It took me 10 minutes to wade through all the ridiculous voice responses before I actually got a real person. This person was difficult to communicate with, seemed bored and just did not respond to my concerns. Problem with mixed up credit numbers and payments remains to be seen. I have shopped at Penney's for over 45 years and I am done! Catalog WAS great - stores are poorly laid out, clerks difficult to locate and often unfriendly, and it is hard to shop and awful selections. I am cutting up my cards!

JCP downward slide

I have been a cardholder for many years. Just read article on MSN and have to say everyone seems to have answer except new guy in charge. For me, not having catalog convenience and great sales in stores, keeps me away. I went to store in Staten Island, NY last week looking for after holiday sales and walked out. (with $15 birthday coupon in my pocket)

I see on the net that JCPenny sales were down about 30% for Christmas 2012 . Idea instead of focusing on all the new styles and so on and the young buyes why not try being a bit old school and revive the truely desired items people want to purchase . and bring back your catologe. have lots of ideas if you care to listen.

Catolog

Very BAD service! Ordered item 12/30/12. It has taken 11days to get any info on my item. Just found out item is in after calling 5 deferent numbers. I have NOT received any notice from JCP. I'm very disappointed with JCP! They used to be a good co. I will never shop there again!!

Christmas button campaign

The 2012 Christmas Button campaign is a fraud. I entered my code and was told I would receive an email to retrieve my prize. It never came. I emailed them before 12/31/12 (deadline) and told them I never received an email telling me what I won. I just got an email from them today stating it's past the 12/31/12 deadline and there is nothing I can do. They never responded to my emails before 12/31. It is a crock!!

James Cash Penney is rolling over in his grave, as well as my Father who DEVOTED 35 years of his life to what was a fine corporation. WHAT has happened to the board? Are a bunch of crazy people in control?

New Salon Hours--Stink

I have been a salon patron for several years. Now that a new CEO has come aboard new operating hours are being made. I used to get my hair done at 8:00 A.M. which was very convenient. Now I have to wait until 10:00 A.M. when the store opens. This is very troublesome. I don't like it! If I wasn't happy with my stylist, I would certainly go somewhere else. Also, there customer service stinks! I was in the Sephora Department and a sales associate (who was Caucasian) helped me with my selection. After proceeding with her to the counter to pay for my selection, she proceeded to lay my selection down and ring up another customer who was a Caucasian and told me that that lady was next in line, which was untrue, because she would not have been helping me but instead ringing up the other customer. Long story short, after complaining to several managers, I was sent a $25.00 gift card. I spent $54.00. I will not shop in JCP any more.

Big and Tall Clothing selection

I want to tell JCP that one thing I apprecaite and the store is doing good in is having big and tall sizes for men. I am an unusal size and fit perfectly in XLT shirts. My neck size is 20 but any dress shirts with a size 20 neck are then too big in the shoulders and it looks like I have a tent on. I really appreciated that JCP had the big and tall size that I fit into, bought about $1000 worth of shirts that fit for my new job and promotion. Not only did JCP have their brand of XLT shirts (St Johns Bay) but also included IZOD which was also a pleasant change of pace. I also see that VanHussen and Arrow had XLT shirts that I bought!) I truely appreciate the big and tall shirt selection and hope now to buy summer shirts when they become in stock.

Bad communication/service

I placed an order on 12/22/12, today is 1/5/13 and my order can not be found. I had to be the one to call to find out if my order was in. I was told it was and I wasted time and gas to come to your Cutleridge store, just to find out that they can't find my order. Supposedly a supervisor went to find the order and he called over the radio to tell me that the order was lost enroute to the store. I did not receive a courtesy call from anyone about what happened and that is very bad customer service. I spoke to Raul and Joanna whine are both managers. I will never purchase from your company again and will spread the word to friends and family.

Disappointed in Salon

My visited with the Memphis store 2703 was a joke.My visit took four hours. I was ok with service once completed. During my visit i was told by the Salon manager that i had THE BEST stylist Jcpenney had to offer. I thought that was so inappropriate for her to make comment. There were other stylist in salon and one i enjoyed watching. She seemed fast and great. Also the salon manager was not very knowledgeable with products and how they work. How can Jcpenney have a Salon ran in this manner?

Sorry to see JCP go!

Whoever is leading JCP is heading in the wrong direction. Just look at your stores and lack of customers! One of my main issues is the idea of each little "store within as store" playing their own music! It is just crazy! No matter who I make a comment to in the store, they agrees with me - including the poor clerks who have to listen to it all day! It is just too much and such awful music! Just look around the stores. Most shoppers are middle age or older (I often feel like I am shopping in Florida with all the oldtimers-that's ok) yet they do not play "our" music. In fact, I said something to a young girl that was shopping and she said "this is not my music either". What are you thinking? May I recommend you get new management!

Shop with you no more

I have been a JCP shopper for many, many years especially from your catalogs. Now you have discontinued many brands that I depended upon and I cannot find things I used to purchase, either in the store or from a catalog. Your ads feature young, thin people. I am neither. I cannot get out to my local store like I used to do. The last time I was in the Lodi ,CA. store, the merchandise was very limited and I did not see "sale" prices. I have several relatives who are finding similar issues with the new, improved JCP. We are now driven to go to Kohl's, Sears, Target and other stores for reasonably priced items. I am very sad that such a wonderful store has come to this. I will be surprised if you survive.

Special Education Teacher

On Wednesday December 26th, 2012, I went shopping with my sister-in-law at the Southbridge Mall in Mason City, IA. Iam writing regarding an exceptional employee that deserves to be recognized. I went in wanting to exchange a hoody (for a larger size) that my husband received as a gift. There was no more in stock in the Mason City store, but this particular employee wanted to do everything in her power to help me. There was a lady in training who began assisting the other employee, whose name was Deborah. The employee in training assisted Deborah locate stores around the area to see if the particular hoody was in other stores. The new employee called the closest store that stated that they had it (according to the computer). Long story short, Deborah took over...and from start to finish assisted me for about 45 minutes (from searching on the computer and remaining on hold--from the other JC Penney, to see if the item that the computer stated they had in stock). Although, after waiting that time, the hoody was not in the other store; however, i wanted to commend Deborah for EXCEPTIONAL service. She went way above and beyond what the average employee does. She displayed a very caring heart and an attitude of genuinely wanting to help the customer! Thank you again Deborah in the JC Penney in Mason City, IA.

Love Ellen but not JCP

JCP...step back and take a breath. You have an awesome spokesperson (Ellen) but no advertisement flair. Bring back the coupons and don't make me figure out which day of the month is best for me to get the best deal.....just give it to me!! My day is already full of guessing...I have teenagers. You've heard of the saying "Oldies but Goodies?" Don't try to go so retro and weird. What you had before was unmatchable.

Marketing Department

I wanted to let you know I think the button idea for marketing this year was a hit. I've seen so many people wearing these buttons and the kids love them too. My son takes mine once I've logged them in. I do have a concern about these. I wanted to let you know I won $10.00 off one and was tickled and it worked because I'm a huge coupon addict and I went in and used te coupon. I'm not a jcpenny shopper per say but this drew me back in. I went to a store at Castleon Mall, Indianapolis and I used my coupon and received two more buttons at the jewelry counter. I am sorry to say when I went to log these in they had already been used. I think you should come up with some way that the item needs scratched off to get the code so everyone is not using them and still handing them out. I had a friend tell me they saw some teenagers going through a bag of them and redeeming these and then throwing them back in the box. You had a great marketing idea and I just think you need to take this one step further or have more cautious employees. When I received the used buttons, the lady acted funny when she gave these to me. I 've worked in marketing and I'm over 42 buildings. I just wanted to help you out and keep this a positive marketing venture for all. Thanks for listening and good luck. Dianna Jones.

HORRIBLE

I ordered a 200 dollar ring about a month ago and when I received it in the mail there was no receipt and a stone was missing. I called JC Penney to find out what to do and was told to go to the nearest store and so I did. From there they had to look me up because there was no receipt and GUESS WHAT...they couldnt pull up any info on the order under my name, address, e-mail, phone number, nothing at all..meanwhile the bank can even verify the purchase. JC Penney wont accept any statements from the bank as proof of the purchase!!!!! WTH!!! I called corporate last week and left a message and was promised to be called back within one business day...still no phone call. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. do NOT shop here.

Unbelievable

I used to enjoy shopping at JCP, but not anymore. Their ads used to be fun, the employees friendly and we at least felt like we were getting bargains. Now the ads are un-inviting, the employees are spread so thin they don't have time to be friendly, and I go to Academy or Sears because of their advertising.

I bought gift cards for years at jcpennies. After buying the card I decided to shop on line . After trying to exchange the card I was told their were no exchanges on gif cards.... If this amount is not refunded to me your company lost a customer indefinitely

Downhill Spiral

jcp re-vamp sucks. Too many people miss the door buster sales on Saturday morning, me included. Got some great deals. Now, they've become arrogant. This new CEO "says" he wants to hear from you, but when I replied......... get the picture; nothing. I recently went shopping in Vernon Hills, IL for the holidays and one table said $8 that had shirts & jeans for my granddaughter. I was charged $18 for the jeans and when I questioned it, the floor manager just said, look at the price tag, it says $18 & walked away. Needless to say, jcp will not receive any more of my Christmas money! Johnson is blind.
