On Monday June 11,2012 I called the Tyler, Tx. Enterprise location to ask about reserving a mini-van for the following day. I was told by Jared that they had one. I told him that we had a family member in the hospital that was a cancer patient in critical condition. I was going to need the van to pick up other family members in Mo. I told him that I would be in between 8am and noon to pick it up. I ask if he needed my credit card or other info. He said no. I started trying to call at 8am to let them know that it would be closer to 1pm. NO one answered the phone until 8:20 am. Andrew Wingfield the branch manager answered. I told him of my conversation with Jared and assured him I would be in by 1pm. I ask if he needed my credit card to hold the vehicle, he said no. My wife took of work to drive me to Tyler (approx. 40 miles) We arrive a little before noon. We were told that the minivan had been given to someone else. They said that they would have either a minivan or Suburban for us at 1:30. After going for lunch we came back and was told they would not have anything for us except possibly a 12 passenger van but did not know when that might come in. Totally unapologetic, both Andrew and Jared did not care in the least about the situation they had left us in or the loss of time in a critical situation for our family. Needless to say no more Enterprise for us.
I received an invoice for payment for a car rental 5/26/12 through 6/02/12 (Enterprise Jamaica,NY). The deposit was charged to my card and the balance was to be paid by Qwik Lube. This agreement was made because I brought my car in to Qwik Lube for an oil change, was charged for an oil change, but no oil change. They drained all the old oil but didn't replace it neededless to say, my engine blew. For their gross negligence Qwik Lube at first agreed to pay for the rental from Enterprise. When they received the cost of the estimate to replace my blown engine, these people refused to pay for the engine or the rental. To make matters worse, instead of going after Qwik Lube for the balance of the payment, Enterprise forwards me the invoice for the entire amount of the bill ($480). This matter is now in litigation and if Enterprise continues to seek payment, they should go after Qwik Lube (I have the original receipt of deposit clearly stating balance is to be carged to Qwik Lube.
You would be better served to bypass this Charlotte, NC airport location. The customer service was horrible and ruined my plans. I DO NOT recommend this business at all. Manager Debbie Walker was difficult and desk agent Andrew was rude. Not a good representation for such a large company. I will never again even consider using Alamo for any car rental needs and will most assuredly post my opinion on sites and tell my friends and co-workers how horrible this service was.
the enterprise on 9th south and state street in slc utah, worst customer service i have ever had. rude, no hello just a what do you want. while she did my paper work she said this is the guy who will show you your car. he didnt even look at us or say anything. she then ran my card wrong then said she had to wait 24 hours to run it again, (it was a saturday and we had places to go) we didnt get to go. i will never go here again and will tell everyone oabout this experience. she also needed a shower...
after a car accident my insurance agent referred me to enterprise rent a car. the salesperson forced me to get an upgrade because they didn't have an economy car. I think that was unprofessional. I end up with a bill. I want my money back
There is a lady who works at this enterprise located at 1298 E Gude Dr, Rockville, Maryland. I believe she is the only female there. She is just so overbearing and rude. I have interacted with her twice, and both have been really bad. The first one was around the Twinbrook Station location in Rockville, MD, and then now at the E Gude location. Fortunately, the Twinbrook location office was shut down, thank goodness. She talks over you, thinks she knows everything, and just doesn't listen to the client's needs. As long as she is at that location, I will never go there again. I just can't stand her attitude at all. She seems to forget that without the clients she will have no income to depend on. I often rent cars from enterprise , and have used several locations with no problems at all. But with this particular lady, I just can't fathom her behavior.
By far the most usless company I have ever worked with. The Springfield Tn. office while having two very nice employees they have there hands tied. Grossely understaffed and not enough inventory. Eight out of ten times when you call they do not even answer the phone. I challenge someone from corporate to try to call them at any given time during the work week and I will bet you a steak dinner they will not pick up the phone...........DO IT ! I do not see how they survive
I would like to say Thank you to Kevin Manager unit Blackstone in Fresno you're such a good service person. And also' Mo' she's just try do her best to me.I'm totally really appreciate for both of you. I gotten excellent customer service and treated with respect. and i hope your corprate office will read this's note. Thanks again.
Enterprise on Mayfield Rd in Cleveland Hts, Ohio is the worst. To get a car, I had to wait an hour just before someone would talk to me. When I finally got one, the exits were blocked by a van and a car that the employees could not move. They quoted me a weekly price, then charged me 50% more when I returned it. They have no clue about insurance. The lady in front of me called the office "bunch of snakes and thieves." Never again.
My husband and I purchased an used car. The car needed some mechanical work and they company we purchased it from told us they would cover the entire cost of a rental from Enterprise. Well, I am not a big fan or Enterprise and even less now. My first bad experience was at the Gloucester, VA location with the two frat boys and there side kick female friend. The put me in an what they called J Lo Car (Fiat). It was like being stuck inside a sardine can. I could not get the car further than home, parked it and went to another location and picked up an HHR. Did I mention that my daughter and I where the last two customers and they gave discounts for that Friday to the two customers ahead of us, and allowed their rental to start that Saturday. I was charged for Friday why did I not get a discount since I was the last to leave even after arriving an hour before they closed and doing my reservation online. Now with this second situation, I was billed for them telling me I needed insurance on the rental car when we already had full coverage insurance that took care of it. I told my husband when he arrived home they should not have charged him this, but he keep saying they told him he needed it because he would be charged for damages, bull. Went to return the car upon our car being fixed and they tried to charge us for the insurance knowing the car dealership would not cover this, so they where getting money from the car dealership as well as us. After requesting on the phone the number to corporate, Sara the MGR. knocked it down to three days. This I thought I was nice after having to set her straight about her side show bob employees. She gave us an extension date of within 30 days to pay off the $59 but decided to take it out of our bank acct. long before it was due. We had signed a paper stating we would pay the balance on June 15th but they acted as if they did not have a copy of this signed agreement in their office. My husband called when we noticed the funds had been removed out of our acct. and was told it would be 1-2 days before anyone would get back to us. Now I have been trying to call, no one will answer the phone and I had to look up the corporate number and left a compliant. Corporate customer service say "this was not a good answer" so true. These people are putting people in cars just to make money, they do not care about safety, just profit. This location was the Enterprise on Warwick Blvd in Newport News VA. I wish not to use them again if I can help it, but had to due to the car dealership.
I had been renting at the Lafayette, CA location. Customer service was great until they hired Natalie - she is horrific! She is nasty, very unprofessional and because of her, alone, I will NEVER go back to the Lafayette location!! She is disgusting! It's a shame she is representing Enterprise!!
I was hit by a person in an Enterprise rental vehicle who had insurance through them. It has bee a month and Enterprise has given me the run around, given dead end phone numbers, and has failed to return calls. The "managers" have argued with me and talked over me during the conversations I have had with them and have failed to help in anyway with the situation. Mean while I have had a second child, am in need of a larger car and can not trade or sell my vehicle because is sitting in my drive-way wrecked with Enterprise is not coming through on with their responsibilities. I have rented from Enterprise in the past and will no longer make the mistake of placing my money hard earned money into the pockets of a corporation with no concern for people impacted by their customers.
I would give a ZERO if I could!!!! I usually rent from this location 1-3 times every year. On 05/23/12 I rented a car from your Lake Forest location for a 24 period because my min van was being serviced. I have rented from Lake Forest Enterprise many times and felt I trusted the employees. When I picked up the car I was told to sign here initial here and the reason why BUT he did not ask me to walk around and check if there was any damages. He just told me there was no damage and just initial here. Me being naive to trust a place I always go to was a big mistake. During the time I had the car I picked up my kids from school and home. The next morning I dropped off the car there was no dent because I walked around the car to make sure there was no damage but about 45 mins I got a call saying there was a dent on the car. I was very upset of course, knowing very well I didn't do that. But it was NO use. So now I have to pay $615.16, money that could feed my 3 kids for 2 months. If I did do the damage I would gladly pay for it but I DIDN'T! This experience has left me felling angry, frustrated and disappointed.I would never be a returning costumer or would ever recommend anyone to Enterprise again. You can have $615.16 of mine but you will never have my business or referral again.
I have been an Enterprise customer for several years and completely satified with both service and product - until this May. Allow me to explain; I made a reservation at your Bronx, New York location, 619 E. Fordham for My 28th. I was not told, during confirmation, that it would be closed due to the holiday. In addition, the pick-up location was changed without any word. It was not until my wife telephoned to re-confirm, May 25th Friday, that I became of aware. This inconvenience caused for I to make sudden changes in my plans which should had not been necessary if said location personnel had behaved professionally.
My daughter needed to rent a car to take her daughter to the hospital in danville pa 2hours from where we live. I did not know you had to reserve a car in order to rent one when we got to the place and told them we needed to rent a car that day they did not offer any help all the said was did you reserve? My daughter looked at me they said nothing else did not offer any kind of help in trying to resolve or say can you pick it up tomorrow what time is your appointment wheredo you have to go or say let me see if another location can help. I also want you to know the place was filthy it looked like an old dirty garage. not happy with Enterprise in Honesdale pa on 191 south
I work in a dealer here in rosenberg texas, enterprise never has car to rent and their customer service is not the greatest. some one need to come down and fix this operation!!!! Send Corporate to repair this catastrophe they call a rental place
I rented a convertable from Enterprise in Orlando FL at the airport on 05-23-12. My family and I went to Disney on 05-24-12. When we left Disney, at midnight, we found 19 pounds of air in the front driver side tire. I went to the Hess station just outside the parking lot at Disney and put air in the tire to get us back to our hotel, 9 miles away. In putting air in the tire I located a screw in the tire. I returned to out hotel and called the roadside assistance #. The guy that answered was extreemly helpful. He told me that I could bring the car to a local Enterprise office and swap it for another. He even check to make sure the local office had a convertable. He told me to call the local office in the morning, give them the incident # and tell them what had happened. He advised I could then drive over and swap the cars "NO PROBLEM". I woke up the next morning and called the local office, which was like 9 miles from our hotel. I was told all they had was MINI VANS. (Switch a convertable for a mini van... I think NOT!) I told them the guy from road side assistance checked and they had a convertable. I was told "We don't have to swap you the same type vehicle". REMEMBER THIS LINE. I was then told the convertable they had was reserved so I could not have it. I was then told I could take the car to any Firestone dealer and they could fix or repair the tire. I was given the address for the local firestone dealer. 20 miles away. I called them and was told, no problem just bring it in. After talking to Firestone I decided I would call Enterprise back. This time a female answered. I asked if they had a convertable to rent. I was told they had just received a cancelation. I then asked if I could swap it for the car I had as their convertable was not STRANGELY available. I dont think the guy who reserved it called to cancel the reservation in the 4 minutes it took me to call Firestone. After talking to the lady I continued to get "WE DONT HAVE TO GIVE YOU THE SAME TYPE OF CAR". I told them I could understand that if they did not have the same type but if they had one why could I not swap it? "WE DONT HAVETO GIVE YOU THE SAME TYPE CAR" kinda broken record at this point. She then advised "It't no ready". I asked her what that ment. She advised it was not clean. I told her I did not care too much that it was dirty as long as all four tires hold air. She finally told me I could swap the car. I told her to make sure it had a full talk of gas. I advised I would fill mine and be down to swap. I then got... WE DONT HAVE TO GIVE YOU A FULL TANK OF GAS. THAT ONLY HAPPENS AT THE AIRPORT.... What! How much gas was in their car. 1/8 tank. Mine was almost full... HMMM I think not! She advised they did not have a pump at their location. I guess they dont have gas stations near them either. (I know there are at least two people working there as I now have spoken to them). After going round and round and round. I finally hung up on the.... lady and went to Firestone and had the tire replaced. When I returned the car to the airport on 05-28-12 the guy at the airport asked if everything went well with the car... HMMMM.... the wrong thing to say. I then told him the story. He told me everythihg I was told by the guy and the lady was all true but he advised if she had a convertable she should have swapped out the car. He advised she was just trying to be difficult. He did take $60.00 off the bill but I will be contacting the corp. headquarters to file a complaint. The last thing I wanted to do on my vacation in Florida was to spend a morning at a tire store. I will say the guys at Firestone rock as they got me in and out as fast as they could fitting me in between other appointments. To sum up my ordeal with Enterprise. It will be a cold day in hell before I rent another vehicle from them. If they were the only company left..... I'd WALK!

This post is not about renting a car, but about the shabby and inappropriate way the Enterprise rental office in Williamson, West Virginia is managed and what they expect from their hourly employees. Occasionally people will rent cars and keep them after their rental term has ended. Being a rural state it is very easy to take a car to another location and hide it. Incredibly when this happens management tells their hourly employees to go to the address location on the account and look for the car; then tells them if they find the car they need to call a wrecker service to bring the car in. This office is too cheap to file paperwork with the Sheriff’s office or local law enforcement and have them follow up on the stolen car! This is dangerous!!! Last year a retired senior citizen working for this office to supplement his income was told to go look for a stolen car. He found the car and ended up having a gun pointed to his neck, was threatened and verbally abused. I know because this man is my father. What’s really insulting is that the manager won’t go himself because he knows it’s dangerous!! This office mistakenly believes they are saving money by bypassing paperwork and taking the appropriate legal action when theft of a rental car occurs. This is a matter for law enforcement! Let's see how much money they "save" when they get sued because someone gets murdered.
We have been using Enterprise for the last 5 years and have only once had a car we didn't like. We've NEVER had a personnel problem either. This last rental was a tremendous example of why we are happy with the company. We picked up the car for a 2 week rental and found, after 1 day that it was miserably uncomfortable and smelled horrific of cigarette smoke so took it back to the Cortland, NY office where we picked it up (luckily, we were nearby). The attendant there, (Donald Brewer) found us a replacement and I believe it was even an upgrade. He saved us 2 weeks of negative thinking about the company and we will surely be back.
