I will rate 1 star because there is no option for 0 star. I made a reservation with your Holiday Inn, Odessa, TX. When I arrived with my conformation I was informed that they had already given my room to someone else. The reason it was given was because I had the same priority Club number as another person and the room was given to her. I asked to speak to the Manager but was refused and told I needed to contact the Priority Club people to see why I had the same P C #. I did and they told me no one else had my number. Here is the part of the story that is UNBELIEVEABLE: This Holiday Inn Charged my CC for the room. When I inquired why they said I didnot cancel my room. I told them they said I didn't have a room. They said will it was charged to your CC#but the person whom they rented the room to, I do not know. I have requested at least twice that my CC be credited for this and it has fallen on deaf ears. What a Shotty way to do business and steal from people.
I asked that my room not be entered. It has on a number of occassions been entered and when I ask for a report from the front desk they say they will get it for me. So far they have promised me four times to let me know who entered the room. The last time Mr. Brad Clohan said he would have a report for me tomorrow. If I don't get it on the 6th February, Is it time to report it to the police?
Stayed at HI Express Seattle, leaving 1/22/12. Left my cell phone there, called from SeaTac Airport. "We'll Fed Ex it." Sat. 1/28/12 no phone. We call: "Credit card doesn't work" so we give new card and new number. Fri. 2/3/12 no phone. I call Seattle: "Sorry, Fed Ex was closed and I was off two days." My phones still at the hotel and I'm trying to arrange to have someone pick it up and send it to me since it appears to be a low priority for the folks in Seattle.
I had a very pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Hattiesburg, MS. However, I found it disturbing that the night desk clerk was allowed to park under the front entrance awning. How inconvenient for the customers. The car blocked half of the drive through making the customers line up single file to load and unload. Most businesses require their employees to park away from the entrances and feel this desk clerk should also. NOT very professional.
I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Albuquerque, NM Eubank/I-40 location (1/28/2012). What a mistake that was. Upon arrival the items I requested were not put in the room. The phones did not work and the carpet was soaked. The hotel refused to refund my room fee because I booked the room on-line. The best they could do was move me to a different room. I was not impressed with the rooms or the staff. I will not be booking any future stays with any Holiday Inns. Lesson learned.
I have to say I was so excited to be plannig my freinds wedding. She choice the Holiday Inn. OK no problems. So We thought! Every thing we wanted we were told NO that is all wrong. You NEED to do it this way. " I have seen many weddings where they do it this way". Well everyone is different not all weddings are the same duuuh. It was a tight room to start with and we already knew how many people were coming. Everything we did the banquet manger Nadin kept changing it (behind our backs). She was NEVER there when we were there. We would come in to a totally knew room. Weird aren't we the ones she should be working for not the other way around. It took six hours to set up the room with out her help, and on the DAY of the wedding we walked in to it CHANGED but once more. REALLY! I had freinds and family coming in and it was to late. We had to deal with it.Even the Dj said we just have to deal with it now and try to make it nice. After I told the "Banquet manger" Nadine, I was unhappy but there was nothing I could do about it now, her responds was, well you all did it all wrong. I was only trying to help. If you wanted to help you should have been there on the THREE appointments we had and you were thirty minutes late to one and never showed for one and came in on the last one as we were leaving. NICE. I do not recommend the Round Rock,Tx. Hoilday Inn for any thing. Can't say that all of them are this way but Nadine is a bad fit for that type of position.
Never, never, never, stay at this hotel chain. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Lapeer Mi. In the middle of winter and the rooms were about 50 degrees. When I complained and asked for a differnt rooom I was told flat out no.After taking a shower to warm my body up, the desk clerk (a female) just entered my room with out my knowledge or permision and caught me bare naked. When I told her to get out and let me speak to a manager I was told no. I complained about the intrusion again and asked that I be given a report of the incident, I was told no.So I called the local police to make a report and the hotel threw me out with no refund in the middle of the night in a snow storm. The local Lapeer City Police were rude and only took the side of the hotel.I not only recomend that no one ever stay at this hotel, but that you avoid this town altogether. I had two children with me ages 6&4 and the police made us leave at 11pm with no where to go and laughed about it.If I could give this place a worst rating it would be a -10, and that goes for the Lapeer City Police also....
i booked two suites at holiday inn express in mexia texas. i checked in and payed for both suites in advance. i had my three sisters and my two daughters and my 3 year old granson. i was very offended when the desk told me i needed to pay 100.00 per room for damages and would get it back when i checked out. when i checked out they made me wait for them to check our rooms to see what condition they were in to receive my 200.00 back. which they did give back, but was very rude and embaresing and i was very offended.i will not make another stay at holiday inn for this reason. what if the average joe did not have the 100.00 in cash to give them?? i have never experienced this any other hotel or motel.
I worked at a HIE and I am here to tell you that the housekeepers need a raise....they work off the clock about 45 minutes to get their carts ready. They are ready to report this and pull tape..(There are cameras for proof)that work is being done off the clock. They are being rushed through the rooms and have no time to get their job done correctly. Some of the workers haven't had a raise since they've been there....going on 2 and 3 years...Mold in the walls that just get painted over.....somebody better wake up. This is rediculous!!!! Those girls work hard and for what???? Who reaps the benefits???? Also, there is one GM that drinks on the job...hmmmm..nice business you're running Webster and Gibson!!

DURING MY VISIT THERE ON NEW YEARS EVE, I LOST A PERSONAL ITEM, "A DIAMOND EARRING" WHICH HAD SENTIMENTAL VALUE AND ONE OF YOUR BANQUET STAFF MEMBERS RETURNED IT TO MANAGEMENT. I TAKE GREAT PRIDE AND MUCH RESPECT OF YOUR STAFF IN THE GREAT TURNAROUND TIME IN RESPONDING TO MY REQUEST VIA EMAIL AND TELEPHONE CALLS. YOUR REGIONAL MANAGER REGINA HANDLED THIS REQUEST IN SUCH A PROFESSIONAL MANNER BY BEING VERY SENSITIVE TO MY REQUEST. A GREAT STORY, ITEM FOUND AND RETURNED. THANK YOU SO MUCH. PLEASE PASS THIS ON. FONDLY, IVETTE VELEZ,
I noted my name twice because even though I have told these people my name is Barfield, after a major debacle concerning mine AND my in-laws credit/debit cards, they are still calling me Garfield. I reserved two rooms at the Holiday Inn Express, Jacksonville Beach, Fl for Thanksgiving for myself, my husband and my in-laws. My sister and her family were coming in from GA for the holiday so we rented rooms to be close to them while they were here. I reserved both rooms for 2 nights on my DEBIT card. When my in-laws checked out they gave the desk their Discovery CREDIT card and asked that they pay for their room with that card. When we checked out my husband gave him our DEBIT card that I had initially RESERVED the rooms on. Long, ridiculous story short - they charged US TWICE, then charged my in-laws, not for their room, but for a totally different room that strangers stayed in and charged 118.00 more. I have never once been offered a free night or ANYTHING! How does this happen. Renting rooms is what these people DO FOR A LIVING. How could you screw up this much on one transaction?
This references my wife's and my stay at the Holiday In NYC Manhattan 6th Avenue on December 21st and 22nd, room 2407 - - my wife mistakenly misplaced a diamond necklace either there or somewhere else - that is our responsibility - our complaint is of the poor follow up to our request to have the Mgr of Housekeeping respond to our several attempts (twice by voice mail and once with a personal conversation) to see if there was any trace of the jewelry - - never did hear from her after she personally said she would get back to us - - Additionally, after the room was made up for the 22nd, no towels, wash cloths nor soap were left in the room - The front desk staff was pleasant but extremely poor response service from the Housekeeping Mgr.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Palantine IL. We were there for a Family Wedding on New Years Eve. I do understand the everyone like to have fun on New Years Eve but there does come a time when the fun needs to be brought down to a level in which the guest should be able to sleep. After calling the Front desk twice and complaining(once at 3:30 and again at 4:15)about the noise level. The music was so loud and the opening and closing for the door that every one was going in and out and then everyone sitting in the hallway talking. Nothing happened. At 5:00 am the party decided to break up. Needless to say I had about an hour and a half of sleep that night with no help from the staff at the hotel. My son had forgot his jacket at the reception and went back in the morning to look for it and it was not there. He went to the front desk and asked if any one turned it in. The man said no but he would have some one go look for it. We went back an hour and a half later and he said they could not find it. We left our name and address in case they found it. At this time I complaind again about the party and and Jim at the front desk who had his Opra music blairing told me that it is not their fault it was the Security people that they hired to protect the people for the wedding. I told them no one even came down our hall because if they did the would not have only heard the music and noise but smelled the pot that was being smoked in the room across the hall. He just ignored my complaints. As we were driving home 30 minutes later they called to say the found my son's jacket and they would send it Fedex or UPS and charge my credit card. I really think they had it but needed to find another way to charge you for something. Needless to say, I did not enjoy my stay for New Years Eve.
The overall hotel was nice but the New Years celebration at the holiday inn in waterloo,ny was very cheap celebration for what we paid for. They offered no orderves or any foods at the bar,the staff was very inapproprate.Everyone was celebrating and dancing at 1230am and the help was cleaning up moving chairs and tables etc making noise.People were slow dancing at the time. They even took our drinks away and we werent even finished......This very rude and inappropriate especially when it just turned into the new year. We'll go to Rochester next time .Also there was noone waiting on the guests for more drinks foo etc They were very cheap this year and to top it all off the bar tender didn't even know how to mix drnks right .
I booked a room at the Holiday Inn North in Worthington, OH for my brother and sister-in-law. They were coming from out of town for Christmas Eve and my place is very small. I made the reservation through the main reservation number for Holiday Inn (not Travelocity or anything like that) and I gave the girl my card number. I said "so now the room is paid for and all taken care of, right?" and she said "yes". Last night, Christmas Eve, after my brother left, I called the hotel to make sure they checked in ok and was told no - the room wasn't paid for. I said that wasn't what I was told and asked why he didn't call me!! I would have gladly gone up there and swiped my card or whatever. I was so upset and embarrassed I was in tears. After reading these other reviews, I can't see how Holiday Inn stays in business!
Holiday Inn, Columbus Indiana. My recent stay here has brought me here to warn all customers here that " Credit/debit Customers BEWARE!!!" IF FOR ANY REASON THEY WANT TO CHARGE YOU DAMAGE CHARGES THEY WILL!!! We were accused of smoking in a non smoking room and WE WERE NOT!!! Disputing the charge is a joke. Your complaint comes with a very rude and disrespectful "Im sorry e-mail" from the hotel manager, AND a BIG BILL that causes your checking account to overdraft 2 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!! Just be sure to pay cash or STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!
Date of Occurrence 12/1/2011 Time 11:05 I went in to the Sports Bar and took an available seat in a booth as no one at at was empty with only two wait staff membbers behind the bar. While awaiting a business associate for a meeting. It was at this point that a clearily rude and untrained indivodual by the name of Enrique, asked " would I be ordering anything, and would I be the only one seating here today.". I replied, May I have a glass of water while I wait on my business associate. He then went on to immediately say " we have a seating area in the lobby where you can sit, if I am only ordering water". I thought for a moment, why would he say something like that to me, when I come hear to eat and meet quite often. He said, "well, I haven't seen you here before and we may need the seat for anyone or a group coming to meet and eat". I was totally taken back by his comment, and agressiveness in attempting to move me. I have never in my mebership experiences with Priority Club Rewards program, Holiday Inn, or any IHG Global Brand experienced such bad, disrespectful, and down right demeaning service. Hello what is your policy when a out-of town quest have flew from Grand Rapids, MI to Lnybrook, N.Y. I took a cab from J.F.K. airport to closes Hotel which was one of your hotel located in Lnybrook, N.Y. when asked what do cost for room they told me $230-250 per-day which was costly but I was tired a my bags was getting heavy from dragging them around. I handed the clerk my travel visa which has $5,000 dollars and a picture driver's licences. He say we can't take sir because travel visa are brought at the credit union where I am member he wouldn't take it so I said could I pay cash and he won't take cash either. I try explain this what folks use when traveling and don't want carrying large sum of cash. Then he was waiting for me to get out of lobby. This practice is wrong because I wan't from N.Y. I can be reached at 616-4503803 is the policy to keep black out because I have $15,000 on me in the form of travel visa's and I was there only to train on martial arts 6 months
I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn and Suites at Fountain Hils, AZ for Thanksgiving. This is clearly a non-smoking hotel. An ashtray is located by a side door to the east of the hotel and by the main entrance clearly for guests that smoke. I am a smoker. I went down to the ashtray on many occasions during my stay to smoke. At NO TIME did I or anyone else smoke in the room that was clearly marked non-smoking. When I returned home a $200 charge was put on my credit card. My sister, that had the reservation in her name, called about the charges to my credit card for me. She was told that someone had smoked in the room. Then she was told that a Manager and General Manager went to my room and smelled smoke so they took a machine to my room that detected smoke. I had several packs of cigarettes laying around in my room and was observed by several staff members during my stay smoking outside the hotel. At NO TIME was I ever told of the smoke smell during the entire stay or when checking out. I am extremely offended by the accusation. Clearly, this is an attempt to generate revenue. I am going to write a letter to the Corporate offices of the Holiday Inn, dispute the $200 charge on my credit card and do my best to tell anyone that will listen to me about this terrible experience. Smokers beware of the Holiday Inn and Suites, 12800 North Saguaro Blvd. Fountain Hills, AZ 85268!!!!!!
I stay at the Holiday Inn Express properties often, and with no problems. However, if you are concerned about the staff entering your room, just place the "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door when you have to leave out. The staff will assume you are in there, and won't bother you. I do this often to protect my stuff if I have to leave out for some reason.
