I too am one of the employees that has worked at JCP for over 5 years, and on Monday was told that my full time position/plus full time benefits was no longer in the new plan. My area is customer service/credit/catalog delivery and sales/store returns and the switchboard for the entire store. This effects myself and four other employees. I was offered a parti time position of 15 hours, working 6 pm till 12am with price changes. I am going to be 56 years old next month (guess I am too old too)All the years I have worked for JCP I have always been an "all-star" employee, and never taken any vacation time off. IT SUCKS TO WORK AT JCP IN FLORIDA!!!!!!!

Well, to start off, the math on the first page of the may mail book (advertisement) is misleading. Yes, the merchandise is cheaper than it's MSRP price. It's 40% or more off. That's obvious, but last year, it was 40% off PLUS a $10 off coupon. or PLUS a $15 or $20 coupon, which is a much better deal than just 40% percent off plus no coupon. I don't even have a Kohl's card and they send me coupons all the time for 10 off 25 or 50. That's what got the customers. management restructuring....transformation....just spin for 'looming failure'.

Hey everyone, please check the one star rating if you are voicing a complaint. Several complaints are showing 5 stars.

I have no use for a company that will suck up to homosexuals in order to keep everyone happy and the the money rolling in. I've been a good customer of JCP for decades, but no more. I will never shop at a Penney's store or any affiliates again. To put a lesbian couple on page 11 of your May catalog, the month of Mother's Day for Heaven's sake is such an outrage to Almighty God and I hope He rains every evil known to mankind down upon companies and corporations who promote this hateful, filthy crime of homosexuality all in the name of monetary gain. I am so sorry to bother you, but I feel this is something that needs to be addressed, I use to work at Sephora inside JCP at the North East Mall I was there for a year and half, I left on good terms, they were going to have to cut my hours, I even put in a two weeks notice. I left on Jan 9th. Well I have been in JCP a few times to shop and visit with some of the friends I made while I worked there when they are not busy of course, I work in the same mall, just a different store now, so its convenient, well I went in today, hadn't even been in five minutes and the store manager pulled me aside and said she had noticed I had been in a few times and looking back at the videos I had not bought anything, and If Im not going to buy anything than don't just come to talk to the associates, I need to do that outside the store, and then watched me the whole time I was there, which was maybe 20 minutes, and also went so far as telling the associates that I know... I guess not to talk to me I couldn't hear what she said. I have bought stuff very recently, a couple of weeks ago I bought some tights for my new job, on the 17th or 18th of last month, and I bought some concealer Sephora brand and Ole Henrickson eye gel around the same time. Regardless of if I bought something or not, a lot of people just look around waisting time on their lunch break, I was a customer before I worked here. So even though I don't work there now, I am a customer and should be treated as such, I feel she was rude and what she did was not exceptable. I don't understand what her problem is, like I said earlier I left on good terms. This is ridiculous I should be able to come into the store rather I am buying something or not. Something needs to be done. If I had my receipt for the last things I bought I would be bringing them back, I am not going to shop where I am not welcome. But I am also not going to be told I can't come in there, I haven't done anything wrong. Thank you for your time. Stacy Thompson

First you have Ellen being your new face for JC Penney. Really? Please stay neutral in the cultrue war. Now your male models are covered in tattoos. Really? I'll be taking my business elsewhere!!!

I am opposed to JC Penney Corp getting into the cultural war. Check out their latest Catalogue, pages 11 & 12. I will not be shopping at the JC Penney store like I have for years and years.

In the past, I had been a steady shopper at J C Penny's. I USED to get almost all of my clothes through you, all of my window coverings, bedding sets, blankets, and sheets, all of our towels came from you, as well as almost all of my children's and my husbands clothes. Now I am a Grandma with MANY grandchildren to buy for. But, I can no longer shop at your store nor do I want to receive your catalogs. You have now choosen to do an "in-your-face" support of the homosexual lifestyle. Not only have you choose to use Ellen Degenerous as your spokesperson, now I receive in the mail, a catgalog from your firm, that on page 11 talks about "Wendi and her partner Maggie" and shows them both with wedding bands on. And what does this information have to do with manking me WANT to shop at Penny's? Nothing, it makes me NOT want to shop there. If you should ever choose to change and return to your roots and to become neutral in the cultural war, I would happily return to your store and online shopping. But until I hear that you have, I will NEVER again enter your store, I will NOT shop on your web site, and I do NOT want ANY more of your catalogs to be mailed to my home! I will be calling to cancel our J C Penny's credit card today as well! And, I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this, including our son's family since they just bought a new home and will need to stock their new home.

I am shocked at the latest jcp May catalog, it's a terrible shame. Featuring a lesbian lifestlye in the, what I guess is a clothing advertisement, is offensive to me and my whole family. What is jcp trying to push here? Is jcp now into pushing a gay agenda? I am totally confused after looking through this catalog. I had to throw the catalog out as I don't want this kind of influence in my home, especially around my children.

I have been a loyal JC Penny shopper for many, many years. My mother worked for JC Penny because she loved the store and said if she was going to spend so much time there she should get paid for doing so. JC Penny was my first credit card and always the first place to go for EVERYTHING I needed for household, clothing, cosmetics, gifts, etc. That was JC Penny, you know, the store with service and with customer care and character. I cut up my card and will not set foot in any of the stores after today. The service is all but non existant due to the new CEO's cut backs. I spent 45 minutes just trying to find someone who could answer a question over an order they had lost. The line of people complaining was much longer than the line of people "trying" to check out. I overheard one lady say that an employee of 17 years was fired yesterday-the reason given-she no longer fit in with the image of JCP. Since this Apple Jerk, has taken over, he has gotten rid of all of the senior members in the stores and wasted millions on trying to rebrand JCP as the "gender friendly" store. I am so sick of stores trying to cater to gays and lesbians as if they are a wierd unusual sex instead of people. I want to be treated like a woman not anything more not anything less. Showing gay couples in your ads as a way to make me feel "special" doesn't, it makes me feel insulted by your lame attempts. Give me real service, not lip service. Stop paying huge amounts to people like Ellen who do not need it and keep seasoned employees who do need the money and have given a good part of life to your store. You have seen my last dollar and I know for a fact that many people feel the same way I do. We are sick of the American worker being kicked around

I can't believe what happend yesterday at my store...all management got fired. SHAME ON YOU RON JHONSON!!!! Many of those manager as well as associates gave their life and effort to the company they were hard workers and you just decided to fire them while you are getting paid a fortune. Before you came the store wasn't doing too good but it was doing way better than now. Last night my jcp was Empty maybe about 10 associates for the whole store no management and very little customers... your strategy isn't working...and I think it woukd be nice enough to let associates who are still with the company really know what is going on. Why use your "fair and square" quote when you are being very unfair. Find it in your heart to give a heads up to people we all need a job to provide for our families give them time to look elsewhere dont just fire them over night. Yesterday was such an emotional day for all jcp emploeeys and now everyone is scared to even go to work. Your plan is a total FAIl!

I saw the Waco, TX JC Penny store start the downward slide around Christmas, when I do most of my in-store shopping. I have always ordered from the catalog, but that went away, so I went on-line so I could get my Cabin Creek pants and shirts, but now that option is also gone. Two weeks ago I went into the store to find Cabin Creek pants(shirts were never in the store - only in catalog), only to be told by a rude clerk that Cabin Creek was no longer being carried. I think the clerk was rude because she was worried about her job - there were hardly any customers in the store at a time when normally it would be very busy. I looked around, but didn't see anything that wasn't such poor quality that I wouldn't have it even if it was free! Sears went downhill, and I stopped buying there because Penny's carried such a good quality and choice of merchandise, with friendly clerks. Oh, for those days again!! I will not waste my time or money in JC Penny again, and will advise my family and friends to not give me gift cards from JC Penny. I am looking for a store with the Cabin Creek quality of clothing, and when I find it, I will pass the word to all I know.

DO NOT WORK FOR PENNEYS-I am looking for another job for my husband-they do not deserve him. He has had one particular day off during the week when he has custody of his child(from a former marriage) and they will not do it with these new changes and he may lose the visitation if he does not spend time with his child. With the new "structure" that came out today, they say they have to change his day and can do nothing about it. Bulls*$t, they just don't want to try. Well I will do something about it. I will find a company that deserves my husband and my family's business. They are not a "family" store anymore. Here is a clue Mr. Ron Johnson, the long haul is customer satisfaction. The customers are never going to be satisfied if the employees are not. You will have high turnover rates, and low satisfaction scores and you "advertised" it-that we can return anything -anytime. So in writing this I realize that you have taken advantage of my husband and now I will encourage others to take advantage of Penney's. I am right now going to print out the return anything anytime and start handing them out, in fact all of the hard working folks that you screwed should do the same. Certainly I will also encourage to not buy anything but what you will return later. There are two motivating factors in this world love and hate. You have made so many lives miserable in your quest to pull the numbers "up" that you think you are so far on the top. Then there is only one way for you to go and that is down. What you have coming back to you is all of the pain you have caused all of these people, no trinkets, no smudge sticks, no crosses, no anything can protect you from the wheel of Karma-really now that I think about it-I should be wishing you luck!- All the best

One thing I hate about jcp is the hours we are given!they are unfair and they treat us bad I have been at this store half my adult life and plan to retired im just a big loser

Several of us were just talking about your recent May sales flyer. We saw the add with "Maggie and Wendi and 'their' children." In your attempt to redefine what love and family is, you are destroying what real love is and what a real family is. We will no longer shop at JC Penney. We will be talking about this to others.

To J C Penney Company: After reading ALL of the reviews I find this DEPLORABLE!!! On April 30th, 2012 many of my friends were eliminated after MANY years of service. Management alleges poor productivity, and not enough credit applications. This is a reason for termination? I think not! They are bringing in other associates at a lower rate of pay that they state have been eliminated, but guess what? the positions are NOT being eliminated!WOW! Is this legal??? Hmmmm. I think I will ask my attorney what the laws are pertaining to this issue. I think there is a discriminatory issue. They are firing the older employes and hiring younger ones. I can understand that corporate wants to pad their pockets. let's go back to the beginning. Mr. Cash Penney started this store with the "Golden Rule." He was also a Christian Gentleman who believed in giving, and tithing, and this is why his business has succeeded. When I worked at JC Penney, we were a family. I enjoyed working with my peers and we were ALL team players. This reflects upon the customers. As I remember "The customer always comes first." I do not believe this is true today. We can ALL express our thoughts and feelings about what is occurring, however, will corporate actually listen? I doubt it. Ron Johnson seems to be sabotaging what once worked. His ideas do not seem to be effective. Any psychologist would tell you that people DO NOT LIKE CHANGE! THE CUSTOMERS DO NOT FEEL AS IF THEY ARE GETTING A BARGAIN, No ads, no coupons, no door busters, and no clearance signs. I am certain there is more to come! what other surprises are there, Ron? Apparently, Ron is not thinking as Mr. Cash Penney did. Let's not re-invent the wheel! How is your customer count these days? When I have gone to the shop at the store there were no customers. It is not the economy. People continue to spend . They are purchasing new vehicles, taking vacations, and buying clothing , but NOT at Penneys!!! I see many of your customers at Khol's, Marshall's, Ross, Target, and Wal Mart. My understanding is, that Ron once was employed by Apple. Why is he not there now? Or, at Target? If it is true Ron, that you had made Apple and Target # 1, then I suppose only time will tell. It is unfortunate that the employees are being thrown out like yesterday trash! It seems to me that you certainly do not care about your employees that have shown LOYALTY to the company for many, many years. I have no choice but to destroy my credit card and this saddens me. I will not spend my money at a store that destroys people's lives. Yours Truly, Stephanie Frangadakis

My son, a loyal, hardworking employee of many years, was let go today from his job at JCPenney. He, as well as 100's of other managers and supervisors across the nation, received their walking papers with the excuse that their position had been eliminated and their job skills no longer fit the mission of the company. I am wondering how loyalty, hard work above and beyond what is expected, top customer service, optimism, excellent people skills, intelligence, and decency as a human being no longer fit a company's mission statement and vision. Hundreds of lives and families were turned upside down today! The ripple effect, not only from those hundreds who were let go, but from their families and friends who are appalled by the greed of a company that touts itself as America's favorite store, will be felt. I for one, as well as my family, and no doubt many friends will NEVER shop at JCPenney again! Shame on you to all who were part of the decision to put profit before people...what goes around, comes around.

May 1, 2012 J. C. Penny’s Corporation, Inc. 6501 Legacy Drive Plano, TX 75024 Attn: Ronald Johnson RE: Complaint/Watch Repair Dear Mr. Johnson, On July 30th, 2010, my wife bought me a beautiful new watch with a warranty for my 70th birthday from J.C. Penny store in San Marcos, Texas. On Friday, February 6, 2012, we took the watch back to the J.C. Penny’s store because it was under warranty and the watch stopped working. The representative at the Jewelry counter informed us that they have to have the watch shipped off to their repair department and the estimate of completion date was around March 19, 2012. So I called on March 19th to inquire about my watch and if I could come and pick it up and was told by the sales representative that the watch was not in yet and she would check tomorrow and call me back. She called me and told me the watch was sent to Ohio for repair and they have ordered the part and she will let me know will it come back. A few days later my wife stopped by to see when the part was ordered and if there was any way she could have a date the watch will be back. The sales representative said she will call Ohio again. And this time when she called my wife back she said they just ordered the part and that the watch department for repairs is the slowest department and it takes forever to get a watch back, but they had an option for me. They would do a buy back for the watch. My wife asked what did that mean? And the salesperson said they would pay us $100 but they will keep the watch. My wife told them absolutely not, but to please get the repairs done as soon as possible. Today is May 1, 2012 and up to this date I have not received the watch and was told once again they are still waiting for the part. It has been 86 days. That watch was a very expensive watch, but most of all a beautiful gift from my wife. I am a retired senior (71 years old) and I have been buying from JC Penny’s since I was a kid. I have cut up my J.C. Penny’s credit card and I will not buy a single thing in your store again, nor will my family and friends. I will only step in the store to pick up my watch when I am told it is repaired and ready for pickup. Truthfully, I think they either lost or stole the watch and they are sticking it to me. Repairs should be done in a timely matter and in no way is 86 days a timely manner. Put yourself in my shoes and then tell me you think this is right. I know my hands are tied and I can’t do anything more, but I strongly feel you should know how I am being treated. This is unacceptable service and no customer should have to go through what I am going through and be treated in this way. Sincerely, Raymond R. Conley

Went into work today and half our management had been laid off! They were the only ones with hours, now who will work. What is going on? I didnt think jcp was going to go under, but seems a no brainer now.

If there was a 0 that is what I would have put. I have spent thousands of dollars at Penny's and since you have hired that new idiot CEO to screw everything up I have taken my business elsewhere along with what looks like a lot of other JC Penny shoppers. You have gotten rid of most of your customer service people and custom service stations. If I had wanted the everyday run of the mill crap I would have gone to Wal-mart to shop. Sometimes change is not for the best!
