My husband and I booked in Jan 2012 a night in the Holiday Inn in Cleveland Ohio. We were attending April 17th an event in Cleveland and were spending the night. I received a call on April 5th that the motel was under renovation and closed till June. I called back and was told that they would transfer my reservation to a motel 5 miles from Downtown Cleveland. The whole purpose of us being close to Quicken arena was so that we could walk from the motel and restaurants and event. When we called customer service for the Holiday Inn they said they would call back within 24 to 48 hours . They never did and than told my husband and I that they could not do anything for us since the hotel was sold to another company. We booked the hotel in Jan 2012 and our event is in April , so we had to find another hotel and we also had to pay more money besides the aggravation and time to find another motel within walking distance. I feel that this was terrible customer service and will not stay at another Holiday Inn again nor will my family.

I don't have the option for less than 1 star othewise I would give it. The bathroom had black mold in the shower on the soap dish, all along the tub. There were hairs on the toilet along with a black ring in toilet bowl. Three nights for $1000 and that is what you get at Holiday Inn Lido Beach Sarasota. I tried to get another room and they were booked and they never sent anyone to clean so we bought our cleaning products and cleaned the best we could. I took pictures and sent them to management...all I got was "sorry, the building is old." OLD does not constitute dirty. My husband went to get me a bottle of water, all the machines on two different floors were broken, so he paid $3.00 for a sml bottle of water at the bar. I am so angry about this entire experience! I will spread the word on how horrible it was.

Book a room at Holiday Inn Express, Concord, NC for 31 March 2012 for $81.00 throught Priceline.com. We decided to go a day early. I called the Holiday Inn Express of Concord and they receptionist said no problem we have you down for Friday night also (03/30/2012). When we arrived Friday night no problem everything great. We left Saturay morning and came back early afternoon and could not get into our room. We went to the front desk only to be greeted by the most rude employee I have ever met. She proceeded to tell me we had only booked for one night and that was Friday night and if we wanted to stay Saturday night it would be $129.00. We argued for 30 minutes and she finally agreed that we had booked for Saturady night on line for $81.00 and she would have to give it to us for that price. I now have a copy of my bookings and can not find a way to contact who ever is in charge on the Holiday Inn Express Corporation. We were told the room was already cleaned and when we went to lay down on the bed the pillow case still had my make-up on it. WOW they don't change sheets anymore! Don't ever stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

We stayed at 2 different Holiday Inn owned hotels. Things were broken everywhere,it was not completely clean. We ordered room service for dinner, they forgot things that we had asked for. we gave them another chance and ordered room service again in the morning. I ordered strawberries and cream pancakes, there was NO whip cream! How do you forget an ingredient that is in the title of the dish? All of this aside, when we got up in the morning, the tray was still NOT picked up from dinner from the night before!! We always stay in a king room and exspect the best service, we gave them 2 tries and they still could not get it right!

My family and I recently stayed at the Millington, TN location. My wife and I are both smokers. We did NOT smoke in the Hotel room. I smoked outside of the pool area and brought a cup of water with me to dispose of my cig properly. I took the cup back to my hotel room where I threw it away. Without notice the Holiday Inn took 250.00 from my bank account. I called the hotel and was on hold for 5 minutes, when my call was finally answered the clerk was very rude insisting that we smoked in our room. My wife and I had been in a smoking room at a Casino in Tunica,MS for the previous three days so I'm sure that our clothes and blankets smelled of smoke. When I explained that to the clerk she said she couldn't help me that the manager said we smoked in the room and to charge us the 250.00. When I asked to speak with a manager the clerk became very rude and said there was not a manager available to call back monday! I will go to the top of the corporate ladder of Holiday Inn if I have to to get this resolved. Yea, I smoke but its not right to get discriminated against due to the smell of your clothes and linens!

I called to change my reservation and was told that I could only change it if I rebooked for another time at the same hotel. I was to call back with the dates. When i did, they lady said that i would have to call back since the manager was busy and she got off work soon. I called back a few hours later and was then told they wouldn't change the reservation at all and were going to charge me the $600+ without the option to take a different date. Charlotte Stevens, lied to me then and lied when she sent me an email saying she wouldn't change the reservation. She made it very clear that she and Holiday Inn would have the back of the hotel before they would fight for me. I guess being a rated Priority Club member for almost 20 years doesn't mean much. I certainly didn't to Charlotte Stevens.

If you are thinking about staying at this hotel, I would suggest you choose another location if you want customer service that is welcoming and honest. I booked this reservation just a few days ago. One of the first items I confirm when making reservations is that I either have King Bed/Sofa Sleeper or 2 double beds. My husband and I have 2 children so the need for 2 beds is important. The lady on the phone confirmed I would have a kitchenette and a sofa sleeper. She also said to me, good thing you called and booked now, it looks like we are filling up quickly today. I said yes, we are having our AAU tournament there. Needless to say I get her and not only do they have my reservation wrong, they are now sold out of either type of room. Unfortunately I encountered one of the rudest, disrespectful front desk employees I have ever met. I travel for my business and I have stayed at several chains and this is by far the worst experience. Shae talked to me for 15 minutes how this is not her fault, she was off, they left her in a mess, repeatedly. At some point I told her to just stop with the giving me a bunch of excuses about her being off and having nothing to do with this booking. She then begins to get upset with me for telling her about excuses and then threatens me by saying, "I don't have to find you a room. I can make you all leave." This is late at night with my 2 children right by my side. My husband then becomes upset saying are you really throwing your weight around right now because someone from your company messed up our reservations? Her response, "you all are this close." My last response to her was, when you have kids and its late at night and your reservation is like this, I want you to remember this night. Her response, "well I don't travel so I guess I won't." This is UNBELIEVABLE and if it wasn't for every other place being sold out I would have left. I will never stay at another Holiday Inn again.

I booked 40 rooms for march 21st and 22nd of 2013 at holiday inn express in Brookings SD I asked if i could put them on my credit card Priced @ $114.00 the lady I spoke to said I can block them but I have to wait to speak to manager to put on a credit card then she said she would send me a fax saying I had the rooms blocked. So when I called back a few days later they said I had no rooms reserved or blocked and there were none available well I kept the fax they sent me and faxed it back to the manager. She said she could get me ten rooms @ price for $169.00 not even close to 40.... I think this is completely wrong and rediculous I would really like this resolved. I have always stayed at the holiday inn express where ever I go but if this cant get resolved soon I will change that and make sure people know what happened.....

Just returned from stay a Holiday Inn CocoKey in Kansas City Mo. Want to say that that was not a good experience from the booking of the room thru the first day of our stay...And a friend who also booked was seriously unhappy with the accomodations also. I had booked the room for 3 nights on Jan 23.....2 nights at a rate that was set up by Imanni Events at the rate of 99.00 per night......the 3rd night at your standard rate. I want to tell you that it took 4 FOUR calls just to make a reservation (people could not find info on the booking)....Finally after I called Ms Copridge (head of Immani Events) and she called the Hotel, it got straightened out so we could make reservations....Then, several days before the visit, I called to confirm reservations...and since I had originally booked for 2 double beds, I changed that to a single King. One of our party cancelled out. No problem with that but when I changed the accomodation, the hotel dropped me out of the group rate and sent me new rates of almost $100 more....not only that the 3rd nite rate went up too. I CALLED BACK to see why...and began the transfer game of I CAN'T HELP YOU..LET ME TRANSFER YOU again.....What a nightmare....after the 5th call and my threat to go to Corporate someone finally helped me get the group rate back and straighten out the 3rd night rate...As far as our stay after the first night and my complaint about the room service, it got better. But I want to tell you....NEVER AGAIN.....THERE ARE OTHER HOTELS.

I booked and paid for a room in New Orleans to stay at the night before we left on a cruise. I did so on the corporate website, as I didn't want any issues with a third party booking. The evening of my reservation, I called to inform them that I would be a late arrival. I was told that it was no problem since I had prepaid. When we finally got to New Orleans, we got lost in a not so great area trying to find the hotel. I called to ask for directions, (since mine were wrong), and was told that I no longer has a room! My room was given away, even though I had prepaid, and called to tell them we were going to be late! Instead of trying to help us or even apologize, they simply HUNG UP ON ME!!!! Imagine 2:00am driving through a city you don't know, with your young daughters trying to find a place to sleep after driving 11.5 hours. The gas station attendant told us were weren't safe, and offered to let us sleep in our car, in his lot, and that he'd watch the car through the stores survellance camera! WOW. It was BAD!!! We were scared to death! We slept off and on for two hours in the parking garage of Harrah's Casino! When we returned from our cruise, my husband told me they still charged my credit card! What a way to steal! This is not over. I am calling AMEX tomorrow, and fighting the charge. DO NOT BOOK HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS EAST NEW ORLEANS. They'll give away your room, and charge you!

I was trying to block 10 rooms for a wedding later this year with HIE on Coastal Highway, Rehoboth, Del. Manager not friendly nor willing to work with us. We did sign contract because we felt we had to. Original quote was changed to much higher rate. We are told that cost of room per night will increase by $20+ if we do not book all 10 rooms (which I am sure we will). I feel bad for my guests who will not know they could possibly owe quite a bit more if all does not go as planned. I also requested a complimentary room for bride and groom (which is done in NJ). He acted like I was from a foreign country!! Manager informs me they are independently owned and therefore can make up any rules they see fit. They carry the HI logo -- don't they still report to them in some way? Can someone give this man a happy pill???? This is suppose to be a happy occasion but he certainly isn't contributing to that feeling.

I had booked Holiday Inn in Staunton VA for my wedding and reception. Total cost over 4K dollars. Upon booking they asked for 1060.00 deposit. It said non refundable in the contract and yes, I do know what that means. Just recently my fiance and I decided we needed to move back to the west coast due to some unforseen family emergencies. I contacted the Holiday Inn and was told we would never get our money back because they "turned away" business. This is not right, BECAUSE, the last time I talked to the person in charge of their weddings I was told our wedding HAD to be evening because they had an event already planned earlier in that day! So we had to have a night time wedding and pick a different menu now! Plus...we are not getting married until October 2012 that gives them 7 months to books something else! I will NEVER NEVER recommend Holiday Inn..Oh and even though we had out of town guests coming they would NOT give us a break on the rooms..oh it was maybe 10.00 off! Its ridiculous! I am definately taking this to a higher level!

On 3/8/12, I contacted the TALLAHASSEE, FL, HOLIDAY INNS, on 2725 GRAVES ROAD, TALLAHASSEE FL, pertaining to a missed reservation which I was subsequently billed. I contended the missed reservation was an honest mistake, being unfamiliar with the Tallahassee, Fla, area. Additionally, this reservation was made via at ravel agency, U.S. Government, which is my employ. I totally unaware of the actual hotel location, and was on official government travel. After a long day of flying, I arrived at the Tallahassee airport, caught a cab, and informed the cab driver, “I’m staying at the Holiday Inn nearest to the airport.” When I was taken to a Holiday Inn, I believed it was the Holiday Inn of my reservation. Approximately one month later, I was informed I was double billed by two Holiday Inn’s in Tallahassee, Fla, and not until February 2012, was informed of the reason for the double billing. It became apparent I stayed at a Holiday Inn, which is not where I had my reservation. I stay at Holiday Inns while on business and leisure; and I have never had this type of mix-up, at any time during my staying at Holiday Inn’s across the country for more than 30 years. I am thoroughly disappointed with the treatment I have received, and I am dissatisfied with the manner of consideration or lack of, from the Holiday Inn addressed above. I am not a scofflaw, and can say with assurance; I had no intention of attempting to defraud the Holiday Inn, referenced above, out of a room. The lack of thoughtfulness I have received, and the treatment by the referenced Holiday Inn above leads me to believe I no longer wish to do business with Holiday Inn. I have made my hotel of choice as Holiday Inn, and now am reconsidering my choice. As of this date, I intend to disassociate myself from the Holiday incorporated, not beca

My recent experience with Holiday Inn Heathrow, and then with corporate office has re-affirmed what is well known about 'corporate entities' and the people who work in them. At the end of the day (or call, or email) they will regurgitate corporate policy; legally steal from people just trying to navigate through the complexities of simply getting around place to place; and they will try to justify doing so under the thin veil of their own bureaucratic bs. Long story short: Lesson learned. I won't be dealing with a super-sized hotel chain again. They are too inflexible, too afraid of making a justified exception when circumstances warrant it. It is sad, the 'profit over people' way that many of them operate. I have choices and alternatives to that tired, rule-burdened system. My money is going elsewhere. LOCAL B&B's and local hotels who have the flexibility (and ethics) to do right by people deserve to be rewarded with out business. I am sick of national chains and their choosing money over me. It feels right to instead support local, people-appreciating small businesses.

Too bad there wasn't a (0) rating because it really didn't even deserve that. I stayed at the Clay Rd exit in Grand Rapids MI and they made a ridulous mistake that cost me to be late a hr and a half for an appointment. I called the desk the evening before to have them run a mapquest for me. I gave the girl the address AND ZIP CODE, she even read it back to me. The next morning I was given the mapquest....it had the SAME STREET, but in another STATE. I didn't notice until I was over 40 minutes out of my way. I called several times to speak to a manager....but there wasn't one available. I kept calling and was told that the mgr was in a meeting and then later in the day I was told she had left to go home. I wasted over a 1/4 tank of gas (which we all know these days is very expensive.) I can't believe someone would make a mistake like that. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. If you are reading these posts....I'm not the only disatisfied customer. THAT SHOULD SPEAK VOLUMES ON WHAT TO EXPECT FROM HOLIDAY INN.

2-24-12 I booked a room through Orbitz at the Marco Island, FL Holiday Inn Club for 2-18-12 through 2-20-12. When we arrived they had us booked for 8-18-12 through 8-20-12. No room was available and worse, they were extremely rude, would not help us, gave us wrong information and when asked any questions, they just turned their backs to us. When we left, we ended up finding a room that was $700! When I got back home to fix this situation with Orbitz, they tried, but the Holiday Inn would not answer the phone, or if they did, they would disconnect and when they refused to help, they gave a wrong phone number to Orbitz to contact the Hoiday Inn finance department. This took well over two hours and I still have no answers!!!!! NEVER book with Holiday Inn Club Vacations in Marco Island Sunset Cove hotel.

On 2/17/12 my family and I decided to stay at your hotel located at 1944 Cedar Creek rd Fayetteville N C. My 87 yr old dad and I shared a room. In this room the heating/air condition unit did not work. The AUTO HEAT setting would remain on allowing the room to be uncomfortably hot. Several times that night I had to get up out of bed and turn this unit off and on manually getting no sleep or rest. I reported this situration to the front desk at 3am, at 6am I left the room and set in the lobby to releave my frustration and hopfully get a comfortable place to rest. The G M checked the heating unit and found that it was broke and offered me $30 off the room price. I informed the G M what I needed was what she could not give me a restful night of sleep to continue my travels. I felt that the room should have been compt. and offered a free night at any Holiday Inn of my choosing.

Dear Sir, I had 3 clients stay at the Holiday Inn Express 1701 Russell St. Baltimore, 21230. Date of arrival was Feb. 4 2012. My clients had good service, enjoyed the breakfast in the hotel. That was all good. Shuttle service to the cruise ship was good but the shuttle service from the cruise ship back to the hotel on Feb.12,2012 was poor. My clients had to wait in the freezing cold for the shuttle. There were so many people needing shuttle service to Holiday Inn Express that the hotel could not provide proper service. So these people ended up getting a cab back to Holiday Inn Express. However, that defeated the purpose of being able to have shuttle service back to the hotel. Please do something to correct this problem. I think more shuttle buses are needed. P.S. They did call to the hotel 2 times but to no avail the shuttle did not come!Yes, other people were left waiting too. This was an in convience to my clients. I heard complaints from them. Probably won't be using Holiday Inn Express again.

I am staying at the Holiday Inn at Casa Grande. Room is fine, but we left the parking lot and came back to a mess. They are holding a Gun show and it took us 20 minutes to find a parking spot in the hotel parking lot. Had to drive around and waste gas. Hotel staff was no help what so ever. If they do not have a lot that is big enough for an event and their customers staying in the hotel, maybe they should not be holding it. Also on my way to my room I also watched an employee looking through a peephole in one of the rooms. I will never EVER stay in a Holiday Inn ever again and I will tell all my friends about this stay and recommend the they do the same.
