Until your Company rids itself of your current CEO and returns to Family values, I won't spend another dime with you. Hoping you go broke soon! Have a nice day!
J C Penney exist because it was allowed to prosper in a Nation that was founded on Biblical principles of government, law, free enterprise and morals. As an attorney I know how to see issues through the eyes of both parties and I understand why gays want to treated equal and be allowed to marry...they want to be told that their lifestyle is acceptable and does not create any dangers to our society. The vast majority of Americans (from all religious groups and even those that are not religious) recognize the moral, health and economic dangers of such a stance and are opposed to it. In my opinion, supporting gay marriage is taking a stance that will aid in the destruction our nation and aid in the collapse of the family unit. I am ashamed that U.S. companies like JC Penney, Amazon, Microsoft and others make use of their position of power (power gained from taking advantage of the American traditions of Biblical morality and free enterprise) to take aim at the very values that gave them the opportunity to grow successful businesses. Simply put: JC Penney supports gays and gay marriage, I cannot support JC Penney.
Sodomy is illegal in most states and for very good reasons. Reasons that our forefathers knew and understood (and that was long before AIDS). Since JC Penney supports gay "rights" and gay "marriage", I cannot support JC Penney and can no longer make purchases from them. It is a shame that JC Penney takes their position as an old and successful business and uses that influence to help destroy the very values that gave them their opportunity. Good bye JC Penney...I loved your clothes but will not help you destroy the home of my kids and grandkids!
Well J c Penny along with Target Stores, has lost me as a customer. If all stores go along with this way of thinking that gays and Lesbians are okay in our society and to be in their ads, I will never shop in their stores, even if I have to refrain from buying anything and grow my own food raise my own sheep for making n spinning my own clothes, I will go back to the old way of surviving.
We have shopped at Pennys for many years and we are sorry that it has ended. Stick to selling merchandise and stop shoving your pro homosexual views on your loyal customers.
I am sorry but it is not JcPenney who is sick for promoting homosexuality, but those of you who are ignorant that everyone has the same rights! It's people like you that make me sick, not what JcPenney is doing. Grow up people we are all gods children no matter what race, size, or sexual preference we are! Those of you who are complaining you are disgusting!
WOW, I'm amazed at the ignorance I have witness in reading these reviews !! Those of you that are using the Bible or your "so called" christian views to boycott JCP, If I recall there are several things mentioned in the Bible that we are sins and that we are not supposed to do, that everyone does everyday. Also, if you're intolerance of the gay lifestyle is preventing you from spending your money at a clothing store, then perhaps you best just stay home, most likely everywhere you shop, eat, travel, going to the movies, and yes even sports, you name it, you are going to be encountering gay people or products that were created by gay people, whether you know it or not. For all you christian women, if you recall, there was a time when you weren't allowed to work outside the home, vote, you were expected to stay home and make babies but you fought for equality and won, don't other people deserve that sane right ? GROW UP PEOPLE !!!!!!
I work for jcp and i dont like the new pricing, best price or the fact i get little to no hours a week. Jcp will never be america favorite store.
I have been a long-time customer since my mother used to bring me shopping as a child. I am now in my 60's and have, for the first time, become disenchanted.... First, with your new pricing campaign, and then, you slammed us with your pro-gay agenda. My credit card account is closed and I no longer will shop at JC Penny. Dear Mr. Penny must be rolling in his grave!
I RETIRED FROM PENNEYS AFTER 30 YEARS AND I KNOW THAAT MR PENNEY IS PROBABLY ROLLING OVER IN HIS GRAVE RIGHT NOW FOR WHAT IS GOING ON . I DON'T KNOW WHO THIS JOHNSON GUY IS BUT HE SHOULD GO BACK TO APPLE HE IS RUINING JCP. I REALLY BELIEVE THAT JCP WILL NOT BE AROUND IN A YEARA. THIS GUY MUST BE RELATION TO OBAMA. I KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO FEEL THE SAME AS I DO ABOUT THIS CHANGE. I ordered $675.68 window shades from your sandusky, ohio store . we had to order one shade on 7/9. we were never notified by phone or mail that the shade was had arrived at the store for pick-up. upon calling to check i was warned that if the shade wad not picked up in three days it would be sent back . how is that for customer service? no "how may we help you" Just "those are our rules" with an attitude such as the store i was dealing with, i will no longer be shopping at jcpenney.
I USED to be a faithful JCPenney shopper & always read your newspaper ads and used coupons often to get exceptional value. Your stores were always busy & cashiers courteous and helpful. With your new CEO,in 6 months you have destroyed your image, with scant advertising & no coupons. Hopefully before Penney's sinks, you will get your act together and return to your previous merchandising. Sad what has happened.
I have been a lifelong support of JCPenney. I have loved shopping there and spent a lot of money. I will no longer support JCPenney in light of their support of homosexuality. I cannot in good conscience support any company who promotes the destruction of families and society.
How immature, pigheaded, and selfish can people be to say that it sickens then for two people of the same gender to be shown on tv? Who cares about the genders, how would you feel if you were in love with someone and you were constantly judged and told you cant be with them?If you are so against it,you have never been in love. This is the 21st century, so either grow up or gtfo. We dont need people like that poisioning our youth, we don't need you deciding their future. Seriously, this is America. If we cant accept equality for /all/ then you are making America no better than even the worst pos country out there. How dare you. We might as well go back to slavery.
Mr penny founded his company to get money. Gay, lesbo, transgender, transexual, doesnt matter. If they have money, they have and will shop there. Dont want to shop with gays? Then you cant shop ANYWHERE. Good luck with your no tolerance
I have been a loyal customer of JC Penny's since I was old enough to shop on my own. My parents, 1 man and 1 woman, no test tube or man made methods involved in my conception, and the father who adopted all shopped at JC Penny's, so, I thought it good enough for me as well. Now, none of us, including my family now in marriage, also between 1 woman and 1 man with our own children who also chose hetorosexual monogomous relationships are being told that our business is no longer wanted at your stores. In some ways it is disheartening, andunfair that we aren't welcomed there if we choose to follow our Lord and Savior. It also summons a strong disdain for such hypocritical behavior on your behalf. Still, it is very heartfelt to enjoy standing firm in Christian beliefs and values. It seems that only the homosexual customers have rights and they are your preferred customer. Spitting at Jesus Christ and His believers was nothing to your company. You speak of people having rights, just not the people who chose to try as best they can to adhere to their beliefs. Rather you would have them just not shop at your store no matter how much of our money you sure didn't seem to mind bringing your stortes the success you have enjoyed from the onstart. You could have said that we too have the right to feel as we do. That it is commendable to have such strong beliefs and thank us for the years and years of support, and ask the public to understand that your company was not taking a side and welcomed all customers, but instead you chose to take a side and make it clear that beliefs and values of the Christian Faith are no longer welcome at your stores. That is the part that made it so easy to want to keep away from your stores. The evilness of your speakers to condemn those who have a right to their beliefs for the very reasons your company complains of is at least hypocritical.
I read with interest your strategic planning regarding sales. I'm no rocket scientist but there are ten women in my office who will readily tell you one of the biggest reasons they went to JC Penney was when they received their ten dollar off coupon in the mail. None of us are motivated to go now, and have many other choices for our wardrobe dollar like Kohls, etc. Usually we would go and spend much more than the ten dollars sent to us. Thanks and good luck.
Regarding value shopping: Every woman shopper likes good value, but what is good value? As a shopper, I don't feel the pricing is good value because you advertised it is good value. Beyond value, I want to know that I am getting what I want at less then than regular pricing. Women do not like coupons, but use them because they can buy what they want at a lesser price then if they didn't have a coupon. Ideally, shoppers want to shop when it is convenient for them, and buy what they want "on sale" without messing with paper coupons. Shoppers know too when regular pricing is manipulated to look like a sale. Bottom line. Price goods at a value price and then offer 15-20% off on certain days. Offer, another 10% off if they use the JC Penny card. Clearance racks will allow additional discounts. To make it more interesting, each week/month all purchases received an additional discount. Why wouldn't I shop there? That's why I shop at Ross stores. I know, the item is already 30-40% off retail and if I shop on senior Tuesday, I get an additional 15% off. Guess which days I shop at Ross? Of course, Penny's is not a discount store, but that kind of pricing will draw in the customers. No coupons. No price signage change needed. BTW, trying to favor certain shoppers because of their lifestyle is a big mistake. Don't even go there. All shoppers like feeling like they got a bargain. My multi millionaire friend shops at Big Lots...I'm not kidding.
One reason I left JCPenney to do my shopping elsewhere was because JCP abandoned plus size and women's sizes for the teeny-bopper set. Slowly but surely, my choices were so limited that I had to go elsewhere. I could not understand this decision to cater to teenagers when the Baby Boomers were such a large segment of the population. I ended up shopping on-line with other stores that had flattering sizes for older women and plus-size women. I just read that JCPenney is going to revamp their sales, but it is the selection of clothes that determines what I purchase, both at the store and on-line. If you put more emphasis on styles that I like, and not low-riding jeans, halter tops and the like, I would gladly return. I am a professional woman in her 60s and the styles that currently grace your catalogs are not appropriate for a woman my age. Thanks.
(I will address only what I know-- misses clothing). Big problem created at mfg. Level--the unit block buyers are forced to purchase for jcpenny to sell at retail does not work. 75o/o of American women are sz 12-14 why do mfg sell units that do not match clearly seen demand? That's why clothing sales are not as high as could be. For instance-- with a pocket full of money I come home without finding my size -- only seeing the beautiful garments on rack unsold because there are no shoppers to match the leftover sizes. If jcpenny was able to purchase units of garments in sizes that would match demographic statistic size groups--wow--profits would soar. I don't care about everyone having the same garment as I wear. Copy is the best form of flattery. If you want only yourself having the garment-sew yourself or have it custom made. I want more common size to buy. Can't the highly paid CEO figure out how to change the equation and force mfg. To correct old thinking.
