My account was placed on restriction for NO reason! I tried to deal with this yet can't get anyone to tell me why. I have a 100% feedback and have never had an issue. They e-mailed my and said I cannot appeal, and that further emails would not even be answered! I have spoken with 2 different service personel @ EBay Headquarters, and they are not even finding my account! They can however find my info on someone elses name that I have not ever heard of!!! Mistaken Identity? Stolen Identity? What's going on here EBay???? I feel I deserve explanations for suspension, the right to appeal, and furthermore, if it is a problem of IDENTITY IN THEIR SYSTEM, and not anything I have done to be suspended, to be able to get this resolved PROMPTLY... I have used EBay Classifieds for a long time, only to be kicked off with no reason, explanation, or resolve!!!! So far I have spent over 2 hours on the phone, trying to get to the bottom of this matter... STILL WAITING EBAY!!!!!!

Please contact me if your account was restricted for Ebay's new Seller Dashboard. Also, if your new account was linked to the old account. I am starting a class action suit against their practices. dmopinpoint@aol.com

I contacted you help center and got Lalane CR. Gentlemen with help like this I’m not certain how you stay in business. You need to dispense with the BS and answerer the questions asked you.

E-bay was a great site up until 4 or 5 years ago when they began instituting a series of totally moronic policies in a supposed effort to combat online fraud. In actuality though all these policies do is lead to countless headaches and lost time and revenue for legitimate users. One of the worst of these was when they stopped allowing sellers to leave negative feedback. The reason they did this supposedly was to stop certain sellers from leaving retaliatory false negative feedback. Well it certainly did what it was supposed to but the problem is it also led to a massive explosion of nonpaying bidders. Now there are countless thousands of people out there who bid on items just for the fun of it with no intention of actually paying for those items. It’s like a game to them. I remember the last year I was running my e-bay business nearly half of all the items I sold had to be re-listed at least once due to no paying bidders. Sometimes I would have to list an item 2 or 3 times to finally get it sold to a paying bidder. These people can get away with doing this for months or even years before getting caught simply because sellers cannot leave negative feedback stating that this person did not pay for an item. The only thing we can do as sellers is to report this to e-bay. The problem with that is it’s a long protracted process in which e-bay contacts the person over a several week period to try to get them to make payment. Most sellers don’t want to go to this trouble though, they just want to re-list the item that same day so they can get their money as soon as possible. For this reason non-paying bidders do not get reported very often and even when they do apparently e-bay has to receive at least 4 or more non-paying bidder reports before canceling the guys account at which point he simply starts a new account under a different name. If you fail to pay for an item at a real auction house even once I doubt they would ever let you back in the door again. Of course non-paying bidders would be little more than a nuisance if it weren’t for another ridiculous e-bay policy. Basically, e-bay charges you seller’s fees and final value fees based on money promised rather than on actual cash received. This means that when I have to list an item 3 times before finally getting someone to pay what they owe me I get billed for selling an item 3 times which actually was only sold once. And it is such a pain in the butt to reach someone in customer service to have these charges removed that most people end up just forgetting about it or figuring its not worth the hassle. After all they might have to spend an hour of their time trying to get a 5-dollar refund and they figure their time is worth more than that. Anyway this basically means that having all these no-paying bidders out there actually leads to hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars in extra profit for e-bay and I’m sure they are aware of this. So are these policies based on stupidity or simply on greed? I wonder. And these policies don’t just affect the seller. Due to the fact that most of these non-paying bidders also have zero feedback many sellers will not accept bids from anyone with zero feedback and this makes it hard for new e-Bayer’s to buy anything. Of course even if I state in huge letters that I do not accept zero feedback bidders I will almost always still get a few and then will have to cancel bids. You would think that e-bay would let you block them from bidding but apparently you cannot. In fact you cannot even block bidders with a non-payment strike against them, as incredible as that sounds. You can only block someone who has three or more strikes against them. Yep you heard that right – three strikes. As far as I’m concerned someone with tree non-payment strikes should not even be allowed to have an e-bay account. And I think most e-bay sellers would consider a single non-payment strike more than enough reason to block a bidder. But incredibly e-bay won’t let us do that. This is because they know that to let these problems continue means more profit for them. And since they are so far ahead of their competitors they figure people will not leave them. Well that may have been true in the past but mark my words, if e-bay keeps pissing off all their sellers with their insane policies and poor customer service and other sites continue to improve then very soon there is going to be a mass exodus of e-bay users to other auction sites. By the way, I just learned of another absurd policy today. I got an e-mail stating that I had a limit selling ten items or 500 dollars a month. Last years when I was running a business on e-bay I was selling thousands of dollars a month when I had to stop due to a severe illness. Apparently e-bay penalizes people for having an inactive account for a long period of time no matter how good their past feedback and overall selling record is. So what does this mean to me? Well basically there is no way I could start up my business again on e-bay. Selling only $500 a month would not give me nearly enough profit to reinvest in stock and supplies each month to keep it going. I ran into a similar problem a few years ago when I decided to open a new account so I could have one for selling and a separate one for buying. The problem is that the new rules applied to the new account so I would not get paid until the customer received the item and gave positive feedback even though with my old account the funds always cleared immediately. Even when I told them that I’m the same person who’s been on e-bay for over ten years with no complaints they could not change it. As for the customer service itself I can at least say that the staff are usually friendly and try to be helpful, assuming you can ever reach a real person that is. Unfortunately though they themselves are bound by e-bays ridiculous policies. And although they try their best to help, sometimes when I have a complicated problem I just want to talk to an American person and this seems to be a next to impossible. I have probably talked to 50 customer service reps at e-bay over the years and every single one of them had a Tagalog accent, in other words, they were born and raised in the Philippines. When I ask if they are currently located in the USA they usually try to avoid answering and if I push the issue they will say they are located in California (San Jose). Now this may be true but it seems unlikely that a California business would hire only people from the Philippines. After all I’m sure there are more Chinese, Vietnamese, and even Hmong in San Jose then there are Filipinos so you would think I would occasionally talk to someone from one of these other countries if the call center were actually in the USA. Anyway as for me the second those other sites get enough customers I’m going to drop e-bay like a bad habit and so should all of you.

a ebay represenitive told me that when a buyer files a item not as described claim, they are automatically awarded the claim because ebay isnt there when the package is opened. even if the item has a no refund policy. they dont investigate like they suppose to. once, they even refunded the money back and they never even returned the item! ebay customer support is rude, arguetive, and refused to discuss how they come about there decisions. its the sellers that is making ebay there millions with the fees the seller is paying, not the buyers. sellers can report dead beat buyers, crooked buyers, now we have to pay final vale fees on shipping, they dont honor the no refund policy and its just getting worse. i used to like selling on ebay, now im looking for other online auction sites.

I purchased a 2005 Subaru Outback off of eBay Motors from seller "sparpro1" because I thought that eBay was a trustworthy site but I found out the hard way that this just isn't the case. The seller & I lived 4 hours apart so we meet in NYC which is 2 1/2 hours from where I live. We meet on June 11, 2011 which was a windy, rainy & cold day. I drove the car around the block & everything seemed fine with the car but since I know nothing about cars except where to put the gas & washer fluid this didn't mean much. I had the seller sign an agreement since there was no vehicle protection plan on this car since it was being sold on a classified ad. The agreement stated that if the car needed more than $800.00 in engine work they would refund my money plus the mechanic check up fee which came to $80.00. This would done on or before June 26, 2011. Two days after the transaction took place I took the car to my local mechanic. He found that the car needed $2400.00 in repairs ($1350.00 in engine repairs & $1050.00 in tires & suspension work). I immediately tried contacting both the husband & wife who sold me the car but they refused to answer their phones. I contacted them one day about 2 dozen times which caused them to e-mail me back. I provided the seller a copy of the work order which they requested but was told that not one of things that need to be done to my car is engine work. This though is a lie since this portion of the work order totals $1327.00 plus 6% tax. I have tried contacting eBay numberous times in regard to this matter & their reply is that this transaction took place outside of eBay. This excuse is a crock of sh*t since the only way that this transaction took place was by me clicking on the "contact the seller" button. In addition the only way the sale could take place was because both the buyer & seller had to be members. Even though the sale wasn't covered by vehicle protection I thought I would be able to turn this matter over to the resolution department but again I was wrong. I wasn't even able to leave the seller negative feedback since the item was never put in my account. So now he sits there looking like a perfect eBay account with 100% positive feedback when in actuality this seller is a thief in my eyes but no one knows that. eBay also told me to contact ic3 because they were going to help me to get me my money back. This is the Internet Crime Complaint Center & they have done nothing to get me my money back. eBay as far as I'm concerned has opened the floodgates for thieves, liars & scumbags to do business on their website since there is no repercussions for their wrongdoings. eBay should protect all sales that take place on website since in all cases the buyer can check the item they are buying. They should not discriminate against the classified ad & allow seller to misrepresent what they're selling without any recourse. I compare this situation to when craiglist found out that prostitution was occurring on their website. They could have left it on their site but instead took the moral high ground & removed it. The same can be said of eBay they allow the scum of the earth to continue to do business on their site & close their eyes to what is going on or they can & should remove classified ads from their site or they should protect the buyer from the fraudulent activity that they have allowed to occur. As far as I'm concern they are just as bad as the people who conduct the fraud since they have given them the avenue to commit their crimes. Also I tried contacting the president by phone but that is impossible since I know of no phone number which will allow you to do that. If I remember correctly the president of eBay was requesting people to contact him so he could improve their tarnished image evidently he no longer care about the people who keep his site going because I know of no way the contact him other than old fashioned mail & he probably has someone else who reads that. Just so eBay corporate knows they are more than welcome to contact in regard to this matter. The best way to do so is by e-mail.

eBay has sunk to new low for allowing obscene items to be listed for sale. One item in particular is so offensive and graphic that I've reported it three times on line, went to the Q&A and listed my concern asking for guidance on how to handle the situation. I have searched and called every number I could find (six numbers) ... five were answered by robots telling me where to take my concern (which isn't included in the robot's menu), and the sixth number for Kevin Pursglove, corporate spokesperson, was disconnected. eBay has lost touch with their members; there is NO way to speak to a person; there is no response to filed complaints even when they state they will respond to confirm receipt; they have no idea what is being listed and apparently don't care. Pride cometh before a fall; arrogance ultimately leads to collapse; greed is dealt with in a ruthless and unfeeling manner ... heads up eBay ~ your house is starting to collapse.

THE WORST ON LINE AUTIONS SITE THERE IS SHUT YOU DOWN FOR NO REASON AND DOSE NOT HAVE THE BALLS TO TELL YOU WHY ---TOTALY WRONG--BEWARE YOU MAY BE NEXT ---

Ebay sucks!! they totally treat their sellers like garage!! Helllllooooo Ebay, the sellers are the ones that pay yuour bills!! Since they have removed the feedback a seller can leave for a buyer, the buyers become ridiculous! I have shipped items to people from NY to Hawaii regular parcel post mail,(that is all they paid for) and it took over two weeks to get there. I live in NY and they live in Hawaii-clear across the county and then some. This buyer could not wait and filed a buyer resolution complaint against me. E bay refunded her money even though there was a tracking number showing the item had shipped and was in transit!! Finally the merchandise arrived. I now have to fight Ebay to put the money back in my paypal account that they took from me. Ridiculous. That buyer protection plan that Ebay offers works to hurt sellers. Wise up Ebay, someday you may not have a business. You charge ridiculous fees. Next time I will take my merchandise to a consignment shop!!

Call the San Jose Police Department 1-408-277-8900 for any problems you have with eBay that aren't resolved that involve illegal activities like counterfeit item sales. The Police will not enjoy the increased work load and should force eBay to monitor the site themselves. Try the MAC 120 color eyeshadow palette. MAC makes nothing over 15. All 200 plus auctions are illegal and the sellers are thieves. Reporting the auctions and sellers to ebay doesn't help!!!

THE WORST-- SOME THING OR SOME OTHER ONLINE AUCTION SITE NEEDS TO TAKE OVER---NO ANSWERS --EBAY STANDS ONLY BEHIND THE BUYER--- TELLS YOU ONE THING TO DO AND THEN SHUTS YOU DOWN ---THEY NEED TO GET THEIR HEAD ON STRAIGHT --EBAY CORPORATE OFFICE NEEDS TO GO UNDERCOVER TO SEE WHATS REALLY HAPPENING----SCAMMERS ONE WAY OR AN OTHER--THANKS I KNOW THIS IS GOING ON DEAF EARS

ebay should be call rip and go --seller get rip 100%feedback- we do not want you no more close your account great job beware of getting ripped off--by the rip and go company

We would like to request that the restrictions on this account be removed. The restrictions were put on the account because of two things. thewoodiegarage2 1. A door we sold to a buyer who complained that he had not received the door. We have and sent proof that the door was send before the complaint was filled. Not only that but the complaint was filed two times by mistake. 2. A complaint that a Lady Di Christmas card we sold was a fake. We bought the car on ebay about 3 years ago and paid over $750 for it. We did not know it was not real. The buyer only paid $250 for it. As soon as they told us it was not real we sent the money back to them. We still have the card and are out $750. These items pushed us over the 3% complaint and caused us to have a restriction made on our account. At that point you wanted a large number of things send to you to prove that we were who we said we were. We send you those items. Later we were told you guys could not find them and you wanted them sent again. We had another account hotrodhannah that was linked to this account. This was my daughters account and she was paying her way through collage with the $500 a month profit we made from the account. She sells new parts for old Fords with this account. Not only did you close it down but you removed over 200 hand imputed items she has up. She has been out of business now for almost two months. If you check our account you will she we are a approved seller with 100% approval rating. How can this be how can we be so good yet you are restricting us in any way??? We have talked to over 8 people and each time we have gotten the run around. We were even told that it was a glitch and we should be able to have $100,000 and 1000 items up without a problem. Something is going on over there regarding this account and whatever it is its not fair and in any case the whole system is a mess. Please check the file and you will see what I am talking about. I was last told that I should write the person that put the restrictions on the account. Please just do the right thing and take ALL restrictions off this account and the sub accounts, we have never had any problems in the past and have not had any problems in the last 3 months. Thank you so much Sasha Marks

HAVE AN ACCOUNT TO SELL ON EBAY --EBAY SHUT THAT ACCOUNT DOWN SAID I WAS CHARGING TO MUCH FOR FLAT RATE SHIPPING--OPEN AN OTHER ACCOUNT LIKE EBAY PERSON TOLD ME BACK IN APRIL AND OFFER FREE SHIPPING LIKE THEY SAID TO DO ON JULY 8 THIS ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED FOR NO REASON 100% FEEDBACK ALL FEEDBACKS WERE GREAT ---CALL EBAY 3 X EMAIL THEM 4 X WILL NO ANWSERS GREAT FOR A MILLION DOLLAR OUTFIT MAYBE THE BIG SHOT BOSSES SHOULD WAKE UP MAYBE GO UNDERCOVER IN FOUND OUT WHAT REALLY IS HAPPENING ITS JUST PASS THE BUCK WHOI REALLY CARE NOBODY

If you complain about eBay to customer support they lock you out of your account-you are done. There is absolutely no recourse for you. But I guess it is to my benefit as I won't be spending money on eBay. Just like JC Penney's, Montgomery Wards or a thousand other big retailers they will go out of business for their lack of concern.

It's amazing how this company can stay in business. Of course, they are making a killing off their sellers but cannot give them any help when they need it. Ebay is now also getting a cut from the sellers shipping proceeds which ebay has NO RIGHT to get. Shipping is at the seller's EXPENSE and ebay is now taking a % of the shipping cost! Amazing. ebay also has a new "nightmare" for it's users: the dreaded "Purchase History" section on the "My eBay" page. Why would I (or anyone else)want to keep a record of everything I ever purchased??? Ebay used to give the option to DELETE old transactions but it no longer lets anyone do that. So now I have to literally sift through hundreds of old transactions to find one that I still may have issues with. And "Customer No-service" is absolutely NO HELP! They are not authorized to do or fix anything, and they really don't care. Obviously, they are well-trained to say things like "We apologize for that" or "We understand your inconvenience." This is so fake and artificial. WHY DOES EBAY FEEL THAT HAVE TO CHANGE THINGS AROUND EVERY 6 MONTHS? WHY CAN'T THEY JUST LEAVE THINGS ALONE????

I tried to log into ebay....on one of their sites it asked me to submit my credit card information in order to gain access....i already had a card on file and though this was funny but did it anyway.....it denied me access...then i found out that they need to have a credit card to verify my age...even though i was online with one of the customer service reps and he had already verifed the information....he told me that the credit card on file had been deleted....since it had not been deleted by me that leaves ebay the only group with access to my information....he also told me that any pay pay card on file with paypal is not on file with ebay..however when i asked him to grant me access to the site since he had all my information....he stated that i could use my paypal card....does anybody in this organization have a clue as to what is going on...and why is a supposedly secure site...no longer secure if someone there can delete my card and keep the informaion..

This is probably a useless post but I need to understand what's happened. On june 23rd we opened an ebay account. My wife has an antique store and we were looking at expanding her business thru Ebay.We went thru the process of establishing an account got pay pal verified and decided to try the Ebay store.Ebay accomadated all our request and we proceeded to begin to list the store items to sell online. We were pleased to conclude 5 sales over the next 24 hours. Everything seemed fine but unexpectedly on June 26th we recieved notice that our account was suspended. We were unable to find the cause of the suspension several generic emails came that said our account posed sme threat but not because of any action on ou part. We followed up and account resolution reviewed and took us off suspension on june27th or 28th. They told us we had to go back in and relist our items for sale and we did so. We were exciteds that we were back up and running only to recieve another email this morning june 29th. That we were back on suspension. I am still unable to find out what dastardly deed we must have done to deserve this type of treatment. My wife and I are in our mid to late 50s and only want to operate in an ethical and appropriate manner. I feel as though Ebay has treated us like a criminal element or some crooks. I am still astounded that we could present such a great risk to the ebay community and not know what has caused this. Any help would br greatly appreciated.

ebay customer service is the worst by far! I am speaking with a person who obviously doesnt have english as his first language. He is telling me that i am lying, i do not know what promotions are going on and i do not know what date it is!!! wtf?? how do "I" not know what date it is?? im in the USA so maybe where you are in the world the date is different. PLEASE ebay do better with your customer service. Customers.... sellers and buyers are the people who made eBay EBAY so the least you can do is return a few of those pennies and use them towards customer service that can actually do something!! This "customer service" rep (and i use that term loosely) name is: "Dominic P." based out of the Philippines call center (he wouldnt tell me where the call center is, but i can tell by his accent they are in the phillippines) . Please FIRE this guy ASAP! date spoken to: 6/27/2011 @ 8:29 PT

I honestly did hold much higher expectations for ebay when I first started selling. I thought it was great and very easy work. I have very recently come to find out that it is nothing but a scam, all of it!! First we have ebay fees for items that are being posted and that is a fee weather you sell an item or you don't, it is your bill that you will be obligated to pay. Then you have the wonderful ebay owned way to pay service through paypal, which they are gonna give you a fee too after your buyer makes a payment. So, you get charged two fees that is ultimately going into the same peoples pockets!! You have 7-8 pages of listings that did not sell so you have 7-8 pages of fees that ebay gets paid for with seller never seeing a dime of it! There is no way to make a buyer pay for an item that was won on ebay, they are not held personally responsible, so if you intend on getting anything out of the item it is to be relisted on ebay which is another fee for that same item that should have already been sold. There is no such thing as customer service for ebay, they refuse to give you a supervisor when asked. A buyer who has had an item for over 24 hours can have your entire paypal account put on hold where you cannot access any of your funds just by saying item not as described. Buyers can have items in there possession long enough to destroy them and still expect full refund, and most likely get it. It is not required that the buyer reports immediately that an item is damaged and try to get refunded but they can come back at any time later report it damaged and still be granted full refund. Paypal is also owned by ebay and there customer service is just as non-existing as ebays. So my main concern is that they supposively have this buyer protection program but where is the sellers protection program at? And why are you allowed to fee me not only once for things but also a second time once it reaches your paypal website?????
