I don't like Ellen DeGeneres, she is a horrible role model for young people. Her hedonistic lifestyle is not in keeping with the typical family that USED to shop JCP. I also miss the 15 percent off survey coupons combined with 10 off at the register. And using a same-sex couple in advertising is immoral and again not in keeping with the typical JCP family. Making these ignorant advertising choices will only reap failure.
Due to your recent push for the homosexual agenda I will be cutting all ties with your store. No credit cards, no texts, no emails, no in-store or on-line shopping, no portrait studio, and no salon. Way to lose good customers JCPenny!
I had been a loyal customer for years. I stress HAD. I called the corporate office to complain About the ad promoting gay couples. I was merely brushed off. I will not shop at jc penneys again being as they promote homosexuality. How hysterical that a mothers day ad would show lesbians as moms. Hmmm since when have 2 woman been able to have children. If everyone was gay there would be no mothers day because there would be no people!!
I just learned today that you featured a lesbian couple in your May ad. I have been a loyal JCpenney shopper all my life, however, with the direction you are taking your company I will never again step inside one of your stores. There are plenty of other business I can easily spend my money and it will no longer be with your corporation. I will be calling tomorrow to cancel my credit card. I may not be able to change the direction you are taking your company, but I certainly can voice my opinion by boycotting your stores.

MY MANAGER ASKED ME SEVERAL TIMES NOT TO RESIGN TO HOLD ON AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS . WELL I FOUND OUT....WITH A TERMINATION LETTER IN THE MAIL. I HAVE ONLY BEEN BACK ONCE AND IT BROKE MY HEART. I WAITED AND WAITED AND THERE IS NO HELP ANYWHERE ANYMORE. THAT USED TO BE TERMS FOR TERMINATION. BOY THINGS HAVE CHANGED! NEEDLESS TO SAY I LEFT WITHOUT MY ITEM AND WILL SHOP ELSEWHERE. I USED TO SPEND THOUSANDS AT THAT STORE. GUESS WHO THE LOSER IS ?
I am retired and have been a jcp customer for over 20 years. I agree with many comments that Mr. James Cash Penney is rolling over in his grave if he could be present to see what is happening with his stores and fair and square treatment of his loyal employees. It is evident that discrimination rules as lifelong employees are let go without notice. We hear lots of talk of streamling however are sickened to here of corporate multimillion salaries. Current practices are no way to run a business. Jcp will soon disappear while top officers walk away with heavily lined pockets towards their next venture. God help you all, what goes around........
On Monday May 7th '12, the first group of commissioned associates were called to a meeting to let us know that our commissions were being taken away completely. On a downward economy, I lost and an average at least $7.00/hour. All at the same time the main store manager was telling us how she thought this was a great thing... that with the economy down, we would be assured of making a fair hourly wage. She wanted to know how we all were "feeling" about it. No one said anything because at that time we didn't know what each of our new rate would be. They took us in individually and told us after the meeting. Ron Johnson took a signing bonus from Penneys for $52 million dollars. He took away Apple associates commissions as well. I have to leave my job now because I cannot make it. Also, I hate all the homosexual promotion going on. Why don't they just stay neutral? Mr. Penney would roll over in his grave if he knew all the things this Ron Johnson is doing. Firing so many good middle management people so he can afford to bring all his cronies onboard, and pay for a spokesperson who is also very contraversial.. Penney's is not Penney's anymore. It is a new beast! I cannot wait to find a new job!
The poor little girls being raised by two lesbians will never know the care of their fathers. But does your corporation care? Apparently not. So I will shop elsewhere from now on.
Brilliant managers have been cut and even more have taken pay cuts. All commission has been eliminated causing paycuts for hardworking people while Mister Johnson makes 53 million a year. Managers have also just been made to sign a 'No Recommendations' paper saying they are not allowed to give verbal or written recommendations for employees otherwise they'll be terminated. Is that even legal? Let's say hello to JCPenneys. Americas favorite CEO to dislike.
JCP had gone off the map by featuring in their recent ad a lesbian couple! Do you honestly think this is appropriate for any business! JCP and our country has completely lost their originators/founders compass for what is required to prosper! Sadly, both are on a downhill path from which there is likely no recovery.
Ive worked in the salon for six years now and they want us to just work work work....and now they are cutting our pay to an hourly rate instead of commission and for you store employes that is bull what the want to pay u start looking for new jobs
I've worked at JCP for 5 years and just was terminated. Hours are now being distributed based on carge apps and if your name is in the survey. Although my review was average I received no hours for the month of April. I spoke to my manager when I received a termination letter stating if I do not work in the next 14 days i'd be terminated. I spoke to the assistant store manager after being terminated and she stated I only give hours to people who get charge apps and surveys. It saddens me to see JCP go down hill. They don't are about the people who have been with them for years. Its all about the money.
Have been a customer of JCPenney for over 25 years. Love the Cabin Creek Oxford shirts, easy care and very comfortable, love the Liz Baker slacks...but it appears JCP has eliminated Liz Baker slacks and phasing out the Cabin Creek Oxford. New line seems to be toward the 20 something crowd. Well if that is your goal so be it...however, keep in mind, that age group doesn't have any money.....the 40 and above age group does have money and this 40 something will be searching for the quality clothing that you use to stock somewhere else. Searching is the key word because most other retailers went this direction years ago...JCP was different....now JCP is no different than Target, Walmart and the like. If your goal is to go out of business...congrats, you are on the right track. Not that you will listen or care (after all I am only the customer) keep what works, bring back Liz Baker & Cabin Creek...if costs are an issue phase out the brick and mortar stores and focus on internet sales...huge cost savings...malls are dying, internet is in. Your new crap can be purchased anywhere...stand out and stick with what worked for years. Oh, the new logo stinks!
What has happened to JCPenney? I am in my 30's and I can remember my grandma and great-grandma being so loyal to get your catalogs and order things from them. Once I had children, I loved getting their clothes at Penney's The deals were great and I also loved ordering things online for the home. I went to penney's at our local mall a few weeks back and didn't recognize it. It was not a fun shopping experience. Then, to top things off, I get an ad with all these mother's in it and I think, well that is great, until it becomes very obvious that you are trying to promote same-sex marriage. Well, ok, if you are trying to show all the different family structures to prove you are open to them, that is fine, but why not show a traditional family as well? I mean you are trying to be fair, right? Well, I am very offended. I am a female and have a husband that is a father to our children, and I would like to be shown the same respect as the other mothers. I will NO LONGER be shopping at your stores and I am spreading the word of how you all have changed, what your agenda is now, and also the fact you are laying off some hardworking, decent people. SHAME ON YOU. I think someone at the top better wake up and listen or what was once a fine company will be a company filing bankruptcy.

I agree whole heartedly with everything that everyone else has posted here. I have been a VERY loyal customer for most of my life and my daughter worked for Penny's when she was in high school. I love Penney's and I am sickened by what I am seeing take place. I am having a hard time understanding the new pricing. I thought that the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month they would have final markdown merchandise available. However, when I went to Penney's on Friday, people were waiting at the door for it to open up...I was the first in to get to the sale racks, however, upon asking a Sales Associate...discovered that there AREN'T ANY!!! What kind of deal is this? Your new CEO is WAYYYYY off base. He is playing up the younger generation and leaving out the Boomers who have worked there and bought there all their lives! HELLO? IS ANYBODY AT HOME? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what they are doing, however, if you are leaving out the Boomers?....you will have NO business. Guessing that 60% of your customers are of that generation and as we are aging it is becoming obvious that we are being pushed aside. Well guess what? You better get ready for a big lawsuit from what I see here. and it is well deserved I might say from what I am hearing. Shame, shame, shame on you. PLEASE QUIT WITH THE LESBIAN STUFF...2% of the population are of that species!!!
i have to say, as a out- side contract, at the Amherst location, you cut the store employees to almost none, and the store is never clean enough , and you also cut that to. people are using the restrooms on the floor in fitting room's. and you have workers whom really don't like doing the job. that you at corporate are allowing this to happen. why have unhappy worker's? and you kept, a Manager who sneaks around and peek's at the staff to see if she, can use thing's against them ,to have them removed from that spot or all together fired. WHY?. Rules... what rules, only for the staff, not the top ladies. " oh, no. not them" they talk about everyone, they don't like anyone who isn't white. They talk about the people they don't like all the time! so Guess what!!! the whole store know's everyone else's business... yea, no work place is perfect, but the store is so out of control!! you have very angry worker's who make the work place so miserable. that I have seen workers crying in the restroom's and behind office door's! the way they speak to each other is a wonder why some dept's have low sale's.. some one from that corporate needs to send someone in the store to really find out what is really going on. The new change for worker's to wear jean's is a very bad ideal. just what were you's thinking. The store is so old that the carpet's smell, in all the first floor fitting room's. Get some new carpet. many many women come in to shop from Canada and complain about the smell, WHY!! we tell upper team leaders they just call some one to wash it. But guess what! when it rain's the mold smell..once more... I don't even like working their no less shopping in the store. yes people make mistake's but when you have someone under so much stress that they can't even work with a calculator, because they have to cover lunch break's and phone call's, it would wonder why, paycheck hours are wrong! It's about" this to much power"!! to many chief's not enough Indiana's... GET some of the ladies out and put some more men in!!! and more diverse race ,I really don't understand why 80% of the store is white... and only about 5% is male... they need some type of sensitivity classes for everything, Emotions , Feeling's and Race. POOR STORE + POOR SAD WORKER'S= BAD SALE'S
Your prices are too high. No one is fooled by your gimmick to no longer have sales. I have shopped at Kohl's and Macy's for work dresses. Their sale prices beat your everyday nonsense. Also, they are offering 20% off of the prices that are already lower than yours. Their stores are packed. Yours are empty.
The May sales flyer was shocking what is JC Pennys thinking! You are not going to be getting anymore of my money as I am tired of having this type of thing shoved down my throat.
