The "little old ladies" at my Episcopal church in Southwest Florida are just as enthusiastic about JCPenney's COURAGE as my partner and I are. GOOD FOR YOU, JCPenney - for standing up to the Haters and sticking with a Winner in Ellen DeGeneres. Not only is Ellen an EXCELLENT spokesperson for your company, but she is viewed my MILLIONS as Wholesome, Kind, Faithful to Portia in marriage and Having an Incredible Generosity of Spirit. Indeed, in her own words, Ellen epitomizes "Honesty, Equality, Kindness, Compassion, Treating people the way anyone would want to be treated, and Helping those in need. In short, Ellen is a hero to this entire generation - teaching us how to be kind, patient, compassionate and generous with one another.
I used to love shopping at jcp and knew i was always getting a deal, esspecially with the 10 dollars off of 25 or more, now i dont shop near as much. if this coupon is brought back and a coupon is given once a month the store would see a huge turn around i think.
I have recently been made aware of the same-sex advertising campaign that JCPenney has decided to run. I have shopped at JCPenney for decades and do so for every member of my family. However, I will no longer shop there because of their decision to promote the homosexual lifestyle.
Thank you, JCPenney, for standing up for true American values - equality for all, regardless of race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation. I will be shopping at your stores even more. Thankfully, we are in the 21st century and all humans can be treated with dignity! Brava!!!!
I bought your athletic fit shirts for years, but no more. You want to shove that crap down our throats? Our famly will never step fot in your stores again.
Since you changed your stores, I have not been shopping there to much. I use to shop your store 2 to 3 times a week. Now it's only about once a month or so. your merchandise has gone way down hill. I was in there today to find some tee shirts for $20.00 they were like tissue paper and way to small even the Xlarge. I don't have a good feeling about your new store. and I have heard form my friends the samething.. why did you change your merchandiseing....
I will support JC Penney and encourage others to do so even more after reading the hateful reviews you have received regarding advertising featuring gay men and a gay spokeswoman. Kudos to you for supporting love in all forms and ignoring the hate these supposed "Christians" are spewing. Well done JC Penney.
Your customers are highly offended by the promotion of sodomite behavior and refuse to support it. We don't want our children exposed to immorality. Disgusting and shameful.
One ur new pricing sucks .... Instead of making us save more .. U want us to spend more. I truly think this will b jcpennys big mistake from changing the branding .., it terrible ^ it will not be Americas favorite store it will be Americas worst store ! GOoD LUcK
I am a former employee who worked for Jcpenney for four years in Houston, Texas. Two weeks ago I walked out on the job and have no regrets about it. The store manager at the memeorial city location is beyond horrible. He is so disrespectful and completly rude to his associates. He is big headed and so unprofessional. I feel sorry for the jcp company because its going DOWN. Believe it or not the prices are 100 percent better but the customer service is beyond sad. All of the great supervisors and some of the best associates were all fired and its so sad. Don't blame the associates because its only so much they can do when there is no help and the management don't care about anything but getting a sale and forcing and lying to people to open credit cards. I see jcpenney going out of business.
At first I felt that Ron Johnson just had an agenda with his overt "gay" theme with the gay dads and Ellen as a spokesperson. Maybe to get more gay shoppers. But now after reading a couple of Forbes articles I realize it is much more. He WANTS to lose us as shoppers. The shoppers that have been loyal for many years, he is thrilled to get rid of!!! He knows that the numbers are going to go down for some time, but he has the "money backing" of a stockholder that owns a majority stock of Penneys. Soooooo, it doesn't matter how many customers he loses, how many he pisses off and will never come back.To him, every time he reads an obituary, there goes a previous Penney's customer that I don't give a crap about and am so glad to get rid of. He thinks he can make Penneys into an Apple store. We'll see. But our dollars that we are MORE than glad to spend somewhere else, those businesses will welcome us with open arms and will laugh all the way to the bank. Ron Johnson, you cannot continue to lose money forever. Don't you realize that catalogue ad models are like mannequins,THEY DON"T HAVE A SEXUALITY!!!!!Oh and I know how many stores that Ron wantsto close also. All of the ones unless they are in a LARGE metro area. Lets see how well that works also. This is the poorest excuse for a business I have ever heard of.
I have been a loyal customer and JC Penney's card holder for around 20yrs. And I have to tell you I am very disappointed with the ability to purchase catalog items. For over a month I have attempted to purchase several pairs of Hagger Expandomatic pants in a Big & Tall size. The site continue to show the items in my requested size unavailable. Attempts to find out if they will ever be available have proven unseccessful.
I was an employee for jcp for a couple years in Niles, Ohio. Penneys is not to retaliate against former employees but when I resigned from the company I have not been treated with respect from the store manager or assistant store manager. The assistant store manager actually went to an associate and asked when I was starting at ----- (unnamed competative store) so I would quit coming in to jcp. The store manager actually had a message passed on to an associate telling her that if I came in to the store to tell me she could not talk because she was too busy. Well, hello, I am a customer and expect to be treated like one.
I have been a customer of JcPenney for 20 plus years but now due to you having Ellen D as your spokesperson my family and I will no longer shop in your stores. We do not support lesbianism /gays.
I was horrified to learn that you no longer carry Cabin Creek brand clothing. For many years that has been the only brand jeans that I wear. That was bad enough but now I have learned that you no longer carry the Underscore bra that I have depended on for the last 20 years. What can you possibly be thinking. True I am not young, I am 52 years old but I spend money on clothes just like the younger folks do. This is a betrayal pure and simple. I figure it is just a matter of time before JC Penney files bankruptcy and then goes out of business completely. By then I won't even care because you turned you back on me as your loyal customer for all these years and now I have no choice but to do the same to J C Penney. You no longer sell anything that I care to buy. Thanks for nothing.
This is ridiculous the amount of people complaining because we ,jcp, have Ellen as our "mascot". I don't understand why that matters. I'm glad your Christian but where in the bible does it say we can't be happy? Does it say anything about immigrants? Where in the bible does it say that we NEED to specifically marry the opposite sex. Sure Adam and Eve ok that's how we were all may and sure marriage is about man and woman having a child. So what if we can't have children there's plenty in foster homes and that are up for adoption. Why do you all if so Christian worry about just gays. There's plenty of problems out there. Why not worry about all the homeless on the street or children who have no homes. But instead want to ruin other peoples lives because they are gay. Let them be happy. If we were born this way we were born this way. It's not a life choice and if we are all gods children answer me this. If we are gods children and he knows gay is a sin why did he make us this way? Puzzling huh I support jcpenney all the way for supporting everyone in our country! P.s you'll be going to hell for making fun of gays. Making fun of is a sin.
Dear J.C. Penney, I am saddened about your stand on gays and your corruption of a store that once stood for the family. I have shopped at and supported your stores my entire life as have my family, but that ends today. I will close my account with your store and leave it closed until you change your values and realize that it is sinful to promote that life style. God’s word (not mine) is very clear about this. Leviticus 18:22 “Do not practice homosexuality; it is a detestable sin.” Romans 1:18-32 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 are just a few other references in God’s Word; the Bible, that pertain to homosexuality. We are NOT to hate the sinner but the sin. We will ALL answer, including you, to God , whether some people wish to acknowledge that or not. I am forwarding the e-mail about your poor decision to everyone I can and encouraging them to do the same, including closing their accounts with your store. I look forward to the day you examine your hearts and realize the path you are taking this country down; and step up and not bow to the pressure of ungodly influences. You should be ashamed of yourselves for giving in to this special interest group only in the hope of making more money.
I keep reading in publications like the WSJ about your company troubles. I have seen your attempts to change your imagine and marketing. I am just an ordinary person but I have an observation about why things might not be going as well for your comapany as in years past. Your clothes have gotten really ugly and loud (just come through the door of the store and see all the conflicting colors), The fabric is soooo much thinner than in the 80s and 90s and the patterns are too colorful and busy. Additionally all of your sizes have changed. Once upon a time I wore a medium in your store. Now a petit small is a tad too long. I have given birth four times and have put on about 10-15 lbs through my adult life - if anything my size should be larger. Making every thing so big does not help me. It actually hangs in a way that makes me look heavier than I am. For years I purchased about 75-80% of my clothes from you. That is no longer the case. Women who shop with you do not attend NY Fashion week. We are real women who need real clothes - good fitting jeans, comfortablbe well made t-shirts, attractive work clothes that are understated and pretty, a decent bathing suit, etc. You really should take a look around your own store through our eyes ... it is becoming a 70s disco in there full of loud patterns, colors ... nothing goes together anymore. If I am not shopping there for me, chances are I am not shopping there for my family either. In fact we had 3 pairs of jean purchased from you for our teenager break in the exact same spot by the belt. It would be nice if you could sew it strong enough so I don't have to. And don't get me strated with trying to purchase furnature from you. About 2 years ago we had to cancel an order because you contract with a shipping agent that lives cities away and only delievers when it suits them. After weeks of waiting a
Thank you for standing up to One Million Moms who have better to do with their time..I really love the extra ad in May with the female couple. Although I know the support is simply a sign of the times and common sense to try and get/keep business. I know that this would not have occured in the past. I myslef usually like JC Penny BUT your plus size clothes are lame. Just become my backside is above 12 doesn't mean I want a polyester shapless shirt. I actuallt like shapley things, just in a larger size...
Started to order my husband work clothes from your store online as I have done often in the past; however I too decided to exercise my freedom of choice and decided not to give your store my business....
