I HAVE JUST READ THE ABOVE LETTERS FROM OTHERS AND AGREE WITH MOST OF THEM. I ALSO WILL NO LONGER SHOP AT JCP FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THEY HAVE ELLEN DEGENERES IN THEIR COMMERCIALS. THE BIBLE SPEAKS AGAINST HOMOSEXUALS AND TELLS US THAT IN ROMANS 1:26-27 GOD GAVE THEM OVER TO SHAMEFUL LUST. EVEN THEIR WOMEN EXCHANGED NATURAL RELATIONS FOR UNNATURAL ONES. IN THE SAME WAY THE MEN ALSO ABONDONED NATURAL RELATIONS WITH WOMEN AND WERE INFLAMED WITH LUST FOR ONE ANOTHER. MEN COMMITTED INDECENT ACTS WITH OTHER MEN, AND RECEIVED IN THEMSELVES THE DUE PENALTY FOR THEIR PERVERSIONS. AND GOD DOES NOT CONDON THIS KIND OF A RELATIONSHIP. IN 1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-10 THE BIBLE TELLS US "DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT THE WICKED WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDON OF GOD? I will keep it simple, the new JCPenny is not working. I at one time shopped very often at your store and it would be filled with customers, but I've notice in the past few months customer's has decreased tremendously, and I'm sure sales has declined. I liked very much the old JCpenny. You have taken what was once a high quality store filled with customer's to a low quality store and the clothing is a low quality fabric (especially) in the ladies department. I will say I don't know the answer of what need to be done, but I do know what you have currently done is not it. It's simply not working. I say this because I do not want to see you fold. Please regroup, and come up with a solution. Measure how it was done in the past and measure the new way because what I do know what gets measured improves. Best of luck to you.
ron just doesn't get it. when he gets rid of ellen and those lesbian ads he's running then i might, just might, shop again at penneys. in the meantime, i just stroll right on by in the mall and shop elsewhere. he ruined a perfectly good shopping spot.
I went to the Pennies Store in Houghton, MI 115 miles away from Ironwood to buy some men's pants which I have done many times in the past. I use to shop at the Ashland, WI store before it was closed a few months ago and I thought they were making a big mistake. Well I could not believe the one price shopping and I will not be back to Pennies. The store was so quiet and only 2 other shoppers. I will not step back into Pennies anywhere's and I don't expect they will be in business very long. I have seen this happen to other companies. You get somebody that takes over and will run it into the ground. The new way of doing business will not go over and they are heading out of business. I don't think that even if they try to go back it's too late and they might as well accept the fact they are done. My sister said the same thing about the Pennies store in Duluth, Mn and she will never go back. Its too bad as I really liked the store and sales. Have a good day!!!!!!

To Ronald Johnson Over a week ago I purchased a bathing suit online. I have not heard from the store so I called today to see if it has come in. I got the childrens Dept. who told me there is no longer a catalog Dept. I asked to be connected to anyone in catalog to find out where my bathing suit is. I was put on hold and after 5 plus minutes the line went dead. I called back and the rather rude woman in the childrens Dept. answered again. I explained I was at work and could not stay on the phone for a long period of time. I asked to speak to the store Mgr. and was told he was out with the DM. The woman explained to me again that there is no longer a catalog Dept. and last Friday, one week ago, the computers were suppose to have been updated so she had the capability to look up my order but they were never updated. I told her I did not care about her computer and my problem was not being solved. Finally a woman who has worked in the catalog Dept. answered the phone and told me my suit should have been in but as of today it has not come in. She had no idea when it might be here. She also told me she has been with the company 13 years and this was her last day. Do you honestly believe you can run a business with this kind of service? You have had my money for a period of time and I WANT TO KNOW WHERE MY BATHING SUIT IS? WHO IS ABLE TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION? The store involved is located in Bradenton FL. I would personally like to thank you for saving my money. But it is not the kind of saving you think. Since you people have decided to tear down a good corporation, I have not had to send in any monthly checks for the wife and her spendings. See you have done me a great service. The last time we went to the store it looked like a morgue with unhappy surroundings. Yes your company has blew it big time. My wife looked forward to the sales brochures in the mail, now that has disappeared. Ayes your store is dying to a fast death with your so called new CEO and also the spokesperson to whom you have hawking your new JCP. The wife misses what was a WEEKLY shopping event. I do not like the new look of JCP and I really miss the coupons. Everyday low pricing nope it stinks. You had a great thing and now I have to find another store. I was a very loyal shopper of JCP but not liking the new concept. Should have thought this out before changing.
I think someone needs explain to Mr. Johnson what the Golden Rule actually means. So sad to treat people the way he's treated people.
I was just reading about your customers "not understanding" your new pricing strategy. While I feel the marketing campaign with Ellen has addressed your new strategy quite well, the entire strategy itself leaves out a major marketing component: THE PSYCHOGRAPHIC implication of the idea. People LIKE using coupons. They make buyers feel that they are getting a better deal. The company use of them is also indicative of the effectiveness of multi-media platforms and targeting used. In this case, being first is obviously not being best. Keep the pricing strategy, adjust the coupon value accordingly, and ease into the elimination of coupons over a strategized, long period of time. Given the current economy, now is not the time to lose customers. Or money!
I've been a penney's customer for yrs. The co. was much better yrs. ago, now the quality is very poor for the price. Nothing holds up. The draperies look like they belong in a harem in the desert I can't believe they have buyers with taste like that hideous. A Mr. Ackerman said he's not upset about the newest results that penney's sales are down, he's excited. Well no wonder Penney's is in trouble. the powers that be lack intelligence. I don't get it. Are the executives that dense. I bought drapes with a thermal backing I washed them according to instructions, and the backing stuck to the drapes, and ended up with holes in the backing. i returned them. But they continue to sell them. I'm not the only one with this problem. they say the color is ivory you receive it's gold. I think you need a good clean sweep of whoever is running the show. My husband received a pair of slippers that were on sale for xmas. They were originally a very high price of almost 50.00 they fell apart within a few months. Walmart slippers last longer for a longer period of time. Wish I knew where these big time decision makers come from doing a very poor job. This co. needs an overhauling like bringing in someone who knows what they're doing. And merchandise coming from USA instead of foreign countries, and better quality.
My suggestion to the Board of Directors of JCP is to fire Ron Johnson as soon as possible. this guy is a clown. You need to go back to the old way of doing business. Customers have Rons number and they know he is ripping them off. As for myself I am boycotting JCP. You get rid of Ron and I'll go back.
I think it is great that Penney's is saying goodbye to the "gimmicky" sales stuff. I for one am tired of "so called sales and coupons" . I read today that people just "don't get it". I agree that Penney's has not done a good enough job getting out the word on what they are trying to do. If you could you could use KOHL'S as an example. I got a 30% off coupon for Kohl's a few weeks ago. Waited to use the coupon but needed a gift for a friend. Looked at the coupon and I was one day early for the sale and couldn't wait. Then when I remembered about the sale I looked at the coupon I had in my purse and found that it had expired the day before. I AM TIRED OF ALL THESE COUPONS. PENNEY'S HAS TO GET THEIR ADVERTISING COMPANY TO MAKE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND ALL THE GIMMICKS. WHERE ARE YOU DON DRAPER??????????

I'VE BEEN GONE FOR ABOUT THREE MONTHS, COME BACK TO THIS. NO THANKS. I PERSONALLY WON'T SHOP THERE ANYMORE AND I'M A LOVER OF PENNY'S STORE. I used to be a loyal customer over 25 years and loved shopping throughout your sales. I no longer shop at your store. We want the old JC Penney with the sales and the coupon back!!! The new CEO is ruining JC Penney. Please bring back the coupons and sales. In this economy, consumers want to save money and feel like they are saving money. Nowadays, shopping at JC Penneys has become boring. JC Penneys was a million dollar corporation on the verge of going bankrupt. Go back to running the stores with sales and coupons. The previous CEO needs to come back and run the company. Shopping at JC Penneys is no longer exciting without the sales and coupons. Listen to your customers your customers know best!!!
No wonder you are stock is plummiting. This country is founded on Christian principles, and many God loving people still believe in those principles. You are throwing the women "partners" in the face of all those who have known and shopped JcPenney for many, many years, and live by those Christian beliefs. This is not something any of us can support. The redifinition of family may be the opinion of a few, but should be imposed on everyone. It is a shame that Jcpenney has stooped to this level of advertising. We do Care, and will not support this store anymore.
All of these complaints are just the fruit of a has been retailer that offers inferior products, inferior customer service and this company is obviously on its last leg. Of all the companies that exist as I stroll through the internet I never read about so many lawsuits being filed against a company as I have JCP. As many of the above complainers wrote about, I too have been a loyal JCP shopper for many many years as was my mother and my grandmother aunts and uncles. A JCP employee injured my son and JCP stood by its policies to abuse a minor. Ive since learned that JCP has a resume of assaults and lawsuits for employees assaulting customers. This retailer has seen its best years, I Know JCP's future destiny and its one of total store closure nationwide. You cannot do business by treating customers like shit, and attempting to hide behind a company policy that condones and encourages minors being abused in the guise of theft prevention. The public is begining to find out about these has beens and JCPennys is digging their own graves. Their products are horrible, the employees are miserable and make minimum wage, their stores are empty nobody shops there anymore. JCP have settled lawsuits for discrimination in their salons, for assaulting minor customers on fake theft allegations made by uneducated, low class, minimum wage earning theft prevention employees. As i said before, the public is getting to know what type of company JCP is and what they have been for years now its all coming out in the wash. JCP cannot escape their destiny they're washed up and not competitive and dont know how to treat customers with respect. The culture of the attitude in these stores start at the top and thats with corporate office. JCP corporate train its employees to racially profile shoppers of color and train its loss prevention to assault minors. I will never spend a dime in JCP neither will my family or any of my friends on facebook. Companies like this must be exposed for what they truly are and i'm afraid the public is slow in finding out about their business practices b/c of the old school loyal older customers. As the older loyal customers enter the nursing home and cease to shop their anymore JCP days are going to truly be over. Younger generation shoppers dont tolerate bad acting companies, people spend their money with companies that have a positive name. JCP is burned and have a bad name in the public and dont appeal to young shoppers. Pretty soon their wont be a need for the complaint blogs about JCP hideous practices b/c JCP will be out of business. And they did it to themselves by treating people bad that come their to spend money. So good for them, I hope they go out of business, cant wait to see that bunch of lozers go down. Your new "everyday" prices (supposedly 40% less than last years prices) are not low prices. One brand of clothes I buy is Alfred Dunner. You have an Alfred Dunner shirt now priced "everyday" at $40.00. I bought this Alfred Dunner shirt at Macy's-with a sale and coupon I paid $15.00 for the same shirt you are selling for $40.00. I didn't see anything in the store that I would pay the "everyday" price for. I'm careful with my money and I can get better deals at Macy's-and even Dillard's. Some items I looked at that seemed like a reasonable price (like a pair of shoes I tried on)had the feeling that they were cheap and would not last very long. As far as your advertising-what I have received in the mail I throw out without looking at because if I don't see "sale" or a "coupon" then it means nothing to me. I think it's an insult for Mr. Johnson to say he needs to teach the customer about the new "everyday" prices. I am an experienced shopper, and I don't need anyone to teach me on what is a good bargain and what is not. No matter what new advertising campaign you come up with now is not going to change the fact that your new everyday pricing is not a low price. I will not be shopping at J.C. Penney.
Your new image sucks. Your promos suck. Your new slick periodicals suck. Your new CEO sucks. I used to do a lot of shopping for clothing online, due to "fair pricing" I cant find anything I consider a fair price. I am an senior citizen and the new periodicals aka catalogs are aimed at teens, twenties to thirties. They suck.
