To paraphrase Charles Dickens - It was the best of inns, it was the worst of inns. On a recent trip we stayed a night at the Holiday Inn West Memphis. The stay was everything we expected with a quiet comfortable room, a good bed, a free breakfast buffet and all the amenities you would expect in a Holiday Inn. Our experience at the Holiday Inn Birmingham-Airport was just the opposite. For six dollars more we got a noisy room with a shower that drained very slowly so that you were standing in water. The bed slumped at the edge from a broken spring. There was no Kleenex and the in-room coffee pot was missing. When I checked in I asked for a room on a lower floor and the clerk had given us a 2nd floor room. The manager walked over and changed it without an explanation to the 5th floor. She never even looked at me. In Memphis the buffet was free and we also ate dinner there the night before, but in Birmingham they wanted $5 and no one was eating there. It was hard to believe that these two establishments were under the same corporate management.

I booked thru aol travel (and you NEVER) want to do that. The room I picked defaulted to holiday inn and not the Tuscan inn Best Western ( great hotel if anyone-is lookiing for a great hotel at Fisherman's Wharf) in San Francisco. This hotel is centrally located and has more amenities for free. Aol travel ended up defaulting my reservation to the Holiday Inn and when I tried to change it back they were all rude and said no, it was my fault. Aol called the Holiday Inn and the manager was also rude and said no. We had just checked in-watch yourself if you decide to book with aol travel--terrible, terrible customer service along with holiday inn. At Aol you are talking to India unless you specifically ask for someone in the United States. Holiday inn on Columbus Ave in San Francisco has rats running around in their above ground parking lot at night. Be careful if you are out there at night. I called the front desk and they said they would send somebody out to look. It never happened. I told the front desk and they said they did not know they had a RAT problem. Hy said they have n exterminator on a regular basis that does the inside. They need the RATS gone--DISGUSTING. We will never stay at this hotel again. SCAREY

We have been staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Eugene, Oregon this past football season for all the night home games. When It looked like the Oregon football team may be playing for the first PAC 12 championship, I called to book our usual 2 rooms. I was informed that they were requiring a 2 night stay and increased the room rates from $177.65 per night to $269.00 per night. I was informed that the other hotels and motels in Eugene were following the same practice. I checked and the majority were not and were not raising rates to the same increase level that Holiday Inn was. You may consider this a smart business practice but I consider this with the same ethics as ticket scalping for ball games. Next year we will find a different hotel/motel that treats it's returning customers with some loyalty respect. Goodby Holiday Inn Express.

Never, Never, Never stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Elizabeth City, NC. The customers service is horrible and was unwilling to accomadate me during my time grief. The corporate manager Rhett was horrible and unwilling to work with me as well. I understand that companies have policies but uncircumstances do occur and death is something uncontrolled. The Holiday Inn Express does not stand for good values or morals. I will never stay at a Hotel with these type of qualities.

i recently booked a room at holiday Inn almaty kazakhstan its my secound time staying at that location nothing so specail from the first time nice staff warm until my secound day when i had the worst cold i ever got i truly thought am dieing thank to the wounderfull staff Mahumood and Nattaily i realy felt am srounded by family it realy gave me comfort and peace when i realy needed for sure am staying with them again and again this time i'll wear somthing haver hoilday inn thanks for staffing such wounderfull pepole

Our room was comfortable and the staff friendly and accommodating. My one complaint is the lack of available and easily accessible receptacles. There were exactly two receptacles in which to recharge 2 cell phones and 2 computers. Just 2 spots as there was a lamp plugged into one of the outlets leaving one receptacle there and the lamp itself had one port. Holiday Inn really needs to get up to speed as do other hotels. I don't want to have to crawl around on the floor trying to move heavy furniture to see if there's another available spot for charging something. The room didn't even have enough receptacles to accommodate the furnishings as there was a floor lamp that had no place in which to plug it. The coffee pot had to be carried into the bathroom to make coffee. Really? You can do better than that!

I called your Holiday Inn Gateway Center at Flint MI, Off Hill Rd 232-5300 and a lady by the name of MaryLou answered the phone, I had a few questions regarding a saty for our family reunion and she was very rude and even had the nerve to ask me why I had so many questions. I also asked to speak with someone else because of her nasty demeanor and she said no-one else was available. Whomever this MaryLou person is I suggest you fire her before you business goes down because I do plan on telling my friends and family not to stay there. Marylou was unprofessional and grossy uncoopoerative whoever caused her to have a bad day was not my fault she definately did not leave me with a want to stay at your location. Holiday INN Flint, MI on Gateway Center Drive Marylou is a horrible customer service representative she's needs a severe attitude adjustment.

We recently stayed in a Holiday Inn Express in Paso Robles, CA. The facilities were quite nice but I strongly object in the price structure. On week nights the rate was $163 for double occupancy. However, on the weekends starting with Friday night, the hotel raised that rate to $241.95. The managements explanation was that most all hotels in the town were full, so they felt they should nearly double the rates. I call this commercial blackmail. I won't be staying at any of their hotels in the future.

My motel room is my home you would not disrespect some ones or go out of your way to do that or lie to them in there home or even a guest at your own hone how long would your guest stay and should he be ask to fix that trouble life .Is to short for that . All over the dollar plan facts. eazy way to put this they try to blow smoke up my ass not buying at. FrankBell # 530-824-2230 Thank you

I stayed at Holiday inn in Santo Domingo the rooms where nice but no cream or sugar for coffie The restarunt did not have what was on the menu When ask for something they bring something different Very slow and for breakfast my wife went down to get breakfast and was going to bring me a plate and they would not let here I will not stay at this hotel anymore it should be a good experince not bad

I stay a lot of different hotels and like staying at Holiday Inn but would like to have a bigger work area in the rooms. The desk's in some of these rooms don't work very well, I would also like to see more outlets for pluging in my computer and cell phone. Most of the time I have to pull the desk out and unplug something else to have enough plugin for my electronics. Over all I like staying at Holiday Inn

i was going to stay in your hotel in matamoros mexico but that hotel is run by the drug cartel i thought by staying in a well known usa hotel it would be safe but i was wrong you should visit this hotel and make it a U S A hotel again

To whom it may concern, I am stationed at Ft. Bragg NC, Fayetteville NC and my parents are coming for a visit. My parents locked in a rate of $85.99 a night for 6 days, I called to get a military discount and the quoted me at $94, I don't know what kind of military discount that is but that is SORRY!!! I have been a priority club gold member since 2006 and am very angry with the way I was treated because of an error I supposedly made when I made an over night reservation in Harrisburg, Va using priority points. Instead I was billed for the stay. I only found out about this after receiving my Chase statement. I called member services and was told that the billing was correct because of a check mark I made when the reservation was made. Why would I want to pay for a stay If I had over 76,000 points to use for free stays. I spoke to three reps, with the final one a manager named Clark #228. Your customer service leaves a lot to be desired. At this point I don't feel that I'll stay at your hotels or recommend any one else to.

Good afternoon: My wife and I booked an "accessible suite" as she is in a wheelchair at the Holiday Inn & Suites at 111 Cooper Street, Ottawa, Canada for October 24, 2011. Upon arrival the desk clerk confirmed our reservation and that the room was accessible. This was not the case. The washroom door was not even wide enough for her wheelchair causing me to have to lift her to the washroom. I complained at the desk to no avail. We did not have the time to stop and pursue the complaint as we were attending the Writer's Fest. This morning I again made a complaint to another clerk at the reception desk and did not even receive an apology. We travel fairly extensively and this is the first time I have ever received such an uncaring attitude towards us and our situation. I sincerely hope some sort of corrective action will be taken in future at this location. The location and the building itself is situated in a great location and we would like to return there but not if this is the treatment we can expect! Thanking you in advance for your attention in this matter, Bruce Burnett

On Thursday night 10/20/11 I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn in Schenectady, NY at 100 Nott Terrace. I feel that you may be interested in the the over all condition of this hotel, for it certainly does not live up to the usual standard of the Holiday Inns I have stayed in in the past. I am a priority club member and use the Holiday Inn for travel and for week end get aways. This particular hotel is run down and dirty. The hot tub had black grime all around it and contained gravel on the bottom. We immediately got out and had to shower. I, for one, always choose a hotel with a hot tub to help relieve my arthritis pain when I travel. Once it was pointed out to management they had to close it for maintainance. According to maintainance, it is cleaned only every 2 weeks and the temp is maintained at 100 degrees. The carpeting in the hall was filthy and black, so much so that the pattern was almost unidentifiable. The pool had a large hole in the bottom that looked about 1 inch deep. After being on the road all day, we decided to stay in and eat in the hotel restraunt. I ordered the special of the day, a roasted chicken. On the first cut of the meat a stream of bright red blood flowed onto my plate. Luckily I am a nurse and could stand the sight! The waitress agreed that it was totally unacceptable and offered me another choice. The hamburger that took its place was equally raw and bright red throughout. With a total loss of appetite, we left the restraunt without eating. The staff at the desk was very polite and professional and agreed to take $50.00 off of our total bill. We cancelled our reservation and stayed at a Best Western that was lovely and very clean. I feel that there should be some corrective action taken in regards to the general condition of this hotel, a place that I would never use again. I also feel that I should be reimbursed for my most unpleasant stay or offered another nights stay in a different Holiday Inn. Thank you, Lynette Grandits 4204 Sheridan Dr. Williamsville, NY 14221

I use to use this company for housing my military soldiers. The establishment in chester, va 1911 w hundred rd chester, va 23836. Amanda a clerk there gave me the run around and was very rude. When I asked for Corporates nubmer she gave me the 1800 for general reserveation number. Connie actually gave me 770-604-2000. The issue is that I booked rooms over the phone with Amanda for 4 soldiers. 2 males nad 2 females double rooms. After I booked the rooms I faxed over the authorization form and received two confirmation nubmers for the rooms. I go online to check my rooms and I notice a third charge. When I called about it Amanda told me that someone called two days later and booked a room under one of the females name, she went on to tell me that the SOldier checked into the room. I knew this was impossible because the female was out for medical reasons, but since it was a double room there was nothing to cancel. when I asked for a copy of the id to show who checked in and or the name of the person that called back to make a reservation under my card she had no clue. Then when I requested the third reservation nubmer she could not provide it either. Needless to say I am still going back and form with the establishment and the Manager JoeAnn is suppose to call me back. They say someone has tried to reach me but there is no voice mail. Yesterday they asked for the SOldier's number who the room was booked for to contact her and they never did. I will never ever use this establishment as a government vendor again.

To whom it may concern: I stayed three weeks ago at Holiday Inn Costa Rica, Escazu (29th sept). I am a very, very unsatisfied costumer the problem was NOT in my experience as a guest there, the nightmare came afterwards. I understand that when you check in a hotel you leave a credit card number for them to block a certain amount as a safety deposit. When you check-out the hotel has to free that amount from your credit card, if not it shows up as a frozen amount on your balance. Well, the hotels never toke off the amount and to the day it is still frozen, even though I’ve called them 4 times and written to them 3. I talked to the manager, Marlon Vizcaino, and he had the worst attitude. This type of inaptitude is not accepted. I need my money to be unfrozen ASAP. Please help.

I am writing to tell you of an incident that occured at the Holiday Inn & Suites on 2720 N.Glenstone, Springfield, MO 65803. We had checked in the evening of October 8, 2011. We were very tired from a long day of driving. My husband and I (we are in our late 70's) went to bed about 10pm and were asleep, when at 10:30 there was a man trying to break in our door. He kicked and pounded the door and kept saying let me in, let me in. This continued for about 10 minutes and we told him there was no one there but the two of us. The banging continued and we called the front desk and they said they would send up security. It seemed like hours before they got there because we were afraid he would break down the door. I had to call them twice. They came up and took him away and let him go. No police, nothing. I called the police department and they said we should have dialed 911 and they made a report We could not sleep the rest of the night. My husband has heart problems and I was very fearful that he would have a heart attack trying to hold the door shut. The hotel never apologized or told us that evening what happened to the man. The next morning the manager told us he was escorted out of the hotel. We always stay at Holiday Inns and have for the 54 years of our married life but this really scared us. We were up on the 5th floor and not a soul around.

My wife and I recently attended a wedding in the Mesa, AZ area and booked a package deal with an airline company and the Holiday Inn at 1600 South Countryclub Road, Mesa AZ about three weeks earlier for a three night stay. We arrived late in the evening of the first night. When checking in, the clerk said that we had no reservations. After about 25 minuets of fiddeling with the computer she gave us a room on the second floor. The room as it turned out was a wheel-chair accessible room with no bathtub (shower only), no counter space in the bathroom to set toiletries, and no place to unpack suitcases. The room was cold , so I turned the heat up slightly, resulting in a burning stench from the H/AC setting off the fire alarm in the room. The next morning I reported this to front desk and was given a room on the sixth floor. After breakfast my wife and I went to look at the room. I inserted the keycard, opened the door to see a naked man in bed and a female brushing her teeth at the sink! Oops! Back to the front desk we go. We go back to the handicapped wait another hour and a half for the front desk people to come up with another room. The new room was "OK" quite small with a few wires hanging from the ceiling where the smoke detector used to be. Three other things of note. The front desk couldn't break a fifty dollar bill, their shuttel bus didn't go to the airport and the vending machines didn't work. The whole experience was not customer friendly and I nor anyone I know will never stay at a Holiday Inn again.
