I have shopped at JC Penney for many years. I wear petite-size clothing and your petite department at the Avenues Mall in Jacksonville, FL always had something for me. I shopped there very frequently for everyone in the family for Christmas, birthdays and for just everyday needs. I am writing to you today to let you know that I can no longer shop at JC Penney. I'm sure the corporate office believes it has made wise choices in choosing to have Ellen DeGeneres as spokesperson and featuring same-sex couples in JC Penney advertising. Let me assure you, those were not wise choices. There is a very small percentage of the population represented in those two choices you have made but a very large percentage of the population disagrees with your choices. It used to be nice to shop at JC Penney. Goodbye.
Spoke to my local JCPenney store manager yesterday about the shocking ad that appeared in your June catalog on page 16. There before my eyes, where 2 gay dads and their kids. What happened to your values people? You are embracing this like it's nothing and we, the consumer, are supposed to just accept it, after-all, it's another form of marriage right...WRONG! I cannot believe you all would stoop this low and forget all about what your founder stood for, values and principles. I am not a person of hate, as a matter of fact, I have gay friends that continue to live in sin. I always love on them but never refuse to tell them the truth, that God loves them more, and he died once and for all for their sin. Yes, they can be forgiven if they repent. These gay and lesbian groups are the haters, and why for the life of me have you embraced them and forgotten who your true customer is...won't be visiting your store in person or online unless some real change is done to stop pushing this in my face.
I have used JCPenny for 45 years and especially appreciate your Big and Tall department for my husband. I am extremely dissapointed that your company has joined in the cultural battle to encourage alternative (unnatural) lifestyles. Why can't businesses such as yourselves just sell your product without picking sides? Now you have forced my hand to look for another source which doesn't blatently give to the decay of society. There is such a move today for "natural products, ingredients, food, etc." yet this...............???????????
I'm giving 1 star for your latest advertisements...Along with many others, I am NOT impressed with your "pro-gay" ads your corporation has shoved in our faces. I don't feel it's a corporation's place to advertise homosexuality - the product you are selling yes, controversial sexual orientation no. My children are lead to believe homosexuality is "normal" when it is not. Please remember children see these ads as well and it confuses their innocent little minds. God did not intend for women to be with women and men to be with men. In your future ads, please focus on the product you're selling and leave out the controversial issues that many feel are corrupting America. I have been a long-time customer of your store and will boycott until changes are made. Thank you for your understanding.
Hey Ron Johnson, how's that gay agenda thing working out for you?
Over the years I have very much enjoyed shopping at JCPenneys and the clothing they have to offer. From a clothing store I expect advertising regarding the product they are selling. Many in this country including myself do not think that the homosexual lifestyle is in children or adults best interest. We believe that the value of having both a mother and a father raising children is optimal. It is, of course, your choice to advertise as you see best. Your advertising is not going to attract my business anymore.
I am so disappointed in JCPenney. I am today, after years of shopping with them, closing my account and will not ever shop at their stores again. I was sick when I saw they supported the gay movement. I know one thing, that God will not bless over top of such blatant ain. It is hard to see America turn from the Biblical teaching and I fear for the future of our country. Why would anyone want to live without God?
I am appalled that the Corporation of J. C. Penny would go down this slippery road of depravity to please people whose minds are reprobates. This is one that is "a depraved, unprincipled, or wicked person. It is a person rejected by God and beyond hope of salvation. Morally depraved, bad." I know your ad makes the 2 men look like they are good fathers who love their children. This is far from the the truth. The fact is those 2 men are perverted, and they have no business with children. I feel so sorry for those children and all children who are in the care of people who are either homosexual or lesbian. The Bible calls this abomination. I will pray that J.C Penny will change it's stance on this moral issue in Jesus name!
Just plain awful!! I recently saw an ad promoting gay marriage between men in a JC Penny catalog. I just want to inform the corporate office that even though i have shopped at JC Penny for 20+ years, I will never step foot in a JC Penny's store again. What you are promoting is disgusting and above all an abomination to God (you know, the guy who created us in case we have forgotten). The American Family Association and all it's members are boycotting your company along with The Home Depot for promoting the same thing. Sorry that you will be losing my business along with 15 other members of my family. Hopefully your stock value will crash and you will re-think your intentions as a business that ironically was started by a christian man( James Cash Penny).
I will no longer be shopping at Penny's after your clear support for the gay agenda and the take down of the family by supporting gay unions. I will take back all purchases people make for me from your stores. I stopped our paper after they put two *gay" women on the front page as mothers of the year on Mother's Day! Please don't tell me I do not understand this new way of thinking. It is the modern way! That is the problem with this new modern world. You have lost your value system as a business.
I recently went into my local JCP store-it was practically empty. No one shopping. I am very disappointed with JCP, both in their decision to stop the email sales and the mail coupons. Last year I purchased quite a bit of furniture for our new beach house from JCP--always waiting for a weekend sale. No more! I, as many others, am also unhappy with some of their advertising policies. With things like they are in our country, I feel we need to uphold the family and morality--not lift up and idolize people who have chosen to live an "abominable" lifestyle. Just my feeling--I know it's a free country (thank God for that) and everyone is free to their own opinion. Also, everyone is free to choose the lifestyle they prefer--I just don't think we should uphold and life them up as a role model.
I have been a lifelong customer of JC Penney, but I was sickened by the 'gay' fathers in your catalogue. My heart is breaking for those two innocent children being raised by homosexual men. Now I learn that you have a lesbian as your spokesperson. Perhaps you have never read this, but it certainly applies: '...Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 'For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, ... 'For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 'and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 'And just as they did not see fit to ackowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind...' That is from the book of Romans in the Bible, Romans 1:25-28. If you skip to verse 32 you will find that JC Penney's policy fits right in here: '...although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practise such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.' You are giving hearty approval to homosexuality. Shame on you. My husband and I will no longer be shopping at your stores. I thank God that there are still stores out there which have not caved in to the homosexual lobby.
I am a straight 54 year old woman and my husband and I thought that the ad showing the 2 gay dads with their family was great. I will shop at JCP whenever I can. So few companies have taken a stand on this issue - families have evolved over the years and it is very refreshing to see a mainstream company support families of all kinds.
Your losing a family that shops for a college student and kids 11 & 13 and two adults for the last 15 yrs we have loved your store. I don't hate gays I love the person and hate sin. The Bible in Romans chapter 1 id's it as sin. Our forefathers build this nation on God and the Bible. I don't hate a drug attack but I don't support his habit. I have a right to discern right and wrong for myself. If I believe it is wrong I can not support it.
Any lifestyle where sexual gratification involves the human anatomy's equivalent of a sewer pipe is necessarily filthy and degrading. Bye-bye, Penney's- and bye-bye to your impossibly narrow aisles, crowded with racks which are in turn crowded with clothes to such an extent that shopping is downright difficult. Bye-bye to two checkout stations per store (if you come on a good day)... Hope you go under.... and bye-bye to Mr. Degeneres, that dapper fellow who will be your spokesman now.
Look, this homosexual junk has gone far enough. Come on, Ron Johnson! The loyal customers and shoppers of Penney's really don't want to see this sadistic crap. Has anyone ever told the homosexuals that their parts don't fit? It's not about civil rights. Gay people are NOT born that way! They choose to be that way and this is not a civil right. It's gross! Therefore, I will never shop at J.C. Penney again in my life. Stock is falling not because of revamping, it's falling because hard-working people who have stood by Penney's for years are leaving because when they open their mail box, they've got the most unnatural thing in the world looking them in the face - homosexuals! Good bye Penney's, I hardly knew thee.
Thank you for showing the two dads in your recent ad. I haven't seen one person observe the fact that there are two young children here, who may not have had the opportunity to grow up in a nuturing home enviroment without these two guys. It sounds like there are people out there whothink it would be better for children to grow up with no one to care for them opposed to two gay dads. There are so many children over seas who have been left for no one to ever love them. These two men are to be commended for the dedication in helping others. And for the bible thumpers, that too is a biblical concept!
I feel good making the decision to boycott/avoid/inform others to be liberated from doing any business with JCPennys. My money will not be used to flaunt homosexual life-styles in the USA. It will also be legal to carry a PROTEST SIGN on the city sidewalk or corner of any mall containing a JCPenny Store.
Hello, someone with no name placed a comment on 5/3/12 her comment starts with "I want Corp. to know" please scroll up to view the comment. I just came across this site today, as I started to read all comments this one hit home hard. I was let go from JCP corporate office back in April along with 599 other people. Everything this person posted is absolutely 100% truth. I worked at JCP for over 20 years and always received great performances reviews except for the last one, in fact in my mid year review, before Mr. Ron Johnson took his position with the company my boss had informed me that I was doing a great job. Once Mr. Johnson started with the company he started making RADICAL changes and my great historical performances went out the window. It was a set up to let people like me go my boss had previously mentioned to me on a couple of occasions I was making too much money for my position. Which I find it to be total BS, I had to remind my boss that I had been with the company over 20 plus years and if making a little over 40,000 a year is too much I guess she wanted me to live under a bridge. The truth is they let go many people like me go for greed reasons I personally feel discriminated in many ways. If there's a legal council that would like to hear more about this please post a note to the attention of NIcole . One more thing, the way they let us go after so many years of service they gathered all the 600 hundred people in a room gave us a 2 min. BS speech and say good bye. I witness many people getting sick and hyperventilating and they did not care they walked out of the room leaving many people sick we had to help one another out of the butcher house.
Well, congratulations you have just been added to the increasing list of corporations that are now kowtowing to the anti-family homosexual and pro leftist tiny minority. The once proud, family orientated department store and catalog sales company will go the way of the dinosaur. Watch as your sales suffer as Ford Motor co. did a couple of years back, when rather staying neutral on the homosexual agenda, they came out of the closet with disgusting and provocative adds promoting the tragic lifestyle of the gay and lesbian minority. Their about face based on tumbling sales during a national boycott may have been the only thing that saved them from government take over like their two American rivals. Yep I am considering again spending $40-$60 thousand for a new Ford Pickup but will never spend a single penny in your stores or order from your catalog. Way to go J.C. Pennys, all you had to do was "don't ask, don't tell" but you decided your silly political correctness was more important than the bottom line. I expect to see your doors close with in the next 3-5 years. Now I'm off to Walmart to buy a pair of jeans>
