Just bought brand new Tahoe. Only had it for 24 hours. Already see rust coming from driver side door at seems where the weather strip meets in bottom of the door jam. Very strange since that part is covered by the door when closed. I noticed it just as I was stepping in after paying for it. Sales rep quickly wiped it with rag and said it was from the car wash during prep and had something to do with the brakes getting wet. Was confused by that. Well this morning opened the door and guess what, more rust there. Not happy. Thought I bought the perfect car. Now I have to go to the dealer tomorrow to see what to do. Kind of silly to have a problem in the first 24 hours of ownership. Uggggg!!!!!!!
I own a 2004 Z71 Silverado (VIN#2GCEK13T641404698) with only 80,000 miles and found the heads are cracked around the mounting bolts losing antifreeze (No, the engine never overheated due to this failure.) I religiously followed all my fluid changes and taken extremely good care of this vehicle. I feel the quality and workmanship of this engine lacks creditbility and will not buy another GM prodcut again with only being stuck with this one since it will probably cost me well over 2500.00 to repair. My recommendation is to make vehicles more reliable not unreliable. After i receive the so called reimbursement offer i would have to say that it was very insulting. Not that it is any concern of yours or the company, I will never plan on buying a general motors product again. I hope the GM company is proud they build such an un-reliable product which as an result will prompt me to go with Dodge or Chrysler on my next 2 purchases because I have one that has 170,000 miles on it and still running strong. In addition to this complaint I am planning on selling my truck after it is repaired because I am not totally confident it will make it to 85000!!! Kind of a shame a multi-million dollar company like yourself is too cheap to help out a average salaried customer on a repair that faulty components were installed in engine but that is okay, i would rather spend my next 30-40,000 on something else. Really pays to be not to back up your customer huh?
I began having problems with my 2005 Chevy Malibu about 18 months ago. It began to have problems starting, a new light (anti theft light) appeared when it had these problems. The anti-theft light would blink when it lost power in traffic, causing me great fear for my life and safety. (unsafe to stay in a stalled car on the freeway, and also unsafe to get out of the car with other vehicles approaching at 60 mph! If it was over 85F I couldn't accept work for that day, because the car wouldn't start until the temperature cooled down to 70 or below. Often I was stranded by my car. We replaced fuel pumps, the PCM checked our fine and yet the problem got worse. At a reputable certified auto electric shop, they found a bad plug on the fuse box, but after replacing the box, still had problems starting. Isolated problem to passcode device and took it to dealer for replacement. Dealer refused to replace without testing. They said they could not duplicate the problem and that the car was road worthy. The car lost power in traffic (anti theft light flashing - I have the video) and I was stranded, blocking the mall's main entrance. Turns out they never tested the part I asked. They sent a tow truck and agreed to test the anit-theft (pass code) device. They used a data box and found that the problem was the passcode device. I had the PCM tested previously and was explicit that they SHOULD NOT test the PCM, as it is a sensitive electronic device and I had a shop destroy one on a Plymouth I owned several years ago, by sending an uncontrolled charge through it. The GM certified service department subjected the PCM to non-standard testing, broke the door locks and now claim that the PCM was at fault all along. They also claim that they never tested the passcode device and fired the technician that did the data box test. The work order says - test anti-theft device. Most of what they have done is a direct violation of the California Car Repair Act, and when I contacted GM Corporate (First Wesley, now Brandy - who won't even give me her return extension, and is extremely rude and abusive) GM stands behind their service centers and will not intervene on behalf of a safety issue such as no power on the freeway, or stranded at night unable to get home. They have no expectation that their GM certified service centers will comply with state auto repair laws. I am incensed by such blatant disregard for safety, and shocked that GM with 27% owned by the government is unconcerned with being a party to civil liability. GM is now asking me to pick up my now totally non-operational car and take it elsewhere with out completing the service order. Or I can pay the dealer who broke the PCM over $1,000 P/L to replace the PCM without completing the original work order. The parts I need replacing are proprietary and because there are a lot of us out here with anti-theft device malfunctions (about 500 on at least 4 Facebook sites), I want the repairs done at a GM certified center, and because of liability issues surrounding the GM dealer-service center's violation of auto repair law in the state, no other dealer will touch it. GM has done nothing to help me with this problem. I have had to rent a car, lost work, been unable to get to meetings in the five weeks my car has been in the shop in Merced. When I did drive my car, I was repeatedly put in unsafe situations. GM puts anti-theft devices on their car as it is cheaper than stamping parts under the federal Anti Theft Act of 1992. They received a waiver by stating that the Anti Theft Device was an equal deterrent to auto and auto part theft. The passcode device fails, is no deterrent to the removal of major engine parts - except without stamping they cannot be traced. Take a blood pressure cuff, a plastic wedge and a wire and you can be in the Malibu in less than a minute. Pop the hood and remove the battery cables, and there is no alarm. AN electrical device that primarily keeps owners from safely operating their car is BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! GM announced record profits for last year, yet they will do nothing to fix the passcode problem. I love my Chevy Malibu, except for this problem, it is the best car I have ever had, 31 mpg in town and highway. It beats the new Malibu's, yet this stupid little device keeps me from using my vehicle. GM, by failing to repair a part that they already received a financial incentive to install is acting in extremely bad faith.
I bought a 2011 Chevy Cruze and I'm taking it back to the shop tomorrow again for a burning smell when the heat is on! No idea but I'm going to call the Lemon Law business and file for lemon law cause they don't know what the issue is and I have 13,000 miles on it. Should not be an issue with a brand new car!!!
I have a hhr and love it.Its an 06 with 45 thousand miles still looks like new.If i got paid to sell them id be in the money.I have more people asking me all about them just today getting gas a person across from me getting gas asked me about the car. I realy think you made a bad choice to stop making them.Business are using them you have the addvantage no more pts im glad.

My fiance has had so many electrical problems with her 2002 chevy impala, and after doing research online, its not just a simple issue that some cars have, its a very common serious problem that people all over the globe are having that is costing way too much money for us middle and lower class americans to be able to afford to fix, and its leaving many stranded, and as ive seen so far, anyone that contacts you about it, gets the same response, "I'm sorry we cant help you", which is why foriegn car companies are thriving in the auto industry and didnt need a bailout because they have great customer service and they stand behind their customers, and they arent afraid to recall something and fix what they screwed up so that their customers can feel confident in knowing that everything will be okay!!
I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN, IHAD BOUGHT A 2009 PONTIAC G8 1 YEAR AGO NEEDLESS TO SAY 10 RECALLS, OTHER TIMES IN THE SHOP AND THE CAR IS THE BIGGEST PEICE OF SHIT AND ALL YOU CAN OFFER ME TO FIX THE PROBLEM IS A YEAR FREE MAINTENCE!!!! Dear GM I have a 2006 H 3 and you all have to be aware of the heater problem that you have with the transistor that keep burning out and keeps the blower from working. I had it fixed in may 2011 now here in feb 2012 same thing 9 months later I HOPE I DON'T HAVE TO PAYFOR THE REPAIR AGAIN I GUESS WE WILL FIND OUT. IF IT IS GETTING THAT HOT WHAT IS TO SAY IT WON'T CATCH FIRE. RECALL THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT
GM you have failed at supporting your customers. At the end of the day all mfgs have one issue or another. What separates the winners and losers is customer service. Nevermind the arrogance you have to ignore ongoing issues like the lifters in my silverados. I would stil be loyal if you were willing to provide some support.
I am writing letter because I want GMC to be aware of the miles on my suburban. I own a 1995 GMC suburban that recently passed 340,000 miles. All miles are original and other than a transmission problem years ago, nothing major has been done to it. We change oil around 6500 miles, and to this day it doesn't burn oil or there aren't any leaks any where. My suburban is getting tired and I'm thinking of getting rid of it. I have a 23 foot boat, and the burb has no business pulling the boat. Want to know if suburban is worh anything to GMC.
I have a 2007 Chevy HHR with 28,000 miles on the vehicle. I purchased the vehicle September 26, 2007, new. About three weeks ago, while driving on the road, I lost the power steering and the light for the power steering went on. I turned off the motor and started again. It was fine for about twenty minutes, then it did this again and kept repeating. I called the service department of Mall Chevrolet and spoke to a mechanic. He told me there was no recall for the power steering and that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. He wanted me to bring the vehicle in for repair. Not trusting the dealer, I took the vehicle to my own mechanic who informed me the power steering motor was bad and needed to be replaced. A new part was going to be $600.00. Having just lost my employment I couldn't afford the cost, so he installed a used motor for half the cost. This is my sixth (and newest)Chevy/General Motors vehicle I have owned and I find it hard to believe that with 28,000 miles the parts are going to start going bad. If this is the case, the HHR will be the last Chevy/General Motors vehicle I will own. Has anyone heard of a recall on the HHR or similar models?
Well I have been a loyal GM customer for many years, having owned several GM cars which include a 1973, and 1977 chevy monte carlo, a 1994 chevy astro van, a 2001 buick regal, a 2001 chevy silverado, a 2001 oldsmobile aurora. I guess this proves my loyalty towards GM products. I'm usually not the one to complain but after having so many issues with three of the current vehicles, and reading that thousands of people are havinh multiply issues even with newer vehicles I felt compelled to share my experiences. I had some what good luck with the earlier models the 73, and the 77 monte carlos. But the 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora which by the way I really love the car, I've had several issues starting at around 30000 miles. Noises from the suspension when turning like a thump took to dealer under extended warranty, they advise that the rack & pinion needed to be replaced, along with the water pump due to a coolant leak, granted that the manufacturer advises that their coolant is supposed to last up to 100000 miles. Well after the rack was replaced the noise came back diagnosis intermidiate steering shaft replaced or lubrication required. Several of the electric window control motors had to be replaced, both front wheel bearing along with both front rotors, would not stay true no matter how many times I had them machined. Water in the front left passenger floor , or the trunk by the spare tire wheel wheel. Then the one that started around 90000, issues with the transmission shifting erratic intermittenly shifting. I read through several weeks of research that cars that have the T465E transmission have multiple issues. From bad Pressure control solenoids, to bad wiring hardness. Some sites suggest that after market shift kits tend to help, to replacing the sensors inside the transmission. Well I did the kit, first, that seemed to help a bit with the shifting but did not quite solved the problem completely, so I decided to replaced the sensors. The transmission shifted great for about a month then it started acting or shifting bad again not as often as before but the issue seems to be there still. Then an issue with the airbags, when making turns the air bag lights gets triggered, I heard that it maybe the clock horn ring. So many issues with a car that is under 100000 miles unbelivable, and so many people having the same issues with some many gm, buick, oldsmobile cars. I think that GM has lost a valuable customer, my next car(s) will defenitely be foreign, I understand that they also have problems but they are more reliable overall. I wish that GM would address the issues they are having and assist the customers that are having these issues so that they can reatain them as customes, because I would rather buy american then foreign but they (GM )needs to step and recall and assist in fixing the issues that comsumers are having with their products. I have a 2003 Cadillac Escallade with only 92,000 miles & it's been a wonderful suv until recently. The transfer case began clunking & the dealer said it's a normal trait of the 6.0 AWD system. Shortly after that, it blew itself apart (great diagnosis GM). Then the engine started a loud ticking noise from the lifters during some cold starts & again the dealer said it was a normal trait of that engine & wouldn't hurt to drive. A few thousand miles later the engine spun a main bearing because an oring on the oil pump failed. New engine cost me $4,000 & GM wouldn't help me with the cost, even though they knew the oring has been a constant problem on the LS engines. Now the stabilatrak system & traction control systems decided to turn themselves off at 70mph, causing the computer to put the engine in reduced power mode & throwing the car violently into the the oncoming lane!! GM dealer has replaced throttle body, throttle positioning sensor & numerous other expensive sensors, but problem still exists. By the way, I've used 3 different dealers, so it's not just one incompetent dealer out there. I have 3 other GM trucks and they have been near flawless over the years. One is a 95 GMC Yukon 4WD 2-door with 300,000 miles on it & counting, a 97 Silverado Z71 with almost 500,000 miles on it that doesn't use a drop of oil!! What happened GM quality? Used To be "like a rock" but now more "like a turd", I just don't understand? My family owns 3 GM dealerships, so I've always purchased only GM vehicles. Although it will probably hurt some feelings in my family, my wife's next new car will be a Ford & the beautiful Escalade will be someone else's problem. It makes me sad to leave GM, but my wallet can't take anymore of it.
Im ready to let fox handle this issue im very pissed about my chevy I had ty to contact someone & no one never contact me back now its time to reach out for answers else where
I have a 2011 Chevy Camaro V6, I bought it in September 2011, oddly once the weather got cold out my blinkers would not work, this is the 3rd time i have had it in the shop, total of 3 weeks labor and driving a piece of crap Malibu and they cannot figure out what is wrong with it, they hooked it up to the WONDERFUL diagnostic machine which states it is the body control module, it was replaced twice and reprogrammed SO they said and still the blinkers will not work when the weasther is below 50 degrees, once the car is driving int he cold weather for fifteen minutes or so and is warmed up they miraculously WORK! they said they have NEVER heard this problem yet in the camaros. What I am worried about it now they are messing with OTHER parts....and maybe messing more things up, they have this week and if its not fixed, I am demanding a new one, I have a baby in the back seat, i cannot drive around with blinkers working 'sommetimes' for the fear of getting in an accident, which would be a HUGE lawsuit. So has anyone had any problem like this???
We bought a 2003 Chevy Silverado 3500 Duramax that we have had severe problems with the injectors!!! We have researched and know this is a manufacturing defect that GM is aware of as they already fixed all 8 injectors at 77000 miles. Now another 70000 miles and all 8 injectors plus 4 down tubes are now bad. The down tubes were supposed to be looked at the 1st time but there is NO RECORD of them being even looked at when the injectors were replaced. We have owned 8 GM Trucks over the years and now that we have spoken to the Chevrolet Rep they say they will only cover 1/2 of the parts and 1/2 of the labor of the Injectors ONLY. The bill for the injectors and down tubes total $5460.00 and they only want to pay $1560.00. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME GM that these have to be replaced at 70000 miles so I guess every 70000 miles everyone that owns a Duramax will be soaked for REPLACEMENT OF INJECTORS. If you go on the Duramax Forum online there are MULTIPLE PEOPLE with this SAME INJECTOR REPEAT PROBLEM!! Now we have spoken to Corporate this morning and they say they dont think they can get us any better offer. I DONT THINK WE SHOULD HAVE OT PAY FOR A KNOWN MANUFACTURING PROBLEM WITH INJECTORS AND DOWN TUBES that CONTINUE TO FAIL!! I worked for years for GM and have always backed their product 150% until now when they want to LAY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THEIR FAULTY PRODUCTS with the consumer. This truck is USED IN OUR BUSINESS and I have been out of work for 3 weeks already!! You would think GM wouldnt want my truck sitting at their Service Center where all Buyers can see it DOESNT RUN!!!Yet they are saying they are giving us a very good offer for us to repair the truck but for parts that are continually failing I dont think the responsibility should be on us to fix the Injectors or Down Tubes!! I guess what the consumer thinks doesnt count!!
What a shame!!! Poor standards poor quality and poor customer satisfaction! GM should learn from Apple-Steve Jobs! We purchased new 2008 Silverado 1500 and new 2008 Focus within. 2 months of each other. The Focus no major prob. The truck, constantly having issues...fuel cap or other probs where tank needs removed. Also a new reg maintenance issue "drive train clunk" we've been told its all part of reg maintenance like changing oil...hmmm, my other cars never neediest his type of repair (maybe u joints) never removal of train for greasing!!! Costly, every few months!!! Dealership says its normal,,,routine for all... Oh not to bring up issues w dual heating system,,, a mind of its own!!! It's a shame cuz we really love new Camero...guess not
Your production of such an inferior truck is mind boggeling. I own a 1956 Chevy and a 1970 Monte Carlo. In my and other collectors opinion, 1970 was the last well constructed car you have produced. After seeing the Super Bowl ad about the reliability of a Chevy truck I laughed my *** off. Was that supposed to be funny? Anyone I know with a later produced Chevy truck are trying to get rid of them and buy a Ford. Hows that Hopey Changey thing working out for you? If there were a catigory of no stars you would get one.
I purchased a 2010 Chevy Aveo a month ago. I'm already having problems, the change oil light came on(that's understandable cause I drive several miles). What I have a problem with is the service light is on. Now that this light is on I have no power when climbing hills & the temp gauge is moving to the H. Come on now I just got the car over a month ago and I'm having these kind of problems already, I haven't even made my first payment. I think AV Chevy sold me a lemon now I'm doing my homework(I want another car) once you have problems your going to always have them!
