This company is awful. I bought an engagement ring for my fiance a year and half ago, and the ring has had 2 diamonds fall out of it already. We returned the ring the 2nd time to be fixed, and waited 7 weeks for the ring to come in. They definately lost our ring because I kept hearing for weeks that the ring was coming, but then all of a sudden it was shipped to a different jeweler. For the love of god the diamond was a little speck on the band. After 5 weeks the manager told us we could return the ring or order a new one. I thought great we can get a new ring thats a litle more expensive. So, I ordered the new one last friday, and the associate told me that it would be this friday. However, of course online it says the ring is going to shipped on the 12th. This is total BS, it has been a total of 8 weeks my fiance has had to endure this crap with no ring. Our 7th anniversary, Valentines Day are just a couple of occassions she has missed it. This is supposed to be a great time for us and instead JC Penny is making this a nightmare. If I were you I would never get a ring at this company and its better spending a little more and not having to deal with company.
I work at a jcpenny in asheville nc. and most of the employees have been fired. this change is terrible. Im a great employee but my hours have been cut back so bad that im not working for the next 2 weeks! i have bills and college tuition to pay. i think the jcp change is not the best thing thats happened. And customers have complained to me about the changes and also ive been told that they no longer like the store, coupons are what brought the customers and the excitment of shopping was waking up and getting the best deals at 5am. Im sad that I will probably quit because of the change and lack of hours, im a great employee, the stores loss.
We went shoe shopping yesterday at FRED MEYERS for the first time as we have ALWAYS got our shoes from JC Penny. I recently learned that your store has decided to fly gay pride in the face of all your customers. I Will NEVER SHOP JC PENNY AGAIN! I truly hope you will come to senses and ask your customers to forgive you for imposes your morals or lack of it on you former customers. Enjoy all she can do for your profitability. GOOD BYE
Sorry I wont be shopping at JCP anymore either. Love the merchandise and best pricing, but our hours have been reduced so much, not even our 25% employee discount can make shopping affordable. Pretty sad when your own employees cant afford to shop
It is not courageous to hire Ellen to represent your store to prove your "tolerance". Prove it by donating to charitable causes and even the gay lobby. But using her as a symbol of what Penny's represents, is more in-your-face-homosexuality, not family values. Some of us very tolerant, non-hating people are tired of being forced to change all of our American values under the name of tolerance. A family is still non-homosexual and those that have to change the very definition of words to have "acceptance", have not even accepted themselves. If homosexuals are fine with who they are, they will not want to change all of us under the acceptance flag. I accept them just fine, not in the back seat of the bus, but refuse to allocate the institutions of marriage and family to homosexuals because all of civilized history has not done do. It is not time. I want plain old values and words to mean what they say. Do people assigned in life to a wheelchair force us to say they are not handicapped? Do they force only one story buildings on us because two are harder for them? We accommodate them, not change our lives for them. You will find my cut-up Penny's card in your mail. Done- Penny's does not represent our values, but caters to the cause de jour, to the detriment of America. Gallant Decision - it was a cowardly ploy to attract ubra-liberals and get free ubra-liberal press publicity. I want my country back,
03 March 2012. Today I was in your store located in Spanish Fort, AL, and a man, I think he was a man, was acting and displaying mannerisms that I considered very unprofessional. I later found out that this person was the store manager. Imagine how shocked I was that a man would blatantly act and over exaggerate female mannerisms while working at a company as large as yours. I also observed one of your female employees that looked like she was drunk and when she passed me she was reeking of alcohol. If these are the types of people you have representing your company, then you can count me out as a customer.
I was at your JC Penney store at the Legends today. I inquired about a catalog and they told me they no longer had catalogs. I should go online to shop. I also was very disappointed to learn that you are no longer going to be carrying Cabin Creek Oxford Shirts for women. This was the best blouse I have ever found. You could wear them with everything. I have several of them. They wash very well and have worn very well. Please do not discontinue these shirts. If you decide to discontinue this line, does anyone know where they sell similar products?
I would like to express how disappointed I am that you would choose Ellen Degeneres as a spokesperson for Penney's. I have always shopped at your stores thinking of them as family oriented. However, since you have changed your values then so will I. I will not shop at JC Penney anymore. I am sure you could care less, but at least I have expressed my view.
I am sorry to see you have discontinued your catalogs, just another example of the Internet being a demise to our country. So many things we are now directed "To go on line," to find information. It is descrimation against those who are not as blessed as so many of us to afford computers and especially the elderly, who can either not afford one or do not have the understanding of clicking through numerous screens to get where you want to go. I just logged on to look at Bedspreads and Comforters, could not get a full view of what they look like and have to go somewhere else to look for matching drapes. The catolog did in all on one page. JCP is about the only place to shop, if you want bedspreads and drapes to match now a days. I think changing "The Way You Were," could be the demise of a store I have shopped at for over 45 years. I hope not. Good Luck.
First, way to go to Ellen. Love that lady. Heart of gold. Now, to JC Penney itself. My friend closed her account over 15 years ago and thought it would be off her credit report. Nope, still on it. When she called to have it removed they said it was still open. She asked to have it removed off her report and they refused saying they don't do that. Funny that other stores can do it. And, they were rude about it. She uses her AMEX card when shopping there. Oh, Penneys did admit no activity has been on the card "in many years". Hello people.
J.C Penney has fallen in the depths of hell in the hands of the devil! This so called new C.E.O. Has put thousands on the street. There will be NO more full time employees. In fact this greedy man has taken employees of many yrs, some have more than 20 yrs into this company and put them down to 15 to 25 hrs per week! how does he expect them to pay their rent or feed their children? not to mention he gave them only a weeks notice, after all the hard work they did to get their stores set JUST the way he wanted. some lost their retirement while others are losing their homes! Is this how he plans to make penneys "Americas favorite store?" and why would Ellen even want to be a part of such a thing? She stands up for gay, animal rights and so on! does this mean we as longtime employees are beneath even animals? Thanks Ellen for standing behind the ones who stood behind you!
I was shocked when I walked into a JCP store. I'm like, "What the hell!" The quality of the clothing definitely went down. And the amount of products was much less than before. You're sacrificing your quality. Every mannequin I looked at had the most horrible piece of clothing on them. There was not one thing that was nice. Almost like you've become a Target which has "crap" for clothing. I think you should go back to having a catalog. Mayabe don't advertise as much but definitely up your quality. I thought you were going to have the same stuff but a little cheaper. Boy was I wrong! I liked looking for coupons & sales. So do a lot of other people. Don't need coupons anymore because I'm not shopping at JCP anymore.
I went to JC Penny in Santa Rosa Ca to redeem a gift certificate that was purchased for me over the Holidays. I have the receipt and asked for a refund. The store clerk informed me she was not able to make the refund and promptly called her store manager, who, according to her, said the refund could not be made. I have an unused gift certificate and the receipt and NO REFUND what is wrong with this picture and how would you resommend I resolve this issue? I want my husbands money back, as he is the one that purchased the gift certificate for me. The bad part is I used to work at JCP in the 80's and have recommended those around me to utilize this store, now I'm not happy with the results I'm receiving and at this point my holiday shopping will have to happen else where unless resolution can be reached. Thank you.
How pathetic and sad to see individuals who call themselves Christians continue to blast JCPenney for hiring Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson. If you don't like it, don't shop there. I happen to love the new look, logo, and advertising. JCP needed to reinvent its image to stay alive. I used to shop there over 30years ago when I was a kid/teenager. The store has truly evolved with their full service salons, Sephora and the increased variety of merchandise. I went to purchase a $20 item from Sephora and ended up spending $550.00! So for all of you that will be shopping elsewhere, lucky for me and people like myself becuase we will absolutely make up for your lack of purchases! I AM A JCP shopper who is an independent career minded woman in upper level management who is married and ALWAYS looks for a good deal for my family and myself. To me, JCP offers that. Ellen is not trying to "speak" for all Americans. She represents what is new and fresh about the company. Get over it-go shop at Walmart.....
For those so-called Christians who claim that JCP should fire Ellen, since when did Jesus treat people so hatefully and who are YOU to judge anyone. I thought that was for God to do, not you. It is a shame that there is this segment of Christians who is starting to make our religion look like the "Taliban" of America, insisting that the whole country subscribe to this fundamentalist ideology. JCP and Ellen are not all about you and your values, they represent a diverse culture, which we were once proud to be a part of and were willing to accept as a melting pot. This disgraceful judging of others and insistance that everyone agree with you is disgusting and unamerican. Thank you to JCP for sticking to your values of inclusiveness. Ellen is a good person and does more "Christian" things that anyone of these haters on here. Take your business elsewhere if you like, we will continue buying at JCP...I am sure the small percentage of you haters will not be missed!
I love jcpenney. It is practically a family tradition and has filled all our closets. But can someone tell me why they no longer carry a.n.a jeans in tall and ultra tall. I am six foot tall and many jeans companys make " long" jeans that are not really that long and a.n.a had the perfect fit and stylish. No worries if you are short or regular. Everyone has them covered.
thank you jc Penney for not giving in to hatred and bigotry. love Ellen and me and all my friends will shop there! don't worry about the woman who says her husband is a doctor and she is emailing 500 of his coworkers! it's a scare tactic used the "one million" dumb ass moms. Ellen has over 6 million fans on her shows Facebook page, and I just emailed my 500 friends who are not bigots and they will continue to shop there and say that ellen sent them! you rock jc Penney! don't make the same mistake Susan g komen did and change your decision and lie because then you piss off everyone!
What a beautiful soul this woman Ellen is. A great choice as a spokeswoman. I don't shop at JCP but now I will.
I shopped there this week. Great prices. Pleasant staff. Sorry I wasn't shopping there before. I didn't really think about it till all this commotion, now I'll be shopping at JCPenney.
I land squarley on the side of "choice." That means freedom of choice regarding political, religious and any other view point. I do not agree with the government forcing me to subscribe to, or pay for, particular viewpoints whether I agree with them or not. I'm doubly against being manipulated and lied to by trumped-up political shows like the Fluke debacle. I do not listen to talk radio, nor do I watch television, but I wonder if you advertise on the station that carries Bill Maher, who called a conservative woman a c**t? I have cancelled my card because you are against choice. People are entitled to their opinions even if I, or you, disagree. This is not communist China (yet), and we are still allowed to think for ourselves. Apparently, you want customers who only subscribe to the viewpoint that I as a taxpayer am responsible for the recreational sex of college students and others. Birth control is available at Walmart for the price of a couple of latte at Starbucks per month - under $10.00, or you can buy Trojans, or you can choose to excercise some self control, or use the Bill Clinton methods, but in any case, I'm not paying for your sexual indulgences. What next, will we have to pay for vibrators for those without sexual partners? About the namecalling, grow up, get a thicker skin (we learned that in 4th grade), and quite the double standards. Liberals are the worst offenders in the name calling category. Truth = hate speech.
