what happened
I've been a JC Penney cardholder for 26 years. I recently found out my account has been closed due to inactivity. I must admit I don't use my card often, once or twice a year, mostly christmas and birthdays. When I called to inquire about the closing I was told everyone is being reviewed now and I should use my card at least once a quarter to remain open. After 26 years, 7 months of no use means JC Penney no longer wants me as a customer. Wow.
Good Prices
This is not a review, but a suggestion. My son, aged 21 went to JC Penney's in San Antonio. He came home and said "Mom, I bought so much stuff. Their prices are great." I think you might want to market to this age group. Many of them shop online, but if you can get them into your store, they WILL be back for more.
Looks like the boycott by AFA and One Million Moms is probably doing the most damage. JCP should rid themselves of Johnson and Degeneres. Those two are killing a good store, just look at stock prices.
We miss the old JCP!
I used to buy so many clothes at JCP. I'm "plus size" and they had a good selection and nice trendy styles, even for my age (55). I could always count on coming out with a bag full of nice stuff!! Now the asiles are emply where there used to be tables of products, big open spaces with no mechandise, just a few racks with a few items on them. Terrible selection. Nothing age appropriate unless you're 12. Cheap looking stuff. The last 3 times I went there I came out with nothing. I have money to spend and nothing to buy! Your new marketing strategy did not work, please go back to the way is was, before you go bankrupt! JCP is a waste of my time now, I won't be going back. I'll try Macy's.
Losing Money
The sales staff is in part responsible for the loss. I like the pricing - it is simple and no coupons to worry about. However, the store personnel in Houston's Memorial City lost my business ($200 + in fine jewelry) because they refused to take customers in order of the line. I complained - the store manager wouldn't even come out of his office to listen to me - to a sales clerk who said too bad! NO MORE! I can shop anywhere - they don't want my business, they won't get it!
Girls plus 7-16 department
I do not like the way you combined the girls 7-16 plus with the girls 7-16 regular. It makes it more difficult to find the plus size we are looking for. It is even more difficult to find the size since there is a very limited selection of plus sizes clothes!! What has happened to your awesome girls 7-16 plus department you use to have?
terrible quality and no customer service in the stores
I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER OF J C PENNY FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND IT HAS GONE TO THE BOTTOM OF OF AWFUL SERVICE. I HAVE BEEN IN THE ARCADIA , CA STORE , VICTORIA GARDENS, MONTEBELLO, AND NOW IIN LAS VEGAS. I WOULD APPRECIATE NOT GETING YOUR CATALOGE AS I ONLY TEAR OFF MY ADDRESS AND TRASH IT. THE CLOTHES AND SHOES ARE AWFUL . I WILL BE TAKING MY BUSINESS TO DILLARDS AND MACYS. I THINK WHO EVER HIRED THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF SALES SHOULD LOOK INTO A NEW LINE OF WORK.

I really wish someone would take a second look at the toddler boy department, the selection is a lot to be desired it is all shoved in the corner and the girl selection is huge.You know not everyone has girls some of us have boys too. Please take a closer look at this.
I was at my local JCP yesterday. I was standing in line to return an online order. I went over the entire order and everything was ordered correct on paper but they still sent the wrong sizes. Why would I expect anything different from this company? Anyway, while I was waiting in line the two customers ahead of me had those $10 coupons errrrrrr gifts in hand. I noted the first woman purchased $11 worth of clearance items (you could hear the sales girl talking) and with the coupon she only paid $1.00! The next woman had a couple of summer shirts that added up to $10 and with her coupon .... errrr gift she ended up paying nothing? So, now you had two customers who spent exactly $1.00 and I returned something ( wrong size ) for a refund of $38.00. Out of a total of three customers JCPenney lost a total of $37.00. It's no wonder the company stock keeps falling. I can't imagine how you people are staying in business. You used to have a great customer base who spent lots of money and now you have customers like the two women ( I mentioned ) who want something for nothing. And, I FOR ONE, will never order another thing from your online catalog again. When someone clicks on size large and it's marked on the slip LARGE there's no reason for it to show up in size small.
I know you have put on a new face in your stores,however your sales have been down. When you had coupons in the paper your store was jammed the check out counter was a mile long. what is that telling you. Go back to the way you were,so we can shop whenever we want. Get a better buyer for your misses clothes they are ancient looking. Increase your petite dept. very small assortment. Looking forward to those coupons.
I was laid off from jcpenney the end of may. I live in central ny. My feelings are still hurt. I don't understand why me. I was a better worker then most of the ones that weren't. Maybe the managers or what ever they are called now didn't notice which ones they were like i did. I can't beleive they are still there so i hear from the grape vine. I haven't been in that store since. And they call us family. Bye the way, I don't care who reads this.
jcpenneys and most people nowadays have no morals they say stupid things like shove your bible and GOD doesnt exist. jcpenney panders to homos which most people are not!! disgusting!!!!!! ron johnson and all homos that dont get saved will burn in hell forever. dont believe me continue on in sin and you will find out when you die.

We know where to go to shop for chic, but it's not at JC P! JC P has been a staple store forever, with regular everyday work and casual clothes.That is where the business is.Stupid move to take away clearance and tell us what fair is for pricing. JC P you still have another 20-30 years of faithful old timers that will shop there! ( I am 49) . Like the song says....."Baby Comeback!"
POOR BUSINESS DECISION
JC PENNEY needs to reverse their current business trend. My wife and I have both stopped shopping there. There new sales ideas are just not a good move. Their dropping of St John's Bay products is a bad move as well. ALL your customers looked forward to getting your flyers and dicsount announcements. IF You don't chaneg back soon , I'm afraid you will never be able to get back the customers who leaving your business. GET rid of YOUR CEO and go back to the old store ideas.

I agree w/ hang up ;they do not want to hear anything negative about there products! Recently purchased a Rumerous watch, after wearing it a few days ,my wrist was itching ;took off the watch my wrist was blisterd . I loked at the back side of watch {made in china} stainless steel back/ wrong--- ! I am allergictoo ..nickel/ the chinese are lying about whats in products they sending us.T alked with corperate office , told them I will no longer be buying anything from JC Penney ever again. Infact anything made in China ,Iwill leave on the shelf.
I'm so frustrated with this company it gets a (negative star), not to mention the many issues and complaints. Normally I would NOT waste time posting a comment, but I will take the time to warn others not to waste their time; or money your end result will be disappointment. The service from catalog, credit and customer sevice is HORRIBLE! I will NEVER do business with this establishment AGAIN!!!!!!!
