Great experience. Room was clean and very spacious. The continental breakfast was the best I have ever had. The help was courteous and friendly. A wonderful experience.
Outragous Incidentials/Disabled not welcome with service anilmals
Booked thru travelocity for the first time. Selected sercet 3 star location. Holiday Inn Express in richardson is what poped up. At first glance the hotels appears to look nice and fancey. Once thru the lobby is a whole other story. Upon arrival I was confronted by Managment and staff the need for me to pay a 150 cleaning for my service anilmal. And expressed the need for documentiton. I cleared stated my rights under LAw. Called the corporate office and made them aware of the problem. With in Minutes they resolved the problem. By then I was already made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Just last month went through the same thing at another one of your location in Dallas. Your company needs to know the laws and the proper way to address disabled people. Just becasue ya'll don't see an eldery person or someone with a cane doen't mean thay aren't disabled.
Katie
My Uncle George, of Quincy, IL, passed away Tuesday. The family is getting together for his services. I called your Holiday Inn East of Quincy and talked Katie. I told her why my family needed two room reservations. She never said, "I'm sorry for your loss." or "Well, let me see if I can make the visit easier for your family." Nothing! She put me on hold about three times during our conversation. I didn't understand the reasoning behind that. She never asked if I had AAA or was I a member of your hotel chain. Later, I found out there is a "brievement" rate for situations such as ours. Please have Katie attend a senitivity class or be trained in how to take care of guests that are already hurting. Thanks! 2-21-13
thievery
I got charged for smoking in a room a i did not smoke in.. I smoked in my car and my clothes likely smelled. very upset.
internet overcharge
I cancelled a stay at a holiday inn in Thailand. Get this-they were going to charge over $20 an hour for internet. For what they want for the rooms, there should be free wifi for crying out loud! rip off joint! STAY AWAY!!!!!
I stayed at Bridgeport CT on Feb 4/ Receptionist in the evening was very pleasant. Cookies were a nice touch. Elevator malfunctioned and alarm rang and no one came until another guest happened to come by and open the door. Room is very nice. TV has the most complex and poorly designed remote I have ever experienced. Gym is modern but, despite brochure to the contrary, no stationary bike. When TV would not work in exercise room (at 5:30 a.m.) I called on Hotel phone. I was advised that someone would come right up. No one did. I like the location, teh rooms, the parking arrangement but the hotel could use alot of work on what you may think are minor things. I will stay there again because convenience trumps everything else but i would not otherwise do so. Thanks
Baltimore stadium express
Stayed on Monday night due to father having surgery nearby. Was impress with room, hospitably of staff and shuttle service that night back and forth to hospital. So...we decided to stay again that weekend when we came to visit dad.needless to say, we are not impressed as we were on Monday night. Got shuttled to VA hospital on sat and when I called to get picked up no one came for 2 hrs and then they told ME to call a taxi and they would pay for it.Really folks. I don't know Baltimore let alone a taxi to call. They finally came got me after my sister complained. So here it is Sunday and we took the 8 am shuttle over to VA Hospital and driver informed us there wouldn't be any problems today. ha that was a lie! I just called over at 1:15 to get on 2pm pick up and they informed me that the shuttle isn't running till 3 pm due to cruises. What the H is cruisers.and the guy lied earlier. I am so done with this place. Won't be staying here anymore since they promise stuff they can't deliver.
Terrible first night with no heat. Second night, got bedbug bites. Charged? Yes. Never stay here.
holiday inn conditions
Parking lot had only 20 spaces for cars. Had to park in a parking garage across the street. Not very safe. Bath tub was very unsafe when taking a shower. Nothing on bottom of tub to stop you from slipping. Rugs in bedroom were dirty. A lot of noise in the hallways late at night.
Complaint
I will NEVER again stay in a Holiday Inn property. I received a phone call from the Holiday Inn West property in Amarillo, Texas. They stated I had left a blouse behind on my stay with them and would I like for them to send it to me. I said yes. They said they would send it out the next day. Verified my address...ect. Have a good day! The next day I received a phone call from the UPS store in Amarillo stating I owed them $17.94 for an item that was dropped off t be mailed to me. They had already put it in a high priority box, addressed it to me and it was ALREADY on it's way. When I called the Holiday Inn about this, the Manager laughed at me and said..."Well, you didn't expect US to pay for something YOU left behind did you?" Horrible customer service!!! I didn't have the issue with me paying for it...I DO have an issue that NO ONE told me up front that it would cost me and then to laugh like an idiot when asked about why they didn't tell me the day before.
Poor Customer Service
I will never utilize this chain again. The customer service provided is terrible, employees attempt to push you off to every other department/ person and their guarantee is non-existent. Do yourself a favor and select a hotel which actually provides an ounce of customer service and which employs integrity and advertises accurately.
CHEAP BASTARDS
I cancelled my reservation, the CSR did not do a proper cancellation and I am paying for a room I did not use, I tried all avenues to get a refund, THEY REFUSE, I will NEVER use holiday inn again
Great Stay
I just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed my stay at your property in Huntsville, AL (Holiday Inn Downtown). I was a long term guest at the downtown location from October 9, 2012 thru January 05, 2013. In particular, Quincy was very professional and very helpful. He always pointed me in the right direction in terms of things to do in Huntsville, AL. In addition, I was a first time business traveler to Huntsville, AL and the staff at this property could not have been any nicer to me during my stay. As a long term guest I developed friendly relationships with your staff and their levels of professionalism never waned. The front desk staff of Quincy, Todd, Vanessa, Aaron, Brandon, David, Joe, Lawrence, Julie, and all others at the front desk were friendly, professional, and always greeted me and others with a friendly smile and greeting. They conducted themselves as sort of concierges by offering suggestions for entertainment, dining, etc. I credit your front desk staff with helping to make my stay in Huntsville, AL most enjoyable. The Lofton’s restaurant staff of Ayanna, Amir, Robin, Chyna, Mark, Larry, and others were super friendly and very helpful. Chyna was super friendly and very enthusiastic as she went about her business. My room was on the Executive Floor (4th floor) and the staff on that floor were amazingly friendly. Carlos is the best. He always had something funny to say and was very helpful to me and all of the guests on that floor. I will never forget his friendly service and disposition. The person providing the breakfast on the 4th floor was very friendly and helpful as well. The housekeeping staff was very thorough and friendly and my room and the hotel were always clean and well kept. The bar personnel of Michael, William, and others were very friendly and helpful as well. The aforementioned hotel staff are the ideal type of people who should represent the city of Huntsville, AL as well as your great hotel. Kudos to all of your staff at the Downtown Huntsville, AL Holiday Inn, the quality of your hotel, and the quality of service rendered by the hotel staff.…………….Greg C

More than helpful
Last Saturday December 29th my daughter and her boyfriend were driving back from Detroit. Their automobile became disabled due to flying debra on the Ohio Turnpike. They were towed to Holiday Inn Express in Newton Falls Ohio. I cannot say enough good things about the manager on duty His name was Mike Layshock. He was kind and extremely helpful to my daugher and her boyfriend and made the entire ordeal very comfortable. I wanted to thank him by reporting his extreme helpfulness
Holiday Inn has bad customer support
Holiday Inn express Amarillo West charged me $145 for a room which I didn't use. My wife called from the road late at night to check on room availability. Unfortunately she gave her Credit Card number to reserved the room and forgot to tell the representative that we had a dog. Big mistake, An hour later I went to check in and found that the dog was not allowed. I tried to cancel and was told the cancellation charge was the full room rate. The person at the desk was extremely rude and obnoxious and at that point I told him I would dispute it with my credit card company. He later told me we could have the dog in our room for $50 which would have made the room $195 for 6hours since it was 1:00AM and we would be leaving at 7:00AM I was so upset at that point I just left and found another room at a Best Western. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again as long as I live.
unfortunate guest
The Airport Holiday Inn at Denver CO needs to be avoided. Had to go to 4 different rooms before I found one that both doors would lock. Management was aware of the issue, was not concerned. One of the rooms smelled of smoke. This Hotel is unlike the others I have stayed in, not recently remodeled, old tub and fixtures. Holiday inn felt this was acceptable but offered me a $31.00 refund. "Are they Kidding?" i told them to keep the $31.00 and put it towards locks for their hotel room doors.
I have been a priority club member since 2007 I pay for on average 50 nights per year some of these stays are ten rooms at a time twice a year I have not redeamed any points ever. I never take vacations and my wife and three year old have Planned a trip to sea world in Texas over thanksgiving. After 8 years and more than ten thousand dollars I have enough points for three nights in Waco Texas. In a big city not even two nights. Time for new loyalty to a new hotel that understands loyalty
I left my ipad in the bedside table at the Holiday Inn Express in Durant Oklahoma the weekend of October 26-27, 2012. I did not realize that I had not packed it in my luggage until I arrived back home in Austin Tx late that Sunday night after I unpacked. I put the ipad in the bedside table the same night we checked in(Friday)after reading before we went to bed and did not take out anymore. So it could have been taken that Saturday or Sunday. I called the hotel that same night and was told that nothing could be done until the housekeeping staff came in the next morning. I asked to speak to the manager but was told she would not be in until 3:00 the next day. I then asked if someone could just go up to the room (327) to get it but was told that the room had already be rented and it was against policy to do that. She also said that the housekeeping staff checks for items left then locks them in a safe that can only be opened the following day by the manager. If thats the case then someone in housekeeping had to find my ipad or they didnt check the nightstand and the people who rented the room after us took it. I asked if she could call the people in the room inquiring about my ipad as was told that was against policy too. I left my my name and phone number for the manager to call me. After no one called the next day(Monday) I called after 3:00 and spoked to the manager. She said she had received the message, they had not found an ipad. She said that the rooms are checked when vacated and checked again when housekeeping cleans the room. I have checked with the Apple store here in Austin to do a "ping" search for it. It did not ping anywhere which means it is not on or the battery is down. We did a "remote" lock on it so it can't be turned on now. I just want my ipad back as it cost $600.00, has personal information, and family pictures. Please let know what can be done about this. I am very disappointed as I've always stayed at Holiday Inns around the country and never, ever had any bad experiences. My girlfiends and I enjoyed our stay at the Durant Oklahoma Holiday Inn and I was going to write a very good review until this happened! The policy on checking for lost or left items needs to be changed as I was only gone from the hotel about 8-9 hours and I have had to call at lease 3 times. No one had had the courtesy to call me. Today, I called and asked to speak to the GM and was told that he would not be in until Monday. Again I left my name and phone. I am very unhappy!
I recently spent a night or Nightmare in a Holiday Inn in Spring, Texas. The hotel was not busy or overbooked as that might have been a good excuse for bad customer service. The Rep who handled our check out was more than rude as I observed, to more than just me and my two children. I asked for a manager and had a business card pushed at me. When I contacted the manager he could only tell me how great that employee was and how many people like her and a small condolence at the end of the call. Guest Relations simply sent a message back to the same manager. He never returned my call. In follow up the last Guest Relations person was, at best, no help. I have stayed at Holiday Inn for years faithfully. I guess its time to find a Marriott. I will share my experiece with all of my 16,000 co-workers and more.
