Being a current JCP employee now of 3 years I believe that the change is for the best. If people would sit down one great day and compare the pricing themselves they would understand the change of pricing. No 24.97 and you have to spend 3 cents just to get 10$ off. No more gimmicks. No more hassle. You're everyday price is that price YEAR ROUND. Your monthly value is a discounted price for that entire month. So of course if you come in June for a pair of shorts that are monthly value at 12$ and you come back in July for the same pair they're gonna be higher. And the gay thing so what. If you shelter your kids from it they'll lean towards it more. And being a Christian "following gods words" less than 10% of "christians" do such. So cut the crap people. Get your panties out your butt. GO JCP! GO R.J (Ron Johnson)! FYI cancelling your JCP card is hurting you more than JCP. Just saying. :)
JC Penny was my favorite on-line clothing retailer until recently. News Reports blame a loss of sales on their new advertising campaign or their new "every-day pricing." I don't know what's costing them sales at the store level, but on-line sales have to be suffering from the fact that THE MAJORITY of items posted for sale are NOT in stock. For example: Do a search for dresses. Specify a style, size, etc. to reduce the chance of including selections which may be out of stock only in SOME sizes or colors. Scan through the 400+ options and see how many of them show ALL available sizes and colors grayed out. Hover over these grayed out sizes/colors, and a message OUT OF STOCK will emerge. I've done this several FRUSTRATING times, with several different items over the course of several weeks. The results are always the same. I prefer to shop on-line, rather than in-store. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
I would rate you "way below zero" but you don't have it on your scale. Over my lifetime JCP has been my first choice in shopping but I gladly step away from the perversions you promote...homosexuality and same sex marriage. I do not hate you or these people but all of you are dead wrong! You will ruin this company which was founded by a Christian. I will never shop with you and I'm closing my account with you. The so called 'Love" people on this site are blind to truth and what love truly is. God allows us to make choices and if someone wants to have a gay lifestyle, go on and do it, just don't rub it in my face. God's Word says He hates it (New Testament and Old Testament)and who are you to try and change it. I don't go around advertising my sexual preferences and I certainly don't have to take part in your sick promotions!
How can we trust anything you say when you are violating the Word of God by endorsing homosexuality and same sex marriage? Goodbye
I was a very loyal customer until the new marketing concept took effect. As an accountant I understand what you were trying to accomplish, however, as a consumer I resent the "magazine" you mail me periodically advertising your everyday prices. Ninety percent of "magazine" is pictures and ten percent is product. I see so much money wasted on something I don't even open anymore. Your new marketing plan is making the advertising companies profitable but you have lost my business as a result of it. I have no interest in your regular prices when I can get the same quality at a sales price at Kohls or Macys. Now I hear that you are going to have a major layoff of employees to make the stores more profitable. You have missed the mark again. You could increase your profit margins by first firing whomever was responsible for these marketing campaign and get back to selling quality goods in a price competitive market.
I love the sinner but hate the sin. JC Penny's lost me as a customer (I have 9 children) for promoting sinful behavior. In the end, we face either heaven or hell. Both are eternal. You should rethink your position on this. I will continue to pray for lost souls.

to get a 20% gain is advertise sunday,Wednesday, and Friday with a colored circular in all the newspapers in all the towns that we have stores in. That will get the sales rolling. Sales and marketins manager in Seattle area. Retired, Douglas Linde, ask Don Rudd, Robert Karr,Floyd Blanney. Put all the no.1's in these ads and watch the sales fly!!
I HOPE THIS GETS TO RON JOHNSON. THIS IS FROM DOUGLAS lINDE AGAIN. FOR A 20% GAIN ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TRY THIS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME AS WE ARE GOING INTO THE BEST SEASON OF THE YEAR. RUN COLORED CIRCULARS IN EVERY NEWSPAPER 3 DAYS A WEEK, SUNDAY,WEDNEDAY,AND FRIDAY. PUT OUR BEST SELLING ITEMS ON SALE AND WATCH THE SALES FLY. ALSO LOWER THE INTERST RATE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME FROM 27% TO 20% SO THAT THE MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLE THAT USED TO SHOP IN OUR STORES CAN AFORD TO COME BACK. I GARUTEE A 20% SAKES GAIN AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY ME 20 MILLION DOLLARS TO MAKE SALES WITH JCPENNEY. WE HAVE THE MERCHANDISE ALREADY TO DO THIS PLAN. THEN IF YOU WANT TO GO BACK TO YOUR EXPERIMENT YOU CAN. OUR STOCK WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS SALES GAIN ALSO.CALL FLOYD Mckay, Jim Magnuson, SOME OF THE RETIRED PEOPLE IN THE OLD REGIN 5.
I will not be shopping at JC Penney anymore. I cannot support a company that fires hardworking employees because they need to save money after slashing prices. I also cannot support a company that treats the remaining employees like filthy garbage. Good luck surviving your millions in losses.
I have been a shopper at JC Penney's for all of my life but I will no longer be shopping there nor will my family. I do not approve of the homosexual lifestyle and I am tired of JC Penney's putting it in my face all the time with making Ellen Degeneres their advertising spokesperson to the adds for Mother's day and Father's day and all their other advertisements. Its not even about the clothing or other items they sell any more it is just the promotion of the homosexual lifestyle! Sad to see what use to be a good store going down this road. I will not be setting foot in your store again as others of already stated!
Your store sucks---you let go hard working employees that are loyal to your company--300 yesterday 7-10-12 i will never shop at you store ever again!
As a current, yet hope to be ex-employee, I'm a tad irritated at this company. First of all, I was selected to be one of many unfortunate employees to put the new "everyday low price" stickers on dang near all merchandise in the store. That simply was stupid idea number one. Secondly, I was sad to find out that I couldn't move up in the company no matter how hard I tried. Had poor, if not the biggest Duesch bag chick as a "manager". U can't manage from the office, don't tell me to do something that u cant do yourself, and don't let the only communication between yor employees be you coming down on them. Get a life and dress like a professional, not a prostitute. Next, Ellen degeneres=beginning of the jcp titanic hitting the iceberg of retail death. Next pushing the gay agenda, really?! I'd question the legitimacy of Ron Johnson's marriage, maybe he's gay and his wife is too. You never know. Threatening to cut our hours if we don't get people to sign up for jcpenney credit cards?! An one meeting we were told the district manager said "we will not discuss credit again." meaning something threatening if we didn't force people to sign up for the most highly interst rated card on the freaking planet. Trying to tell me to sell more when we're trained to be "trusted friends trying to help a friend" is against your "integrity" initiative. Also if u want me to sell more, put more people in the store by stopping this everyday predictable bull crap pricing structure and go back to the way it was! Next, stop getting sued please. Hudson and Broad needs to sue jcp so bad that Ron Johnson can't feel safe, even in jail. Yeah, btw, jcp is getting sued for 40million for breach of contract on a fixture deal with Hudson and Broad. And giving an exec 12$million just to come from another store, just to screw us and leave?! Oh and he also made $100,000 a month salary. No wonder why employees are pissed and leaving. No one shops, but "management" is so brainwashed it's pathetic. Need I say more? Can't wait to leave that ship before I get caught drowning without a lifeboat.
I would like to pass on a compliment about one of your employees in the Adventura Florida JC Penny. Her name is Georgia and she was working in the ladies department. I took my Aunt shopping for undergarmets and sleep wear. My Aunt is physically and mentally challenged. Your employee Georgia went way out of her way to gave my Aunt the patients and care while helping us find the correct size we needed and proper waist band we needed. While your other employees wouldn't even give us the time of day. On my next trip to Florida I will take my Aunt shopping to the Adventura Mall JC Penny and ask for Georgia.
Kudos for your June jcp catalog! Everything about the catalog was excellent: cover, photos, language in print on each page, merchandise, and especially the diversity of people throughout the catalog. Your company is a class act! Keep raising the bar for all of us!
I would like to express my gratitude to JCP. I have a recent promotion and I value the training from the Manassas and now the Springfield store. Since working for JCP for only a few months I was reconized as an associate of the month award. My Store Manager, Assistant, now in Manassas, Repleshment Lead and Supervisor has helped me greatly, not to mention the rest of the Management team. I have had at least 6 years in retail and find working for JCP to be Superior. I would like to thank everyone who is a team player for this company. I am looking forward to what this company will become.
all you freaking god hypocrites can go to hell
So, all the research that I can find, at many sources, supports that the Gay population is somewhere between 1.7% to 4%. Why would JCPenny not realize that the market you should be advertising to is the heterosexual family. Your ad campaign is supportive of one facet of our population, and as some of the others have stated, if that is your target group, good for you. I think you will find it difficult to be the profiting org. that you want to be on 1.7% - 4% of the population shopping with you. Way to go new CEO, Brainchild from Target and Apple. I would like to see all that equality that everyone keeps talking about, see all colors and families, not just gay dads and lesbian mothers. And you call the rest of us racists,so how's this working for you? Not too good! No hate speech here, just common sense. Too bad JCPenney doesn't have of that. Won't be shopping at your store.
I used to work for JC Penney and loved the service we gave the customer. It was a fun place to work and the customers looked forward to our giving them some needed help. A while back I went into JCP and couldn't find a worker anywhere. After finding someone, I was very upset that she had no clue what I needed, nor did she act like she cared. If this is where JCP is headed, I have to say they are in big trouble. When shopping, we rely on the workers to help us.....they get paid out of the money we bring into the store. All of the experts have been forced to retire, or had their hours cut and that opens the doors for the workers who really don't care about anything but getting the pay check. Shame on JCP for putting the customers last and the company first. I won't be using my JCP credit card anymore. I am ripping it up and dusting off another one I have. This has nothing to do with the gay issue, it has to do with the lack of caring for the customer and screwing the good workers who made the company what it WAS. Goodbye JCP....Mr Penney is no longer resting in peace.
I was reading our financial page in the newspaper today about Penneys. Your stores are a landmark, institution for all shoppers of many years gone by. Why don't you build or lease or buy and start up mini-stores in small towns like ours. Bartow,Fl. has no department store, town of 16,000 or so, county seat, etc. I believe it would be supported. I am so tired of "big box stores". I wish for the kind where you pull up to the curb and park your vehicle, run into the store for shopping. James Cash Penney made a good living with that kind of store. You just might be surprised. Pay attention, Ron Johnson,CEO. Are you listening to the middle class?
