to hire Degeneres that is changing. We have bought clothing, drapes, lamps and many other items from this business. Gays will pay for their life style in the hereafter we believe but getting back to Degeneres our family will not be buying from a business that employs this pervert. Open Letter to Mr. Engibous Chairman of the Board at JCPenney I regret that JCPenney has politicized the simple act of buying clothes and household goods by re-employing Ellen DeGeneres as their new "face." It is certainly not appropriate for family shopping, no matter how someone feels about her lifestyle. Too bad, I had just found my old JC Penney credit card and was going to re-active it. Now, it is shredded and in the garbage.

I salute J C Penney's for sticking to their principles, and not caving to the 'Bullies' in this world who profess to be 'Christian', yet think nothing of judging others. Though as a Christian, myself, I may not agree with the gay lifestyle, it is not up to me or anyone else on earth to judge people. I was taught that a 'Sin is a sin is a sin', and only He who is without sin should cast the first stone. I am shocked at the hypocrisy of these so-called Christians, who feel free to judge and condemn another. I see the good that Ellen has done throughout the years. She is kind and compassionate and has used her good fortune to help others that are less fortunate. The world would be better off if we all looked for the GOOD in people. I have been a customer of J C Penney's for several years and will gladly continue my patronage of the store.

I am a straight, middle aged, Christian and mother of two who is thrilled that JC Penney not only chose Ellen as their spokesperson, but also refused to bow to intolerant hate mongers.
