My concern is there policy on sexual misconduct. What happened in my case was a regioal mananager named MIKE MORRIRISON IN THE DAYTONA FLA AREA NOW was sexual harassin my wife told her he was the way to promotion. Sending text msg asking for nude pics and telling her he wish he was here to have sex with her to put it nice it came to a point to were she got promotied and caused the break up of a 20 year marriage with 6 children and 9 graand children, i thought people should know this.
On 5/11/11 at 19:35 I shopped in your Woodstock, VA store.Several of the shelves were empty. If they were not empty things were pushed way back on the shelf and I could not reach the yoplait yogurt and other items I wanted. There were no small bottles of grape juice which is in the refrigerator dept. The beef cube steaks were nice and red on the top but had turned a dark color and had grizzle on the bottom side so the customer could not see it. My favorite bread is Pepperidge light Oatmeal. They are constantly out of it as well as the light wheat bread.I have discussed this with the manager three times. Your price for this bread is .40 higher than our local Wal Mart. I think you need more help at that store. Employees were scarce when I shopped. I could not get help with anything. Since we only have Food Lion and Wal Mart in Woodstock could you possibly get more help, keep the shelves filled and stop trying to pull the wool over customers' eyes. Your deli and produce products are entirely too expensive. My days shopping there will be few and far between!
I went to food lion store 1389 the floors was very dirty and nasty. Associates was standing around not doing anything while line #4 was back up. You had other associates walking around talking to others associates and looking through the trash cans for cans to take home. While Latonya is working very hard while others associates doing nothing but playing with others associates. Business was very poor and i'm taking my business somewhere else where I get better treatment. I think Latonya for doing a very good job. This visit was on April 10,2011
I was told Latonya Greene from store 1389 was fired a associate their told me I was their when the indent happen I was in her line when she repeatly keep calling for help and nobody won't come and help her. She keep telling us that #4 and #5 was opened but nobody was there. And I did like it at all. They used to do that to her all the time and no action was taken. It was wrong to fire her because i really like coming through her line she was very polite and willing to help customers. I don't think its right for Darlene to stay in the office with Shawn and walking around talking to others associates while Latonya was working hard. She walking around looking in trash cans for cans. That was unfair to her. So there for I'm taking my business somewhere else where my service wanted. And by the way associates don't have the right to tell others associates and customers what happen to Latonya. That's wrong.
Man that was wrong how they fired my girl Latonya at the 1389 store. She was very polite and nice and willing to help customers. When customers didn't have enough of money she would give them the rest of money. You don't fired someone and don't tell them almost three weeks later when you could of contact her not untilnshe comes to the store and see if she is on the schdule thats wrong. Mr. Martin wrong and he suppose be store manager and Shawn and she suppose be customer service manger. I'm taking my business somewhere else.
I shop at Danville Va 2 stores and the one in Yanceyville NC. I have made my last meat purchase there. I bought 3 different fresh pork picnic butts over the last few months to rotisserie for bbq..only to find when I got them home that they had been cut so that the hefty meat part was gon and all that was left was the bits and pieces. I cannot rotisserie bits and pieces I can tie it up but its ridiculous to use more string than there is meat. I weighed it it was a total of 3 pounds and 2 1/2 were the fat skin and bone. I m on a fixed income and I will no longer waste my food dollars in the so called meat dept.

To Whom It May Concern: I am a faithful customer of Food Lion so when I found out my local Food Lion was hiring I decided to apply. Unfortunately I forgot my password so I went through the process of Food Lion sending me my password I received no response at all. I have emailed whatever department that suppose to handle this several times. I am really disappointed in how business is not conducted in a timely manner. So this makes me question many other things.
I have been shopping at foodlion for years, every since they opened their store in my area. I have a family of five. I by several hundred dollars a month from them every month. Very rarely do I go to another store, because of the convience. However, the other day I go in and by my regular groceries. As I check out my bill was around 190.00. I always have paid with check, and have never had a problem. However, out of the blue, they decline my check! I was so embarrassed. I then asked the cashier the reason and he very bluntly told me "they just do that, its declined, here's your check back." I then took it to the front desk, asked what was going on and they informed me I could call the number on the back of the check with questions. I proceeded to call the number and spoke to the individual at their check company. His response, "it has nothing to do with your check, its just we can't verify the amount on a friday night." WHAT? I write checks here all the time. I can only write them M-F 8a-4p? Neither the service desk nor the gentleman on the phone could explain from that point. I had to call my husband, get him out and drive to the grocery store with our debit card to get my groceries! I have bounced any checks AT ALL, and come int the store at least once a week! I'm refusing to go into the foodlion at this point. I'll drive for groceries for awhile before I go back: not until I find out the REAL reason they didn't take my check. Was it over a certain limit they set? I know Kroger has a limit of 150.00 unless your a regular. I should qualify as a regular at the Foodlion, but maybe they just don't take checks over 150.00 unless the bank is opened? Is that the case? Does anyone know?
foodlion sucks i am a employee there and have been there for 2 years and it started off to be a great company to work for but now its miserable it took me 2 years and workin 40 hrs everyweek just to get a 10cent raise,which is bullshit for the hard work i put into the place and managers are terrible no one trains u properly and when u do something wrong or something that another employee does(if ur a manager)u get fired which has happened twice in 4 monthsad all the managersuhnsed
food lion is worst place to work. my girlfriend used to work there. one of the employee asked her to work her shift and my girlfriend denied because she has already plan for that day. god knows what that employee said to general managers and my girlfriend got suspended and now fired. what kind of general manager is that? if he don't know how to investigate the case and do the management then why he is taking position of general manager. he have to no right to listen his favorite employee and and fire other people. he is misusing his position. corporate should take action against him for firing employee without any reason.this is the case of Store #00771 -- Address 1018 N EISENHOWER DRIVE BECKLEY 25801
I went to the Food Lion at Merchants Square on Gov. Printz in Wilmington, De on 3-12-11 at about 7 pm. I wanted to buy some meat for dinner, but none of it looked fresh, so I passed. The dates indicated the meat should be fresh, but it was visibly going bad. I did my other shopping and got in line behind someone with a large order that was almost complete. There was some kind of problem after that customer was rung up. There were some items she didn't want to pay for with food stamps. The cashier had someone else come over to help, and then pulled the only other cashier from another line. Time was passing and my ice cream was melting. i already had my stuff up on the belt. I sat down on a bench for a while I checked back and nothing had progressed. At least 15 minutes had passed. Not once during that time was I addressed or acknowledged. I decided to take my stuff off the belt and go to another lane. Unfortunately, that lane was 12 items or less. I decided to just leave. Someone should have invited me to another lane. Most grocery stores would have even helped me move the items. This store has only been opened for a few months and is in a location where a grocery store was needed and hoped for. Already the signs of failure are evident. Unstocked shelves, rotting meats, understaffing, undertraining and poor customer service indicate the death knell for a business.
I live in Boone NC. The shelve at the store on Blowingrock Rd may be stacked full, but Personaly I think the stockers should have time to remove the out of date Items from the shelves. As a customer I should not have to check experation Dates befor I buy an item.
I have submitted an application to the new stores in Fayetteveille, NC on Rock Fish Road and Bingham Drive and I have not had any response and I want to know WHY? I pretty much know everything about working in a Grocery Store and handling customers (they are always right and first). So, please can someone get in touch with me. I live here in Fayetteville, very near both New stores and I have no problems getting to and from work. I am a hard worker, very dedicated, team player, and very undersatnding. If only I can prove myself. I applied for stocking, deli, scanning or whatever position that's available and that I am most qualified for. I know I am the right person for the job. #910-263-8924. I just reported the new manager (Ms Julian) who only been there 2-3 weeks gave out my daughter (minor) entire information to her Work Based Learning Coordinator teacher. My daughter is a juvenile and was discharged for a misconduct which was strictly confidential. I was told the new manager, Julian and the customer service manager (Deborah) were telling not only employees, but customers of what happen which was inside information. I know for a fact that confidential information is being exposed because a manager from another Food Lion told me that Deborah was the one telling other managers and this is one of the managers who had employees giving her "free food"...but was not discharged. I am hiring an attorney and just got off the phone with Associate Relations at the Food Lion Corporate office....this will be a legal case - AN UPSET MOTHER AND FORMER CUSTOMER OF FOOD LION,GEORGIA
This is not a reflection on the stores that I will be talking about because the customer service is great at both stores. Up until now I haven't had any issues at all. I went to the store in Raeford, NC last week and bought some ribs. I went to cook them, but when I opened the package they smelled so bad. I took them back to the store and the front end manager was super nice in returning them. However, when I first walked in she thought I was the person who called earlier about a bad roast and then proceeded to tell me that someone had returned ribs a few days earlier. I thought well maybe becaue they are remodeling the store the refridgerators weren't cold enough or maybe the meat layed out too long, so no big deal. We didn't purchase any meat that night. Today I went to another Food Lion in Aberdeen, NC, which again everyone there is super nice. I bought a package of meatloaf mix. I went to prepare my dinner, but when I opened the package the meat it smelled so bad. I called the store and of course they are more than happy to refund me, but my concern is what is going on all of a sudden with Food Lion meat. It is two stores now that I have experienced this in. I will not buy any more meat from food lion. I will stick to other grocery stores for my meat products. What makes me mad is that two nights I set out to prepare dinner and I couldn't, so my kids had to settle for a less of a dinner because my dinner plan was ruined. I tried to find a number for coproate to find out what is going on, but the one number I found doesn't help any. If anyone has an email address or phone number that I can contact someone to find out why the meat in Food Lion is bad, I would greatly appreciate it.
It is 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27. I went to our NEW Food Lion within 5 mins of my home, spent $183.00+ in groceries. (FYI - another store which i have used until this new store opened was 5-10 mins. away and prices are comparable - different chain) In other words - I consciously chose to use Food Lion. Upon returning home at 9:45p.m. and unloading the groceries, THREE of the 16 bags ripped: one holding 4 cans broke on the steps of my apartment building - and the 4 cans were rolling in all directions; 1 ripped - with 22 containers of yogurt, but fortunately i saw the hole in time to keep anything from falling out; and #3 broke without ever picking it up off the floor of the elevator - and a jar of spagetti sauce broke on the floor of the elevator. I cannot believe the bags are SO CHEESY AND THIN that they cannot even stand the trip from the car to the house. Besides the bags being so small, now that they are so thin -- i will NOT be shopping there again until someone proves to me that the quality of the bags have been improved. I am sorry that you have lost a customer -- but i WILL NOT CHASE MY GROCERIES ACROSS THE PARKING LOT OR DOWN THE STAIRS when the bags break again. (I would mark "ZERO STARS" but that wasn't one of my choices!) this complaint is not a STORE complaint, it is a CORPORATE COMPLAINT. stores use the bags they are provided.
There are many reasons why I no longer shop at food lion. I started shopping there five years ago when I moved to Kannapolis NC. I always shopped at store number 6 on Oak avenue Mall drive. I remember shopping there while I was pregnant and I would go almost everyday because I lived across the street and it was nice to just run and get things daily as I wanted them but then I noticed I could drive 7 miles to another store and still be home faster because I wouldn't have to wait in line to check out. The produce department at this store is horrible!!! EVERYTIME I have ever bought bagged fruit from this food lion when I get home and open the bag all the fruit was rotten!! They seem to have a problem keeping things neat and clean in this store as well. now... after I had my son I needed a part time nights an weekends job to bring in some extra money and I got a part time job working there because it was so close by I wouldn't have to spend a lot of money in gas to get to and from work. Here are some of my complaints as a now ex-employee of food lioin. for one the Management is horrible. I can't begin to tell you how many Sunday Mornings I was working and I would be the only cashier and there would be NO BAGGERS!! then the managers would all be in the office drinking coffee and eating pastries. They never answer the office phone so I started taking my phone to the resgister with me so if there was an emergency with my son I could be contacted and the manager ( Joana and her assistant Kammie) came to me and said that is was not allowed and that I would get into trouble if I was caught with it again and walked away texting on her phone!! I was sick one weekend and tried to call in to let them know that I was not going to be able to make it and no one answered the phone so they gave me grief about it when I returned the next day. Then they hired all these incompetent high school kids to work and it makes no sense to me as to why they would be getting more hours and better pay than the people working to support a family!! And they are the ones who never show up on time or at all or always need some one to fill in for them. I would come in on my days off and work and clean for the other employees just so I could get the hours and no recognition was shown for that. I would get scheduled for 20 hours and week and work 34 to 38 and still be listed as part time so that the company wouldn't have to pay for me to be full time!! Cheap bastards! Now it's tax time and I recently moved now I changed my address and called the store I worked at in Jan3rd and notified them of the address change for my w2 and I still have not recieved one. I have called corporate in Salisbury and the tard working the operator line instead of transferring me to the HR department hangs up on me! So I Called the number 6 store back and they said that there was nothing they could do for me that it was out of there hands to get another w2 sent to my house or even to the store and I offered to drive the 1 hour to go pick another one up. Now it is Feb 14th and I am still with out a w2!!! The management of store number 6 needs to be re-evaluated and possibly just shut down because they obviously don't know what they are doing!! and just as a tip you might want to check some of their facebooks because there are videos of the office employees dancing to the back street boys in there instead of working!!
I WORK AT FOOD LION ITS HORRIBLE THEY DONT TRAIN YOU AND I STILL HAVENT HAD A HELLO FROM THE MANAGER AFTER 2 WEEKS THEY DONT TALK TO YOU THEY DONT LOOK AT YOU AND THEY HAVE 17 YEAR OLD OFFICE MANAGERS ITS THE WORST PLACE IN THE WORLD TO WORK!
I was shopping in my local Food Lion last night in Kenly, and while reading this please keep in mind my home town was one of the hardest hit areas on the April 16th Tornado. Me and all of my family lost ALL of our food items and my aunt couldn't stay in her home for 3 weeks and my grandmother and I were without power for 6 or 7 days so DSS offered us a Disaster Relief food stamp card (A one time thing).So being very appreciative we took those.I used mine for the first time last night and I have never felt more humiliated in my life than I did last night. I was told by an employee at Food Lion that my "free money" came at his and others discrepency. He was rude and wouldn't even put my items in my cart and had a very BAD attitude. As a tax payer who has worked ALL of my life I found this to be very very unacceptable. Me and my family had to lay in a ditch to take cover from the tornado with my 74 year old grandmother who thought this was the end for us all.
