Third generation Penney customer, I will not continue... Shopped the Davenpport Iowa store on Sunday , no help on floor, when I found someone they tell me "I have no idea where it is ," didn't offer to find product or get me to someone who could. I asked what was going on that the products are all over the place, she said it is by brand name not sizes. How stupid is that? Ever sence I was little (59 now) mygrandparents took me school shopping at Penneys, I have followed suit with my grandchildren (oldest 16, youngest 12) To my heart break I will go somewhere else. Your big change has bitten you in the butt. Gals at Church and work feel the same and I feel sorry for your company now. Regards from a former very loyal shopper.

First of all I am filing a complaint with JC Penney concerning the optical dept at the Macon Ga store. They are very rude and also when I called about a sorry pair of glasses we purchased there the manager was so rude and refused to give me a refund. Also since I and my family refuse to buy from JCP anymore I guess my complaint won't matter to you. As far as the homosexual/gay promotions.... I will definitly not be shopping there again. As a christian speaking...it is wrong, a sin, immoral and just plain sad! This world and this country has no morals anymore. REad the bibile and see what it says about your stance on gay rights! Its sad to see such a good company do such as this just to please all life styles. Well it doesnt make it right and you are in the end going to lose a lot of business and JCP will not be blessed by God as long as you continue down this path of destruction. I hope and pray you see you are wrong!

Well I'm one of those long-time demographic "frumpy moms". I spend a good deal of my money at your store. Well let me rephrase.....I use to spend a good deal of my money at your store. Sad, that you criticize the people that make J C Penney a much shopped store. Let see discontinue coupons....sales go down. I wonder what's going to happen with this new concept. I can't find much anymore to recommend shopping at Penneys.

I work for JCPenney's and I feel very sad that the very rich will"get rid of cashiers. Many are older women who are struggling to make ends meet. Does JCPenney care? The morale in our store is really bad right now. Does Mr. Fair and Square care it doesn't appear so. How many more will have to go on welfare, lose their homes, not be able to feed their family before anybody talks about the inhumanity to the people who are losing their jobs. I see human being not just "cashiers". Will anyone give us a job? Probably not. Since it affects mostly women is this sex discrimination?

I have always loved JC Penny, but as a Christian I can not and WILL not support your views on pro-homosexual lifestyles, therefore, I am cutting up my Penny's card and will not buy from your store again. As Christians, we love the sinner but hate the sin but SHAME ON YOU for promoting something that is wrong. Remember, these unions do not produce continuing family members that have purchasing power.

I too feel so sad, and am very, very discouraged in your promotion on same gender relationships. We are a society that is quickly falling into a pagan world view. Without the true God of this world, we are doomed. I will not be a consumer at J.C. Penney's anymore. I am sure that the founder James Cash Penney would not be in agreement with this "new direction" J.C. Penney's had taken. Please rethink this and turn back to the true value's of the Bible and God's plan for marriage.

I cannot belive Mr. Johnson is getting rid of the cash registers and cashiers. He is definitely targeting the under 40 group and leaving out the rest of us. This will definitely be the end of Penney's. I have shopped at Penney's my entire life but guess when this happens, Penney's will be history. I am also a stockholder, which sickens me as I watch the stock drop on a daily basis. Also, I was sickened by the ads that had gay people in them. Penney's was founded on principals, and I'm sure Mr. Penney has turned over in his grave.

I would really like to see some more Made in America tags on the clothing sold in your stores. Everyone knows that some discount retailers buy their stock from manufacturers who have taken our jobs offshore and who rely on China or Jordan or Malaysia workers (making pennies for their labor), but at least those discount retailers do not charge such high prices. But when I see blouses and skirts and slacks that are priced very high, and they bear a tag showing that they were made in some foreign country, I regard that as a slap in the face of the American workers! THAT is what the American consumer is really sick of.

Who was the Einstein who came up with the ideal about not having sales? And now the same idiot wants to get rid of cashiers!!! If I got to stand there and scan my merchandise myself then JC Penny's just lost a customer. Sometimes change is good but these changes were bad! bad! And the clothes are cheaply made!!! I really don't care who you have for promoting your store but it seems like once you started using homosexuals the store started going down hill and it won't stop until it hits the bottom. I have paid out my credit card with your store and will no longer shop there. And not because of who you have to promote your store but because the clothes are again cheaply made in the women's department there is nothing but black, grey or navy and you don't sell the Jones of New York clothing line and Worthington or whatever its called is the worst clothes line you have in the store!! Every July, my wife and I go to Penney's to get our back to school clothing. We are both teachers. I went in last Saturday and was shocked to see what the store had become. July use to be a time when most clothing items were reduced to make room for the fall line. There were no real sales and there was about half the amount of clothing that had been there a year ago. Workers that I have dealt with for 20 years have been let go, one lady that sold me a lot of jewelry over the years was terminated after working 23 years for the company and being only 1 year away from retirement. That day I wanted to buy five pair of dress slacks, St. John's Bay slacks were on sale for $18. Sizes ranged from 28" waist to 42". I wear a 44". I asked the boy working the men's dept if they had my size and he took me to where my size was located; but the price was $30. I walked out and probably will not return to the store. If running Penney's business into the ground is the goal of the J C Penney's corporate board, I would say 2013 may just be the year for that!

JCP, I want you to know that when you started with Ellen DeGeneres my wife and I sold ALL of our stock (just in time) and destroyed our cards that we've had for over 28 years!! Now you made your sales and your stocks worse by pushing your homosexual/same sex marriage ads. Keep up what your doing and you will be out of business in less than 1 to 2 years unless you think there are enough gay and lesibans to support your stores!

This is to inform JC Penny that we will no longer shop at any of your stores or affiliates. Yes God is love, but as stated in Malachi 3:6, "I, the Lord do not change." God does not condone homosexuality. He loves all of them and wants them to change and follow Him. A corporation supporting something that goes totally against the Bible is an affront to the Lord himself. I am sorry you think you have to put your money to such a cause and not to sick children or people with cancer. I pray you will repent and turn from doing wrong. Sad to see another old retialer hit the wall because of pitiful short sited Management! But in away it's good for me since all my wifes other favorite stores are much closer, and I'm pleased to hear she'll not step into a J.C.Pennies again. Halaluya !

Lots of responses from narrow minded, bible thumping idiots on here. Give JCP a chance. Change is hard and doesn't happen over night. As for the Gay and lesbian ads - it's life. Deal with it or stay out of the stores. When things are going well for JCP and their plan is completed, make sure you don't show up on their doorstep. As for getting rid of the sales clerks you are insane. They will not be getting rid of the clerks. You WILL have the option of checking yourself out or going to a cashier. The cashiers will no longer be tethered to the cash registers. (because people can't stand in a line for more than 10 seconds without getting irate) The sales associates will be on the floor with iPads available to assist. Will some lose their jobs? maybe. I really doubt they will eliminate everyone. Use your brain people. Think for yourselves for a change. One negative ad I read in the newspaper referred to the CEO as Don Johnson. He must really know his stuff. Maybe his job should be eliminated. I don't need to read false information. Just because you see things in print doesn't mean they are automatically true.

since the new guy has taken over i have noticed as a customer the moral of the employees has changed. they are no longer smiling all the time, if i see any of the same employees that have always been there. i use to come in the store all the time, get my kids school clothes there, since the new guy, i have bought two things in 1 year. now today i read you are cutting out the "live" cashiers..seriously. I am paying off my penneys card and opening a Kohls card. I am no longer shopping at penneys. you really screwed up hiring that new guy. If you have to sacrifice people to make a buck for someone, if greed is more important. I am not going to help you do it. Your forgetting, the money has to come from somewhere. I guess your new guy did'nt think that far ahead did he?

if jc penny puts in self checkouts i will not shop in the store anymore, and i will encourage others not to either. it's bad enough we are loosing jobs overseas because companies do not want to employee people in the united states. when will it end until , when will some company stand up and do what's right.
